SOP for product group

Hi experts,
I have a problem transferring planed Sales quantities by product groups to SOP.
I did steps:
1.     Planned sales quantities by material, KEPM.
2.     Created product group with members material, MC84
3.     Transferred planned sales quantities to SOP into inactive version, KE1E
I can see or change SOP for material (MC88, MC89), but plan for product group is empty (MC82, MC83)!!!! Iu2019ve tried to create sales plan for product group transferring it from COPA (MC82), but it doesnu2019t work. Accordingly Break down PG plan (MC76) doesnu2019t work because plan for product group is empty and there is nothing to distribute.
4.     Iu2019ve checked planning type SOPKAPA for info structure S076. Structure row Sales has Aggregation method Total created. Iu2019ve tried to change planning type SOPKAPA, e.g. inserted new structure row. But for product group plan I see the same view, I mean there is no new structure row. Is it possible, that plan for product group used another planning type not SOPKAPA?
The main question is u2013 how to aggregate/ sum planned sales quantities for product group?

I guess,you know the limitations while transferring COPA plan data to SOP in PP module.
however,let me repeat 1.Unit of measure maintained in COPA module and PP module should be same.
further,2.You can transfer planning data to SOP at the product level or the product group level. If you want to plan and transfer data at the product group level, you need to create a characteristic (or characteristics) to represent the product group levels in SOP when you maintain your operating concern. Since in SOP product groups are stored as products in the database, make sure the characteristic you create for the product group has the same type and length as the characteristic "Product" (CHAR 18).
Kindly check these two limitations.

In CRM Web UI, there is no multi selection option for product group id f4 help for Custmer event creation or edit screen under “Product” tab=> Product Group ID field.
Web UI Component Details -
UI component : TPMOE
View : TPMOE/ProductEOL
Context: PRODUCT Attribute : -PRODUCT_GRUOP
Click on Product Group ID field then below F4 Help screen appears.
In the product group results list, user can select only one row and Then all the product will be queried for selected product group, transferred to product list tab.
Current technical design for Product Group F4:
a) SE11 Data Dictionary search help “CRM_MKTPL_PGRP1” is used and data is fetched displayed based it( Refer method GET_V_PRODUCT_GROUP of context node class CL_TPMOE_PRODUCTEOL_CN00)
b) In UI, F4 pop up is handled by UI Framework in SAP generic manner so no multi selection is allowed.
c) A round trip event is triggered after selection of row from results which reload view with queried product result based group selected.
Requirement :-
In the product group F4 results list View, user should be able to select multiple row .As SAP GUI has the option of multiple entry selection from search help window with the help of field called MULTISEL.
System should query for products with all selected product group, transferred to product list tab.
Note: - The multi select options works fine for GUI, but for UI standard SAP code ignores this or never is this structure taken into consideration. Standard class to display F4 help on UI is CL_THTMLB_F4HELP.
Can we enforce same behavior like DDIC search help in Web UI too Or suggest how we can achieve this requirement?

Created Custom component : ZPRGRP with Search /Result view and with GENIL Class, search logic
Defined custom ComponentUsage “ProductGroup1SearchHelp” for ZPRGRP in Standard Component TPMOE
e. Called F4 application for field product _group with help component usage created in step d.

I thought the document contained an explanation of remote key mapping. Obviously it doesn't, sorry.
Setting up remote key mapping is a bit complicated.
First of all go to the MDM console and check your product category field in the main table (catalog items). Is key mapping set to "yes"?
then go to the data manager and switch to the table containing the product categories in record mode. Right click on any entry and check the remote key data. Are remote keys available for your product categories. I assume that there are no remote keys available - this is the reason the system behaves as you describe it.
Setting up remote keys for existing product categories AFAIK can only be done manually in Data Manager. Alternatively you can delete your hierarchy and create it once more, creating remote keys for every entry in the table. You can chose any remote system, it just has to be the same all the time.
In import manager you have to clode the code field of your product category (basically the material group number) and assign it once to the product category in MDM and once to the remote key.
Be sure to check your configuration in MDM Import Manager, the entry "Do not update record matching field value" needs to be set to no. Otherwise no remote keys are created.
Now you can import your categories creating your hierarchy, as usual. The remote keys are created automatically.
You should assign remote keys to all fields that should be matched in a similar way, UOM, currency etc.

