"Sort Albums" not working in Iphoto 11

I see a lot of discussions about not being able to sort albums manually. I have not problem with that. When I control click on the name of the album, and hit "sort albums" noting happens. This used to work. I do not want to manually sort, since I have a ton of albums. HELP

I'm able to sort albums both way, inside folders and those out of folders. The feature exists. As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos, create a number of albums and albums in a folder and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it? I'm running iPhoto 9.4.3 on 10.8.4.

I am using iphoto 11 version 9.4.2 I used to be able to drag & drop my albums into a preferred order. Now when I try to move a particular album within the album section by dragging & dropping, a new folder is created containing the album I was trying to move. How can I move albums into a particular order. Why are folders being created when I try to move albums?

Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache folder(s):
Home/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
and, if there is one, the
Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks, 10.9, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

Table sort is not working for columns.

I am using TableSort.java class. Followed https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sapportals.km.docs/library/user-interface-technology/wd%20java/wdjava%20archive/developing%20with%20tables%20in%20web%20dynpro.pdf
to create the action and assigned that to onSort event for the table. When I run, I see the ascending-descending icons besides the columns, but nothing happens when I click them. Here is the context.

Here Name is a custom string (last name, first name). Also office is a custom string (office1, office2, ...etc).

If you want to do an initial sort. You have to add the following method to the TableSorter class.

In your wdDoModifyView() after initializing the tablesorter class you have to call the above method.

Can you double check in your code if the table is bound to the node "User_Search_Results" and not "User_Table". If the table is bound to the "User_Table" then the sort will not work since in the code you are sorting the node "User_Search_Results".
If you want to implement sort on only one column you can use the alternate constructor for the TableSorter class.
TableSorter(IWDTable table, IWDAction sortAction, Map comparators, String[] sortableColumns)
You have to give a String array of columns that need to be sort enabled.

Videos not working in iPhoto

Installed Snow Leopard last week and since then I cannot get my video files to play through iPhoto (I have the 08 version). I installed Quick Time 7 as suggested in a discussion elsewhere, but it didn't do the trick. I can get the videos to play through QT if I open the files through Finder, just not working w/ iPhoto.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Try this:
Launch the Terminal and at the prompt paste
sudo /usr/libexec/xpchelper --rebuild-cache
It will ask for your password. Type it in (but remember it won't show it to you) and hot return.
Quit the Terminal and restart iPhoto.

Depending on how many different columns you can sort on and the data types of them, it may be feasible for you to include the conditional logic in the existing statement without the need for dynamic sql...

Drag and Drop not working in iPhoto

I have a brand new MacBook Pro running Lion, and recently when I try to drag and drop in iPhoto, it stops working. I want to drag photos from iPhoto to a folder on my desktop in order to upload those pictures online. I have never had a problem with drag and drop in Snow Leopard, but suddenly Lion does not want to let me do it.
I checked around and found out about repair permissions, which I did, then I restarted the computer. Drag and Drop worked for a few minutes, then all the sudden it wouldn't let me again. I was in the same album, trying to drag and drop the same group of pictures, and nothing had changed when it just stopped working again. I really don't want to have to restart the computer EVERY time it wont let me do this. Does anyone have any other advice? Command copy/paste works for now, but drag and drop is just easier so I'd like to get the issue resolved! Oh, and my software is completely up to date as well.

Does anybody have any ideas?
I've updated to the new version of iTunes since I originally posted this,
but the drag and drop feature is still not working. This is making it
impossible for me to update anything on my iPod.

I updgraded, and I use that term loosly, to the new Maveric.iPhoto stoped working. I upgraded iPhoto and again use the term loosly. Now my music dose not play in iPhoto. Only the Theme music that comes with it works. How do I get my music to work?

ICloud is not working in iphoto, iCloud is not working in iphoto

Hi,
I am having difficulties with installing iCloud 9.5.1. on my iMac from 2007. I have updated all operating systems, but still iPhoto is not working properly. The main reason why I wanted to upgrade from iPhoto '08 to iPhoto 9.5 is the iCloud feature. So all my pictures taken with my iPhone are synced to my iMac. Here lies the problem, I cannot check the iCloud box in the preferences of the installed iPhoto 9.5.1 Neither can I check the option to use iCloud under the iCloud tab in the iPhoto overview.
I have reinstalled iPhoto several times, cleaned it from the OS via CleanMyMac, but still is not working.
I used to use an WD external harddrive as my library, but not anymore. Maybe there is still a hidden path somewhere in my computer referring to that old location? I have made a new local library on my iMac, but also this did not resolve the problem.
I can import pictures from a local folder, or iPhone to the newly installed iPhoto. Although this takes quite some time, this part of the program seems to work.
Anybody some good advice? I don't know anymore where to find the problem.

