Sony Xperia Z2 maximum supported write/read speed for MicroSD Cards

I am looking to buy one microSD card for my Xperia Z2 Phone (6503). My question is:  how fast it can write data to an SD card. For what I know, these speeds depend of SD Card controller. If I will know approximative numbers I can acquire adequate microSD card. Right now I am trying to decide between: SanDisk SDSDQX-064G-U46A Extreme Plus 64 GB - 80 MB/s SanDisk SDSDQUA-128G-G46A Ultra 128 GB - 30MB/s Writing speeds for these microSD Cards are half of indicated reed sped numbers. I like 128 GB capacity of Ultra Card, but will not hesitate to buy faster 64 GB Extreme Plus Card.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

If you use 4K recording like features, you might need to get a high speed SD!(go for the Maximum speed you can)
So I think Extreme plus would be better in this case, but if your phone is everything for you (just like me) use the maximum capacity (Which has a better speed as well, otherwise useless) I use a class 10 128 GB!
As far a I know, I think even 30 MBP will be enough for a 4K video!

  • Ext4 format support for microSD cards on Galaxy S5?

Can we get ext4 format support for microSD cards on Galaxy S5? New permissions that come on KitKat break some of my apps that need local storage. The enhanced permissions available with EXT4 should fix this as that is the internal Flash format. "Use the cloud" is a non-starter so don't even suggest it.

Not directly, but as a large customer they have a big say in what gets loaded in the ROM as evidenced by the many (unwanted) preloaded apps. Adding EXT4 file system support to restore Verizon's end customer user experience is something they can insist on. It is a simple requirement to add when the end manufacturer builds a custom ROM for Verizon. The underlying system already supports it and alternative ROMs (CM) have been created with that feature. I'm just not ready to install alternative ROM code on a phone that was just released, and only a week in my possession.

4k Read Speed MUCH SLOWER than without Raid 0 (~20-25 mb/s)

Not exactly sure, I pulled those benchmarks off of notebookreview.  All I know from reading the forum is that HP Envy 15's in  RAID 0 seem to be severely underperforming 4k read speeds relative to the same SSD's  not in RAID 0.  The 4k random read is the MOST IMPORTANT benchmark for real world performance.
Other posts in the old HP forum have cited that disabled C1E could possibly fix the 4k read issue, however the Envy 15 seems to have no way to access this option in the BIOS.

  • SD card reader speed for X200

    Hi everyone,
I'm going to try using readyboost, does anyone know the read/write speed of the SD card slot?
Or do you have recommendations on using USB vs. SD card?
I guess safest is to use USB.
    Thanks,
    HN

if you have around 3 gig of ram, the readyboost doesn't do anything for your computer speed.

  • Sony Bridge for Mac doesn't work with my Sony Xperia J

I have installed Sony Bridge for Mac version 3.7.1, but it won't connect to my Sony Xperia J which I have only had for 3 months.
I get the error "Could not connect to your Xperia device. Please disconnect and reconnect it again. Restart the device if the problem persists". All the time.
I have tried all of the suggestions in the error message. I have also tried reinstalling Sony Bridge for Mac, to no avail.
I am running Mac OS X 10.9.2 on an iMac. I am also using the correct USB lead - the one supplied with the phone.
The Mac system log shows this error:
Apr  3 20:42:35 robins-imac.default Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac[973]: BUG in libdispatch client: kevent[EVFILT_WRITE] delete: "No such file or directory" - 0x2
I suspect that whoever wrote Sony Bridge for Mac did not try it on OS X 10.9.2.
I am seriously thinking of getting rid of this phone and getting one that works properly with the Mac - ie, not a Sony phone. Sony always seem to have problems with supporting Macs, for some bizarre reason.

    Hi Yorkshirecomposer,
I will ask the development crew about the system log error. Additionally, could you provide me with error logs to send them as well?
Here’s how to get error logs from Sony Bridge for Mac:
    1. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the "Phone" menu. Select "Clear logs" to remove all old logs and get a clean start
    2. Reproduce the problem you're having, whether it's connecting the phone, importing photos, doing backup...
    3. In BfM, hold the "alt" key down while selecting the ”Xperia” menu. Select "Export logs"
    4. On the computers desktop there should now be a file named "SonyBridgeForMacLogs_[date].zip
    5. PM that file to me or post the contents here
    Best Regards,
    David

  • Maximum Supported resolution on graphics card???

Does anyone know the maximum supported resolution on the MacBook graphics card? I'd like to see if i could get a cheaper and bigger display than the ones made by apple. Any info would be appreciated.

No, that's just for the internal display.
Here's the info from Apple's hardware documentation
Extended Desktop Mode- In extended desktop mode, the resolution of the two displays can be set independently. In this mode, the maximum external display resolution supported by the MacBook is 2048 x 1536 at 60 Hz for analog displays and 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz for digital displays.
1920x1200 is the native resolution for the 23" Apple display, the 24" Dell display, and probably some others. They work great with Macbooks.

