Sony Smartwatch SW2 (after Dec 2013 update) - draining smartphone and no notifications

Hi All,
After updates to latest version (from Dec 2013) i can pair it
with my LG L9, but none of the notifcations go through (from smartphone to
watch), also cannot see recent SMSs nor emails (gmail) on the watch, despite the
proper apps are installed. And my smartphone gets really hot, and gets drained
at a rate of 20-25% of battery per hour (my LG9 used to last approx 3-4 days
when paired with SW2 before updates, now 4-5h seems to be the
max...).
Looks like the Android companion app for SW2 is buggy. I've
tried various things, including uninstallation of Smart Connect/SW2/all apps and
installation from scratch, multiple phone reboots, multiple watch resets. Pairs
fine, shows its paired, but no notifications and battery drain. Using it now as
a regular watch in disconnected mode, but that i could have for $20 and not
$200....
Any ideas/suggestions?
PS. looks like Pebble could have been a better choice after all Since mid days of Nov when i got it i'm more struggling with it, including periods of no-usability at all, then using it....

You are not alone on this. EXACLY the same thing here with LG-P940. Looks like SW2 is not compatible with LG phones...

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

After my last update mu iphone and ipad has an deleted apple id, but my itunes have the new on and I cannot change it on my devices. Any help would be appreciated.

If it's an old account which you'd updated with a new email address then try logging out of it on the iPad (and iPhone) by tapping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad (and iPhone). If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps.

I can no longer encode a sequence in PP CC after the Dec 2013 update

II have had to shut down and restart PP CC about 5 times when just creating a very simple sequence of clips from a family get together for Thanskgiving. I had to shut down since everything just quite responding. Fortunately, when I reopened the project, I could resume. I finally got my sequence created, but, now I can't export the sequence. The encode has failed 8 times in a row. I've tried direct export, and exporting to the AME queue. Sometimes I get the error sound and the absolutely useless error message "Error compiling movie. Unknown Error." Other times it just stops making any progress in the encode with no message at all, but there are zero CPU cycles being consumed by PP or AME. It just plain stops, wiht no eror message. That happened 3 times when used the Media Queue approach, and in the preview window in AME, it just stopped encoding at very different places in the sequence.
It appears as though I can no longer encode a movie. And I'm paying big bucks for this every month? What a sap.
I'm glad I'm not a Pro, whose income and life depends on these tools! But, I have a full time job, and only a very small amount of free time. I do not want to spend my small amount of free time as an Adobe Beta Tester. I've been using Adobe tools for years, which is why I signed up for CC, but...at this point: I can't even encode a simple sequence!
I can't express my disappointment. I wanted to be loading the encoded MP4 onto VIMEO for my friends and family to see by now, but.....I can't even encode a very simple sequence. And, I not a newbie. I have hundreds of videos on VIMEO, and many more on Youtube and Smugmug. Every one was produced with Adobe PP (from v4 on).
But now: I'm dead in the water.
I gurantee you that i will not 're-up' when my CC subscription expires, and, I guess right now, I have to start from scratch with my raw clips and find some other tools to use? I wish all my expensive plug-ins (like MB Suite) would work in whatever the tools I will move to...but...I guess I'll just have to write them off as a loss, just like the next 8 months of paying for my Adobe CC Software that no longer works.
I wish there was a way I could take the Thanksgiving Project and its sequences I've created in PP CC and convert the Project to PP 6.0, since I never had any issues with it PP v6.0.
But, from what I understand, if you make a project in PP CC, you are lost. You can't go backwards.
And, you know what? I'm done. I quit. I won't even try starting over in PP 6.0. I'm going to find some other tools. I know they won;t be as full-featured as Adobe's, but...I'm not a pro. I just need something that works reliably.