Rough cut planning in SOP for resource levelling

I am trying rough cut planning in SOP.
I have created rough cut planning profile for a product group by using MC35.
The task list exits for the product group.
In task list , work centre is maintained and the same is given while creating the rough cut profile.
This product group contains some part number.
When I try Views--->capacity situation -> rough cut planning--->show.
System gives error that -
> No resource load found.
<u><b>Diagnosis given by system is as follows,</b></u>
This situation may be caused by one or more of the following:
     No PP task list (rough-cut planning profile, rate routing, or routing) corresponding to the Customizing selection criteria has been defined for this material/product group at this scheduling level.
     Resources planning has not been configured appropriately in Customizing.
     The information structure which you are planning has not been configured appropriately in Customizing.
System Response
No capacity load could be determined.
Procedure
1. Check that a PP task list exists for this material/product group.
2. Check that a lot size range has been maintained in the PP task list.
3. Have your systems administrator check and, if necessary, change the resources planning settings in Customizing for Sales & Operations Planning (the steps "Scheduling levels" and "Routing selection").
4. Have your systems administrator check that capacity planning has been defined for this information structure in Customizing.
Please let me know how to maintain the resource planning settings for scheduling level and routing selection.

You can use t.code mc84 to create a product group.
Pl follow the following steps to do SOP with product group.
1. Create a Product group in tcode MC84.
Enter a percentage for material say X & Y to be produced. X 40% & Y 60%. Total qty will be split in the ratio as per the %.
2. Create Production Plan in tcode MC81.
Enter the sales plan qty.
Then goto menu,edit & choose create Prodn Plan synchronus to sales.
3. Create Rough cut Planning Profile in tcode MC35.
4. Enter the Status ,Usage & lot size.
5. Choose resources tab & then choose work center & enter work center name which you consider as a bottle neck & then enter the unit of measure as 'min'.
6. Use MC82,
Choose inactive version and select your version.
then goto menu->views> capacity situation>show
7.Check for over loads & adjust your qty acordingly.once the load becomes 100 % save.
8. Change the inactive version to Active version in tcode MC78.
ie in the version enter the inactive version & in the target version enter'A00'
9.In mc82 choose active version, you can see that the plan is activated now.
10.In the menu choose extras & transfer to demand mgmnt.
11.You can see the requirement in the md62 transaction.
12.Then run mrp.
Also regarding the unit of measure in t.code mc35,
If you select your resource as 'workcenter' & choose min or hour & then you enter 1(eg) in the first field against the work center. This means it takes 1 min or hour to produce 1pc(base quantity) in that particular workcenter(bottleneck workcenter)
Reg: Capacity calculation in mc87,follow the eg as above.Enter 1 min as time & base qty as 1 in mc35. Then check in mc87, you will get the load in %. ie if your work center is permitted to work for 8 hours/day & you pass a production plan of 480, then your load will match for 100%.

Product Group capacity can not be seen in MF50 output

Dear All,
I can not see the product group in 'total capacity' subscreen in output of planning table MF50.
In MF50 the input parameter i am entering is product group and plant.
In the scheduling tab of input parameters detailed scheduling and capacity planning is tick.
For some product groups i can see in output as "Product Groups / Total Capacity" and also in the rows below it shows "Prod.Grp XYZ" then requirement and available quantity rows. After which the production line rows follows.
For some product groups when enter in initial selection screen of MF50 with same input parameters in output i do not see Product group but i can see "Total Capacity Data" and then the rows starts with production lines. But no information on capacity of product group.
The setup of all product group is same and are created with MM01.

In 'Control Tab' i am not selecting any parameter. So in output i can see all materials in 'Material Data' section which are included in product group irrespective of requirements.
I have issue in upper half section of 'Total Capacity Data'. I can see the different production line rows with Requirement / Available rows with capacity values in each period. Unit is %.
But i do not see 1st row for Product group row with 2 subsequent rows (requirement / available) with unit KG.
I can see these rows only for some product groups but not for all.
For the product groups for which i do not see these rows have capacity requirement in selected periods which can be seen in same output in production lines rows. (where selection in input screen is product group and plant)

Unable to create Product group form T Code- MC84 in ECC 6.0

After Upgrade from 4.7E to ECC 6.0 we are facing problem for Tcode-MC84(Create Product Group) is opening but we are unable to Create product group..
can any tell me what is problem for this or is there any apply SAP Note for this.

I think for some particular versions you can create a product group directly using T code MC84, and if u have got a material type say PROD-Product group,then use mm01 for creating a product group. And then you can do the change in MC86 for product group.

WSUS Manage Approval for different Groups

We have different products the the company hosts and they require that servers be patched on Test servers prior to a code release. Once the the servers are tested then the same set of patches should be deployed to the production servers during a scheduled
time when the code is released to the production servers. And that is the case for other products but the cycle between the product is always different. So we always want test group be product match the production group by product. What is the best solution
to implement for this type of environment to be able to approve any missing update to the test group for a product and when time comes how to push the same updates to production groups.
The way I have it seems messy because i have bunch of nested groups by datacenter > product name > purpose of the server "wether it is QA webserver, prod webserver, dev webserver, other servers,
etc... and what i do is from Update Reports, run "Update Status Summary" report on the test group that has a status of "Needed, Failed, No Status" and from there approve the updates to that test group. Install the updates, etc... and then
when I want to deploy the updates to certain groups, I run the "Updated Tabular Status for Approved Updates", select the same test group that was deployed to and the option "Installed/NotApplicable, Needed" and approve to the Production
group. Seems like I am doing this all wrong. Appreciate the help. Thanks.

I’m not sure if I have got your idea correctly. After you approved for test group, and there is any problem. You need approve for production group or all computer group.

Do you mean you want to create product group in mass?
You can use BAPI BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA to create product group with material type as PROD. And you can use FM PRODUCTGROUP_CHANGE for product group material assignment MC86.

Creating a new product group for SOP

We have SOP set up in our system .When i am trying to create a product group with material as a member , i am getting error , what is this ? Any help

Transfer a suitable value.
If the field is the material group or unit of weight, and the field is not ready for input, check whether the material is locked. If it is locked, you cannot extend the Purchasing view or the Sales view. If either of these views needs to be extended, the material must first be unlocked. This can be done only by a user with special authorization. Contact your system administrator.

Check mandatory field and sales and purchase view in material master.
Please check authorization for it aslo.
Go to tcode OMSFIX and un check if any field is checked for lock relevant.
this will open the field in MM01 and you can see the required field,
You can unlock the material in transaction MM02 (You will find "Unlock" icon in the application tool-bar).

Error while creating Product Group in SOP

HI Gurus,
When I am trying to create the product group in SOP in MC84 , I get follwoing error.
"Product group cannot be created (batch input error 7) Message no. MA218"
how to slove this?

Rajiv,
Basically if there are mismatch in the Field selection and fields visible in MC84 you would get this error.
The workaround suggested by SAP is to create a product group using MM01 with material type PROD, latter on using the change product group transaction MC86 you can assign its members.

How to map Product Group for the Materials in BW.

We have an requirement for one of the report called as Progress validation Report.
We have to craete thsi repotr which would pulll out Inventory value, Production Plan value, Total Lates, Current week deliveries and WIP for a quarter.
Cube whihc provides details about production plan has data by Material, plant and product group wise.
But rest of the cube from which we extract the key figures does not have data by Product grop wise.
Product group is been picked from PGMI table in R/3.
How I can related the materials which are in other cube to the respective Product group.
Material and the relevant prdoct group data doesnot flows in BW.
There is even a scenario where ahve seen a material falls under 2 product groups..
PLease guide as how i can realted already existing materials in the Cube to the product group.

