Sort Albums Doesn't Work

I have a bunch of albums in iPhoto that I am trying to sort, and it just doesn't work.
When I select them, right-click, and choose "Sort Albums" from the context menu, either *nothing* happens, or else the order of the albums is altered in some seemingly random way but the results are not alphabetical order.
I don't see how the program could somehow not understand "alphabetical" so there must be something keeping it from actually doing the sort. Anybody have any clues?

When there is a selection, if "Sort Albums" will do nothing then the option should be greyed out. Otherwise, it should sort those items which are selected. Doing nothing and giving the user no feedback is not acceptible.
You are right, that is confusing. It is either a bug or a poor design.

SPGridView - sorting Dates doesn't work properly & how to display the title column as link?

I've got a SPGridView that is being filled with data from several lists. Some of them are a date-field and a title-field. I already added sorting, paging and filtering options and at first look they seem to work fine. But now I noticed that sorting dates
doesn't work as expected. If I select ascending sorting, the result is something like this:

If I select descending sorting, the result is this:

This isn't what I want obviously.
I just added the EventReceiver for the sorting like it is shown in several tutorials:
(The date field is a BoundField.)

And my second problem is how to add a link to the title column. In my grid I'm displaying tasks from different lists and I want to link the title to the related task. I stumbled accross HyperLinkFields and tried this:

The actual link should look more like ...sites/MySite/Lists/mytasklistname/DispForm.aspx?ID=.... or something like that to display the task details. How could I achieve that?

Create calculated column.
Insert following formula -
="<a href='"&UrlFieldName&"'>"&Title&"</a>"
Set "data type returned from this formula is" to integer.
As a result on list view you will see the title with link to your url.
UPD: It seems that URL field is not valid for calculated column, as workaround you can copy url value in a receiver into the another text field, which is not shown on the view.

Music album doesn't work on iPhone 4

I have an iPhone 4 and about a month ago I bought lil Wayne's new album on iTunes. Recently, I went to listen to the album and it doesn't work, it says the song is playing but no sound comes out.

I fixed my powerbutton easily with some
water repellent oil. I dont know what its called, it is that thing you use for locks and hinges anyway. My iphone powerbutton has been working for like 7 months now. There is no difference from when it was new! I can really recomend this. Just remember to turn of the phone and have it upside down when you spray. And dont use to much! Theres no need for more than a few drops.

Sort Now doesn't work

Hi. I'm working in Numbers 3.2, and realized my Sort Now button is greyed out. I can't access it, and can't sort anything. I tried opening a new document and it's greyed out there as well. Any ideas about how to fix it? Thanks

Complete My Album Doesn't Work

I've been having this issue since December of last year and actually posted a discussion about it in March, and I was wondering if anyone had had any success at getting Complete My Album to work again. Basically, iTunes does not give me the option to complete any albums. The text is not grayed out as it should be. I'm wondering how to fix this, because I don't want to pay the full price for an album when I've bought most of the songs off of it. Thanks!

Doing this would be fine for an album here and there, but I have over 100 I can "Complete" and I'm getting this message on almost every one of them, and it's been going on for a couple weeks.
We shouldn't have to "Report a problem". We should be able to click the complete button, and get the rest of the album just like Apple is telling us we can. It's gotten real annoying clicking all the "Complete" links untill I find one that actually works.

CS4 Bridge Star sorting system doesn't work

I have been using Photoshop and Bridge for years, but just started using Bridge in CS4 (Windows XP Pro). The sorting system where Bridge will display only those images with a specified number of stars simply does not work. I have never had this problem before, on any machine and with any version before CS4. (In other words, I know hot shi works because I've used it in CS2 and CS3, but it simply does absolutely nothing in my Bridge CS4!) Any recommendations?

I know it's curious why I'm just getting to his now. I have had the software installed for a long time. I just haven't used it.
I have been using Photoshop since PS 7, and this is a registered upgrade that I've had for quite a while. But I am slow in converting, and I have still been using CS2 up until recently. (I have some routines and actions built into CS2 that I'm not good at re-building or converting into a new version.

