Sony z3 stuck in airplane mode.

My Z3 will not come out of airplane mode. Tried every thing including a complete reset to basics. Anyone else seen this ?

I have the exact same problem, Markz3. Did u manage to find a solution to this problem? Could it be a hardware issue like a messed up antenna? Markz3 wrote:When the 'phone powers up, if you press the power button on the side the Airplane Mode is always ON. If you switch it off it goes off but there is still no sevrice. Looking through services menu shows the box for airplane mode un-ticked. If you set it and turn it off again the power button mode says it's  still on. If you tick and use the power mode to turn it off the service menu option un ticks but there is still not service. When trying to make a call it says you need to turn the flight mode off.

  • Ipad mini stuck in airplane mode and won't reset

My ipad mini is stuck on airplane mode and I can't take it off.  I therefore don't have access to wifi.  It keeps asking me to enter my facetime login but I can't do that.  It also won't let me reset the phone.  Please help, any ideas?

Have you tried a restore in DFU mode? Sometime when a normal restore doesn't work, a DFU restore does the trick.
Entering DFU Mode on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
Plug your device into your computer with a USB cable.
    Turn off the device.
Hold the Power button for 3 seconds.
Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds.
Release the Power button but keep holding the Home button.
After about 15 seconds you will be alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode.
Make sure that when it says in iTunes that it is in restore mode that the iPad's screen is blank, that means it's in DFU mode.
    Hope it helps

  • Stuck in Airplane mode

My Charge is stuck in Airplane mode. I have turned it off then on, removed the battery and also the sd card. Nothing works. I now own a 2 day old $300 paperweight. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks jim

make sure your mobile data is turned on... from the home screen at the top swipe your finger down and the second icon from the left should be illuminated...if not tap the icon and it should turn yellow. You can also go to menu, settings, wireless & networks, scroll down to mobile networks, make sure the checkmarks are lit on use packet data and data roaming. See if that helps

Did you try the Nokia Software Recovery Tool as well?
If you re-applied the firmware again successfully and you still have no IMEI in Windows Phone » menu » settings » about » more info – in that case, I would give my phone to my retailer, who in turn sends my phone over to local, but genuine Nokia Care for further inspection.

  • Toshiba Satellite S50-B stuck in Airplane mode with Windows 10

Hi folks, Satellite S50-B has some LAN and WiFi adapter issues with Windows 10. I updated my operating system from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 today. The transition was smooth, however, my LAN and WiFi adapters were completely dormant and stayed unrecognized by the new OS. The new OS kept showing "Airplane Mode" ON. After spending a couple of hours trying to fix the issues, I decided to return to Windows 8.1. Both the adapters are working fine after reverting back to windows 8.1. P.S. to Toshiba: Can you please fix these issues? D

Yes, it appears your model is on the list.  Go HERE and enter your COMPLETE model number as in my examples below, click on Drivers and Updates and select Windows 10 64 bit and you will find all the drivers available for Win 10 for your machine. You can download any you need.

  • IPhone stuck during software update, in airplane mode

    HINT:
Make sure you are not in airplane mode when performing an iPhone software update. If you do, then you will get an iTunes alert saying ...
"The iPhone "(name of iPhone)" cannot be used with iTunes because the information required for activation could not be obtained from the iPhone. Check that the SIM card is inserted in your iPhone and that it is not PIN-locked."
To get out of airplane mode: slide the emergency call slide, punch in any number, hit CALL, an alert will pop up asking you to turn off airplane mode, .....
    NOTE:
Apple could eliminate this problem by (1) blocking all incoming calls during syncs and updates and (2) checking to see if the phone is in airplane mode before allowing an update to occur.

Thank you! Thank you! I was about to spend forever on hold for Apple support to help get me out of airplane mode! I forgot I was in airplane mode when I started updating the phone to 2.1.
Thanks so much for saving me a needless call!

  • I recently switched to Verizon. In some areas it goes down to 3G, but then moving to an area I know has good 4G, it remains stuck in 3G until I turn airplane mode on then off again. Is there any way to fix this without having to cycle through airplane mod

Phone is LG G3. I find it odd that I have to cycle through airplane mode to fix this particular issue.

There has been no improvement thus far.
I recently switched from AT&T for a cheaper price, but so far my experience connection-wise across Chicago has been absolutely terrible. Where I used to get 4-5 bars 4GLTE in my apartment at 60640, I now get 3G if I'm lucky (have NEVER seen 1X before on AT&T even in the most remote of locations).
I also have poor connections near my work at 60611. Had (again) a bar of 1X and the person next to me had 3 bars 4G LTE with AT&T again.
So far plenty of regrets... and doing my research, I see many complaints in Chicago LTE services. Hoping there is a fix out there soon.

  • Stuck in headphone mode

    Stuck in headphone mode

This solution is credited to arvinmicheal. My IPad was stuck in the headphone mode. This is in spite of resetting the unit and numerous toggle switching, etc. The solution for me was to 1. Put away the hair drier, vacuum, blower, etc. 2. Switch you settings to and from Airplane mode. This solution work for my IPad.

