Sort Order on Iphone not the same as on Itunes

Hi, after one of the recent Itunes updates I noticed the sorted order on my play lists is no the same on the phone.
I like to sort by date modified so that my pod casts are in the proper order on the phone. I can work around this by manually picking the next podcast, but still the problem remains and is a software issue which should be fixed.
So, anyone else notice this?
Thanks,
Mike

Yeh I've noticed the same thing, ever since this new iTunes update.
Clearly in iTunes I have my songs sorted in alphabetical order but when I sync to my iTouch the same playlist in the iTouch sorts in a random order.
My smart playlists in iTunes are sorted in alphabetical order, when I sync to my iTouch, all the songs muddle. Whereas normal playlist will sort in the order as I tell them to in iTunes, which follows up on the iTouch.
Weird :S

How do I find out my password to back up and restore my new iphone 6? Its not the same as my iTunes password..

I am guessing you are talking about an encryption password that you placed on the backup you put into iTunes on your computer.
If so, you elected to encrypt your iPhone's backup.  You will need to recall that password, or you cannot access the backup.

  • HT204053 Seems my iCloud password is not the same as my iTunes.  Where do I go to reset my iCloud password?  I cannot access anything when prompted to put in my iCloud password because I do NOT KNOW it.  Thanks!

Seems my iCloud password is not the same as my iTunes.  Where do I go to reset my iCloud password?  I cannot access anything when prompted to put in my iCloud password because I do NOT know it.  Thanks!  I've used my iTunes password for everything else Apple does and would like to use the same one for my iCloud.

    Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • Can two people with their own iPhones use the same computer and iTunes?

Can two people with their own iPhones use the same computer and iTunes?

Yes. My wife and I each have our own Apple ID and used the same computer to sync our phones with iTunes. The best way to do this is set up separate user accounts on the computer. If you are logged in to your account on the computer and your wife wants to sync here phone, you would log out and she would log in. These keeps all your stuff separate and avoids a ton of confusion.

  • Can I backup two iPhones to the same laptop and iTunes account?

Is it possible to backup and sync an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 3Gs to the same laptop and iTunes account?  My wife and I both have iPhones.  Her laptop just crashed, so we only have one laptop to use as a back up / sync now.

Yes, iTunes will maintain separate backups for each device. Note, however, ALL iTunes content, presently on your wife's phone will be erased when you first sync it to your computer. So, you need to get all of that content into your iTunes library first. Read here about your choices for managing multiple devices on one computer:

  • HT201493 I have 2 iphones on the same apple id/itunes account, how do I give them different IDs?

I have 2 iphones (mine & my wife's) on the same apple id/itunes account, how do I give them different IDs?

I am having the same issue.
There is no possible way Apple didn't think this the whole way thru!
Why in the world would I want to create an new Apple ID for everyone in my family & over complicate things?!?  "Face Time" and "Messages" can tie several devices to on Apple ID driven by contact email or phone number.  I am hard pressed to believe that Find my Friends can't be set up in a similar format.
Please help because this is frustrating me to the point of smashing an iPhone or 2!!

  • I pre-ordered two versions of the same album on ITunes! How to stop?

So a few minutes ago I accidently preordered 2 versions of the same album on Itunes on my dell laptop! I want to cancel one, but i dont know how! It told me that you pay for it when it is realsed in November so I have not payed yet for either.

Select all the songs from the album, choose File--> Get Info, then under the Album area, type in the appropriate album title.  They should all appear under one album at that point.

  • Anchor order for floats not the same as positioned frames?

    Hi,
    FM 8.04, Win XP.
When creating two anchored frames (set to "Float" and "Top of column") in the body text, where Anchor A is a couple of lines above above Anchor B in the text, Frame B is actually displayed on the same page and Frame A on the next page.
Is this behavior typical for floats in FM? Sure, I had expected that the frames were floated, but that the anchor order was respected.
    Thanks,
    Mats

    Mats,
IIRC, the float option specifies that the frame can move to the next
column that can physically hold it. So this functionality is also
dependent upon the frame and column size, not just the order of the
frames. I also believe that the top/bottom settings have priority over
the float setting (as by it's nature, the user has stated that they
don't care where this frame ends up).
In your example, with the second frame being set to top of column,
this takes away room from the second frame set to float, so it
migrates to the next available column that it can fit in.

  • My iPhone is not the same as my iTunes account so i cannot sync it or i will lose what i have on my iPhone

my iphone doesn't have the same stuff on it as my itunes account. when i plug it in it wants to take off the stuff i have on my phone

Is there a question in there somewhere?
You can only sync to one computer. One thing you might try though, is log out of the computer with the other account (wife's?) and log in with yours, then sync.

