Sort photos in album in iCloud Photo

I have created an Album and added photos to it, but the order appears random.
Is there a way to reorder/sort the photos by date?  Like in the moments view.
Thx,

Did you try to change the sort order when in album view ? You can choose newest, oldest, import batch or album (custom) order.
Or is your problem similar to this one ?

  • Can I organise photos into albums within iCloud Photo Library?

i Understand that edits / deletes etc in iCloud Photo Libary will be reflected on all my iOS devices but can I organise my photos into albums using iCloud photo library?
basically I want to take photos on my iPhone, review them on my iPad, delete the ones I don't want and keep the good ones in a relevant album (e.g. "Summer holiday 2014"). Then I want to be able to see identical albums on both my iPad and iPhone. From what I've seen so far, when I create an album and save a photo to it then that album is only local to that device?
    please help.

Are you saying it showed 800 photos before turning off iCloud photo library or that the 800 photos disappeared after you enabled iCloud photo library for the first time, the distinction is quite important.

  • Albums in iCloud photo library

Can I create albums in iCloud Photo Library that are visib across all my devices?
ALso, can I add photo albums from my PC(not taken on iOS device) to my library?

When I drag albums into the correct order in Photos for Mac, they show up in reverse order on the iOS devices. Thus there seems to be a bug in either iOS 8.3, OS 10.10.3 or iCloud Photo Library.
The browser version of iCloud Photo Library (icloud.com) is currently updating. I am waiting to see which way my albums are sorted there.
There is no promise at all, or documented anywhere, how sorting of library items will sync across the devices. This has been haphazard when syncing iPhoto Libraries - synced faces not sorted, synced events  not sorted, etc. So it is at least a step in the right direction, in Photos that the albums are sorted at all.

  • How to create Album in iCloud Photos on Mac?

Anyone know how to create an album in iCloud photos on the Mac?  It has a section for "My Albums" but I have no clue how to create one.  I want to put all photos into named albums instead of just moments.  I see how to do it on iPhone but it doesn't sync to the iCloud on Mac to look the same.  Let me know what I am missing or not seeing here.  Thanks

You cannot yet create albums in the iCloud Photos.app, only in the Photos.app on your mobile iOS 8 devices, or in the Photos.app for Mac that has yet to be released.

  • Syncing selective Albums through iCloud Photo Library?

Hello, I would like to know whether there is a way to sync selective Albums through iCloud Photo Library? For example, I want album A and B to show on my iPhone but want to see all albums on my Mac. Is this possible?

I don't think so... looking to do this myself...

  • Share an album using iCloud Photo Library

    Hello.
I'm currently using the iCloud Photo Library and it's great.
But, I want to share an album (or just a few photos). But iCloud Photo Library does still not allow to share an album.
So, I want to use a Shared PhotoStream Album. And it seems that the iPhone is uploading my files (photos and videos) to the Shared PhotoStream.
Tell me if it is right... In fact, why the phone is re-uploading the videos/photos if there are already uploaded to my iCloud Library ?
    Best regards,
    Alexis

If I want to share some pictures and videos, I have to specify which photos, album and person... Yes, of course. But when I want to validate the creation of the album, I'll have to wait a long time, in particular if my Wifi is slow. In fact, if the video is already uploaded in the iCloud Photo Library, Apple should simply copy/paste it in the Share Album...

  • How to get existing albums to iCloud photo library

My boss is a home builder and he needs albums of homes across his devices and I'm looking for a solution for getting the albums of photos across the devices.  Any thoughts?  The photos are currently synced from iTunes and when I turn on iCloud Photo Library, it says its going to delete those photos.  Whats the best way to get them in the mix?

Given that it is a beta product - which i certainly understand - it still doesn't seem to work as it has been described.
I have updated to iOs 8.1 on my iPhone 5 and iPad 4; I have approximately 1000 photos which are in albums on the devices, and which I have backed up to my computer. Here is what happens when I turn on iCloud photo library:
I get the warning about removing photos from the device and downloading optimized versions back to the device.
The upload begins, but only selects 50 or 60 photos, and NOT just limited to those which remain in my camera roll.
Only that upload lands on icloud.com.  The other 900 or so just seem to drop into space, and can only be found on my computer.
Only those 50 or 60 are downloaded back to the device.
I swear with great vigor and volume, and restore my computer back up to the device.
I have the sense that there is some obvious step I'm missing, because this just does NOT seem to way this service is supposed to work, and I would think even a beta would work as described.  But I've tried this multiple times on both devices, with the same result.  I had great hopes that iPL would work as it seemed to be described and get me out of backing up to my computer, to Google Plus, and to Onedrive.  Apparently not, at least not yet.
Would be deeply grateful for any advice.