Hi,
Product Group is master data for material master. It is part of Matreial Clssification data in R/3.
Please check if you are having the same already loaded as attribute of Material master. I guess it will be there, if it s not there then you should try to load the same in material master object which you are using in all the cubes.
If the maintinenece in master data is nopt possible then you got to populate the same in cube.
There will be a combination of keys (materail/plant/prduct family etc.. ( for which Product group will be unique). then load product with the help of these key combinations in all the cubes via update routine.
There is one more way to have this but which is performance intensive.
You may create one master data object called Product Group and keep material number as attribute (with compunding all other key fileds to get the unique combination). Then you may create an infoset using cubes and this master data object. Join the materail numbers in all. Display this object in report.

I have created a product group heirarcy in SOP. I want to view the the complete heirarchy in a report format. I do not want to use a graphical output like MC91/MC92. I need something like multi level BOM structure on Prod G heirarcy but not in a graphical format.

Product Group Hierarchy in SAP BI for 0SD_MP03

Hello Guru,
I am working on BI 7.0. I have activated Sales Infocubes, DSO and Multiprovider on BI side. I am working on 0SD_MP03 multiprovider. I have a field called 0PROD_HIER which represents Product Hierarchy which we can see for any material in MM03 t-code. how ever in MM03 t-code we can go upto 3 level (Main Group, Group and Sub group) how ever on BI side we can see only 1 level.
I want to see all 3 levels when i click on 0PROD_HIER because i want to see a relation of a material and it belongs to which main group and group but i see that there is no standard content for Product Hierarchy in SAP BI or ECC . Can any body help me on how to get this hierarchy on BI side ?

I have done 2 scenarios which is mentioned below..
1, I created a hierarchy for 0MATERIAL info object with 0MATERIAL_LPRH_HIER data source. I ran infopackage and it showed a popup "DATA WAS REQUESTED" but when i went to Hierarchy symbol -> Maintain Hierarchies, i am not able to see any hierarchies there.. am i missing something ?
2. I have activated 0PROD_HIER_LPRH_HIER dat sorce ECC. replicated it on BI side and created transfer rules wit 0PROD_HIER infoobject. I created infopackage and it has shown me hierarchy in selection. I ran infopackage and it said that "DATA WAS REQUESTED" but i din't see any hierarchies in RSH1... am i missing something here as well ?

Derivation rule for Product from Material Group

Dear All,
Is it possible derive product from Material Group. The scenario is as below.
We executed KE30 report (Classic Drill down) for Product, the we are able to see the profitability for different products, when we click on the list button (Find button) againist the product at the bottom we found not assigned, we selected that and we found there are some un assigned amounts (without product). when we see the line items for the same the line items are coming with out product ( product field is emply)
Another observation is we created profitability assessment cycle (KEU5) in which cost center is the sender and material group is the receiver. when we run this cycle system is not distibuting the costs to the products, in the sender and receiver its executed with zero values.
In derivation rule KEDR we gave the logic to derive product from material group.
please guide the way which we are following is correct or not. can we derive product from material group.

Yes you can derive using "Derivation" method in KEDR and maintain a mapping of Mat Grp to Product... But that is not the right way
You need to find out why some lines are posted w/o products.. They can be genuine cases....
Also for assessment, either specify the Product as receiver or run KE28 Top Down Dist in order to allocate values from Mat group to Products..... Deriving Product from Mat group does not seem to be the nice way

I have more than one product group produced on one production line and we want do and see the capacity analysis for all the product groups at the same time to get the overview capacity analysis for the line.
How to see it in one transaction?

You mean to say you have more than one products can be manufactured in one work center and you want to do the capacity planning.
After MRP run system will create plan orders, then go to CM25, select profile: SAPSFCG014- put workcenter and plant and execute. You will get 3 different charts where you can do the planning for all products at a time.
