I was wondering if it was possible for me to buy parts from somewhere that were compatable with the mac. like for example I don't know if I need a mac-specific motherboard, also, i've heard that mac's are kinda picky about RAM - Another question kinda unrelated to everything. since windows vista is gonna use EFI booting ( i am pretty sure ) instead of BIOs will that make all motherboards in exsisting pc's have to be fixed/replaced? - i aplogize if i do not make any sense

Building a Mac is not something easily done, as it is with PCs. Probably the most practical option if you really want to do this is to seek out a broken CRT Mac (there are lots of them). If you want a G4, you might look for an eMac with a broken display. You can then disassemble the computer and build it into an old PC case, add a power supply, etc. and get things up and running, although it will take a lot of work and not look so pretty.
In the long run, I think it would not be worth trying to build a Mac, but just to buy one.
About Windows Vista, the OS is not slated to be released until early 2007, at least for home users. Therefore system requirements, etc. are not firmly established at this point. It wouldn't make much sense, though, if every motherboard had to be replaced, or no one would bother buying the new OS, but just buy a new PC with the OS pre-installed.

Have you tried Google-searching? Here's a Google page start where there's some info on this.
If I were you, I'd just close out this topic and start a new one under Expanding your Power Mac G4 with a title like "Can I build my own Mac?". You might draw some attention from some of the folks that like to dabble with hardware, mods, etc.

I have created three files, yes i know naming conventions and spelling is an issue, but bare with me. I plan to clean all this up as soon as I get this issue figured out. right now I am flinging mud like a howler monkey.

Disclaimer: I've done no GTK programming at all.
A naive reading of both the code and the exception stack trace suggests that Navagation.Navagation() is returning the wrong thing.
The exception says that an assertoin that chile is a menu item failed.
Is a Label a MenuItem?
Unless I missed it,you are not doing anything with the menu items you create in Navagation.Navagation().

I am thinking abut the Studio High Definition Powered Isolation Headphones with Noise Cancellation. In trying to find the place with the 2 miles/$1 spent and the lowest price is too much for my drained brain to handle. I believe there are at least three reasons:
- To ask a question / get an answer
- For discussion
- For community
The new format focuses on the question/answer format only. It discourages discussion and destroys community.
Community is what makes Apple great. When someone becomes an Apple user they join a community.
The old Apple Discussions was a place for discussions, as well as for question/answer. The community joined together to help, to answer questions. It was a team effort.
The new format makes Apple Discussions like many other discussions, not a discussion, but a question/answer depot. Two people can be helpful, one can give the answer. End of discussion. End of community.
The old format encouraged partnership, the building of a helpful community.
The new format is individualistic: Question - answer - who's next?
Think about other help forums you have posted in. They are question/answer based. Once you have the answer to your question, do you go back? Rarely.
Why do the "experts," the ones with answers, come to the Apple Discussions? To help people, and also for community. The new format discourages discussion. With community gone, people will leave and look for community elsewhere. Then who will answer the questions?

But it does somehow my English security answers do not work on a Japanese Question especialy if I did not choose that question I set up the multiple choice In English and wrote the answers in English or Roman and set them langauge preferences in English, do you really think you can correctly write english name or word in Japanese they write a police patrol car pato caa パトカア　they do not have r and l .So it is my choice to make my security easy for me and as difficult for others to hack.But they also have patororoo choo meaning ' now patrolling ' so why they have pato caa patrol car and patoro patrol and have thousands of Chinese words kanji they can find patrol.

Why is my query using the wrong index?

Hi SQL Tuning experts....
I'm running Oracle 11.2.0.2 EE on Solaris 10
I've just checked my top SQL statements in OEM and drilling down on the top query of the list, I decided to run SQL Advisor on the query.
Low and behold, it came back with a profile that gives me a 99.9% improvement.
When I compared the original plan to the new plan the only difference is that the SQL Advisor is using a different index.
Now, the dumb DBA question: why? why is Oracle picking the wrong index?

Maybe My iDea's & Suggestions may not be great? but at least I Tried, you don't have to come up with any Apple Discussion Message Boards Apps if you don't want to? it's really up to you or whoever creates this part of the Forum? i'm only trying to give you some help or Suggestion or an iDea whatever you call it & i'm sorry for posting this when i know it will get deleted maybe? or maybe in The Apple Discussion Message Boards we can have a Apple Suggestion Forum for Future iDea's or whatever it may be that you want to call it? maybe some people would like to post there Thoughts & Suggestions & Future idea's to Apple on here of what they would like & want to see as long as there is no Bashing & trashing & arguing with each other & i'm sorry if I Got carried a way to much if I Did? just thought I Would have a Suggestion/Idea on an Apple Discussion Boards App for Apple iPhone & iPod Touch maybe someday on The Apple iTunes in The App Store? but if you don't think my Suggestions are so great? its ok i'm Sorry I Bothered anyone on this Forum about this, ok peace & take care from Byron.

Apple sells unlocked iphones now.
They can be used with any compatible/GSM carrier.
Iphones are not compatible at all with Sprint.
T-Mobile is currently being purchased by AT&T.