OK. I have successfully encoded this very simple sequence, but, I *can't* get it to encode using my "standard" custom H.264 preset that I have been using for years.
But, I was not able to encode in many plain vanilla codecs either, but, I got a notice that there was a CC update for AE, so I took the time to install those updates, and, as I always do, I re-booted after the update of AE.
But, of course I had re-booted a couple times last night when I couldn't get the sequence to encode. That's somethinf I always try b4 writing to a form.
So, here's the sequecne of events this morning:
1) Try to encode sequecne to uncompressed AVI (Cineform AVI 1920x1080). It SUCCEEDED. But, even though the AVI was large > 3.6 GB the quality was horrible, I did not pay much attention to the quality settings.
2) Try to encode to Quicktime H.264 codec. FAILED.
3) Try to encode to Quicktime Codec=Uncompressed 4:2:2. FAILED
4) CC UPdate notice for AE CC and AE 6.0
5) Perform update
6) Reboot
7) Try to encode to Quicktime Codec=Uncompressed 4:2:2. SUCCEEDED - but ENORMOUS FILE SIZE *very nice quality though* :-)
8) Try to encode to Quicktime Codec=H.264. SUCCEEDED.
9) Try to encode to my 'usual' H.264 Preset FAILED, just hung up during the 2nd of two passes. My preset is a VBR with 2 passes, see bitmap below. In this particular case it got 'hung' at this frame. But, It never 'hangs' in the same place?
So, I don't know why I was able to encode the sequence using the Quicktime Wrapper and botn Uncompressed and H2.264 Codecs after updating AE CC and rebooting, but not before. Surely there is no interaction between AE and AME?
But, the re-boot should not have caused it alone, since I had rebooted several times last night, and I've installed nothing but the new update for AE since last night?
So, I guess I'm OK now. Please excuse my tone last night, I was very frustrtated.
It is interesting that I still can't encode this particluar sequence using my "standard" H.264 preset.
And, BTW Jim: What I mentioned in my previus post was not that I had brought and old PP 6.0 sequecne into CC and encoded it successfully, but that I just re-encoded one of my most complex sequences AGAIN in PP 6.0, just to wanted to make sure nothing was haywire with "good old" PP 6.0.
But, I did just re-encode a sequence from PP CC from before the Dec 13 update using my "standard" H.264 preset, and...yes...it DID encode.
SOOOOO...Jim, you were correct. My inability to encode was not due to the DEC 13 PP CC update, but something very peculiar about this one sequence. But, it is a very simple sequence. The only effects applied is some light color grading using MB Colorista, and Warp Stabilizer to a stabilize a few hand held shots. No other effects. And...the encode that fails using my standard preset, never fails at the same frame.
But...at this point I'm OK. Instead of an encoded file in MP4 I have an ecnoded H.264 rendition in the QuickTime MOV wrapper. At least I've got that sequence done and can move on to the ton of others I need to get to (without having to learn an entirely new tool). :-)

Sony smartwatch sw2 - Imposible set up on bluetooth

I just buy a smartwatch sw2 and it's impossible to setup. I have a phone with android 4.0.4 First after pairing the pictogram with download smart connect appears and of course even after download (for at least 4 times and reset both devices and tried all the combinations) nothing happens.
With Update service i succeeded to update the smartwatch. The main change was that is possible now to stop the starting process and use the watch unsynchronized and to see the menus. But with new software after pairing the check mark screen with confirmed paired connection with computer remains and nothing happens after that.
In the phone in both cases the Smart Connection show the smartwatch, but inside this item is only event line and a link to advertise smartwatch. Is not like in google play description with setting and with detection of the smartwatch and practically I have no option to do. Is strange that if I make an event when the smartwatch is paired that action happens (like show home screen e.g.)
Practically at this moment I have a smartwatch not smart because is not communicate at all.
If someone has an idea please told me.

Sony will - of course - promote that the watch is working only with Sony phone. But, this is wrong. Currently, I am using the SW2 with either a Sony Xperia, but as well with a Galaxy S3 and a Wiko Cink Five.
The only mismatch is about the stock email app... Notifications are working only with the email app available on Sony devices... Not other ones.... I am talking about the std android email app, not Gmail. Gmail notifications are working on all devices you can associate to the SW2.

My Mac book pro has the end of a earphone stuck to it. After this I updated to maverick, and this massively slowed down my computer.Now my laptop is switching on and logging in just fine, but after logging in the screen goes white. What can the reason be?

At first my laptop was fine after the earphone end got stuck in. Soon it started getting slower, and suddenly it stopped switching on. The people in the service station said that it wAs because the hard disk drive was corrupted. I came back home, and immediately it stopped working again. This time they said it was because of water spill. They changed the entire key board and then it started working for a while. Later I updated to maverick and that slowed down my computer. Once, I switched on my laptop, logged in, and then the screen went white. When we took it to the service center they said they will need to replace the hard disk. I am not sure what I should do. Any suggestions?

Liquid damage from water spill is progressive, unfortunately.

802.1x Auth Error After Installing AirPort Update 2007-002 and 10.4.9

After installing the AirPort Extreme Update 2007-002 (and 10.4.9, but I doubt that update did it), I am unable to log into my campus's wireless network. I get the message "802.1x Authentication has failed. (Error: 1001 on port en1)"
I've double-checked the settings, and all looks good. Other Macs are able to log in fine but they do not have this update applied.
Other wireless connections from this computer work fine, including using another SSID on this wireless network using WPA/TKIP. Only the 802.1x auth is failing.
I'm a systems admin for the college, and I can see in the radius logs that an error is generated:
"Unexpected error. Possible error in server or client configuration."
I'm the only one getting this error. Anyone have any ideas about this?

