Sorting multiple discs

I just shot a wedding with over 3000 photos. Is there some way to load all the discs into photoshop by time stamp. There were 3 photographers, so to make it easier it would be nice if I could put them all in and have them organized by the time they were taken.

well it's fixed my podcast ordering, so i'm happy with that. cant say anything else has really cause me problems though

  • Sorting multiple disc albums

    When it's come to multiple disc albums, I arrange it on iTunes so that it's all one album, and have the disc numbers apparent, but on my iPod there is no where where it tells me where one disc ends and the other begins. What's the best/most compatible way to organize multidisc albums for iTunes and an iPod?

    I have submitted a bug to http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html. Please feel free to use the template below if you wish to make your opinion heard:
    Dear Sir or Madam,
    Updating to iTunes 9 has introduced a bug whereby the software doesn't recognize and separate multi CD albums.
    Before the update, two disks would be correctly split 1-9, 1-9 but iTunes 9 instead lists the albums: Track 1, Track 1, Track 2, Track 2, Track 3, Track 3 and so on. This is present in all albums with more than one CD.
    Furthermore the white background in grid view is hideous and should be reverted as soon as possible or a setting implemented so that the user can make a choice about the background colour.
    Yours faithfully,
    <Your-Name>

  • Multiple disc issues with iTunes 9

    right after I installed iTunes 9 all of my multiple disc albums are not organized. For instance: it used to order them disc 1: track 1,2,3,4 and now it is track 1,1,1,2,2,2,3,etc. This is buggy!

    I am also annoyed by this sorting problem.
    However, when playing multi-disc albums, iTunes plays the tracks in the correct order, so first the tracks of disc 1, then the second disc.
    So, it seems to me, it's just presentation.

  • I am unable to sort multiple columns in a table created in Pages.

    I had been using Appleworks up until I installed Lion and have now switched to iWork. I created a table within a Pages document and am able to sort a single column (using the Table Inspector and choosing Sort from  Edit Rows and Columns) but the Sort option is grayed out when I attempt to sort multiple columns.
    In another post, someone talked about this being a problem if you have merged fields. I do not believe I have done this (to be honest I don't know the function of merging fields).
    This is very frustrating as I was easily able to sort these tables in Appleworks.

    Sharon Anderson wrote:
    Thanks for your quick response! I have been trying that but then found that Numbers would only let me print in landscape view so I had to paste the table back into Pages. Is there a way to print in portrat view (from Numbers?)
    Not so. In the lower left corner of the window, there's an icon that looks like a piece of paper. If you see this:
    you are in Sheet View, or normal, mode. If you see this:
    You are in Print View mode. Now you see the icons for portrait and landscape modes. Click your choice. Then arrange your content to fit the pages as you wish.

  • ITunes 11 not sorting multi-disc audiobooks by disc number

    I just updated to iTunes 11, and for some reason, my multi-disc audiobooks are not being ordered by disc number in the Books view. Instead, it goes track 1 of disc 1, track 1 of disc 2, etc.
    The tracks have the disc numbers in their metadata, so why aren't they being sorted that way?
    This issue does not occur for music tracks, however. Puzzling, eh?

    Guys, I have the ultimate solution!
    Use the following Applescript:
    Embed Disc Number in Track Number v1.0
    Applies selected tracks' disc number as hundreds digit in track number
    Short link: http://dougscripts.com/461
    date posted: July 14, 2009 - total downloads 926
    you can find it at:

    It is a reversible operation by definition!

  • IMac disc drive "sorta" reading discs

    If anyone has any suggestions for this problem I'd certainly appreciate any help. Recently I've noticed that my G5 iMac's disc drive is only "sorta" reading discs. It says that some discs are "unreadable" and spits them out again, but others appear as blank DVDs. This makes me wonder about whether this is a software, firmware, or hardware problem. I can't seem to find a solution in the forum. Any ideas? I'd like to try the Apple Hardware Test, but I can't startup from a DVD! If this helps brainstorm some ideas, I've also got an Intel MacBook to work with...
    Thanks!
    Tony

    The inability to start up from a DVD is not a good sign since it should be independent of the OS installed on your internal drive. To eliminate any effects that OS might have on the iMac itself, try resetting PRAM (hold down command-option-P-R on restart until you hear a second startup chime).
    Hopefully, this will let you startup from a suitable DVD. Just make sure it is the original iMac installer DVD if you are trying to run AHT, or that DVD or a retail Leopard one if you just want to boot into the normal installer to access its version of Disk Utility or something.
    If none of this works, & the DVD(s) appear to be clean & undamaged, it may be time to consider a trip to a repair service.

