    On mac website they write about the upgrade.
    Compatibility:
    Requires Mac Pro (Early 2009 with 1066MHz DDR3 memory) or Mac Pro (Early 2008 with *800MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM memory*) with PCI Express 2.0 slot
    will the card work on my mac???
    If not what are my other options as I have not so great NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256MB

    It is only when you get to the bottom, and that you want to PLAY GAMES that it is possible to answer.
    Having 7300GT is worthless, unless to use 3rd monitor.
    Only Windows has better Nvidia graphics and drivers for games. And if you run Windows, you can use PC card and leave the 7300GT for OS X alone.

  • Fax Errors - what do they mean?

    I have an HP 6500 officejet, and keep getting fax errors, 344 & 346. What do they mean??

    Hello GSBUSA,
    Here's a document on how to interpret different fax error codes:
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=buu02549
    First thing I suggest that you do is to disconnect all other devices from the phone line the fax is connected to and only have that connected and also to test different numbers to see if you get the same error message regardless of where you send the fax. If you get the same error even then I would suggest that you lower the fax speed. You can do this in the Advanced Fax Setup in the Setup menu of the printer.

All within 24h. Of course without any information as to why the problem came up in teh first place. At least it was swift action.

  • Flash, swf icons: what do they mean?

    Hello,
    I have purchased CS4 and am in the process of learning the various tools.
    There is, however, one issue that has always confused me.
    There is one icon that looks like this:  a white paper with a red f and a red bar with the white letters swf
    There is a second icon that looks like this: red square with the white letter "f"
    Could someone please distinguish those two icons for me?  And perhaps in the context of the following:
    I have a software system, X,  that says it uploads flash, and the icon one can click on is the first one, above.
    I have a software system, Y,  that says it outputs to flash, and the icon is the second one I listed.
    But I cannot get X to read Y's output.
    And I think it comes down to my confusion as to what the two icons really mean.
    Again, I have CS4, so I am assuming I can port from one to the other; but what are they?
    Thank you in advance,
    Tom

    Thanks a lot, and sorry, I guess that is rather obvious, now that you point out the same symbol occurs in iTunes and I did know what it means there.
    What's confusing me is the very fact that there is a "in the iCloud only" icon at all. I don't want my files only in the cloud in the way that I want my music and videos only in the cloud. The latter are massive. But my docs are tiny.
    When I make a change to a local file in the iCloud drive folder on one computer, I expect not only the file in the cloud to reflect the changers but I also expect those changes to occur in the local file  in the iCloud drive folder on my other computer (and the original one that the changes were made on). I.e., I'm wondering why the file isn't just automatically downloaded (synced?) locally on my iCloud drive folders on my two computers, or automatically synced across all devices. This is the way google drive and dropbox work. They keep all my local files on all my computers in sync perfectly and very quickly. This does not seem to occur necessarily with iCloud drive. In fact, I'm having problems getting files to sync (if that's the right word) at all across all my devices. I never have this problem with google drive or dropbox. So I find the whole iCloud business mysterious and rather sub-standard. So far, it's no great improvement on the old Mobile Me. Apple just seems incapable of handling online storage.

  • EULA question... what do they mean by trade secrets? I don't want to break any rules.

    Hey;
    I am sorry I've asked so many questions lately and thanks for everyone who has helped me. The Dreamweaver EULA says that you can't expose any trade secrets. I have no clue what that means. If they mean their ajax coding or php.... well thats embedded in every Webpage made with their software?
    Are they referring to the criminal type who dissasemble and reverse engineer to find out what makes the program tick? I do not do that!! I hate people who do that. That is jail worthy in my book.
    Any info will help on this matter so I don't break this very oddly worded rule.

    Hello
    I apologize if this problem was addressed in the faqs, but I couldn't find it there....
    Anyways, I have a kt4v-L and it was working fine until I tried adding another hard drive and a burner.....when i turned the computer on, the screen stayed blank, and the only response was a series of eight short beeps from the motherboard........I read somewhere that a problem could be diagnosed depending on the duration and type of beeps, but I cant find that info and the manual is no help.....if someone can tell me what these beeps mean, or show me where to find out what they mean, it would be much appreciated.

