Sorting of a column (adf table component) doesn't work in frame

Hi,
I just developed a little application with just one query. The results are shown in an adf table component with the possibility of column sorting.
The application works just fine if i open it with its actual URL, but when I put it in a classic html frameset I'm not able to sort columns anymore.
The frameset is quite simple. Something like this
<frameset rows="90%,10%">
<frame src="header.htm"/>
<frame src=application URL />
</frameset>
I tried to change the targetFrame attribute of the form component but nothing.
Any idea?
By the way, I Work with JDeveloper 10.1.3.2.0.4066 and its adf faces components

Hi,
I recall an issue in 10.1.3.2 with inner frames that had the wrong JavaScript reference to the DOM. So I assume this to be the same in your case. So you can give it a try with JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 and see if this fixes the problem

  • Problem with JDev 10g ADF table component and rangeChangeListener

    Hi,
    I'm populating an ADF table component from a backing bean and would like the range of rows be changed using custom method on the backing bean.
    I have declared table on page as shown below and the table is populated correctly. However the onRangeChanged method in the backing bean never fires when
    user hits previous or next. Any ideas of what I missed ?.
    Thanks,

  • Intro ADF Faces Tutorial Issue:  ADF Table Component and ADF Binding

    Hello, friends! I've hit a snag with ADF Faces Tutorial: ADF Table Component and ADF Binding: Step 7

    When I execute the Run command on the main.jspx page, the page completes its load with the "fetching" message hanging over the table component. I get two sets of messages in my OC4J log that I cannot easily decipher, being a JDev/OC4J newbie.
    First, the OC4J startup messages:

    Dear All,
    I am fairly new to ADF development too. While following the Tutorial, I selected the "simple" page template. and check the "Create as XML Document (*.jspx). then click "OK", I got a similar SAXParseException exception, however the main.jspx seemed showed up correctly in the "Design" window. Any idea? Thanks a lot.

  • MPEG-2 component doesn't work anymore

    Hi,
    I now recognized, that the MPEG-2 component doesn't work anymore. I don't know since which moment, but maybe since the last QuickTime update. I reinstalled it, but it didn't solve the problem.

    I can open a m2v fil but there is no content and it displays like a sound file.
    If there is no display screen above the controller (i.e., looks like an audio file), check the Inspector (or Properties) window to see what the QT player thinks is contained in the file. Also, what is the source of the file? Files split by windows users and posted on the internet frequently open in this manner without a display screen. Basically, if the QT MPEG-2 Playback component is not working, the file will not open at all. Also, M2V files are normally paired with a separate AIFF file. If you have QT Pro, open the Properties window and check the "Resource" pointer for your M2V track.
    I can't find where it is installed either.
    Did you check the root "Library > QuickTime" folder on your start-up drive? Also, did you install the correct codec? Two versions should be contained in the image file. You want the one that says "For QuickTime 6.4 and later & Intel Macs."

  • Show return value of a method-call within a column of ADF table component

    Hi,
    I'm currently developing a ADF "Master Form - Detail Table" component, which displays trips of a car in master form, and all related trip-point information in detail table. This detail table contains the following fields within a row :
    - idTripPoint
    - receivedAt
    - speed
    - coordinates
    Everything is displayed well when deploying my app. What I now want to implement is one more column into my detail table, which displays the result of a method-call which gets the coordinates of the corresponding tripPoint and executes a query to find the nearest neighbour to this point. This method afterwards returns a string which contains a textual description for the coordinates (e.g. 10 km south of Hilton Plaza). This method is defined within my SessionBean and also available within the Data Control Palette.
    What I first did, was just to drag the result (String) of my getTripPointDescription(JGeometry) method to a newly created column within my details table, released it there and set the corresponding NDValue for my method. I used the id of my details table table definition in PageDef for that (${bindings.TripstripPointsList.currentRow.dataProvider.coordinates}). I don't know if this is correct.
    When deploying my app, nothing happened, because my method has never been called. So I decided to implement an invokeAction within my PageDef which calls the generated methodAction within PageDef.
    It looks like that now:
    <executables>
    <invokeAction id="callDescription" Binds="getTripPointDescription"
    Refresh="prepareModel"/>
    </executables>
    <bindings>
    <methodAction id="getTripPointDescription"
    InstanceName="TripsEJBFacadeLocal.dataProvider"
    DataControl="TripsEJBFacadeLocal"
    MethodName="getTripPointDescription"
    RequiresUpdateModel="true" Action="999"
    IsViewObjectMethod="false"
    ReturnName="TripsEJBFacadeLocal.methodResults.TripsEJBFacadeLocal_dataProvider_getTripPointDescription_result">
    <NamedData NDName="tripPoint"
    NDValue="${bindings.TripstripPointsList.currentRow.dataProvider.coordinates}"
    NDType="oracle.spatial.geometry.JGeometry"/>
    </methodAction>
    </bindings>
    Now my method is called once for the coordinates of the first row of my detail table and the generated result is entered within each row.
    So how is it possible to get this standard-behaviour (within other application-frameworks) work in ADF? I just want to display a textual description of a coordinate instead of x/y coordinates within my table. And the corresponding method to get this textual description based on the x/y coordinate should be called for each row displayed in my table.
    I currently walked through all ADF-tutorials and blogs I found on the Internet, but every table example I found only displays data of the associated Entity-Bean. And method Action and accessorIterator are only used with command objects.
    Thank you,
    Thomas