  • Photo albums in iCloud/Photo Stream?

    Hello everybody,
is it possible to create photo albums in iCloud?
I would like to have albums of my last trip's photos uploaded into iCloud, so that I can access them from my iPhone/iPad without using up the devices' limited storage space. Uploading photos into the Photo Stream just results into "one big album", without any structure....
I love the comfort of iPhoto and iCloud and cannot believe Apple is not offering this basic cloud feature.
    Thank you for your help!
    Makusuto

have you looked at a shared PhotoStream for thos photos? that way you can share different sets of photos - much like albums

  • Sync iPhoto album with iCloud photo stream

I have a couple of albums - used basically as categories.
I want to be able to sync the albums with iCloud. I know you could just add the photos to an iCloud photostream, but it takes a couple extra minutes each time when you do that.
So basically, I want my albums to be copied as iCloud albums, and then just updated automatically when I add a new photo to that album.

Not possible.  Send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.

  • HT6378 How to copy iPhoto albums to iCloud Photo Library?

I have several years of photos in my iPhoto library.  How do I copy these into iCloud Photo Library, retaining all my albums?  I don't want to just copy all the photos without keeping my organization.

After having upgraded all devices to latest version, I wonder how do you get now the Mac iPhoto library into iCloud Photo library? iCloud Photo Library setting has been enabled on all devices.
iPhoto on your Mac is not supposed to work with iCloud Photo Library. The new "Photos" app for the mac will be able to do it. The release of this app  has been announced for "Early next year".
For now, only your mobile devices can upload to iCloud Photo Library.  So you have to upload your photos to the mobile devices to get them into iCloud Photo Library Beta.
That is not easy, because you cannot upload from your iPhoto library to your iOS 8 devices using iTunes with  iCloud Photo Library Beta enabled on the device. It will disable syncing photos with iTunes. As long as you are using  iCloud Photo Library Beta, mail the Photos to your devices or upload using Photo Stream.

  • Why can't I edit albums in iCloud photos on a PC?

I am using iCloud photos on a PC.  Some major issues:
I cannot edit or create albums
Albums I have created on my iPad do appear on the iCloud Photos, but none of the photos place in the albums appear in the albums (which are thus all empty!)
    The upload continually crashes
When you open and album and click on upload, the photos do not upload to that album: they upload to the general folder.  This then makes the general album ridiculously unwieldy: the process of allocating photos to an album on my iPad is very time-consuming.
Basically, this means I am far better off syncing to photo folders on my PC rather than using iCloud.  This is a real shame, as the space-saving features of iCloud photos (and the totally misleading descriptions of it in the Apple website) are great.

  • Ghost album on iCloud/Photos app

    Hi guys!
Well, I can't solve this "bug".
A few days ago, I created a album on my Photos app in Yosemite (10.10.3). OK.
This album was sync with iCloud. OK.
I decided delete this album on Photos. And he was gone of Photos, apparently. But in iCloud, NOT. Days passed, and I saw this album on a app in my iOS. So I searched on my Photos and the album showed up. But only on search result, not in album list (physically). In my MBA (Photos app), same thing happened.
Please, I need assistance. I tried many solution, but without success.
I want and need DELETE this album.
I have iCloud Photo Library activated in both devices.
I hope I have been clear with my problem.
    Thanks!
PS: Sorry by my english. I'm brazilian.

If you have the same problem be sure to also fill a bug report. The more reports Apple gets about this problem the better are the chances they solve this problem.
Yeah, a lot of users have a same problem, I guess.
I'll send this error on bug report page. This bug started for me on betas of Yosemite. Before, I don't saw it happens.
I hope Apple fix this on the next updates.
You could fix it in some other way?

  • My iPhone 4 (iOS 5.1.1) only lets me take 50 photos before it fills up. My Photo Stream album has 1000 photos in it. Is that preventing me taking more photos?

