Sorry, but another boot problem

I am sorry to ask this question but I have read all of the recent posts on boot problems and followed all instructions but I am still having a problem. It passes the POST then gives the Boot Failure, insert boot disk into drive A message. The only thing I have not done is install a new bios. I have only got one SATA HDD, one CD Writer and floppy.
I have plugged the HD into SATA1 and the CD into IDE1, during the boot sequence it see the CD as Primary Master1 and the HDD as Third IDE Master.
During the POST it passes memory test and can detect both the HDD and CD and floppy.
I have set the HDD settings as follows:
Native Mode
ATA Config= S-ATA only
S-ATA keep enabled = Yes
P-ATA keep enabled = Yes
P-ATA Channel Selection = Both
Combined Mode = S-ATA 1st channel
S-ATA ports definition = P0-1st/P1-2nd
Also I have set the Boot sequence as follows:
1st boot = CD
2nd boot = HDD
3rd boot = floppy
I have built this PC only in the last few days and there is no operating system yet, it has the following specs:
BIOS A6728IMS 3.5 020504
865PE Neo2
Pentium 4 2.40aGhz
2 x 256 Kingston 400Mhz PC3200
128MB Excalibur RADEON 9200 8xAGP
Seagate 80Gb S-ATA HDD

Thanks, its good to know that I seem to have set it up ok but when I try to boot from the cd (Windows Server 2003) it still says there is a boot failure please insert disk into drive A???

Ok, I've been reading the threads and tried almost all of the solutions to no avail. Here is the issue...
While adjusting speed in bios, Upon reboot the system would not display video. Steps taken to solve:
*Betwwen all changes I unpluged all power from system
1. Cleared CMOS VIA Jumper, Turned system on, no change
2. set J10 Jumper to default then restarted, Still no video.
3. Checked & reseated memory & CPU. Still nothing.
4. Removed battery for about 30 seconds (Am going to try to remove it for 30 mins when i get a chance tomorrow) still nothing
At this point i assum the motherboard was bad. I tested botting up with no memory in an attempt to get the warming/error beeps but nothing the system just idles.
Am i missing something? Any help suggestions or links to solutions would be greatly appretiated.

Sorry, I wasn;t trying to be vague, Was messing with the comp for a couple hours and got fed up. You were right, it was the k7n2. It's not mine it's a friends and wasn't around so i was going by memory. It had been running descent but was never properly installed (software) and was poorly cooled (hardware) so it had overheating restart issues. This is where I come in. I told my friend i would take a look at his computer. It was home built by one of his friends. Te system is fairly basic and the only plug in card used is a agp video card. The computer was working great after i reinstalled the CPU with proper thermal conducting when in BIOS his Athlon 2.6 was set for 1.8 I adjusted it up to the proper setting and he asked if i could bump it further. I attempted but it was unsuccessful and didn't boot. I cleared cmos with the jumper and it booted up again no problem. I stupidly went back in a fiddled around some more with something i shouldn't have because i don't remeber what it was. I belive it was the FSB Speed, but i'm not positive what change cause this particular shutdown. I'm no computer technichian, just a hobbiest. I cleared the Jumper again but this time it dodn't come back and boot. I then looked in the book and found out about jumper 10 (i think) for the SAFE MODE 100mhz boot. I set it as well with no response. I then disconnected the power cable from the PSU and unluged the battery for about half a min or so. cleared teh cmos jumper again, kept the safe mode jumper in safe mode and tried to reboot. It still just hangs. No screen, so Bios check or wrning beeps. It just idles. It revs the hard drive up for about 20sec or so but that is it. I'm going to try the suggestion earlier in the eact oprder giving by osnavi for the reseting cmos. I tried those steps in vvaroius orders 5 or 6 times before giving up.
Any help is appretiated. Thanks for your responses.

Toshiba Portégé m400 powering up but not booting problem

Hi people this is the first time I have posted on the toshiba forums. My toshiba m400 tablet laptop stopped booting recently and I am unable to find an answer to my problem. The laptop is refurbished I bought it off e-bay 6-7 months ago so the 2 month warrenty is out. It worked fine up until recently History: about 2 weeks ago it started to hang then about 1 minute later the fan would go really loud and the only way to get the laptop to work was to pull the power and reboot, it started off about once per day I thought that it was just weird and ignored it until it got more frequent. then about 1 week later it when I tried to boot the laptop the power light would go on and nothing would happen then a while later the fan would start being really loud. What I tried: I replaced the battery as I thought it was a power issue, still not working I did some research and thought it might be a over heating issue because of dust.I got a techncian friend to look at it they opened it up and cleaned the dust out, still not working Connected it to an external monitor in case it was the screen that was not working , the screen didnt show anything Currently I push the power switch and the 1st light from the left, the power light goes on and I can hear the fan and hard drive working but nothing is displayed on the screen and I dont think the system is booting. The same thing happens regardless of what battery I use or if the laptop is plugged in. So currently my laptop is a paperwieght does anybody have any suggestions besides buy a new laptop

Yet another boot problem

I swear this piece of crap is inches from the dumpster. I have spent the last week fixing problems that I thought I had already fixed.
The latest is that I am back to taking about 5 minutes to boot up. It hangs right after listing the BIOS version but before finding the processor, then it hangs again between the windows logo and the desktop. This appears to occur regardless of whether there are usb devices attached, so it's different from the last bott problem we all had.
This started with a black screen of death, which I fixed using anakin's (i think?) solution. As anakin suggested I reinstalled the drivers i could find directly from MSI's site, not thru Live Update. I then went to nvidia, and got the vga drivers. The first few times I booted, I thought I was home free when it came right up like old times, now here i am again.
Questions:
1. What do I look for to identify the hangs at those times during boot?
2. Can someone give me the correct driver versions so I can be sure I didn't pull the wrong ones?
3. Slightly unrelated- should I uninstall Live Update, as I have no need for it to give me drivers that cause these problems?

