Connect your iPod, if it is set for automatic update you will get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using a lot of the utilities your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers has been introduced with iTunes 7. The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved and it won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are comparatively inexpensive these days and you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

I have a problem with my wi-fi cant get to work, I will pick a server then they ask for a password, to my knowledge this has never been asked in the past/ This happened with I installed OS7. A friend in CA was able to connect but when I returned to AZ I have not been able to setup the Wi-FI.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Hello, I'm new to the forums. I have a problem, and I apologize if it has already been addressed.
I have a Canon DC-40, which does not have firewire. I love iMovie, and would not even consider using a Windows based movie editor...:) Once I finish my mini DVD on my camcorder, I can burn it onto a DVD so that I can put it inside my iBook G4. The only problem is, if I try to import it, it will start to import than abrubptly stop importing.
I have come to realize that I need to convert my files to .mov, but my files are in .vob. Is there some good programs out there that will help convert my DVD into a format that iMovie will accept?
I have tried several things, converting the .vob into .wmv, (I can use windows applications on my mac) with no avail. It's frustrating, I just want to edit some movies! :P

I know, this has probably been asked a million times, but....
I'm working on a website using iWeb and I want to embed a forum on it. I'm currently using a forum supplied by webs.com by embedding the HTML code they gave me on the page (which is what I'm supposed to do with it.)
Whenever I click on the various board within the forum, however, they open in a new frame, instead of the same frame. I'm not sure how to fix this. It happens in both Firefox and Safari, but a friend of mine says that it works just fine for him in IE. Anyone know how to fix this or where I can get a better forum that is easy to embed and doesn't require an installation on the server side (webs.com doesn't really let you do that....)

Where it says "FORUM GOES HERE" you use the embed code from your forum (actually, you can put anything there, like I did with the News Feed on my Home page www.emceese7en.webs.com/site/home.html)
You can adjust the size of the box using the width and height in the code (currently at 950x952).

Will pre-subscription purchases of Photoshop Extended CS6, CS5.5, and 5, Premier Suite CS5.5, Lightroom 4, Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop and Premier Elements, etc remain usable after the subscription expires? I mean, I am nearly 70 now, and at some time I will need to stop the subscriptions, but may wish to continue to "piddle" around with photography, and would like to continue to use the current versions of Adobe software I have purchased to date.

No, there will be no Photoshop CS7 at all, ever. There will be no upgrades to the perpetual license of CS6. CS6 is the end of the line. It will continue to work just as it is, as long as your OS suppurts it; but there will be no upgrade versions from it.
For me it is absolutely the end of the line. I will not be adopting the CC thing. -
This has never been a problem before, but when I insert a CD, iTunes does not ask me if i want to import the songs. It will not play the CD and ejects it. I have tried several different CDs and cannot import or play any of them. I can play songs that are already in my library Suecq5

If that doesn't help you can try a cleaning disc, or a shot of compressed air but chances are good that your optical drive has failed. You can either replace it or buy an inexpensive external unit (but not Apple's as it won't work on macs with a built in drive working or not). -
My S5 shuts down on its own with no warning, no rhyme or reason. It attempts to factory reboot when it does it too! It freezes up at least once a week and becomes a $600 worthless brick. This has all been happening since day two that I got it. Went back to Verizon store and they told me nothing was wrong with my phone and they would not replace it. I'm at my wit's end. HELP!

Photos from the Internet will not load correctly. I get white boxes with blue question marks inside. This has only been happening for the past 3 weeks so I'm not sure why it is happening.
Yes - email & text work fine but when I use something like Google Images or search a blog with imbedded photos I get the empty white boxes with question marks. If I click the question mark it opens the photo but I can't possibly do that for EVERY image on EVERY page I search!?!?! I've rebooted the iPad & my wireless card several times but neither action helped. Have any clue what I should do now?

I tried to download my pictures with my memory card from my camera (this has always been sucessful) however the pictures would not download, and appear to be encrypted and unable to view, also not saved in my 'Iphotos' This also erased the pictures from the memory card. Help.....anyway of retrieving them?
With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
did you get a message when trying to import from the memory card?
did you use a card reader?
what was you exact workflow for attempting the import?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library? See image below:
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

Trying to play purchased TV series to my Apple TV, I am requested to authorise the computer. This has already been done and I have tried the suggestions regarding authorisation. I can play the programs on my computer, but not the Apple TV.

Firefox is giving me issues to where it crashes at supposedly random times. It has frozen up when merely left on but more than often tends to freeze when opening a new page.