    I know that's alot of WARNS, but what do they all mean? Just for a bit more info (taking the first WARN as an example), Xerces did not exits in this folder. Why is this? And why is it asking for it? I just installed JBoss 3.0.x and then hit run.bat. Anyone know what's going on here?
    Thanks in advance!
    Robert

    I know it's alot of WARN messages, but they fall into two categories:
    1. Jar file not found
    2. Something does not implement any Service methods
    The first one I'm confused as to why I'd get it because I installed JBoss and didn't alter ANYTHING, yet I get those messages. So it means that they didn't include some jars that it needs. Why? What does it mean?
    The second one, I'm also wondering if it's just a useless warning, or is there something I need to do to make these things hook up?

  • What do they mean by Prepaid carriers?

    Hello,can anyone please tell me what Prepaid carrier means?And recently Virgin Mobile USA started offering off-contract iphone 5 for $599,does that mean the other sim can be inserted without unlocking the phone?And they also have some cool monthly plans,so does this look better than contract phones?
    Thank you!

    nsnarayan10 wrote:
    Ok,this Virgin Mobile USA iphone 5 is still carrier locked but only advantage is that we dont have to pay monthly bills like we do on Contract phones,right?
    Correct,
    nsnarayan10 wrote:
    And is contract phone cheaper than off contract phone?Look I can afford full price of device and I dont have to switch sims,but I would like to know if contract phone is cheaper by the time the contract concludes?
    Thank you so much!
    That mostly depends on the type of plan you get. While it may be cheaper upfront, in the long run it may not be.
    Think about it this way, off contract: you pay $599 upfront, and that's it.
    Monthly, you'll pay say $299 for the phone, but then you'll pay monthly $59 for a middle of the pack plan for 24 months.  That's about $1400 + $299  for the phone.  Obviously you pay more with the more costly plans.
    If you don't use a lot of data (stick to Wifi), and make very few calls, and very few text messages, you may be better off with the Off contract phone.

  • What do they mean ...exception  passed up call stack

    For the project I am working on, we throw a created exception. This exception is "passed up the call stack if thrown by the object". I understand how to throw exceptions and try/catch, and rethrow. What are they talking about...passing it up the call stack?? I can't find any reference to this anywhere. Am I supposed to just ignore the exception and hope it gets caught in another class or method?

    look at:
    public class A {
    public static void main(String args[]) {
      try {
        new A().foo();
      } catch (Exception e) { }
    public void foo() throws Exception {
      bar(1);
    public void bar(int i) throws Exception {
      if (i>=0) bar(i-1) else gar();
    public void gar() throws Exception {
      goo();
    public void goo() throws Exception {
      throw new Exception("ouch!");
    }  // end of class AWhen the program is run, main creates an A, and calls foo()
    foo() then calls bar()
    bar() then calls bar() again
    bar() then calls gar()
    gar() then calls goo()
    This is called the "call stack". It is (something like) the stack of method calls that are performed. The terminology comes from the fact that when a method calls another, the information about the calling method is actually pushed onto a Stack data structure. When the called method returns, the information is popped back off, so the calling method continues to run from where it left off.
    Now goo() throws an Exception to gar()
    gar() then throws it up to bar()
    bar() then throws it up to bar() again
    gar() then throws it up to bar()
    bar() then throws it up to foo()
    foo() then throws it up to main()
    That's what it means that the Exception is passed up the call stack.

    DHCP has the ability to push a large number of configuration parameters out to the client.
    Some are common (IP address, subnet mask, router address, etc.), but there is a myriad of esoteric options that are rarely used.
    In this case your server is reporting that certain options are not configured. For example, 'dhcpnetinfo_servertag' (DHCP Option 113) indicates the name of the NetInfo parent domain. If you're not using NetInfo this will be empty, and that's what the log is reporting.
    Overall, I don't see any problems from these logs. They're all normal, common messages based on how your DHCP server is configured.
    You can read man bootpd to get a list of some of the other DHCP options that the server can provide, along with details of how to configure them.