    Sorry, I forgot to say which technologies I use:
    - Toplink Essentials JPA for Model layer (EJB 3.0)
    - ADF in View Layer
    I still hope someone can help me finding an answer.
    Bets Regards,
    Thomas

  • Link between 2 SelectOnceChoice component doesn't work.

    Hello all,
    I am using ADF BC, with Jdev version 10.1.3.3.
    Right now I have the requirement to put 2 SelectOneChoice and 1 table component on a new page.
    User select the value in the 1st list box and the value in 2nd list box should change according to the 1st one dynamiclly. After user select the value for the 2nd SelectOneChoice, the table records in the readonly table should also change dyamiclly.
    I have find way to link a SelectOnceChoice to a readonly table, that is create a nested query with view-links and drag the master item and nested view to the page. And set the auto-submit and PartialTriggers properies for them.
    Right now my question is how to make the dynamic change between the 2 SelectOneChoice? I have search the forum for many threads and it seems the #62 example in Steve Muench's blog should be the similiar solution. The link is http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html#62
    I have test the example, it works well. And I also make a new page with the table in hr schema, and make link successful, although a little different from the example:
    Create Region EO and RegionView VO(use it to creat regionlist LOV) based on Region table, create Country EO, CountryView VO(use it as base query for the 2 SelectOnceChoice component) and CountriesForRegion VO(use it to creat Country LOV, contains a parameter) based on country table. Then drag region_id and country_id from Data Control Palette to the page and link them to regionlist LOV and Country LOV. Set the 1st SelectOneChoice componnet's ID and autosubmit property and set 2nd SelectOneChoice componnet's PartialTriggers property. Then set the action and revoke action in the page def: use base view's region id as parameter, to create a ExecuteWith Parameters action and create invoke action with renderModel and condition is #{empty requestScope.CountryChanged}
    So far it works well and I don't need to add code in the example coz the link has been created.
    But when I turn to my table, all the thing changed. I have 2 tables contain process infomation and emp name information.
    the process table: processID(PK) and Process name
    the emp name list table : processID, UserID(PK) and Name
    I create the page as I did in above example, use ProcessID as parameter. But nothing happen when I change the value of 1st SelectOnceChoice.
    the where clause in the NameListForProc is: where namelist.PROCESS_ID = :TheProcessID
    and it seems not work. when I change to nvl(:TheProcessID,26) nothing happen.
    when I change to hardcode decode(:TheProcessID,0,0,26) it can retrive valule in the 2nd SelectOnceChoice. I don't know what happen in this place.
    I had suspect the datetype of processID and change number(20,0) to number as in hr tables. nothing happen.
    I also change the parameter to use process name, still no value. the returned :TheProcessID is not null, but I don't why it can't retrieve value as I did in the hr example.
    So I wonder what will impact this process? some setting of VO or some setting in action and revokeaction or some properties or I misssing something in the steps?
    can any one give me some hint? many thanks.
    Scott

    The SelectOneChoice section is:
    <af:selectOneChoice value="#{bindings.ProcessId1.inputValue}"
    label="#{bindings.ProcessId1.label}"
    autoSubmit="true" id="ProcList"
    showRequired="true">
    <f:selectItems value="#{bindings.ProcessId1.items}"/>
    </af:selectOneChoice>
    and the binding list:
    <list StaticList="false" ListOperMode="0" IterBinding="NameViewIterator"
    ListIter="ProcessListIterator" id="ProcessId1" NullValueFlag="1"
    NullValueId="ProcessId1_null">
    <AttrNames>
    <Item Value="ProcessId"/>
    </AttrNames>
    <ListAttrNames>
    <Item Value="ProcessId"/>
    </ListAttrNames>
    <ListDisplayAttrNames>
    <Item Value="ProcessName"/>
    </ListDisplayAttrNames>
    </list>
    Do I need to change the format of SelectOneChoice to add "for each"?