  • Organizing Albums with Multiple Discs

    I have a lot of albums that have many discs. There seems to be two options for organizing them on my iPod. I can either 1) Label the individual disks as "Album: [Disc X]" and have many "albums" appear on my iPod, or 2) Label the discs as "Album," and have all of the discs appear under a single album on my iPod. Unfortunately, I have some very large albums (e.g., a collection of music by Beethoven that has 85 cd's). Neither of the above two options are optimal for these large collections. What I would like is if my iPod would allow albums with multiple discs to have a submenu listing those disks (i.e., one would have Music > Albums > Beethoven > Disc X). Is something like this possible? If not, are there any other ways of organizing these albums that I've failed to consider? Thanks!

    There's no way of sub-dividing the album into separate discs while still keeping a single cover. For a box set scenario you might with to consider breaking things down differently. For example I have a 3 disc Tom Lehrer album which comprises 5 original albums and some odd individual releases. Rather than a single album of 70 tracks I've turned this into 6 albums, each with different artwork. For your complete works of Beethoven you could choose a different way of dividing the works into related groups other than by the original disc no. but you'll probably still have to live with multiple covers. Alternatively put it all under one cover but build a selection of playlists which you actually use to get access to the specific items of interest instead of trying to scroll through say 500 tracks.
    See http://samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/grouping.asp for more organisational tips.

  • Installing windows games with multiple discs

    When I am trying to install a windows PC game with multiple discs, the install starts out ok, then it asks to insert disc #2. I'm using a Mac Mini, booted into Windows XP SP3. Since there is no manual disk eject button like on a PC machine, how can I eject the current disc in the Mini disk drive to be able to insert the next installation disc?

    I guess when you boot into windows the disc eject key on the apple keyboard doesn't work. But, I found a solution! While installing the game and the message screen came up to install the next disc, I hit the apple/cmd key on my apple keyboard and it brought up the WinXP Start menu. I then opened up the My Computer window and right-clicked on the CD drive, clicked on eject and the disc popped out! I inserted the next disc and the install continued automatically.
    I love being able to run Windows on my Mac. It makes using Windows sometimes almost bearable.

  • ALV: How to sort multiple columns?

    Hi all,
    Good morning!
    I have a requirement to sort multiple columns in ALV. I did a search and tried with following codes:
    data: lo_config_alv  type ref to cl_salv_wd_config_table.
    lo_config_alv->if_salv_wd_table_settings~set_multi_column_sort( value = abap_true ).
    But I still can not sort for multiple columns.
    Please guide me how to do that.
    Thanks,
    Khanh

    Hello,
    If you want to sort ALV by multiple fields, then you have to create sort rule for each field and set sort position for each field to specify the sequence in which you want to sort multiple columns.
    Here is a sample code:
    * Sort rows by PRICE descending
      DATA: lr_field1 TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_field.
      DATA: lr_rule1 TYPE REF TO CL_SALV_WD_SORT_RULE.
      lr_field1 = lv_value->if_salv_wd_field_settings~get_field( 'PRICE' ).
      lr_field1->if_salv_wd_sort~create_sort_rule( EXPORTING sort_order = if_salv_wd_c_sort=>sort_order_descending
                                                   RECEIVING value = lr_rule1 ).
      lr_rule1->set_sort_position(  2 ). "set the sort position to 2
    * Sort rows by seatsmax descending
      DATA: lr_field2 TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_field.
      DATA: lr_rule2 TYPE REF TO CL_SALV_WD_SORT_RULE.
      lr_field2 = lv_value->if_salv_wd_field_settings~get_field( 'SEATSMAX' ).
      lr_field2->if_salv_wd_sort~create_sort_rule( EXPORTING sort_order = if_salv_wd_c_sort=>sort_order_descending
                                                              RECEIVING value = lr_rule2 ).
      lr_rule2->set_sort_position( 1 ). "set the sort position to 1
    * Sort rows by seatsocc descending
      DATA: lr_field TYPE REF TO cl_salv_wd_field.
      DATA: lr_rule3 TYPE REF TO CL_SALV_WD_SORT_RULE.
      lr_field = lv_value->if_salv_wd_field_settings~get_field( 'SEATSOCC' ).
      lr_field->if_salv_wd_sort~create_sort_rule( EXPORTING sort_order = if_salv_wd_c_sort=>sort_order_descending
      RECEIVING value = lr_rule3 ).
      lr_rule3->set_sort_position( 3 ). "set the sort position to 3
    In the above code, the sequence of sorting would be seatsmax price seatsocc
    If you dont specify the sort position, then the sequence of sorting would be the order in which the sort rules are created.
    In the above example, if we didnt set sort positions for the fields, then order would be price seatsmax seatsocc.

  • Burning Multiple Discs

    Anyone have experience burning multiple discs out of Waveburner....on the 2 drives of a Mac Pro for example, or any other configuration?

    Just to clarify, I mean multiple discs at the same time.

  • How can I sort multiple tables on a single page as if they were one continuous table?

    I have a single narrow column of numbers that cover multiple pages. I would like to do either of the following: break that long single column into multiple colums that fit on one page and are still able to be sorted in that arrangement OR sort the long column as it is (spread out over multiple pages) and then break that long sorted column down into multiple segments that can be placed onto a single page.
    I have been sorting the long single column, then copy and pasting sections from the column onto a new page so that I can print them on a single page.
    I am hoping there is a more elegant method to do this.

