You may need to try this More than Once...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.

How long have you had your phone? Because if you've had it a long time, the battery in the phone might of died on you. Or have you dropped it in water, snow, from high up? All those things could of disconnected something internally in your phone, or permentaly damaged the internal hard drive its self, or the sims card.

  • My phone died last night and won't turn back on again even though I've had on charge ever since and i tried to use the whole pressing both button but my top one is broke what do i do?

it has been over 20 hours now

Well, if you can't reset it, you can try hooking it up to the computer your sync with and try restoring it:
    IOS RECOVERY MODE RESTORE
If the device is not recognized by iTunes, you will have to make a trip to the Apple Store.

  • My battery died last night and the phone switched itself...

My battery died last night and the phone switched itself off. It has now been charging for 5 hours and still will not switch on. Please help.

Remove and reinsert the battery from the device. Also clean the battery and device connectors with a cloth....then plug the device on the charger.
If that fails then you might have to consider changing the battery.

my ipohn 4 died last night and wont turn on pls help me

    Hi Punkermama,
If the screen on your iPhone is dark but the phone otherwise seems to be responding (sounds, etc), an Accessability feature known as Screen Curtain may have inadvertently been activated. You may find the following section of the iOS 7 for iPhone manual helpful (Apendix A - Accessability, in the Voiceover section on pg 126):
Turn the screen curtain on or off. Triple-tap with three fingers. When the screen curtain is on, the screen contents are active even though the display is turned off.

    Good Morning,
I just did a software update on my phone (finally) last night and now my phone will not come on.  It keeps showing the charger pointing up to a blue circle with iTunes inside and will not go any further.  Can ANYONE help me please???

The phone is in restore mode and the picture is telling you what to do. Connect the phone, by cable, to iTunes in the computer you normally use for syncing, and retore the phone.

  • HT5163 My Iphone 4g battery died last night and I have tried to recharge with no success. What do I need to do?

My Iphone died last night and efforts to recharge this moring have been unsuccessful, so what next?

Keep on Wall Charger and Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to start. Can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger.

I reset my I phone 4 last night and it wont go on now. I have tried holding the home key and turn on button but nothing happens.  Is there anything else I can try? Its less than a month old

    Hi ...
In case it's the battery.. connect the iPhone to a wall outlet or a computer via USB then try restarting.
Restart your device: Hold the power button until "slide to power off" appears.  Slide to power off.  After it is off, press the power button to turn it back on.

  • My laptop died last night and the date and time was set for 1/1/2000. I went to change the date and time and cannot. For some reason when i pull up system preferences it will not load date and time but will load other stuff. Please help.

Last night my laptop died and the time and date was reset. I cannot acess date and time preferences to change it and my laptop is acting really weird. My CD drive is broken so there are no options to put in a cd. Please someone help i need my laptop for school and cannot afford another.

Many system actions will misbehave, given an inaccurate date. Resetting the NVRAM and / or SMC will not fix it, and if the system has a preposterous date you may not be able to open System Preferences to correct it. This dilemma may or may not be addressed in a future OS X update.
If you cannot open System Preferences you can reset your system date and time using Terminal.
Please read everything that follows before proceeding. Write them down if necessary because the effects of setting a preposterous system date are unpredictable.
Quit System Preferences, force quit if necessary: OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
Open Terminal - it is in your Utilities folder and looks like this
You can find Terminal by using the Finder's Go menu and choosing Utilities, then double-click the Terminal icon.
At the prompt, you will be typing a command resembling the following:
    sudo date mmddhhnnyyyy
... but you must substitute the actual date and time in the command that corresponds to the date format used for your location. In other words if your custom is to use a date like 8 February 2014 then reverse the mm and dd values.
Substitute numerals in the above command according to the following:
    mm = month
    dd = date
hh = hour (24 hour format)
nn = minutes past the hour
    yyyy = year
Each of those values must be two digits except for the year which can be two or four digits. As an example if the current date and time is February 8, 2014 at 9 PM your command will be the following:
    sudo date 020821002014
    or
    sudo date 0208210014
Either one will work. If you enter nonsensical values the system will attempt to parse the entry correctly.
To recover from your inability to use System Preferences to set the date and time, the value entered does not have to be precise, it just has to be approximate.
Enter that command using the actual time and date for your location and in the appropriate format, then press the Return key. Terminal will ask for your Admin Password - the same one you use when you log in to your Mac. Type it and then press the Return key. What you type will not appear, not even with •••• characters.
To determine if your change was effective just type the date command and press the Return key. Terminal will reply with the date and time. If it appears correct and in the correct format, you should be able to open System Preferences > Date & Time once again. Selecting the "Set time and date automatically" and choosing an appropriate time server will adjust your Mac's system clock to the precise time.

  • IBook died last night when Safari froze

A little background: I've had myriad problems with my iBook, starting last summer. Since that time it has crashed twice...all after the 90 day warranty ran out.
Last night after a few problems booting I was able to surf the Web for a while when Safari unexpectedly froze. I tried rebooting a few times and nothing. I did a hardware check and everything seems OK. I tried reloading OSX and that's where I'm having problems.
I've tried a Restore Disk and that didn't seem to work. I'm not sure where to go from there. After that, I tried to reinstall but it get stuck at the fourth stage and goes no further. It seems to be asking where I would like to install to but gives me no options or choices for places to put it. Any suggestions? I am getting so sick of going to Apple support.
I'm wondering if my computer is just a dud.

Actually, the warrantly is long over. I bought the machine in Nov. 2003. The 90-day warranty to which I referred was the one I got when my logic board fried and I had to send it back to Apple for a repair.
I checked out my machine again last night. (It's the only one I have, I am having to post elsewhere now). Here's what I got:
I was in Disk Utility and the repair did not work. My new question is this: What happens if I choose "erase" one or both of these drives: "37.3 GB Fujitsu MHT2040AT" or "disc0s9?" I also have an option to create a "new image." I don't know what that means but I suspect it might allow me to save what is on those two drives mentioned above before doing an erase. Is this correct? Also, if I do "erase" does this basically just mean I'm getting ready to reinstall OsX?
Sorry for so many questions. I'm a newbie here and I'm frustrated with the number of troubles I've had with this machine.

  • My ipod died last night, its not charging or turning on.

    Hope someone can offer suggestions
this is a 8Gb  ippd I have had since 26th th December, 2010. I love it and it has been excellent until today.
I had used it yesterday evening and it still had 1/4 showing on the battery. I was on the computer when i looked on the screen and the ipod was dead as if the battery was finnished. So i try charging it but the logo that shows when the ipod is dead and charging did not come up. So i left it charginf last night (so i soppose.) This morning i tried turning it on but nothing happened.
    any thoughts would be appreciated

Did you charge it using the adapter for at least 15min? After that try to connect in recovery mode, explained here: iOS: Unable to update or restore