  • Table SelectionListener doesn't work

    Hi,
    the main property of table:
    RowSelection--Single
    Value--binding a CollectionModel Variable of it's backingBean
    SelectionListener--a method in it's backingBean, an print the table's selectedRowKeys in this method.
    The display of table is right.
    The result of print is [null] when I select a row for the first time.
    The method doesn't work when I select a row later.
    Thanks

    why don't you post some code and also what version are you using?

  • Add Link option in ADF RichTextEditor component does not work

    Hi all,
    If I try to add a link in an ADF RichTextEditor component, it tries to open the link the domain of my application rather than trying to use the whole URL.
    For example, you can go to the RichTextEditor at [http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/components/richTextEditor.jspx] .
    Then, highlight some text, for example "world" and then click Add Link button and add "www.oracle.com". The link appears in the RichTextEditor. However, if you try to open the link, the link tries to open inside the domain of the application - in the above case, the URL is http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/afr/www.oracle.com
    Any suggestions on how to fix this. Please help as this is a stopper for the release.
    Thank you and regards.

    Okay, I figured out the answer. You need to set the complete URL with the protocol.

  • Nested Composite Component Doesn't work for table column

    I have reported this issue as defect 1541 but I'm hoping someone my have a suggestion on a work around for this. Here is the issue
    I am attempting to use composites to represent a table column. I have tried this with both IceFaces and the standard implementation. I have a custom component that is of type UIColumn that is being inserted into another composite that houses a table. The table renders and the column renders. However, the outputText that should represent the row data does not render. Interestingly this will render using composites when I don't have the column rendering as a composite (IE the table is contained in the composite and the row level output is contained in the top level page.). That is not my requirement though. This seems to be a tough cookie to crack. I have the source now and am starting to acquaint myself with it in an attempt to figure out what is going on. Any brilliant ideas out there?
    Code is below.

    Hi,
    I recall an issue in 10.1.3.2 with inner frames that had the wrong JavaScript reference to the DOM. So I assume this to be the same in your case. So you can give it a try with JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 and see if this fixes the problem

  • Sort(java.util.LinkedList java.lang.Object ) doesn't work

    Why doesn't this work?
    LinkedList<Object> sysPropsKeys = new LinkedList<Object>(System.getProperties().keySet());
    Collections.sort(sysPropsKeys);
    cannot fnd symbol
    symbol : method sort(java.util.LinkedList<java.lang.Object>)
    location: class java.util.Collections

    I will admit to not having Java1.5 installed on my machine. Haven't yet had the chance to play with generics, but the above DOES work in 1.4, and SHOULD work in 1.5
    Maybe I'm naive but, System.getProperties() returns a Properties object right?
    According to the API: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/java/util/Properties.html: Each key and its corresponding value in the property list is a string.
    All the keys SHOULD be strings.
    AFAIK string are comparable, and shouldn't throw class cast exceptions
    Thus the keys returned from getProperties SHOULD be comparable, and compatible for comparision.
    Ok, I can see your point in that some hackers abuse the Properties class by putting non string keys/values into the Properties Map. In that case the code would become more like your above. I'd probably still go with a TreeMap though, rather than a sorted list of keys. Most time you want the keys, you want the values as well. So if the intention is to print out a sorted list of system properties, and their values, keeping it in a map is best.
    Just my 2 cents,

  • XML Component doesn't work (size limitation)

    Hello,
    I'm having problems with "large" XML documents in the XML Component. I have a XML document with 6 records, that fails with the following error:
    ORA-24345: A Truncation or null fetch error occurred
    If I cut the XML document down to 5 records it displays the output just fine. This definetly looks like a bug. I've cut and pasted this XML document into the "XML Code" section, and had it loaded via a URL in the "XML URL". Still I have the same problem.
    I looked at the code, and I noticed that the size for the variables in which to get the XML/XSL+DTD code retrieved into, is hard coded at 32767. Although this doesn't seem to be the source of my problem, 32767 is just too small for XML documents. Is there a patch for this problem, or do I just have to wait to the next release?

    I have the latest version that comes with 1.0.2.1 which is 3.0.8.
    The size of the file that I'm using is approximately 17K.
    I know that there are other ways of displaying XML with XSL, but unfortunatly, Netscape is what we currently use, so XML and XSL don't display easily.
    I'd like to know if this will be fixed in the next release or whether a patch will eventually be available. I was also wondering if there is date or approximation of when it will be fixed. I appreciate you taking the time to answer me.

