  • Sony Xperia Z1 push notifications problems

I've had my Xperia for about 2 months now and as of about 3 days ago my push notifications stopped coming through when I'm using mobile data. When I reconnect to my home wifi they all come through, but when I am out I have to go into apps (such as facebook, messenger, snapchat, gmail) to be able to see that I have notifications.
Additionally, I was going to try to uninstall and reinstall the apps but now the Play Store will not let me in. It tells me that I have to enable background data (which I do have enabled) and then when I click on the enable button that it pops up with it opens sync options.
Does anyone have a way to fix either of these problems? The push notifications is my biggest annoyance.
    Thanks for your help!

Then you likely have slightly more recent software and this menu has been changed to "Xperia Connectivity" in which case the Internet Settings option will be found under the "More" option in settings.

  • Sony Xperia T: After updating the browser, I can not open it

Hi, i just updated my firefox in my Xperia T phone (Android version 4.3), it crashes and not able to open up the browser.
When I tab on Firefox icon, this message appears:
    "Unfortunately, Firefox has stopped.
    press OK"
Can you help me with this?

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
The Firefox cache temporarily stores images, scripts, and other parts of websites while you are browsing. <br>
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies, do the following:
#Tap the menu icon located at the top right corner. This is the icon with 3 bars. On older Android devices you'll have to press the hardware menu key and then tap More.
    #Tap '''Settings'''.
#After that, you will be taken to the settings screen. In the settings screen, look under the section '''''Privacy & Security''''' and select '''Clear private data'''.
#You will then be taken to a list of what can be cleared. Select the following 2 for deletion:
    #*Cookies & active logins
    #*Cache
#After those have been selected, tap the '''Clear data''' button to actually clear the cache and cookies.

  • Sony Xperia L (C2105) charging problem

I will tell the whole history just in case, it might be relevant. It started with battery problems, it was charging at a very slow rate (4-5 hours)  and it was lasting 1 hour top. The camera was the cuplrit, it wasn't working at all and by disabling the camera app the phone worked fine for a week. Suddenly stopped charging now. When  the phone is on it doesn't recognize the charger not even the computer, no bottom led. The computer doesn't recognize the phone either. When the phone is off, if i connect the charger, then the bottom led turns red for a second, SONY logo appears, battery appears for another seconds and reboots... infinitely.I thought that the USB connector was the problem but i can connect it to my laptop in fastboot mode and flashmode, the phone is recognized in both modes, i even "repaired" the phone with Sony PC Companion and i'm having the same problems like before: no camera and no charging. I don't think it is a firmware problem, i've re-flashed the stock firmware from XPERIA Firmware and no success. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

thanks for replying so fast but i was hoping for some ideas, i have no intention to contact Sony. The phone is 2 years old out of warranty, if i can't repair it on my own then i will go buy another one. It's not worth the effort to contact some specialized departement to tell me that they can repair it for 100€ when i can buy a better new one for 150€. I think that i've asked for help in the wrong place

  • Sony Xperia Miro, failed update, bust phone - help!!!

I was updating the software on my phone via my laptop, but my laptop died during the update so the update failed. Now when I try to turn the phone on it won't go further than the Sony startup screen. How can I fix this???

I think you can do a SW repair with PC Companion, but I think it will delete all your settings and data.
Turn off your phone/disconnect from computer. Open PC Companion, go to Support Zone, Click on Start under Phone SW update, a pop-up should appear. Click on Repair my Phone and follow the instructions.
    Good Luck!

  • Sony Xperia C contacts loading problem

i have a problem when i search for any contacts it takes a long time for loading taking into consideration i disabled auto sync and filtering contacts that have phone numbers only. is it software problem or problem in my phone?

Strange. I would suggest that you try to boot your phone into safe mode to see if the problem may be related to any 3rd party app that you have installed in your phone:
    http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/How-to-boot-your-phone-into-safe-mode/m-p/348008#U348008
If the behavior persists in safe mode I would suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion:
    http://www.sonymobile.com/update
In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > click on the blue highlight (Repair my phone/tablet). Do this without the phone connected. Follow the instructions on screen to perform the repair.
Before repairing the software in your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to:

  • Sony xperia L crashes after software update to 15.3.A.0.26

I updated my Sony Xperia L C2104 yesterday to  15.3.A.0.26. Now, since today evening after an update through Google play store, Google + and chrome keep crashing and forcing the phone to reboot. The phone doesn't actually reboot completely but the screen blacks out for a couple of seconds and then it shows the loading screen, like when we switch on the phone, and then the screen turns on again in lock screen mode.
I tried to reboot the phone in safe mode, but that too is not happening. I also removed the battery, sim card and the memory card and put it back in again but the phone still is facing the same problem.

