Sort by title does not work as it should

9.5.1 iphoto is not sorting by title correctly - I have given my photos tiltles which start with the year the photo was taken -not scanned in!!
the previous version of iPhoto got it right - the latest version insists that 2006 comes after 2012 - I never realized this before :-)

Are you using "View > Sort Photos > By Title"? Is the second option set to "ascending" or "descending"?

Check if you enabled scroll lock (fn + insert), in excel it scrolls page when enabled and move across cells when disabled

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Date Sorting for Webcasts does not work....

Has anyone noticed that the "Sort Items by"-->"Date (Most recent)" does not work when you are in the "webcasts" secion of ni.com:

It looks like when you select to sort by date it is actually sorting by title, because they both result in the webcasts being sorted by title.
NI, can you fix this? I typically like to go to the webcasts section and sort by date to see if there's anything new I haven't seen yet. It worked before the website was revamped.

Junk mail just does not work as it should

I've had this for ages and just put up with it.
I have my jumk mail settings set for
Enable: the following types of messages are exempt from junk mail filtering: sender of message is in my address book (and in previouos recipients).
I assume that this means that anyone sending a message who is in my address book will not then appear as junk. This does not happen and despite repeated attempts to assign each one as not being junk it never learns as I thnk it is supposed to. A very few of my incoming messages of people who are in my address book do not appear as junk but I can't see a pattern.
Over time I have tried all kinds of ways to set the various settings but to no avail and now I really think that I should try and sort it as it is low grade annoying. I would appreciate any help anoyne could give.

It looks like iCal hasn't updated when you updated your operating system if it's still writing to a .mac address like you suspected. The most recent version is 4.0.1. If you need to update your actual application you can try copying from another computer with snow leopard installed (I've tested this), or reinstalling Snow Leopard. (not a fun option for such a small issue I know)

This runs in a while next from mysql DB, gets 5 rows back.
If a real date is in the field I want to print out the date in the else.
otherwise I want to display nothing if the date field in MysQL DB has 0000-00-00 inside (default value).

If correct,
Do the following :
Put the rs.getString(4) value into a string. now compare the string. using the code

Function keys does not work as they should.

The function keys has worked as they should since I bought the computer.
When I turned on the computer yesterday, the function keys didn't work as they should.
Example:
Before: When I hit the F5, the light in my keyboard was turned on/off. When I hit Fn + F5, I refreshed the browser page.
Now: When I hit the F5, I refresh the browser page. If I hit Fn + F5, I still refresh the browser page.
I used to control the volume on the computer with F6-8, but now I have to click the speaker icon in the lower right corner and manually "drag" the volume up or down.
Does anyone know how this can be fixed?

WHAT THE HECK IS IN THIS "UPDATE" (misnomer, really)?
It has no description and this forum post is the closest thing to an explanation of it that I could find...
I had no software updates as of yesterday morning. Then, yesterday, I installed HP's total junk driver for my PSC 2210, then tried to do the update hack from 7.9 to 9.whatever and it also failed to get the scanning function working ("Open with Rosetta" also was useless), so I uninstalled both and wiped all HP entries off my iMac, and just used the Gutenprint 5.1 (5.1.3) driver I got online for it (actually, I stole HP's icon for the PSC 2210 - it's the only WORTHWHILE file in their trash software) and added the APPrinterIconPath entry myself:

...and then re-GZIP'd the file and put it back (saving the original).
It's been printing fine for the last 24 hours (but it's otherwise the LAST HP paperweight I'll EVER buy again!).
Now, a day later, this bizarre update comes and does seemingly NOTHING!
I checked my drivers in /usr/share/cups/model/gutenprint/5.1/C/ and NOTHING has changed at all:

Leopard's search feature is AWFUL. It can't find anything of legit importance, so I wind-up using find and grep in the Terminal.

Sort column title does not stay hilighted

This problem started with iTunes 8.0.2. As before, the column title is hilighted when you click on it to sort and remains hilighted when you go in another playlist and get back. For some columns like "Album for sort", the hilighted title changes when getting back to the playlist for "Album" (or Album by year or Album by Artist), but the sort itself seems to remain OK.

"Personalizing Folder Presentation" does not work how it should

Hi All,
i have a problem with the presentation function for a folder.
With this functionality you can change the presentation of an folder, with predefined layout profiles.
In the settings menu you have the possibility to "Apply Settings to All Subfolders". That works fine.
But when I try to add a new folder, the new folder has the presentation of the Default Profile and not,
as one would think, the presentation of the parent folder.
Is it a SAP bug or a feature?

Hi,
That is how it works. There is no inheritance in the presentation settings. When you check the Apply Settings to All Subfolders it goes through all the subfolders and actively sets the presentation settings for them.
That's why a new folder has no settings set for it.
