Sony Xperia M4 Vertical lines on display

I bought my Sony Xperia M4 Smart phone in Khobar, KSA last month. But, within 20 days of use, it is showing Vertical lines on the display, even it comes on photos also. I have given the phone to Sony Service centre(Modern Electronics- Khobar, It is in a remote place and not easy to approach everytime) two weeks before, it is still there under service for more than two weeks.I am very much disappointed with Sony, ofcourse i am a fan of Sony brand. Now i am feeling that i choosed wrongly this brand since i could not use the phone for this long time.It should be a manufacturing defect (It has no damage and not dropped anytime) but i am the one suffering. Will sony consider this matter and provide a positive solution. My Service Order is 601021721.

  • Mid 2011 MacBook air vertical lines on display

While sending à webform today my air display all of à sudden displayed à bunch of vertical lines. I couldnt see anything so i held power button down to restart and it restarted to gray screen no apple logo but 2 vertical lines representing my 2 login avatars. I clicked around aimlessly until i got lucky to click on an icon then entered my password and it restarted and loaded everything as normal except you couldnt see anything except a bunch of multi colored vertical lines. Tried smc reset and pram reset but it still is not working. Not sure where to go from here. No apple stores in sweden within 500miles either. Might try to go buy an external monitor plug to see if it will display correct on external monitor. Any ideas?

So, I guess the adapter came with the display just in case I had a compatible Mac. I should have noted that on the card. Now, about the rest of the stuff in my Apple mystery box...that's for another day.
Thanks, seb101, for your quick reply!

  • IMac won't go past apple logo screen and vertical lines on display

I have an old white iMac that won't boot. When booting up the screen has vertical purple lines and I can see the Apple logo. The little "dial" just spins and spins. Does anyone know how to fix this? thank you for any and all help.

The vertical lines are indicative of a hardware problem. It is possible (likely) that this is also related to the inability to start up as well. It's almost impossible to diagnose and explain repairing hardware in these forums, so I think it best if you take the computer to a repair shop that is familiar with Macintoshes.

  • My late 2007 Mac Book Pro has tiny vertical lines in the display intermittently.

Intermittent, tiny vertical lines in display of my refurbished Mac Book Pro late 2007 , A1226 model.
Have replaced the actual display screen.
Apple Genius Bar tested hardware and all OK, although the display was working by the time I got there.
It is fine right now, I am using it for this post, but is hard to read small letters and numbers when it acts up.
Even when the lines appear the display shows bright and crisp on any external monitor.
Does anyone have any insight to this problem?
    Thanks !

It could be the inverter cable or board is beginning to get frayed.
If attaching an external display shows the lines, you know the problem is direct to the videochip itself.
Some games are videochip specific in their requirements and may trigger the issue anyway, if the videochip is not on their supported list.

  • Cinema Display Vertical Line

    Hi,
My Cinema Display (LCD, 21" I believe, came with Powermac G4 MDD 2003) has had a pink / red vertical line in it for quite some time now. It seems to sometimes change color, but is usually redish. It sits right in the middle of the screen, and goes all the way down from the top to the bottom. It is two pixels wide.
I have used another Cinema Display the same on this computer, and no lines, and tried this display on another Powermac, and I have lines.
Are there any warranties for this sort of issue? Any fixes?
    Thanks for your help,
    Jordan

Lines appearing on the monitor is a product fault with some of the Apple monitors. A quick search of the web will yield 100's of identical reports of the same problem.
I started with one line and now I have 3. You should expect the same. The fact that Apple have refused to address or even a acknowledge this product fault is a disgrace.
I'm sorry BSteely but your suggestion that we should simply replace our monitors because its out of warranty is ********. A product fault is a product fault pure and simple...Its not like Apple monitors are inexpensive, I have several other non-apple monitors and have never had this issue with them. It is the manufacturers responsibility to insure that a product leaves the assembly free of fault.
This is not an isolated problem but a problem in manufacture and Apple need to do something about it to restore goodwill, as I simply will not buy another apple monitor until they prove that this issue has been addressed.