  • Contact Picture on iPhone not the same as on Computer

I recently changed the picture in Address Book for my own contact information, but when I sync my phone the old picture remains in the phone. I've tried erasing and restoring the phone but every time I sync it still uses that old picture, even though I've deleted it from my computer as far as I can tell. Help?

I'm not sure if this will make any difference but try resetting the sync history on your Mac which is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application located in your Applications folder.
After resetting the sync history, restart your Mac and try syncing again.
If this doesn't work, have you also tried restoring your iPhone as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup? This will require changing all iPhone settings manually to the existing but worth a try as one of the last steps since it seems you have tried everything else.

  • Playlist Order Not The Sames As In iTunes

    Hi,
I am using a PC with iTunes 8.2. I have a playlist that consists of 60's Music, 70's Music, etc, then abba, bangles, billy Joel. In operating system 2.2 the playlist displayed properly with the 60's, 70's... then abba, bangles. However, when I upgraded to 3.0 the 60's, 70's, 80's playlists are now at the end of the list. What is strange is that in iTunes 8.2, it displays properly, just not on the touch with 3.0. I don't know if I accidently did something to change the way the playlist is displayed or that now this is how it is displayed. Can someone help!

I see this problem too. The Playlist names (names, not contents) in iTunes are sorted by numbers and symbols first, then letters (e.g. "60's Hits" comes before "Acoustic Favorites"). But with OS 3.0 on the Touch the Playlist names are sorted letters-first, then numbers and symbols (e.g. "60's Hits" comes after "Zydeco Favorites").
I thought it was bad enough when Apple adopted this screwy sorting behavior for song names, album names, etc., but this is very irritating. At least with songs, artists, etc. there is a workaround with the Sort Option fields, but there is no workaround for the sorting of Playlist names.
Please report this issue here, maybe Apple will go back to the old sorting:

  • HT1267 The Apple ID in my new IPhone is not the same as my ID . how can i sort this

Hi, The Users ID on My New IPhone Is not the same as my apple ID
How can I sort this ...

Got it!!!!  A re-install is NOT the answer.  You need to turn on individual notifications under Settings > Facebook > Push Notifications, BUT (and this is a big and confusing BUT) you also need to turn on global push settings under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendards > Fetch New Data (and change the Push slider to 'on').  This doesn't sound like it makes sense, but I guess that the push slider under 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' is actually for ALL push notifications on iPhone, and not just Mail, Contacts and Calendar apps!

  • With iTunes match, order of the songs in my playlist of mobile devices is not the same as on my computer

In my iTunes on computer, I have several smart play lists. Within each playlist, songs are set to a certain order. Some playlist songs order are organized by name, some playlists are organized by Album, some playlists are organized by artist etc.
When I was syncing my iPhone and iPad directly with my computer, the playlists on my mobile device had same order of songs as on my itunes in computer.
Now, I signed up for iTunes match. With iCloud sync, order of the songs in my playlist of mobile devices is not the same as on my computer. In fact, order of songs within a playlist appears to be completely random. Moreover, order of songs are different in my iPhone 4s and iPad 2
How can I change the order of songs on my mobile devices or how do I make iTunes match to sync my songs such that within a playlist, my songs are in the same order as that of iTunes on my computer.

Thanks mracole. I assume this means order of songs will work with regular play lists I iTunes match. Will try it this afternoon and report.
Please let me know if my understanding is not correct.
Best regards and thanks once again.

  • My iPhone serial number and IMEI is not the same as Apple server

    Hello,
My problem started when I want to unlock my iphone 3gs via Imei.
My old iphone broke about a month after i bought it (it was 2 years ago), so i sent it to Movistar to change it (i think that they sent it to appleCare). Now Movistar told me that i have to send the old iphone imei in order to unlock the iphone i have now, i ask apple for the repair order receipt, then i received an email and i could see the information about the 2 iphones: the old broken one and the new one.
Then I realized that the iphone they sent me as a replacement (the new one) is not the same iphone i have. The serial number and the Imei are different, so, should apple change this data in their server in order to unlock my iphone or what can i do to solve it?
There is any formal way to perform this data change?
    Thank you in advance,
    Francisco Marzabal

Here we work with repairs for devices that does not have waranty (expired or other issue). In this case, I did the screen replacement. No other ipad was on my station, the ipad arrives, i took it change the glass, put everithing back, give to customer. Thats it. The job was done by me, the customer test his ipad in front on me, works fine, everything ok. Few days pass and he came back saying that it wasn't his ipad, he brings the box that the ipad came and ask me why the serial number does not match the serial number in the box (sorry NOT in the back of the ipad).
There were no other part changed only glass. After 7 years working on this, thats the first customer complaining about a work done here. After this I was curious and look for more information and some forums, also one port here is claiming that the serial number on the device is not the same as the box where it came.
I just want to make sure that there are possibilities that there could be such mistake during the packaging process.
    Thanks for the replies