I have been at a wedding drinking for several hours, so at least I'm jovial about it now. However right before I left, I rebooted, everything came up beautifully, but when I went to shut down, i got more hang time than michael jordan. the beauty part is, do you want to know the changes I made? Abso-f'ing-lutely nothing. In other words, having changed no settings/drivers/etc., my problem went from no boot, to no shut down. MSI should go f itself as often as possible.
I can solve all of these issues with enough diligence. What irks me is the fact that I have spent the last week trying to fix a problem that changes with the breeze. Who was the idiot at MSI that said "yup, this is the best we can do. ship 'em!"
Now that I have ranted, does anyone else have a shutdown problem?

Another booting problem

after reading some of the related posts I'm still pretty confused and with some of them out of date I'm not sure where I stand. The phone crashed yesterday and I need to try and rescue video of my godson's first steps which wasnt backed up!
It had half battery at the time. It has rebooted by itself in the past but dunno how often as I dont keep watch on it. I did notice over the course of the day that the widgets/shortcuts on the desktop had seemed to stop working, but didnt take the time to restart it.
Got a new battery (another 35Euro!) and had them both charged just in case. Here's whats happening. Dunno if anybody can decipher it:
- when I switch it on with the battery, I get the NOKIA logo, backlight and steady blue status indicator, goes dead after 30secs
- Battery out, usb in: status indicator one flash orange. Thats it until I put the battery in again and I get a vibrate and NOKIA logo without backlight. After 30 secs it dies and repeats this cycle automatically
- if I switch it on with the battery in and plug it in while the backlight is on, it again vibrates and has dark logo, except now orange light stays steady every second cycle. If I take the battery out, the orange indicator stays on.
I dunno what firmware is on it, but I dont remember updating it in about two months. I wonder if flashing is a suitable thing for me to try or is my phone a gonner?!

Almost feeling ballsy enough to try the leaked pr1.2 now but I reckon I just should copy my precious videos over for now!

Windows 8.1 pro boot problems

I upgraded my OS on a hp pavilion g6-1d73us from windows 7 home premium to windows 8.1 pro and ever since I have had boot problems. I took all the software off since I thought that might be the problem but the boot problems persist. The computer's self diagnosis helps but I still have problems. Is my laptop incompatible with windows 8.1? Windows 8.1 was a download and I still have recovery disks for windows 7. I originally thought the problem was incompatible software but now I am not sure.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I am glad you have recovery disks for windows 7, smart thinking. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g6-1d73us Notebook and having issues with the Windows upgrade to 8.1. Here is a link to the drivers page for your product. I do notice there are drivers for Windows 8.The Updates you need for the system are the Chipset. These are located on the driver page link above.
One of the things that can cause an issue is things connected USB. The computer can not load the drivers so it causes an issue. Once the machine is up to date then return the USB devices.
Then I recommended to restore the BIOS to factory defaults.Here is a link to restore the BIOS.
You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook.
Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices.

Over the years I have had many ISP and email addresses - but now we have finally gone almost fully virtual...
I have a live login and MS ID 4 my SkyDrive account but I only use my MS touch with 8.1, SkyDrive and office 365 for mobility.
And I still like to backup to my own server!!!
What would be good is if I can put all the software licenses and product keys of the software and keep a record of my mac addresses for hardware and even static IP's in a file or a secure location within the MS online store.
That's where MS wants me to get my computing needs from in future and I will always be able to retrieve it in future but what about the $$$$$ I have spent on software, hardware and applications prior to now???
I know u guys love 2 collect data 4 marketing analysis,
4 example I have an old PC that is still running a server from last century - if you knew about it a simple script would allow you to offer upgrades or at least relevant MS products - UNLIKE the rubbish adds I just turn off or tune out
now...

That's crap - This is a clean brand spanker install of Win7 and there was nothing b4 I put the oem drivers from Toshiba back on.
I looked at dozens of support pages and forum blogs and tried for hours to get a copy to download - including incognito and other logins but because my default PC name is also my MS Windows live ID the same error was repeated.
I keep away from the non MS sites for these things and with good reason - there were heaps of similar users with the same issue or very close to it that had downloaded from a supposed MS copy from eValue or digital river etc and the next
thing was total corruption of the OS.
EVENTUALLY I found a LIVE MS chat on a support site in the US and she gave me a link to a slightly older version which will need updating and some reg edit changes but so far, so good.
The point is - what a crock !

You will only be able to track your iPad if you have find my iPhone active and the iPad is connected to a network.

I then tried getting in with Internet Explorer and it works fine. I do not like IE because I have problems with some websites.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

There is no way to consolidate iTunes accounts.
Setting up an iPhone has never required creation of a new Apple ID.
You've apparently purchased content with both Apple ID's. Sign into the device with the correct Apple ID and sync the content.

I have ipad-2 16 gb wifi after upgrading to latest software 4.3.5 my wifi icon is bleached and showing no wifi i tried resetting several times and also tried re booting it and i restored the software several times but still the problem remains please

Vinayaka-
After all you've tried, Dah*veed is probably right about needing warranty assistance.
But first check to be sure Settings-Airplane Mode is set to OFF, and Settings-WiFi-WiFi is set to ON.
Try unplugging your WiFi router for a few seconds. Then reset the iPad's network. Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will need to reconnect to your WiFi.