  • I have a white vertical line down the right side of my internal brand new macbook pro 13" display

I have a white vertical line down the right side of my internal brand new macbook pro 13" display. I've done the following:
-Shutdown the computer, and restarted in Safe Mode by pressing the Shift key after the restart tone
-Shutdown the computer, and restarted by pressing Command, Option, P & R after the restart tone
-Checked display resolution, Best for Retina
-Hooked it up to a Dell external monitor and via projection to screen. There are no lines on the external or secondary screens
-Just curious, I ran a color utility which can not repair 4 items, maybe this is another issue.
This is a brand new Macbook Pro, just out of the box. It was fine for two days without any issues, fine last night while in use, opened it up this morning with the line.
Anyone now how I can fix this on my own?

If you are within the first 14 days from the date of purchase, return the MBP for a refund or an exchange.  If you are after the first 14 days of the date of purchase, have the MBP repaired under the warranty provisions.

  • How to use the second display for installation OS in my vertical lines iMac

My 17" iMac display is full of vertical lines, it is unuseable. Does anyone know how to use the second display for Mac OS X or disable the first display for installation Mac OS x ?

Go to: *System Preferences > Displays* and select the Arrangement tab, then relocate your Menu bar by dragging it to the other display.
Unfortunately there is no Hardware or Software switch to turn off the iMac's Internal Display.

  • Vertical lines in calendar gone from display

The most common format for calendars is for each day to be bordered by horizontal and vertical lines, in Month view. This is indeed how my calendar month looks when printed. However, vertical lines are gone when viewed on my MacBook Pro display (Calendar v. 7.0 and OSX 10.9.5). It bothers me, in the same way a wristwatch with tic marks, instead of numbers on the dial, requires more attention. Someone said to me " I have vertical lines on my calendar." Did Apple omit the vertical lines from Calendar month view or is this abnormal. Can I get my vertical lines back?
    Thanks
    H

No,  very uncommon.  Only seen same on a very few older Airs.   Possible break in the monitor cable to your LCD LED backlit monitor. Also possible is bad connector at logic board to monitor cable on female connector on logic to cable. Also possible is bad GPU (still logic).  Either way its only 2 possibilities on parts.
If you're in warranty. thats great.
Backup ALL data to external HD....and make a call for warranty work on your Air.
The Air is very easy to service to replace parts for same.  Your down time should be minimal.

  • How can I fix my display that had vertical lines when I open/close the lid?

Just a few minutes ago, as I was adjusting the Macbook's lid, I got a huge vertical line showing on my display. The line goes away after I fiddled with the lid a little. Now, every time I open/close the lid, the lines sometimes pop in and out, always in the same area.
I'm scared the wires connecting to the Macbook's display is loose or something. What can I fix it?
Here's a picture of how it looks like: http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/7683/picture4gj.png

Sounds like the LVDS cable might have come loose somewhere or is faulty, would not say it's the LCD just yet. If it's under warranty just take it to any apple store or local service provider. If it's out of warranty I would not suggest taking to an Apple Store because they will just quote you the whole display, but an Apple Service Provider might be able or wiling to attempt to just repair the faulty part in the display(just know your model display does not come apart easily) http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1434 , good luck

  • Display Problem:  4 vertical lines (blue, pink, lime, lime)

I was wondering if there's anything that can be done to eliminate the 4 vertical lines in the display... I can still use it as is, but it's aggravating...

If you are under Apple Care, return it for repair. This is likely a compression fit connector failing between the panel and the driver board.

ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5s. In some cases while you wait. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. • Table data needs to be displayed with horizontal and vertical lines

    Hi,
I need to display the data of the table in the SAP script which is having both horiziontal and vertival lines.
the out put needs to looks as it in Excel...where there are multiple records with 5 fixed coulmns each seprated from one another by horizonalt and vertical lines..
Can you let me know how to proceed in SCRIPT ,,,, where the number of records might vary ..and also ..it might continue to second page..
    Regards
    Senthil

well it is possible but quite tricky.
All you got in SAP-SCRIPT to achieve this is the BOX-Statement.
The BOX statement works with variables for XPOS, YPOS, WIDTH and HEIGHT. what you need to do is:
    - calculate those variables during runtime
    - add box-statements with those variables.
to calculate those variables you need to count used lines and so on. i hope i showed you a way, rest is a lil brainwork then.
    regards
