Sony XBR55X800B no sound on just netflix and amazon prime video

I just got this new tv and the sound works perfect on cable tv (hdmi) , plex app (local video streaming) , chromecast (hdmi) and even works with the pandora app but the second i switch to netflix or amazon video no sound... i have contacted sony checked all the settings with them. They even did the whole remote tv access then i spoke to netflix which they concluded its my internet connection not allowing me to hear sound while picture is coming in great with no lag.. i have a sound bar (with arc) but the issue happens even when the soundbar is disconnected. Sony and netflix made it seem like i am the only one that has this issue, hard to believe so does anyone have any suggestions or should i just return the tv?

Start from the beginning. Disconnect soundbar and switch TV audio back to "TV Speakers" Turn off any Bravia Sync features and update software on the TV. Test Netflix with this configuration.
If that doesn't work try a HD video on You Tube. Next do a speedtest on your network with your PC, laptop, tablet, etc. You should have a minimum of 5-7 Mbps dl to stream HD content smoothly.
Next try running a network cable to your router instead of wifi.
If none of that works I'm out of ideas. I would definitely begin with a software update on the TV.

Amazon video and netflix apps are free.
They are region restricted.
If you do not live in a supported region you can not use the service.
What http configuration problem are you having?
Are you trying to violate terms of service by using a proxy?

Did you check the volume setting in that Flash Player?
Try to clear the Flash local storage and settings.
*Windows Control Panel > Flash Player > Storage: Local Storage Settings
**Remove a specific domain: Local Storage Settings by site
**Remove all domains: Delete All and Delete Data

Crackling and popping sound when playing music and watching youtube videos

there is a crackling and popping sound when i watch videos on youtube or play music/videos using vlc media player and windows media player. recently it has gotten to a point where it happens when windows is starting up or even when the laptop is required to play a sound for example when i plug in a removeable hardware such as thumbdrives

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read about your HP 2000 Notebook and getting a buzzing or popping sound while playing music and watching Youtube videos. Try performing a hard reset.
When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.
You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook that might have caused this.
You can try this
1. Right click the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner.
2. Click Playback Devices.
3. Click Speakers.
4. Click properties.
5. Click the advanced tab on the Properties window.
6. Change the Default Format drop-down to the highest quality.
7. Apply the properties.
8. Click OK to close the properties window.
What happens if you right click on the video while playing a video and take the check out of hardware acceleration. Shut the browser down and restart the notebook.
Have you checked for an update on the Active X.

Okay, so I signed up for Hulu Plus and my new (single) account is working on both my iPad and the PS3. Also, the component output on the PS3 seems to work fine with the Hulu content. However, the Hulu streaming performance on the PS3 seems a little rocky. On my first and second attempts to watch something the video would play for a few seconds and then pause for several more seconds, it was basically unwatchable.
The content on my iPad seemed okay, so it looks like a problem on the PS3. Also, Netflix on the PS3 was fine and I even watched the same episode of a TV show that stuttered badly on the PS3. After watching the entire show on Netflix I went back to Hulu and the PS3 was still having problems. Then, after about another 10 minutes of playback hickups the PS3 seemed to get better. Maybe Sony's version of Hulu Plus (or someone's server) is getting overloaded right now since Hulu on the PS3 just went mainstream today.

Netflix and amazon video streaming won't load

My netflix site wont stream video. I am getting a black screen with a rotating blue circle. The same case if I want to stream amazon videos. If I log out and use another user on the same computer (iMac) it works fine. I did reinstall silverlight, but since the second user account works I ruled that out in anycase. This problem happens on all browsers. I have stripped safari of add -ons with no luck. I have also disabled start up apps, no luck. Any suggestions?

What is different about the 'second user' account, from the admin or first user?
Is it a matter of browser setting, upgrade to browser, a default
still in effect, in a seldom used second user account?
In these details alone, probably is an answer.
Or a permissions issue, privileges issue, etc.
How current are shared plugins for internet?
Are the videos using Flash, or HTML5, other?
Is there a system log in Profiler, or Console
that would show a set of messages about it?
There has to be a trail of breadcrumbs....
maybe one that regular people can follow.
Sometimes cold trails are best for sniffy dogs.

Netflix and YouTube 4k videos - Ghosting and/or Flickering

I have a Model 58L8400U 4k TV
Whenever I try to watch Netflix or YouTube 4k videos the sceen starts to either ghost or flicker - I than have to unplug the TV for 3-5min and it will work fine again. This happens everytime you switch from watching satelite back to Netflix.
What is the problem?

Tried that and they are every bit of useless!!! They have zero clue as to what they are doing - All they want you to do is perform a master reset of the TV. Did that 3 tines with them and guess what, STILL THE SAME PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!

X1 and Amazon Prime & Netfix issue

At least once a week I will select my Amazon Prime or Netflix and will get an error on the tv about not being connected to the network. Usually I have to reboot everything. Most of the time it works the first time but sometimes I have to try a couple of times. And yes, I do wait at least 10-15 seconds before reboot. This is a frustrating pain because nothing has changed with my tv or anything else in the house. For a hard wired network connection which and a supposedly high tech system this type of problems should not be happening on such a frequent basis.

Price difference between iTunes and Amazon instant video

We've always purchased instant videos from Amazon, because we had TiVos to download them to. We recently upgraded to the XL4 in the living room, and minis in the other rooms. There is a copyright problem with the minis and we are unable to watch any purchased or rented movies from Amazon on them. They can only be watched on the XL4. I'm not a fan of roku because it isn't compatible with one of our tvs. I love the apple tv. I'd like to just put one in all the rooms, but I'm finding a big difference with the price of instant videos on iTunes HD, vs Amazon HD. Example: Haven season 1 and 2 are $19.99 on both iTunes and Amazon. Season 3 is $35 on iTunes and $19.99 on Amazon. If it were just a few dollars more, I'd buy it, but $15 is a big difference for 1 show.
Does anyone know if iTunes will start matching prices, or become more comparable with Amazon and Vudu?

All prices are set by the content providers, so it's the TV company that will need to change their prices for iTunes. Whether that will happen, only the providers will know.

This is like the holy grail of iPhone functionality. It is technically possible but doesn't fit Apple's (and/or Amazon's) business model, so will probably never see the light of day for that reason alone.

Will Apple TV develop an app for Amazon Prime? It's already available for iPhone and iPad. Why not Apple TV?

AppleTV does not support apps in the general sense - you get stock apps and that's it.
These are likely to be commercial tie-ins that Apple have with a small number of content providers.
Amazon Prime is not one of them.

IPhone and Amazon Prime movies

I currently have an Android phone and an Amazon Prime account. This allows me to download - free- thousands of movies and TV shows. I am thinking of upgrading my phone, and an iPhone is high on my list. This would integrate well with my other Apple products: MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPod.
Question that I have though is there an app on iPhone to dowload and view movies from Amazon? Since that is mainly an Android site I am concerned about compatability...

How can I make the volume buttons on my iPod Touch control ALL sounds - not just alerts and system sounds?

I would like to TOTALLY silence my iPod. I turn the volume all the way down using the buttons on the side, but this just silences alerts and system sound effects. Then I start a game, and the game sounds still play. Of course I can turn the volume down after the game starts, but by then I'm already busted :-)
I don't know if it's related, but...
I can plug in my headphones and then turn the game volume all the way down. But when I remove the headphones, the volume goes back up again.