  • Slow Music CD & Film DVD read speed

Hello, I have the late 2008 mbp with a matshita superdrive.
I am finding read speeds for music and film discs to be very slow. Activity window shows it to be 2mb/s peaking at 4mb/s. Data discs read at 8mb/s. The drive is audibly spinning faster with data discs.
So importing music to itunes or converting dvds for my ipod touch is painfully slow. Cpu usage is nowhere near maximum and i have even copied the discs to test conversion speed from the harddrive.
My best guess is that apple has reduced the drive speed when playing these discs so the superdrives themselves are not so loud as to ruin the listening/watching experience.
Has anyone else experienced this? If I am correct is there a way to change the drive speeds for different media.
    Thanks in advance.

I too am experiencing the same problem. I am currently in Iraq, and my wife sends me videos of my daughters that she burned to DVD. The videos are not too large, but they take FOREVER to transfer to my laptop. The drive spins up as you mentioned, then slows down and never speeds up again. It doesn't matter if the media is DVD or CD, the transfer speed is always slow. I hope that a solution presents itself soon. Obviously I do not have a local Apple store that I can take my machine into, and I am loathe to be without a computer for 6-8 weeks to send it back and forth.

  • Sony File Commander really doesn't save files on sd card - they vanished after restart

Like in the subject. I've Sony Xperia Z3 dual sim version - 16GB + 64GB Kingston SD card. I was recording very important meeting with my phone. But after a few hours the internal space was full and I moved all of the recordings to my sd card using Sony File Commander. The files where there. But I have to restart my phone and I was so surprised that after doing that all of my files on sd card that I've moved using SFC where gone. I've lost very important stuff.
I'm using Sony Audio Recorder and this program can save recordings only to internal storage. There is no option in settings to change that. Please help! Sony, help!
Going back to factory settings, uninstalling software updates and cleaning data of SFC didn't solve the problem. All versions of SFC have this problem.

    alexdon wrote:
I think this is something related to the microSD cards themselves. Have you tried others?
I'm using two Kingston 64 GB SD cards. The same issue is on my Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. When I remove my SD card and plug it directly through my SD/USB adapter to my computer I can easily cut and paste any files on it and there is no problem with them at all.

  • MBP won't read microSD card with adapter

My MBP won't recognize/read/mount a microSD card when I put it in an adapter and then a card reader. Is there anything I can do to make it see the card?

I've used both a Griffin expresscard34 5 in 1 reader (mine) and a USB SanDisk Mobile Mate SD+ (a friend's). I'm using the adapter that came with my microSD card to make it fit in a normal SD slot. When I put it in it doesn't see it at all, not in Disk Utility, not System Profiler. My Griffin reader shows up in System Profiler though. But if I let it sit in my computer for a while(5 min) sometimes it gives me a message that the disk I inserted is not supported, then it shows up in Disk Utility. It says that it's unformatted, I've tried to format it, repair it, erase it, nothing works. When I try to format it, I get an error saying it failed because of an input/output error. I know that the microSD card itself is fine, because my friend's reader has a microSD slot and it works when I use it. I just want my reader to work because i spent $30 plus shipping. so any help would be great.

Hi... I would like to purchase a Tablet Sony Xperia Z 2 10.1 (the last one of the Z series) and I was told that Adobe does not support Sony anymore.... I need to be able to open and read Adobe PDF files and I would like to know if this tablet can still use Flash Player...
Is there anyo who can help me with this? I asked in the shop and I was told "yes of course" , but when I contacted Sony directly I was advised to check with Adobe as apparently in the recent months Adobe and Sony haven't been getting along anymore...

You may be mixing up two entirely different Adobe products.
    1. Adobe Flash Player. Needed to view web pages designed with Flash. Not needed to view PDF files. Not available for Android (not just Sony).
    2. Adobe Reader. Reads PDF files. However, the Android can also read most PDF files without needing Adobe Reader.

Greetings! Is this possible to enable NFC Host-based Card Emulation (HCE) support in Sony Xperia A2 SO-04F phone? Sony Xperia A2 SO-04F is a Japan version of the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact D5503, so I've placed my question here. But it have a different Sony CXD2235AGG NFC/FeLiCa chip and a modified Android NFC stack. If HCE support could be added only in updated firmware, please, let me know where I could ask about such possibility. Thanks a lot for your answers!

  • Maximum charge rate for Sony Xperia Z2?

    Hi
Does anyone know whats the maximum input charge for a Sony Xperia Z2?

You shouldn't exceed the battery capacity but for a healthy use,you should use 1500-2000 (max) mAh adapters.