    Hi Walt,
    Sorting is one of the things that changed between Numbers '09 and Numbers 3. If you are on Mountain Lion I want to assume you are using '09. Is that true?
    This will work in '09 and 3. Table one is a single column with entries 1-89.
    A2 ==INDEX(Table 1 :: $A,ROW())
    B2 =INDEX(Table 1 :: $A,ROW()+35)
    C2 =INDEX(Table 1 :: $A,ROW()+70)
    The formulas are filled down.
    You can adjust the formulas in B and C to reflect how many rows fit on your page.

  • Sort multiple files as TV shows?!?

    I've got a lot of TV shows my friend gave me (for example South Park and Happy Tree Friends). But there's one thing that really bugs me out, that is that whenever I import a video file into iTunes it gets sorted as a Movie so I have to sort every single file as a TV show, very boring to do, just because there's no way of selecting multiple files and ⌘I them and sort TV shows. Why in the world are there so little options in +Multiple Item Info?+
    +*Please Help Me!*+

    Hey, Meg, how about legally recorded shows transferred from a Tivo? Or VHS? I have many of those, plus all the DVDs I've backed up into iTunes, so I can watch them through my AppleTV and have the DVDs all in a box in my basement.
    The UI for dealing with TV Shows is terrible, a complete afterthought. The tag fields are very much structured around songs (Why do movies have an Album field? And not a Director field?), and I can't sync specific episodes of a TV Show to my iPhone. Once upon a time, I could make a playlist with TV episodes, and sync that playlist, but that ability appears to be gone: I no longer see that playlist in any of my tabs where I pick the info to sync.
    If I create a playlist with one song and one tv show, and set that to sync, it syncs the song only. Yet if I just give in, and label all my TV shows movies, I can sync anything I want. It's terrible.

  • Problem with iTunes not sorting album/disc sets right, can't edit album info?

    Hi there,
    I have recently been having an issue with my iTunes software. Here is what is going wrong: I right click on an album in my iTunes library, then select "Get Info." The "Get Info" window pops up, and I seem to be ready to edit my album information. Specifically, I am trying to edit the "disc number" (Disc Number 1 of 33, for instance). I can click on the little number boxes, and I can seemingly edit the numbers inside (i.e., change the 1 to 01). But when I press OK to save the changes, the disc number immediately reverts back to its original variable.
    The whole reason I am trying to solve the problem above is a direct result of a previous problem. I recently bought a CD disc set (Haydn's Complete Symphonies) which contains 33 discs. When uploading them to my iTunes, everything was going fine until I reached disc 10 (i.e., the discs were all in the right order in my iTunes library, 1-9). When I hit disc 10, I expected it to show up right after 9 but it instead arrived right in front of 1. I now realize that this must be due to some shortcoming in the iTunes code (it thinks 10 is the next number in the sequence after 1, i.e., 1, 10, 11, 12, or something). I tried another disc (11), and it sure enough it appeared right after 10 (right behind disc 2).
    I thought I could solve the sorting issue by putting a 0 in front of the disc numbers (01, 02, 03, etc) in order to get iTunes to recognize the correct sorting sequence. This, however, only created another problem, which is first problem I outlined above: I can't edit the disc information in order to make the vital change.
    Could this be due to permissions settings? Is it just iTunes being glitchy? Am I missing something really obvious?
    I am running Windows 7, 64 bit and have iTunes version 11.0.5.5 installed.
    Any help would be much appreciated!

    I'm having this problem too. It does not seem to be a permissions issue. I have found so far that restarting iTunes will allow me to edit a song I have previously been unable to edit.
    This is happening with iTunes 9.0.1 (9) I can't say for sure that it wasn't happening under 9.0 - but I didn't notice it then.
    I find that songs are uneditable after they have been downloaded to iTunes. Not all songs, just some, on an unpredictable basis. I don't know if there are other older songs with the same problem, or whether it's just new downloads that are being affected.
    I've also noticed that it's impossible to delete one of these songs from a playlist.
    So - in summary : Download an album ... 2 or 3 songs on the album will be impossible to edit (song info) and impossible to delete from a playlist ... restarting iTunes allows them to be edited ...
    It's a really odd one.

  • Grouping and sorting multiple cells

    Is there a way to group multiple contiguous cells so that they act as one large "super" cell, then have Numbers sort the groups according to a value in one of the individual cells in the group?
    I have created a document that has several columns and rows that are added together to arrive at a value that is put into a cell in the bottom right corner of the group. I need to sort these groups according to the value in that last cell in each group.
    I hope that makes sense.

    Seth,
    Consider putting the group value in each row so that when you sort, rows with the same group value will stay together. The column with this value can be hidden and you can repeat it in another column on the last row of each group. This will probably require another auxiliary column to keep the rows in the proper order within a group, and a two-level sort.
