Sort Clips by Number or Date?

I don't understand how, but most of the clips from a project have moved to the clip pane (right-hand side), rather than the movie viewer (bottom) and become completely mixed-up.
is there a fix to put the clips back in either time or clip order, rather than doing it manually (there are over 300 of them!)?

Select all the clips in the clips pane of iMovie. Drag (i.e. copy) the clips to a new folder on the desktop (or wherever you want).
That can have unexpected results. When we drag clips from iMovie to somewhere else — e.g. to a Finder window or the Desktop — the entire source file of each clip is copied, which may be considerably longer than the clip. If a clip uses just 10 seconds of a 1-hour video file the entire 1 hour of video is copied. Conversely, if 5 clips are supported by the same source file the file is copied 5 times.
If each clip has its own source file and the clip plays the entire source file that's not a problem, but otherwise it can have surprising results.

Clips don't normally move on their own; something went wrong. That shouldn't happen.
Please say more about what occurred. Did the clips move as you were editing the project? Did the project re-open with the clips in the wrong place? Was other editing discarded too? Did it look like the project had reverted to an earlier version of the project?
Was the project created in iMovie 6 or some in an earlier version of iMovie?
Does the project reside on an external drive?
I'm hoping we can nail down the underlying cause to prevent this from happening again.

a. File Name (ascending)
b. Duration (ascending)

im using windows pc.. and a program called 'renamer' which is kinda tricky but free and easy once you figure out how to use it... if you know dos filename conventions and wildcards its easier to figure out.. add rules etc... no clue if this program is avail if you have mac...
but put all files into a temp folder... use the renamer program.. it will write new names to the same folder.. then move all your files where you want to keep them and delete the temp one...
if you want more info I'll chk back here..
the main thing is that you can add prefix to filenames to keep track of what you shot when and ingested ... scenes etc .. or you can replace the sort order by just putting in a number or letter in filename that makes it sort the way you want...

So if code_enreg is not equal to code_enreg_ordered at a specified index of vtab then I must take a decision in my program code ; I must code something when this disorder happens.

How can I restrict the number of Data records from R3 source system that are being loaded into BI. For example I have 1000 source data records, but only wish to transfer the first 100. How can I achieve this? Is there some option in the DataSource definition or InfoPackage definition?

You can surely restrict the number of records, best and simplest way is, check which characteristics are present in selection screen of InfoPackage and check in R3, which characteristics if given a secection could fetch you the desired number of records. Use it as selection in InfoPackage.

How to sort clips in icon view mode in Premiere

I am trying to sort clips alphabetically or by metadata in the icon view mode. When I switch from list view to icon view, premiere seems to arrange the clips randomly, not even alphabetically, which is frustrating because I can't even see the entire clip name. I love icon view mode, and it's nice to be able to drag the clips around, but I would like even more to be able to sort them.

You can't sort in Icon view as their are no 'columns' to sort by. All you can do is move then around manually.

Sorry, I missed part 2. Unless CS4.2 has added a true "Group" function, like in InDesign, Illustrator, etc., there is not a direct way to keep Selected Clips together. However, you can put them on their own Sequence and then Nest that Sequence with others. This is often done, so that one can apply Effects "globally" to that Nested Sequence. [Note: there is no real Group function in Titler either, but for many operations, one can Select multiple Text Blocks, Shapes, Lines, etc., but there is no way to permanently "hold" that group.]
The Alt-click in the Project Panel, for instance, will allow one to drag all to the Timeline, and the Shift-click (or lasso w/ Cursor) in the Timeline will allow one to apply certain things to that group, but the moment that any other Clip is Selected, that "group," does not exist.
I can see a use for a real Group function, but for things like the application of Effects, one would still need to do the Nesting. Test this out by Selecting just two Clips, and go to apply an Effect - you cannot do that. OTOH, one can apply an Effect to one Clip, Rt-click it and choose Copy, then Select multiple Clips and Rt-click on those, where you would Paste Attributes. Not exactly what I think you are asking about, but the results, with just a few clicks, should be the same.

Yes. It's called Date Added. In Song view enable the column by pulling down View > View options and select "Date Added."

Key: I have stored a key in other schema and calling it by using function get_key().

yes, the problem was solved but it had nothing to do with SAP itself...
We have our APO system on two servers: the message server (and DB) runs on an iSeries and the application server and LiveCache server on a SuSE Linux machine. This last server has several iSeries shared (NFS) folders mounted and all TemSE objects are created on one of these folders.
Now the problem is we use a Vision solution for our HA. Whenever Vision is "touching" a file, Linux can't "see" the lock status due to NFS limitations. So, when it is trying to access the same file, a "permission denied" error message is issued to SAP, causing the job to abort and the TemSE object to become inconsistent.
One solution is to change from NFS to Samba.
Another one, much faster to implement, is stopping the Vision job during the night period, when those SAP jobs run. Since then, we didn't had any more problems.
Of course, this is simply a workaround and not a permanent solution!
Could this be your scenario as well?

Reducing Number of Data Points Acquired?

I am interested in knowing how to reduce the number of data points written to a file that was acquired at 5 Hz. I have tried to lower the sampling frequency below 5 Hz on a Compaq Daq, but I get an error saying that is an incorrect value. So, if I can't sample below 5 Hz, how do I acquire fewer data points, or how do I reduce the number of data points written to the file? I have tried Sample Compression which just ignores data points. So, an acquired value is written multiple times at the same rate as having no compression at all. I calculated the sampling frequency from the data file witha compression ratio of 20, 30, and 40 to still be at 5 Hz.

If you want to "compress" your data then you should perhaps try the "Decimate (single shot) VI " Owning Palette: Signal Operation VIs. With this VI you can average down an array. If you have an array sampled with 5Hz and you set the decimating factor to 5, and average=true. Then the output will be an an array downsampled to 1 Hz, with each value equal to the average value of 5 samples in the input array. The decimate function is quite new. It came in Labview 8.2
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

Change number of data file

I need to copy the data files to a SAN and want to change the number of data files form 4 to 1. This is only a small database (22Gb). I don't know how to delete the data files and re create them.

Hi Hans,
no, you can also do it using DBMGUI. The process is really the same as when you're doing a homogenous system copy, the only difference is the target itself is the same db instance.
You'd have to make sure you've backup up all (data+log) and no further data was created (for example by making a full data backup in ADMIN mode and saving the log). Then you'd need to initialize the DB and specify the desired number of (data) volumes and make sure you select the radio button labelled 'Create instance for recovery' during the initialization process, so the instance will only be put into ADMIN, after which you can then recover (using the backups made in the beginning).
I'd recommend to test this out yourself on a small (non production) db instance.
In comparison, from MaxDB version 7.6.00 Build 22 onwards, you would just have deleted the unwanted volumes (taking into respect that the left over volume can hold all data).