I finally discovered what was going on. When doing either the 10.4.9 update or the Airport update, my /System/Library/Keychains/X509Anchors file was either corrupted or completely emptied. The file did remain with 0K size.
I started noticing that all SSL connections from the computer were failing (Safari, iChat, whatever) that depended on the Mac OS X components to do the SSL validation. (Firefox continued to work fine, as it has its own SSL stack.) I then ran the Keychain file check in Keychain, which alerted me to the exact file problem.
My wife also has a MacBook with the same version of Mac OS X, so I was able to copy her X509Anchors file to my computer and everything worked perfectly after that. SSL came back, iChat works, Safari works with SSL, and 802.1x works again.
Hope that helps someone else...

After the latest updates my idevices (phone, pad2 and mini) just won't appear in itunes. Have also updated drivers and re-installed itunes several times, but with no luck. Any help out there? PS: I am using PC....

Different cable? Checked in Device Manager to verify the proper driver is installed and also manually installed the driver?

PNG files don't work after iOS 7 update on iPad and iPhone

I have several PNG files stored on my CC account but when I start a new photoshop touch project and try to add the PNG it downloads as a blank image. The dotted outline is there but the image is blank. It used to work before iOS 7 and now it does not. Can someone help.
This started happening after iOS 7 update and im having the same issue on iPhone and iPad.

Time capsule stopped working after installing software update, no lights and reset did nothing. What do I do?

I can't get my time capsule to turn on after a software update. Reset button does nothing and it is pluged in to a live outlet. Is my time capsule dead?

I have all the latest updates on my Macs, and I have no problem at all.
If you applied the latest (7.4.1) QT update, your problem may be due to the fact that the System Requirements for QuickTime 7.4.1 for Tiger include Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later, and you show that you are using Mac OS X (10.4.3). You can check which QT version you have installed using the QuickTime Player > About QuickTime Player menu command.
If your QT version is an older one that is compatible with your Mac OS, and if you have not done so since you applied the QT update, repairing permissions may help you.
If the problem is somehow related to your iSight rather than to your QT software, Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight may help you identify and fix your problem.
Unless you have a compelling reason for not doing so, you should consider updating to the latest version of Tiger (10.4.11). To find out what improvements you are missing by staying with 10.4.3, see some of the "About the Mac OS X 10.4.xx Update" documents for updates later than 10.4.3. A couple of examples are:
• About the Mac OS X 10.4.6 Update (combo) and
• About the Mac OS X 10.4.11 Update
If you are interested, other "About..." documents are linked in this search list.
Because System Requirements for the latest combo applicable to your MacBook, Mac OS X 10.4.11 Combo Update (Intel), are for Mac OS X 10.4.4 or later, you will need at least two steps to upgrade from your Mac OS X (10.4.3), so pay careful attention to the System Requirements of any updates you plan to apply.

Is there any way to retrive or save my data after updating my phone and its locked, asking to restore to original settings in itunes.

If there is a passcode on your iPhone, which you don't know, there is no way around it. You'll have to restore factory settings. The passport is meant to protect sensitive data, and that is, what it does.

Iphoto quits unexpectedly after June 2013 update

I have a Macbook Pro running 10.6.8. I recently did the update from Apple issued on June 3, 2013 and now my iphoto doesn't open. It pulls up the window below each time I try to open. I am not sure the update had anything to do with this issue, but my computer started acting really crazy after I did the update. I am afraid if I delete Iphoto I will lose the photo's I have uploaded, since I have not backed it up to my external in about 4-5 months. Here is the error message I am receiving.........

Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

and when i turn on cellular data... network goes off zero and after 10 mins i get network coverage... !!

After December 2013 update PPro says merged clips are out of sync. They're not...

After I downloaded the latest update (December 2013) and opened my feature length film project, almost all of my sequences tell me that the merged clips (dual system) are out of sync. Yet, when playing them back, they are all perfectly in sync. In fact when I use 'slip into sync' option, the clips go OUT of sync. One clip, for instance says: Video +10:14, Audio -10:14. They all follow the same pattern. Any ideas what this was caused by? Should I just ignore it? Thanks.

same problem here, new merged clips are marked as out of sync (+- 10:15), allthough perfectly in sync.
this happens independently if i check the "use audio timecode from clip" option or not.