  • Stuck in headphone mode except for ringtone

  • My iPod Touch is stuck in recovery mode after I left it on while updating!!!

I was updating my ipod touch 3rd generation (ios 4.3, i think) and I saw a wasp and left the computer on in the middle of the updating process and now the ipod is stuck in recovery mode and it says the only way to get it out is to recover it, but that will erase everything!!! HELP ME!!! until i get an answer      I HATE YOU, APPLE URGG
operating system: whatever the latest available to itouch is.

Without knowing what the error message said all I can suggest is:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IdeaPad A1, what does Airplane Mode really do?

    Hello-
Got my A1 in yesterday, charged it up and turned it on. First impressions, positive. Nice cosmetics, decent responsiveness. A bit nonintutive in the human interface department. It got on my password-protected wireless LAN just fine, it seemed. And web browsing was OK, fits and starts. I went to update the firmware, and I noticed the pattern: every 30 seconds or so, the WLAN link indicator would blink out, of course interrupting the firnware download. But (good engineering at work), the download resumed when the link came back up. It took about 75 repeats, but the new firmware eventually made it down the airlink to the A1. Only one of the promised two update files was delivered; this was apparently enough to upgrade from version 9 to 10. I really hoped that the upgrade would solve the airlink instability problem. It did not. I will consult Lenovo support and see what happens.
In pondering the reasons for the airlink problem, I explored the A1 menus a bit. And came away confused. When I checked my battery usage, over half of my power was consumed by something called "Cell Standby". Whaaat? Do I have a SIM-equipped IdeaPad? [No, at least no SIM slot is apparent]. Maybe "Airplane Mode" would help. But Airplane Mode "turns off all wireless connections". That should kill WiFi, maybe even the satellite receivers. Except it didn't. WiFi worked just fine in Airplane Mode (OK, at least as well as it did in non-Airplane Mode). And the map app got the satellites and located me perfectly well in Airplane Mode, once I took the IdeaPad outside.
So what exact part of wireless functionality is disabled in Airplane Mode, if any?
    Thanks for any advice here.

When you put it in Airplane mode it turns off both bluetooth and wifi. While Airplane mode is on you can still turn on both BT and wifi but if you power off the tablet both radios will be off the next time you power up. So it appears that Airplane mode prevents inadvertant use of wireless when powering on. Note that the radios remain on in standby mode. There may be more to it as these are just my observations from use.

  • Issue with Airplane Mode on legitimately unlocked iPhone

    Hi,
I bought an iPhone in Australia from a distributor for one of the large carriers. I bought the white 16Gb outright and paid the fee to have the phone unlocked (as is permitted in Australia). It all worked well with both an Aus and a UK SIM card I had.
The white plastic back then cracked so I took it to an Apple store where they replaced it. I told the Genius that I'd had it unlocked and he said no problems, etc, etc.
He replaced the phone and I took it home, all seemed to work well. Again, with both SIMs.
I installed the 2.2 firmware upgrade.
    Now to the troublesome bit.
Sitting in Melbourne airport, about to leave Australia for some significant time, I swapped the SIMs over and the phone started complaining about needing to be connected to iTunes.
I did this and it unlocked (again).
Question 1: Do I really have to connect to iTunes every time I change the SIM?
I replaced the SIM with my Aus one and turned the phone off to fly to Kuala Lumpur. On arrival in KL I swapped SIMs again, went through the hassle of connecting to iTunes to unlock.
Then, as I wanted to use the phone on my net flight to watch movies and play Fuzzle, I turned on Airplane Mode with the UK SIM.
The phone instantly complains about the SIM being changed and asks to be connected to iTunes. I did this (getting annoyed at this point)! This time, iTunes reports that the phone is fauly and I should take to an Apple Store
I then replaced the SIM with my Aus one, and it all started working nicely again including allowing me to use Airporne Mode.
Question 2: Why can't I use Airplane Mode when my UK SIM is installed?
This seems like a bug to me, rather than some complication with Airplane mode. Surely if my phone has been unlocked and I can make calls with both SIMs, then I can use Airplane Mode regardless of which SIM I'm using?
Added complication here is that I'm not going back to Australia for a while (maybe years), so unless Apple are nice to me and decide that the phone is faulty and will replace it in the UK, I'm going to be left with an expensive, and white, iPod Touch.
    Cheers for any suggestions,
    Ian

I don't think the problem lies specifically with the SIM card, but with the software on the phone.
I would appreciate others trying to replicate my problem with their iPhones. Simple steps (requireing an unlocked iPhone) are...
    1. Insert original SIM card (all should be fine)
    2. Remove orginal SIM card and replace with second carrier SIM
    3. Sync with iTunes to get the phone working again.
    4. Either turn on Airplane Mode or turn the phone off and on again.
    5. The phone (at least mine) will require you to connect to iTunes again.
Turning on Airplane Mode or turning the phone off and on with the original SIM card inserted doesn't lead to this behaviour.
