"sorry we're unable to continue your activation" keeps popping up
i have iphone 3g,when i was installing the latest software of iphone the phone suddenly went into recovery mode. then i tried activating again but "sorry we're unable to continue your activation" keeps popping up every time i tried to activate it again. your reply and help will be much appreciated.
i don't understand what you're trying pinpoint because i'm not used to these things, i'm sorry...
what actually happened is that after i tried to install the latest software(i installed 2 softwares already if im not mistaken it was version 4 something and 5,i haven't got problems with that and my software is always updated. when the new software update arrive i tried to install it like i always do however, i just encountered this problem which resulted my phone into recovery mode)
it was still the same after few weeks of retrying, turn-off...all i can see on my phone is the itunes icon/logo.. then earlier i tried to restore my previous iphone software again via itunes, then it turned on (the itunes icon is gone now), there were simple instruction like what language to use, country from, and wifi connection thus resulting into this "sorry we're unable to continue your activation" thing.

I tried to restore, update and back up my ipod touch. once it said it was successful i clicked on the label of my ipod in itunes and it had written, "we're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time." now whenever i click on the label it just says that and on my ipod it tells me to plug into itunes when it already is. i didnt update restore or back it up with the latest version, so i downloaded the latest version, how do i start the process again so my ipod works!! help this is gay !!
Hmm, well... iTunes trys to activate your iPod using the Apple server to make sure you have bought it legit.
Two things come into my mind:
1) Your iTunes can't access the internet.
2) Apples activation servers are down.
That's just my cents, maybe anyone else has an idea. -

I found an article from Apple that specifically outlines how to try and troubleshoot this issue. It's called iPhone: Troubleshooting activation issues found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3424.
Resolution
Perform the following steps if you receive one of the messages above:
Restart the iPhone.
Try another means of reaching the activation server and attempt to activate.
Try connecting to Wi-Fi if you're unable to activate using a cellular data connection.
Try connecting to iTunes if you're unable to activate using Wi-Fi.
Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you attempt to activate your iPhone, try to place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you're still unable to complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Applefor assistance.

I am in exactly the same problem here as this person. Exactly the same problem.
No, it was not jailbroken. And now because it's in this loop, there's no ability to restore and such on itunes as the only option now is ever 'eject'. -

so what I can doIf you don't know exactly where it came from, then odds are you have a hacked, gray market phone.
Call AppleCare and give them the serial number. They should be able to tell you if it's carrier locked in their database. If it is, the only hope of it ever working again would be to get the original carrier to authorize unlocking it. If they won't, it's a brick. Even if they do, there's a chance it may never activate properly again because of the hack. -
Now update ios 6.1 through itunes, but it is not activating

I can't activing me IPhone 3gs after restore following message showen in iTune :

I done some internet seach , most of the stuff said use the RedSn0w uploadf following IPSW or something like that :

PS. if update the above , every reboot your Iphone device should reboot from same IPSW using computer for upload

Trying to sync an old iPhone to iTunes and error message in iTunes appears: "We are sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time" so unable to sync.
How long has this been going on?
If more than 48 hours, then try a different computer. -
Attempting to restore Iphone 3 to factory deafalut, to finish "unlocking" the Iphone 5.
Moving the phone from one cellular carrier to another (in this case Rogers to Bell in Canada).
Rogers "unlocked" the phone on their end for $50.00, sent an email to Apple requesting serial # to be released from their network, and to provide "unlocked" status.
Next step was to restore phone to "factory default" in I tunes, and wait for phone to reset and show "unlocked" status.
Upon phone resetting in Itunes, after the "factory default", received the following error message"
"we are sorry, we are unable to unable to continue with activation at this time Please try again, or contact customer service".
I contacted Apple customer service whom confirmed that the phone is showing as "unlocked" in their system.
New carrier that I am attempting to hook phone up states that the phone is still locked.

I bought a new iPhone 4s from a electronics shop here in Norway today with a norwegian network. When I tried to activate my iPhone, I got this message:
"We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation at this time"
I also tried to activate the iPhone from the phone itself, but it gets stuck when I try to type in the PIN-code and tells me that I have to write in the PUK-code, even though I haven't typed in the wrong PIN-code. I've tried to hard reset the phone, reboot the computer and turn off the firewall, but nothing worked.
Could this have anything to do with the fact that I've changed network provider, and it's going to take about 10 days for the new SIM-card to work?Hope you already found a solution, if not try this:
