Sorting a dropdown menu

Hi All
I know this function was lacking in Numbers'08; has it been addressed in Numbers'09?
Specifically I have a dropdown menu with Suburbs and postcodes entered in alphabetical order. When new suburbs are added I lose the alphabetical order as are added at the end of the menu.

Hi All,
I've developed a form using SharePoint Designer 2010. (We cannot use InfoPath due to licensing issues).
I have used SPServices for cascading functionality for my drop down menus. This works great.
One of my drop down menus is set up to pick up its data from another list. This is my data source. The data source list has the correct order for how I want the dropdown menu to pick up data however the dropdown menu does not pick up the data in this
order.
Is there a simple jQuery or something simple that I can implement to allow me to either sort the dropdown menu Alphabetically or pick up the data source in the order that is displayed.

According to your post, my understanding is that you want to sort Drop Down Menu Alphabetically.
You can use JQuery or SPServices to achieve it.

Update form not returning correct data selection in dropdown menu

Using CS3 DW along with SQL 2008 R2. I have a number of dropdown menus on an entry form (using VBScript/ASP) that are feed by SQL queries. All data is accepted in the entry form and writes to the table in the database without any issues. I created an Update form and based on a Rec ID clicked on from a list the Update form is presented with all the data in the correct fields except for one dropdown menu. All the other menus go to the correct selection except for the one. Spent 2 days attempting to resolve this. If I change the dropdown menu to a field the correct data is presented when the form comes up, but doesn't allow the user to make a selection from the menu. When I change it back to a dropdown menu the saved selection is not selected - just lists the entire list of items in the menu. Any help or ideas on this is greatly appreciated.

Once more thank you. I have sorted the issue out.
I observed that I was selecting the wrong field. I selected the field matching the record set of the select instead of the field matching the record set of the table I am working as seen on the image belew
I was selecting this - This is the record set of the table that hold values for the city select list
Instead of this. This is the record set of the table behind the form I am working on
My issue is now re-solved.

Multiple dropdown menu

Hello
I want to just write a simple Labview program that would take an input from user (The input must be limited e.g creating a drop down menu). Then based on this input, it must ask user to enter other inputs. for example.
Input 1. can be either a colour , a month or a fruit.
Input 2. If input 1 is colour, then drop down menu should take Red, Green, Orange and Yellow from user. If Input 1 is month, it should ask for one of twelve months and so on.
In the third step I am going to use both of the inputs.
Take the example from snapshot.
I would like if you could indicate me an easy method to use this, or should I create a text / excel file or some sort of table to implement this.

Thats fine but I want that. If user selects Month from dropdown menu 1, The second dropdown menu should automatically show just the names of months.
If user selects Colours from dropdown menu 1 , the second dropdown menu should only show colour names.

SAP Note 1368055 should resolve the issue.
This Note includes parameter F4_LIST_NO_LINEBRAEKS which may need to be added using transaction SE38 and program SAP_RSADMIN_MAINTAIN. Remember to regenerate your queries to ensure they work with the new parameter in-place.

Mac Pro will not restart from dropdown menu

Hi all,
My Mac Pro will not restart from the dropdown menu or when clicking the 'restart computer' when installing software updates. I have an external firewire hard drive hooked up as part of my backup process. It contains a clone of my startup disk.
I have tried disconnecting the firewire drive, rebooting then attempting to restart from the dropdown menu. Still no joy. I always have to end up shutting down manually by holding the power button in and then restarting with the power button.
Any thoughts?

You might try Safe Mode (It will take more time to startup in Safe Mode because it runs a directory check.)
If your Shutdown functions correctly that way, go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items, and remove them. Boot normally and test. If not go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving ~(yourHome)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.
EDIT: Also, if you can launch Activity Monitor in your Utilities folder and see if you can find the process that is still running.

Recordset order by dropdown menu

Hi all....
I have a results page displaying products based on three different redordsets depending on how the user searches. manufacturer, category or keyword search.
On the results page i also want a dropdown menu with options for displaying the results by price lowest, price highest, manufacturer.
has anyone done this? and how?