You do no say how the System Preferences "iCloud" options are set.
Have you clicked the "Options" button besides Photos in the System Preferences iCloud and enabled "My Photo Stream"?
You have upgraded to MacOS X 10.9.3, if you are using iPhoto 9.5.1, right?

Links in photo album not working

Hi, I created a prototype Web Site using DW CS4 and used Fireworks for a photo album. I used the command in Dreamweaver "create web photo album" which ran successfully. When I created the album I told Dreamweaver to put navigation links on the page when displaying a photo. The 'back' and 'next' buttons work but the 'home' button doesn't work. I discovered that it is trying to link to a page that does not exist and if I edit the address bar in my browser I can get it to work. I would like to know where in Dreamweaver you can go to edit where this link sends the user to.

Hi. Thanks for the quick response to my questoin. I have looked around but cannot locate the home page button in dreamweaver but the buttons I am talking about do not show up when you are looking at it in the design view. The button that I am talking about is only shown when you click on a picture thumbnail in the album and it takes you to the picture. Above the picture is a previous, home, and next button. This home page button takes you to the photo album not my actual site's home page. I renamed the file created by fireworks from index to pictures because I already had an index file. I believe that is what is causing the problem but I do not know how to change the link locations because like I said they do not show up in design view.

Spry Photo album not working with spry accordion

I am trying to get a photo album to work in the spry
accordion - so that each panel you click on the accordion is a new
photo subject (ie waterfalls, sunsets ect) but it does not work
well. Both the thumbs and the main picture are visible through all
the accordion panels instead of the one I put it in. Any ideas why
it might not work? Would you need to see my code?

Date Sorting is not working as expected

I am using Report builder 3.0 to create one daily report where I need daily metrics and I am putting it under columns. I want it in day wise order but somehow it shows data in below format. My dates are in M/D/YYYY format. Notice how 1/10 is displayed
before 1/2.
Solutions tried -
1. I tried Putting Date as first thing in the Sorting section on matrix.
2. Created Expression in Sort =Day(Fields!Date.Value)
3. Created custom code to prepond 0 to day and month so dates becomes in MM/DD/YYYY format but it is not working.

Per my understanding that you have some problem when sorting on the column group on the matrix, which don't work, right?
I have tested on my local environment and can't produce the issue, you issue can be caused by the wrong method you have used to setting the sorting, you may set the sorting by select the "Tablix Properties", if so, it will not work.
Please reference to the details information below about how to do the sorting setting:
Right click the "Column Group" and select the "Group Properties".
Select the Sorting on the left pane and do the setting like below:
This setting works fine on my side.

Aperture 2.0 Previews not working in iPhoto 08

I am using Aperture 2.0 and iPhoto 08 with all the most recent updates available. I have iPhoto 08 setup to show previews of my Aperture projects. I did this by telling iPhoto not to organize my photos and leave them in the current location. The previews are viewable in IPhoto, but when I edit or change the photos in Aperture, the changes do not reflect in Iphoto until I clink on the actual photo I updated in Aperture. Then I will see them, but when I click back to the main events window the incorrect older preview of the photo shows up. I have re created both my Aperture and iPhoto libraries with new "test" photos and the problem still exists. I tried this same scenario in the Apple Store on a MacBook Pro and the previews update automatically in iPhoto without any intervention from the user. Any ideas why my Aperture/iPhoto isn't working the same way?

The anomaly there is whatever you witnessed in the Apple Store.
When you import the Preview into iPhoto it makes a thumbnail of it. That's what you see in the Event window.
iPhoto has no way of knowing about changes made to a photo by another application unless those changes are made via iPhoto (as an external editor, for instance). So, it does not read the Aperture database live, it cannot know there have been changes, so it does not update it's thumbnail. Because you're referencing the files in Aperture when you access the file you get the latest version. If you weren't, then you would never know there had been a change in iPhoto.
I guess they thought that folks would only share with the other apps after you finished processing them.
