  • My Sony KF60XBR800 keeps shutting off while also triggering the surge protector. Solutions?

My Sony KF60XBR800 keeps shutting off. At the same tine, it causes the surge protector to trigger and shut off the power. I have to manually turn back on the surge protector. The only other component that's on is my Directv receiver, which seems to be working fine. I've replaced the lamp once before but the symptoms were different. I don't think the lamp will cause the power to blow on all my components or am I wrong? has anyone seen this before?

It turns out i had a defective surge protector. Once i replaced it, the TV has been working fine.

  • My Z10 shut off itself almost twice in a day and its happen everyday....

     Hi guys,
I just wanna share and say that I'm totally dissapointed with this new product, its not common for gadget that we called smartphone. My Z10, after about a month usage, it started to get trouble and error every where which are :
    - The screen always goes dreary slowly and then its shut Off, and I must remove the battery more than three times, then the device start again.
    - BBM offenly restart by itself, and Re Invite again in all groups BBM I have.
    - the Camera suddenly stop working and the device goes Off
    - The signal is totally unstable
    - The battery is suck, twice until three times a day I must charge
    - etc.
That is really annoying and not worthed for a gadget that we called smartphone, actually I like with the new style "peek to see the hub motifications" but all that problems above really annoying.
Please is there anyone that can help me with that issues. Thanx.

  • IPhone 4S - shutting off itself.

Just bought it less than a week ago, from the Apple store. It's shut down on its own twice - just going straight off. Plus has rebooted alone at least once that I know of.
Is this defective or is there a software problem with the OS?
    Help really appreciated.

If no change after powering the iPhone off and on and/or after a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release, the next step is restoring the iPhone. Try from the iPhone's backup first. If no change after that, try as a new iPhone or not from the backup.
If no change after restoring as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.

  • Sony Xperia Z1 will turn on when charging but as soon as it's taken off charge, it turns off.

My phone was on charge connected to my PC on about 20% battery when it suddenly turned itself off. It refused to turn on so I plugged it into a wall charger and then after I let it charge for 20 minutes, I was able to turn it on. However, as soon as I took it off charge, it turned itself off again and now, when I put it on charge, the battery life flicked from 23% to 45% to 0% whilst it's plugged into the wall and it keeps turning itself off. Any help?

  • Sony KDL-46V5100 random shut-off 15-20 sec.

My Sony Bravia KDL-46V5100 (V series) works perfectly except it will randomly shut off for a few seconds (15-30) and then restart.  Everything is exactly as was and program just misses a few seconds.  This started when I moved to a new apartment several months ago.  I have changed cable boxes and power cord.  This will sometimes happen several times an evening.  Any suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear about what is happening with your TV. Do you notice any indicator light that is flashing on the front panel of the (ex. Pic Off/Timer, Standby or Power) when the issue happens? Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the TV.
    Do a Power Reset.
    1. Turn off TV.
    2. Unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet.
    3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
    4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. (If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.)
    5. Turn on the TV.
If issue persists after doing the steps, reset the TV to factory default settings.
    1. Turn on the TV.
    2. Using the supplied remote, press and hold the UP arrow button.
    3. While holding the UP arrow button press the POWER button on the TV itself.
    4. When the TV goes off, release the POWER and UP arrow button.
    5. The TV will turn on by itself and the initial setup screen will be displayed. Just follow the on-screen prompts to finish the setup.
If the issue still persists after doing all the troubleshooting steps, that may be an indication that the TV is for service. Please refer to this link to locate the nearest Sony authorized service center in your area.
If my post answers your question, please mark it as an "Accepted Solution."

  • Can anyone help? Have a Xperia X10i keeps switching itself off & on when using the internet.

This has only started happening after the last update. After approx 5 mins if I am on facebook or playing a game it turns itself off & on all the time. Texting & making phone calls is fine.
I have tried to update again but it won't let me saying it is up to date.  Firmware version 2.1 update 1   if that helps any.
Not sure if theres anything in the settings I need to change or maybe I need to install a software program?
Any help/advice is very much appreciated, thank you

I suggest that you do a update or reinstall of the phone software via the Update Service program. www.sonyericsson.com/updateservice
Hopefully will that solve your problem.
If you get the option to update I suggest that you select to update and also factory reset the phone.
If you only get the option to reinstall you already have the latest version, this will automatically result in a master reset too.