The iCloud FAQ seems to say iCloud does NOT automatically physically download and store all its photos back on all your devices, yet I'm sure the reason I can't take very many photos is because iCloud is doing just that....sending photos I already deleted from the phone's (non-photo-stream) standard photo library back to the phone and thereby filling up my phone's hard drive. I thought PhotoStream and iCloud held your photos in the "cloud" so you could view them THERE; but it looks like when the "cloud" is "full", the phone is full too (the FAQ says photos don't affect the 5GB free storage on the cloud, yet it sure seems the "cloud" affects the storage on my phone).
Is there a way to tell iCloud to NOT use my phone as it's hard drive?
I like the concept of having every photo automatically uploaded to the "cloud"...but shouldn't I be able to take more pictures when the "cloud" is "full" with 1000 photos?
If I delete the photos from my photo stream album, it says all the photos will be deleted from everywhere, including the "cloud". And, the only way to save them is to manually save them to the phone (they're already there....as described above) or manually save them to iPhoto (my Mac is an older MacMini that can't use any OS above 10.6.8, so iCloud isn't available to my desktop Mac).
Here are the options as I see them:
    1. Turn off PhotoStream and give up on using the "cloud" or "iCloud" entirely. Make sure to back up those photos I want to keep regularly in iPhoto when I back up my phone. (I had this naive idea iCloud was intended to simplify this....)
    2. Manually go through the 1000 photos that are apparently now back on my phone in the "Photostream album" and decide, viewing them ON the tiny phone screen, which ones should be manually deleted and which to keep, hoping that frees up enough space on the phone to be able to use the camera.
    3. Just delete the entire photostream album, and therefore all the photos on my iPad and in iCloud, and accept that I didn't really want them anyway?
Is there any other option? Do I have to choose between PhotoStream and storage space on my phone, if I want to use the phone's camera after "1000 photos" reside in iCloud? The way it seems to be going, I will ALWAYS be fighting for storage on my phone as long as iCloud is "on"...no sooner than I delete photos from Photostream, every new photo will just be downloaded BACK to the phone anyway.
I'm almost at my wit's end.....is iCloud/PhotoStream ALL OR NOTHING?

Please disregard this question. I'll submit a shorter and more direct question. Thanks.

  • Upload photos from pc to icloud photo library

I'm trying to figure out how to upload all of my photos that are on my PC into icloud photo library.while preserving my folder structure. I've spend about an hour or two a day on this for the past 2 months and I've gotten nowhere. I need to keep my photos in my folders/albums because many albums contain photos that were taken in many different locations at many different times but are related to each other.
So far it seems that Apple wants you taking pictures with only your ipad/iphone and not a DSLR camera. The old way of itunes syncing my photos onto my ipad and iphone was working fine but I love the idea of the icloud photo library. I just can't figure out how to get it to work.
Here's what I've boiled it down to:
    - I'm using a Windows 7 pc
    - I create an album on my ipad (I can't figure out how to create an album on icloud.com)
    - I open the empty album on icloud.com (using either Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Safari)
    - in the empty box in the middle of the screen it says "...upload photos by dragging them here"
    - the photos upload into All Photos, not into the Album
Can anyone help me? It seems so simple but I just can't figure it out. You may be thinking that I could just move the photos from all photos into the Albums but I need to do this for about 15,000 photos.
Another option seems to be to just use a service like Flickr to manage my photos but I like the idea of having all of my photos accessible when I'm not connected to the internet.

I have this problem too. Photo stream works fine on iPhone+iPad, but the photos are never loaded to my PC (Win 8.1). My shared folders works fine on iOS and PC, but not My photo stram.
In the beginning, a couple of years ago, it work, but not now (2014).
All iOS are updated, and PC-iCloud software/panel is Active, and Photo stream is activated.
    What to do??
Reset all streams on PC? I tried, no result.
I can understand that it takes time to reload all Pictures from iCload to my PC, but I wait Days, weeks...

  • Deleting Photos from Device with iCloud Photo Library

How do I delete photos locally from my device when I'm using iCloud photo library? Whether I'm deleting from the Photos tab or Albums > All Photos, I see the same "this photo will be deleted from iCloud photo library on all devices" message. How can I delete the photo from my device, but keep it in the iCloud photo library? Currently, my photos tab and all photos album are exactly the same... whats the difference between these features? Thanks!

iCloud Photo Library is currently only for iOS devices, but it disables syncing with the Mac. It is simply not yet ready.
iCloud Photo Library is still a beta version. (See: iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ) The Mac part has not yet been released, but will be available early next year. We do not know yet, what the Mac part of iCloud Photo Library will be like. The Photos.app for Mac will be able to upload to iCloud Photo Library.  If you simply wait till early next year, it will be the easiest transit. Then you will be able to migrate iPhoto Libraries and Aperture Libraries to Photos and store the photos in iCloud.
Right now, if you enable iCloud Photo Library Beta on your mobile devices, the usual ways to upload photos from your Mac will be disabled. It will no longer deposable to sync photos with iTunes, and you cannot upload using My Photo Stream.
To upload photos from the Mac to iCloud Photo Library, mail the photos, put them in your DropBox, or use the uploader on the beta.cloud page (in the photos beta app):  https://beta.icloud.com