  • Sony Xperia E C1504 - Low Phone memory - only 54 MB free Memory on phone after update

I am using Sony Xperia E c1504 phone and facing memory problem. The downloaded applications are already moved to SD card and some of the inbuilt applications on phone are also moved on SD Card. Now there is no application which I can move on SD card by the simple way given in phone. Also I regularly cleans the cache by cleaner. All my photos are saved to SD card, no videos are taken so no problem of video memory. I have moved every possible element on SD card.
In this condition when I downloaded the new update of phone, it installed some more new applications like Google books, google movies, google games, google magazines etc. on my phone which have no option to move to SD Card. So my phone memory is very low. I uninstalled one inbuilt application Cricbuzz but still my phone is showing only 54 MB free phone memory. Now I can't update some applications due to low space on phone though I have 1.79 GB on internal storage free and 14.73 GB on SD card free memory.
Now how to manage these applications? Is there any way so that I can move some more inbuilt applications to SD card?
And what is rooting? please explain. Can I move applications on phone to SD card by rooting? If yes how?
Is there any other way to solve this problem?
I am new to android technology. Please help.

  • Sony liveware manager update problem

Hi, my xperia arc s is facing an update problem in the liveware manager. The current software version in my phone is 3.2.7 but whenever i try to update to version 3.3.10, there show me this message. 'Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again.' I cant uninstall the app as it is a built in app. Please help. Thanks.

@NightRequiem this is the same version as what I currently have without any problems. In this circumstance it would be worthwhile running a repair via PC Companion:
    1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
    2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.
Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.
    3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
    4. Phone Software Update.
    5. Start.
    6. Repair Phone
    7. Continue
    8. Accept data removal
    9. Next
    10. Wait for prepare
    11. Select Phone
    12. Follow the connectionn steps

  • Xperia T USB Connectivity problem after updating to Jellybean

    Hi,
This is the first problem I have had with my Xperia T. On the whole I love it.
I updated to Jellybean last week, and until now I have had no problems, and have been enjoying all the improvements.
But now when I try to sync with my PC, it just constantly connects then disconnects 2 seconds later, then re-connects etc. It charges perfectly with the same USB lead, and all my other USB gadgets work perfectly in all of my ports on my laptop. I have re-booted both devices several times, and that has not solved the problem. It's not the end of the world as I can use drop box to transfer files, but it does mean I can't charge from my laptop which I normally do when I'm out and about, and won't be able to do future software updates.
Any one else had this issue? or have a fix? Helpfull suggestions appreciated.
    Dan

Try disabling any antivirus/firewall software you have on the PC temporarily and see if this helps.

When i try to touch it, on the screen appears black lines, green and purple spots. I didn't dropped, , neiher make it wet. I tried to repair the phone with Pc Companion but it doesn't work. It is very annoying to not see normally your screen. I hope you understand my situation and to receive your answer.,

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I'm sorry to hear that. But if you have tried with a software repair via PC Companion but the problem persist, it sounds more related to a hardware problem. I suggest that you visit nearest service center to have the phone exmained by a technician. You can contact your local support team for further information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way:

  • My Sony Xperia Z won't start /turn on after failed update attempt

Try this  connect your phone to the wall charger > press andhold power & volume up > let it charge for 1 or 2 hours > after 2 hours > repair your phone with SUS Update Service (SUS) http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/ http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software%20Downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.12.5.exe PC Companion (PCC)  Bridge (for Mac)   Alternatives on How to backup Xperias http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/36355

A similar problem to the other posters, my Sony Xperia Z won't start after a failed update attempt. Following the support suggestions on the Sony website (http://www.sonymobile.com/sg/support/faq/w8-walkman-phone/update-software/software-update-failed-ps101/) failed. Solutions posted on this forum thread (http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/My-Sony-Xperia-Z-won-t-start-turn-on-after-failed-update-attempt/m-p/401787#M20133) have also failed. When I plug the phone into the wall charger, the LED comes on red, the SONY logo appears on my screen, followed by a message indicating that "The Software update failed. Make sure that your phone is connected to the computer and try again.", and then the phone turns itself off. The cycle repeats itself with no indication that my phone's actually being charged. Since it is unable to charge, plugging the phone into my computer does not trigger the update process to start, so I can't "try again", as the message so helpfully suggests. The computer also does not recognise my phone as being connected despite following the PC Companion's instructions to 1) unplug the device, 2) remove and replace the battery (which I can't do, because the battery is built in), and 3) turn it back on (which, again, I can't do, because the phone won't charge in the first place), before 4) plugging it back into the computer. Please help... Thank you.
