"sorry we're unable to continue your activation" keeps popping up

i have iphone 3g,when i was installing the latest software of iphone the phone suddenly went into recovery mode. then i tried activating again but  "sorry we're unable to continue your activation" keeps popping up every time i tried to activate it again. your reply and help will be much appreciated.

i don't understand what you're trying pinpoint because i'm not used to these things, i'm sorry...
what actually happened is that after i tried to install the latest software(i installed 2 softwares already if im not mistaken it was version 4 something and 5,i haven't got problems with that and my software is always updated. when the new software update arrive i tried to install it like i always do however, i just encountered this problem which resulted my phone into recovery mode)
it was still the same after few weeks of retrying, turn-off...all i can see on my phone is the itunes icon/logo.. then earlier i tried to restore my previous iphone software again via itunes, then it turned on (the itunes icon is gone now), there were simple instruction like what language to use, country from, and wifi connection thus resulting into this "sorry we're unable to continue your activation" thing.
