Sorting movies on nano

I have movies which are actually tv shows on itunes/nano. They are throughly tagged which allows me to sort them by Episode ID on itunes, but does the nano support any sorting because it appears my nano just sorts them by name? That's not exactly ideal and I'll have to rename all my shows with a prefix like 01, 02, etc.

If you purchased the movie in iTunes on your computer, it may have downloaded the High Definition (HD) version. To sync to your iPod nano, you may need to redownload the Standard Definition (SD) version. You may find the following article helpful:

How can I sort movies by genre on itunes from ipad 2 ?

If i find a movie for buy in itunes ( from pc ) i can select the genre (action , comedy ..) for optimize the search. In mi ipad 2 i cannot do this , i can select genre for music , apps , etc but in movies i only see alphabetical order and older / news movies .

Can I sort movies by price and country of origin. I tried to ask for French films and got a lot of stuff with French in the title or name of the actor. I do not want films from "major American studios". Any advice, besides go to Netflix??

They are sorted by 'director' metadata, which is not my intended outcome. It looks like iTunes is treating movies like music and sorting by artist/director.
Even adding 'sort name' doesn't fix this. Does anyone know a workaround to this?

The UI and search for iTunes is so clunky - given Apple are normally pretty handy UI designers - is this deliberate?
Jumping on to look for new releases means sifting through an awful lot of useless B movies from the past. Why isnt there a category that lets you find recent cinema releases. Or movies by year of release and then a filter by reviews like other e stores?

Actually the equivalents to folders are called play lists.
I would set up smart play lists to sort by date/scene and keep track that way.
Click on New Smart Play List under File and set up a few that way to get the hang of it.

Sorting Movies in iTunes

I've been looking for ways to group movies that belong together. For example the extras DVD that goes with a Criterion release.
I've found answers on here - and elsewhere - that suggest using the TV part of iTunes. The Show and Sort areas under Sorting and Video Tabs. However, whilst these tidy up the directory structure under iTunes media folder they do not appear to be doing anything in iTunes or AppleTV2.
Is it possible to have a view under Movies like you have under TV in iTunes and AppleTV2 or do I need to make them TV shows ? Am I going to have to start looking at another product ?

Sorting .Mov files in Adobe Premiere Elements 10

I have imported all my .MOV files into Adobe PE 10. How do I sort them by date order so I can make the film in chronological order?
It is strange because all my .Mov files are ordered by date in Adobe Premiere 10 Organizer - but then in Adobe PE 10, I can only sort by file length or name...? this seems a bit strange when I am trying to make a chronological family movie. Am I missing something?

While there are some possibilities for sorting on MetaData in PrPro's Project Panel, the handling of Time/Date shot differs so much by the camera used, that most complain that it does not work, as they would like it to, so not really much better, if at all.
To get an idea of the problems encountered, I would do a Search of the PrPro CS 6 Forum, for "date," and read some of those threads.

I recently purchase an iPod Nano and would like to add some movies I had previously purchase on iTunes, how do I convert movies that I have bought before so that I can watch them on the nano?

If these videos were purchased from the iTunes store, they should already be in an iPod compatible format. Just make sure the iPod is set up in iTunes to sync videos by following the steps outlined in this Apple support document.

Sorting movies in iPhoto smart album

I created an album of our summer vacation which includes photos and video clips. I would like to separate out the video clips and stitch them together. Either in iMovie or otherwise. Any thoughts on how to separate out the movies? I tried the New Smart Album > Keyword > is > movie. It sorted my whole library, not just the album (and I did have all photos/clips selected).
And then, how best to stitch them together? iMovie or is there a function in iPhoto?
Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you.

In your summer album flag just the video clips. Use the Events ➙ New Event from Flagged Photos to create a new event of just those flagged video clips (assuming you have no other flagged photos).
Or give the video clips in the summer album a star rating and use a smart album: Keyword is Movie and Rating is XX.

Sort movies FROM pictures

I can't figure this out for the life of me! I hope it can be done. I have over 5,000 pictures and movies in my iPhoto library. Everything is perfect!
But . . . I'd like to sort the movies and separate them from the still pictures. (There's maybe 500 movies).
Why? - I'd then like to export all the still images in one BIG export reducing their size to maybe half the dimensions. I figure I'll save about 10 gig this way - and the quality looks the same even at 2 to 3x enlargement. (Of course the entire 21 gig library is backed up via BackUp 3.1)
I can export all approx 5,000 pictures at one time and reduce the physical dimensions of them all at once - EXCEPT if any movies are mixed in - iPhoto won't let you modify the size.
Sooo . . . I want to separate the movies from the pictures - but nothing seems to let you do that easily!
Does anyone know how to do this - I can't be lookig and manually sorting thru 5,000 images.

You're welcome. I learn a lot by reading the forums, so I do what I can to pass it on.
You do have a choice with how you want to manage iPhoto on your laptop. You could move it entirely to an external drive and run it from the external. It's simple to do, saves lots of gigs on the laptop, but the downside is that you no longer have your iPhoto library on the laptop when you leave home.
An alternative is using an alias-based iPhoto library on the laptop. It still saves lots of space, but enables you to see your iPhoto library thumbnails when you have your laptop away from your external drive. There are some other limitations, too. But it may be worth it if you want to free up disc space on the MacBook. Sorting Movies within Genre

Hi,
I have movies in Itunes that I have sorted by genre, but would like to have each movie listed by name within the genre, but my movies are just randomly listed, for example my Horror genre has halloween and halloween 4 and 5 but they are not listed in order. 4 and 5 are listed together (one after the other) and halloween 1 is further down the list. Does any one know of a way to sort by genre then by name?