  • My iPod wont turn on anymore. I have had my iPod since the end of January of 2012, Last night it shut off on me. It keeps trying to reboot itself, but all it does it show the apple symbol, then the screen goes white and reboots again. I need help. :(

    Hi, My name is Cassie.
I bought my iPod off of amazon just around the end of January of this year (2012). Last night I was playing around on my iPod. Listening to pandora, and editing pictures. I got to a picture and clicked edit, and then my iPod shut off. It rebooted itself and seemed to be running as if nothing had happened. I put my music back on and went back to the picture and tried to edit it again. I clicked the edit button and the ipod shut off again. This time, it kept rebooting. It went to the apple symbol to turn on and about thirty seconds, the time it normally takes to turn on, the whole screen went white and then shut off and tried rebooting again. It kept doing this over and over again. After a while, it did eventually stop, but only to a completely white screen. It was like that all night long because I fell asleep. (gave up on it). It is now the afternoon and after I held the lock button and the home button down the screen when off. I let it sit for about a half an hour, then I tried turning it on again. But it still is doing the same thing. I have no idea what I could have done to make it do this. Unfortunalty, I am not home to connect it to my own iTunes, but regaurdless, it wont even connect to the computer. I did have my ipod plugged in the whole time it was rebooting and shutting off last night. It was connected to my wall jack which normally works fine. But even having it plugged into the computer as it is now, its still doing the same thing. I am dissapointed that I might end up loosing everything that I have on it. I have not been able to sync it to my computer to save all the apps and pictures and music I have stored on it. I really do hope I can get some help or advice!
    Thank You!!

My IPhone shut off by itself and I can't turn it back on. My lock screen button is broken and I tried plugging it into the wall but nothing happened. Can you guys please help me.

IIf the battery was completely drained it might take some time before the phone will respond. Wait at least 30 minutes with the phone connected to the charger. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. If the phone starts up let it continue to charge until it's 100%.
if the broken button will not let you do the reset Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

  • Has any one figured out how to fix an issue I'm having. My iPhone 5 randomly shuts off by itself. Then it won't turn on when i try to hook it up to iTunes it says its in recovery mode. so then i hit restore and its been stuck on waiting for iPhone.

This happened after I did a software update on my phone about a month and a half ago. My phone will randomly shut off by itself and wont come back on. I had spoke with an apple repair person over the phone who told me to hold in the home button and then plug it into my computer. When the iphone said that there was an error and gave him a code he suggested that I send it in. So I did and about a week and a half later I get it back and its on. Yet the problem still occurs. It shut off twice in the same day and for several hours would not come on. When it did I called apple again and they ran a diagnostic on my phone and said it was a software issue. So then why was it not fixed? They told me they could not duplicate the problem. And now it happens about once or twice a week now. And its happening right now. I have it plugged into my computer and the apple logo with a bar below it has been on for about 20 min now. And itunes is still saying "waiting for iphone."

    Hello Elliiee,
The steps detailed below can help stabilize your iPhone.
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

  • My iphone shuts off by itself, and refuses to charge to any source.

I bought an ulnocked iPhone 4 a week ago in Hawaii. I'm from Argentina, so I got back and asked for a microsim card in my local carrier (Claro), which took about 4 days (they're annoying). When I finally activated my iPhone, I tried to charge it in an iMac, and all I got was the plug icon. iTunes DID recognize the device, but it was not charging. I plugged it to a wall source. The same thing happened. Then, I made a Restore via iTunes. No luck. I tried upgrading the IOS to 5.1. No luck again. The battery percentage stayed always the same. Afterwards, it started to shut off by itself. Connected to a source or not. Everytime the phone was ON again, the battery percentage became updated, which suggested me that there was occurring some charging...
The next day, I took my iPhone to a Reseller here (called iPoint -there are no Apple Stores in Argentina-) and told my problem, but, when I connected the phone there, the bolt icon finally appeared. I thought the problem was solved, but when I came back home, i realised that even the icon was there, the battery percentage didn't change either. Then it commenced to turn itself off again and again. This happens more quickly if I have the iPhone connected to a power source, but it happens anyway if it's not...
I'm feeling like I can't rely on Apple anymore as a safe choice. It use to be a warranty of perfection...
I'm a bit desperate, hope someone can help me...
    Thanks!

I've had trouble with my Macbook since the first month I bought it. I've replaced the hard drive 3 to 4 times. Now some programs won't work or shut off by itself. Is it possible to ask for a complete exchange of products?

    This may help you: http://store.apple.com/us/help/returns_refund
It would appear that you can ask for an exchange but it doesn't specify any time frame... Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can add to this.
By the way, if you've replaced the drive so many times, perhaps there's something else going on elsewhere.

  • Early 2011 MacBook Pro shutting off all by itself

Early 2011 MacBook Pro 11" shutting off all by itself recently.
I had the logic board replaced 11 months ago because it started to shut off more and more until it refused to boot up again.
Now I am going through the same problem. Is this common?

    OK, in that case:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    Do the following:
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Upgrading to Lion or Mountain Lion will not solve the problem.