Put a divider/separator into a JComboBox dropdown menu

Hello,
I need to put a separator of some sort into the dropdown menu of my JComboBox. Has anyone acheived this successfully? I don't know the best way to go about it, so any advice would be much appreciated.

Ctrl Click for dropdown menu crashes finder...

Every time I control click lately, to get the dropdown menu that has items in it like, new window etc... the finder crashes. Any advice?

First thing to try is to open Disk Utility (in Applications>Utilities) and click on the hard drive on the left, then 'Repair Permissions'. This process can take a few minutes, and may report a few items resolved. It has been known for faulty permissions to cause idiosyncratic system behavior.
If that doesn't work, download a copy of Preferential Treatment from www.versiontracker.com. and run it on both system-wide and user levels. This will flag if you have any problems with property list (.plist) files which can also cause this sort of issue.
If that doesn't help, create a new user account and long on to that. Does the problem then disappear?

How to get all the values from the dropdown menu
I need to be able to extract all values from the dropdown menu; I know how to get all those values as a string, but I need to be able to access each item; (the value in a dropdown menu will change dynamically)
How do I get number of item is selection dropdown?
How do I extract a ?name? for each value, one by one?
How do I change a selection by referring to particular index of the item in a dropdown menu?

The findElement method allows various attributes to be used to search. Take the following two examples for the element below:

I can find the element based on its name or any other attribute, I just need to specify what I am looking for. To find it by name I would do the following:

If I want to search by id I could do the following:

Usually you will use whatever is available. Since the select element has no name or ID on the Empirix home page, I used the onChange attribute. You can use any attribute as long as you specify which one you are using (last argument in these examples)
You can use the FindElement to grab links, text boxes, etc.

im trying to create a dropdown menu buttons that when you rollover to the top central button the button it opens up like a drop down menu would containg two other subsectional buttons. This makes the sub sectional buttons seperate from the main stage making it difficult to simply give them a on click, sym.play("label") function.
the buttons work like this in symbols or sections stage/panel/homebutton inside home button is group dev containg another group dev containg the button which I need to link back to a "label" in the /panel/ symbol or section. Thank you very much.

Put the video with the first language on the timeline followed by the video with the second language. Use chapter markers so you can have each video as a chapter in the menu.
I use Premiere Pro, so I can't give more specific directions. Perhaps somebody like ATR will chime in.
Also, I have another question: can I put videos from different projects in the same DVD with Premiere or must all of the videos that go into the DVD be in the same project?

When I try to bookmark a page the dropdown menu only shows 4 of my many bookmark folders.

I have a heck of a lot of bookmark folders. These show up in the dropdown menu when I click on Bookmarks in the toolbar. However just today when I try to bookmark a web page, I only am given offered four folders in which to file the bookmark. Clicking on "choose" doesn't show any folders at all that I've created. Same thing when I open MF in safe mode with addons not enabled.
If I click on "Bookmarks menu" in the bookmark window then click on the arrow to chose a file, I see an odd assortment of random bookmarks and files.
To complicate matters, perhaps: This morning Firefox went crazy. Details don't matter now. I followed instructions in MF support and saved critical files. Then uninstalled and reinstalled a new copy of MF. Created a new profile and moved critical files into it.
Am I missing a file? Is something corrupted? (How would I find it?) Why would MF not see my folders when asked to file a bookmark?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Does anyone know how to enable/disable a dropdown menu in Forms at runtime?

Is there a way how to disable/enable dropdown menu for menus that have multiple sub levels in Oracle Forms? I am trying to use the set_menu_item_property function but this takes 'menu.item' format for the first argument. I am trying to enable/disable a menu item in the form of 'menu.item.subitem' and was not able to do it using this function. If anyone knows a different function or method, please reply. I have shown an example below.
Setup -> Software -> Front Page
From the above example, I can enable/disable Software using set_menu_item_property function. But, how do I enable/disable the Front Page menu in Oracle forms at runtime?

Yes you are on the right track. You need to pass then complete menu name to set_menu_item_property
Immediate_parent menu.item_name e.g
For example you have menu like this
Id like
A1 A10 > A1010
Home > Input > Form 1
A1 A10 > A1020
Home > Input > Form 2 To disable Form 2 you must pass menu name as
A10.A1020Hope it helps
