Hello, it doesn't seem like there is a lot of info out from Apple regarding a stolen iPAD,
I been to police for report, insurance not helpful since under deductible, so its a lousy situation for sure, I am a mobile me subscriber and did sent out a signal to locate but nothing happened, I guess I didn't have it turned on or if its a free search or not . So my question is : Since I can not clear the apps and info off the stolen unit thru mobile me...... what can I do to move my apps (like 150) and start fresh on a new ipad...
Does the thief have access to my purchased apps for life ? I would like to somehow not let the new owner enjoy what I paid for!!!

Yes I did change my itunes and mail etc passwords....but seems pretty s&itty that the "finder" can run apps I paid for and I cant turn it off for them and set it to work only on my new iPAD (soon i hope).
Another issue is I haven't synced a backup in months, from what I see on itunes are apps I wasn't using. Will it remember ( once I remember a app, that i bought that I find in the app store again, will it say you already own it and to download the new version???)

Stolen iPad , how to IMEI block or track it?

Hi, Apologise if I posted this in the wrong section. But my iPad and Macbook Pro have recently been stolen. I've reported the event to the police, all I have left is the iPad box with it's IMEI number. The Police have asked me to call my carrier or Apple for assistance in tracking my iPad so that they can allocate and return my stolen items "over $7000+". iPad is my only hope left.
I've been reading about lost/stolen iPad, I've called my carrier and requested an IMEI block, but all they did was disable the service associated with the microsim. Police also asked me to call Apple in regard to this matter, but as I read through topics of topics of lost iPhone/iPad. It seems that either Apple really do not have the ability to track it down or they do not want to do so. MobileMe seems to be the only way.
I had location service on when it was stolen, but I am afraid they have done a restore with itune or changed the microsim. I wish to ask if Apple can help or not in this matter, if they do, which department should I contact? If they won't help, can I do a IMEI block on the device at the very least? Thank you for any advices and ideas!

Rights... I see the logic here, I have a 3G wifi ipad, my carieer would even lied to me about they did the IMEI block which they didn't cause I checked on the amta data base. They want the person whoever using the stolen iphone to get another simcard, the carieer get benefits from it.
As for the person who lost the ipad, would be likely to get another via insurance or buying another on the market. The ultimate bingo goes to Apple, means they sell more ipads!
I could not help but have a thought of the fact that both carrier providers and apple are indirectly encouraging uses of stolen devices. They would had at least allow consumer to block out their stolen device when given reasonable proofs. If I didn't lose my ipad and then find out knowing how hopeless it can get losing
an apple device.
Especially device of high demands like an ipad, which is used by people to store lot of information on it and I guess at least some of it is very private and important and they are on a criminal's hand. I have tried MobileMe, but I also realise that they can simply use another sim card and still be able to used the device and access the information inside, all they need to do is turn off location service or a restore with itune.
Apple should at least provide some security option for the orignal owner of the device to disable the device via an IMEI block via itune which will disable the device rendering it useless, or if device is restored, the data will also be erased for good by implementing some of mac complete erase options into itunes.
Just a angry thought about my loss. Sorry for the attidue, I did love my ipad.

I don't know exactly what you've done or where you've been in the process, here are a couple of items that might help. If not, and you have any more specifics of what's been happening, post back to see if someone can help.
Here is an HP document about Updating Windows 8 to 8.1 to check to make sure you're not missing anything when you're updating.
And here is a set of instructions from Microsoft to Update to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8.
If you still have issues, perhaps the exact error message would help.

You will only be able to track your iPad if you have find my iPhone active and the iPad is connected to a network.

the area on the bottom surrounding the mouse sensor, anyone find a good way of cleaning that? everything i've tried leaves marks or is ineffective....
this was the result of my attempt to clean it looked worse
even bought a "micro-fiber" lens cleaning sheet...bought a few actually--different brands. didn't really help.

Hi there,
I am using Oracle Reports 6i and Oracle Forms 6i
I'm experiencing an issue when calling a report from a oracle form.
After log in and run a form I trigger the run_product(); function, it will open the report window and prompt the user connect window every time.
This was not happening before, but I did reinstalled and reconfigured the oracle Database which is an Oracle 10g, after that this issue rised up.
Probably I messed up something in the instalation but I have no clue what was that.
I'll appreciate a lot your help.

Going by watt rating is bad thing to do as cheaper PSUs give high watt ratings yet don't provide the amps needed on the +12 volt rail. Look for a PSU in the 450 watt range that has a single +12V rail that has around 30A for +12V. Try to avoide multi rail PSU. You will be looking at something in $80-$90 US price range for a good one.

Can my credit card info be accessed via a stolen iPad 3G?

Today I met with this guy I corresponded with on Craigslist to sell my 16GB 3G iPad, to him for $475.
(I wanted to upgrade to the 32GB 3G iPad, but didn't want to return it with a restocking fee)
So I get there (a restaurant) and I spot him, we sit down to arrange. He pulls out an envelope and places it next to me. A waitress comes up to us (we were seated at a table) and asks if we're ordering anything... I told her no we're just gonna be here for 2 minutes tops, and she explained we can't be there if we're not customers. While turning my attention to her, that's when the guy literally just grabbed my iPad, bolted out like he was running from a psycho killer. Just JETTED out there, I stood no chance. All I could do was shout out "Somebody call the police!" and chase after him, but he had already rounded the corner, was about halfway down the block, and slid into a waiting car w/ driver.
Now long story short... I did "Erase all Settings & Content" on my iPad before we met, for security. Thing is, I do NOT want to have to cancel my Unlimited Data Plan, because I will lose it. Since my AT&T account info on that iPad cannot be accessed without my email and password, am I safe from anybody getting my CC info on that stolen iPad? would it be OK if I just have AT&T switch the Unlimited Data to my "New" iPad? I know for a fact they can "switch" over a data plan to a new unit.
Would my stolen iPad and its SIM, and my account, be safe???

That's really terrible, sorry to hear that. Your cc and account info should be fine if you did the erase. I would contact AT&T and tell them, if you already have your new iPad, they'll transfer it, if not they should be able to remove that device from your account. I would also report the theft to the police, and give them the serial# if you have it. Sorry I'm not of more help.
This makes me afraid to take mine outside...

Stolen ipad! How do I know it's erased

Hi I have been reading these posts as my ipad was stolen the other day. I enabled a pass code and have the find my iPhone enabled.
The thief connected to wifi because it notified me where it was but i haven't recieved an email to say that the remote erase has started or anything
Is my ipad erased?
I enabled the function and it says pending until connected to internet, but it must have connected to the internet or I wouldn't have recieved the email saying where it was!
I have changed my Apple ID password \ iCloud password my email passwords
I'm just worried and wanted some clarity to say my info has been erased

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

Also, I had no clue that my iCloud could be backed up via cellular data! However, is this a new feature with the most updated iOS?? Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone. How can I sync using USB? Right now when i click on the info tab for my iPhone in my iTunes this is the answer that I get -- I am a little unclear as to what it means.

Stolen iPad 2

My iPad 2 was stolen yesterday. It has a passcode. I have 3G service and I was able to track it once and pass the information along to the police. (It took hours to get them the information so I'm not sure they actually found anything.) I'm not quite sure if I have it set to wipe after 10 attempts. My question is when it's disabled after 10 wrong attempts, is the 3G service still working so that it can be tracked again if powered on. What is actually available when its disabled? Can I still track it if its disabled but powered on? Thanks in advance.