Do you mean that you can't download it or that you've downloaded them but the tracks don't play ?
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that album and use the 'Report a Problem' link (iTunes support should reply within, I think, 24 to 48 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

Bug - iTunes 5 - Postcasts - Sorting columns doesn't work

Podcast columns in iTunes 5.0 (34) do not sort. The only clickable column is release date, and nothing changes except for the arrow. Would be nice if the other columns were sortable as well.

Restrictions
Break Order has no effect on columns that belong to the lowest group of a particular query.
Break Order only affects columns in groups that are above the lowest child group of a query.
You have to add an "ORDER BY" in the SQL query in order to sort the columns belonging to the "lowest group"

Shuffle by album doesn't work

Hi, i have a 5g ipod 60gb. I have about 15 different albums by the smashing pumpkins. I want it to play a random song from each album, like if i was to have the 15 discs in a 15 disc changer and put it on disc shuffle, it would play one song randomly off a random disc. How do you do this, its the main reason i got an ipod to begin with?

You could create a playlist containing just the albums you want to shuffle, then in the iPod, go to SETTINGS > SHUFFLE, and set it to SONGS. Then, go back and play that playlist & it will be shuffled.

Album shuffle doesn't work

For some reason, selecting shuffle by album doesn't work for me. In fact, all of the three shuffle by options seem have the same effect; shuffling by song.
whats going on? shuffle worked fine in 4.9. what did apple do to mess up a perfectly working shuffle feature? Am I missing something, or are other people having this problem?
On a similar note, I'd like to be able to select what type of shuffle I want by playlist, so I don't need to go into preferences to switch that when I change playlists.

Album shuffle is currently only working if you have the smart shuffle slider exactly in the middle (ie, "random"). If you move the smart shuffle slider in either direction it causes album shuffle to instead become "song shuffle".
So, place the slider back in the middle and it should work just like it did in 4.9.

Within Music Library can anyone please explain why when I select the option to sort 'Album by Artist' a number of tracks are being treated as separate albums? How can I correct this? I have tried to 'drag and drop' but that doesn't work.

There's a kind of albums. Double CD in one set. Queen "The Works" 1984, for example.
First CD is the original release and the second one is bonus CD for the original album's reissue in 2011.
iTunes 10 took year info from track 1 of CD1 for "sort album by year" function.
But new iTunes 11 takes the highest value of year in the album's track list.
Same things with additional bonus tracks for the album's reissues.

So my collection is in a huge mess after last update to iTunes 11.
It's a big problem. And must be solved to the next update.

I noticed this too, and I think it gets even more complicated when you think about the difference between how you want Re-releases to be ordered: based upon the intial release year (like you have described above), and Compilations or Greatest Hits: where you want them to be sorted by when the albums were actually released. iTunes 11 seems to just grab the date of the most recently released song on an album. This worked fine for 2/3 of my Compilation albums, because they just happened to be released the same year as the latest song on each album.
Compilation example (released: 2003, latest song on album: 1969):

This issue is actually aimed at iTunes 11, but 10.6.3 is the most recent version number I could select in the drop-down menu.
As with normal albums, iTunes 11 puts a release year next to "Various Artists" in Albums > Expanded View (and also in the Songs and Genre Tabs). However, iTunes seems to produce this number by looking for the last released song on the album. This has worked fine for 2/3 of my compilations, but the third one is a 60s compilation released in 2003. It displays "1969" next to "Various Artists" and there are no tags available in Get Info to change this. This also happens to greatest hits collections.
When selecting View > View Options > "Artist" then "Year" in Album view, and View > View Options > "Year" in Artist and Genre view, the above issue causes compilations, greatest hits collections, and re-releases (Although users may want re-releases to be listed in order of original release) to be sorted in the wrong order.
Considering iTunes 11 has added this feature (in previous iTunes versions, "Year" would only appear next to individual tracks), it is a shame an "Album Year" or "Sort Album Year" hasn't been added to the Get Info options.
As is, the only solution I can think of is to change all track years to the release year of the album.
I imagine this might be a bit of an edge case, and not something the majority of iTunes users would care about, but then again, I could imagine a fair number of musicphiles wanting control over this metadata.

Remove the Order By clause from your Select statement and then use the Report Attributes to determine your sort order.