  • Changes to lastmodified column in aboutToUpdate event doesn't work

    We use the following code in the aboutToUpdate event to set the lastmodified date on changed object:
    DatabaseRow row = event.getRow();
    lastModified = now();
    Descriptor descriptor = event.getSession().getDescriptor(this);
    DatabaseMapping mapping = descriptor.getMappingForAttributeName("lastModified");
    if (mapping != null) {
    String modField = ((DirectToFieldMapping) mapping).getFieldName();
    DatabaseTable table = descriptor.getDefaultTable();
    String qualifier = table.getQualifiedName();
    if (qualifier.length() > 0) {
    modField = qualifier + "." + modField;
    row.put(modField, lastModified);
    This code is in the aboutToUpdate event on the superclass in the hierarchy.
    However, on one of the machines, this code doesn't update the lastmodified for one of the types of objects. Lastmodified is updated on objects of other types on that machine. The same code works fine on objects of all types on other machines.
    I enabled the logSQL mechanism of TOPLink and found that update SQL was not modifying the lastModified field. However, when I look at the code through debugger, I do see the lastmodified in the DatabaseRow of the event.
    After having verified the versions of TOPLink and jdbc driver, I'm trying to debug the issue by previewing the sql that is generated by TOPLink. These are the 2 things I have tried so far and both of them return null SQL String:
    1.
    WriteObjectQuery dbQuery = new WriteObjectQuery();
    dbQuery.setObject(this);
    try {
    dbQuery.prepareCall(event.getSession(), row);
    String query = dbQuery.getSQLString();
    } catch (QueryException qe) {
    qe.printStackTrace();
    2.
    DatabaseQuery d = event.getQuery();
    d.prepareCall(event.getSession(), d.getTranslationRow());
    String query2 = d.getSQLString();

    Very strange. Is there anything special about the machine or the class that it does not work for? Did you verify the event is being raised for that class on that machine?
    The only thing that I can think of that would cause this is if the class were using custom SQL or a custom query for its update.
    The reason that you do not see the SQL when creating a WriteObjectQuery is that it does not generate it's SQL until after the prepare as it must first determine if an insert or update is required. It also will not work with an UpdateObjectQuery, because the update SQL is dynamic (depends on what was changed) so the SQL cannot be prepared in the query.
    I believe the following will return the SQL that TopLink would generate for an update, provided you use the row from the aboutToUpdateEvent.
    UpdateObjectQuery dbQuery = new UpdateObjectQuery();
    dbQuery.setObject(event.getObject());
    dbQuery.setModifyRow(event.getRow());
    dbQuery.prepareCall(event.getSession(), event.getQuery().getTransactionRow());
    String query = dbQuery.getSQLString();

    We don't automatically migrate the adf-faces-api.jar since in a 10.1.3.x ADF Faces application this JAR is not part of your project's WEB-INF/lib directory.
    The issue must be specific to migrating this Apache Trinidad example.

  • Command Link in the af:table Component can not Work in the Request Scope

    Actually, the problem is that when we click on the command link, the action method #{overview.goToLinkAction} is not triggered.
    Here is the codes of action method "goToLinkAction" on the backing bean:
    public String goToLinkAction() {
    String linkString = (String) AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance()
    .getProcessScope().get("linkString");
    System.out.println("Link String is: " + linkString);
    return "";
    The data object list "listOfTransefer" for af:table is composed first time when the page is initialized.
    public void onPageLoad() {
    this.listOfTransfers = composeListOfTransfers();
    But when the commandlink or commandbutton is clicked to pose the form, this onPageLoad method is ignored by using PagePhaseListener:
    public void beforePhase(PagePhaseEvent event) {
    FacesPageLifecycleContext ctx =
    (FacesPageLifecycleContext)event.getLifecycleContext();
    if (event.getPhaseId() == Lifecycle.PREPARE_MODEL_ID && needReload()) {
    bc = ctx.getBindingContainer();
    onPageLoad();
    bc = null;
    public final boolean needReload() {
    if (!isPostback())
    return Boolean.TRUE;
    else
    return alwaysReload();
    protected boolean isPostback() {
    return Boolean.TRUE.equals(resolveExpression("#{adfFacesContext.postback}"));
    That means the method "onPageLoad()" may not be invoked when the commandlink is clicked.
    Is there any way to resolve this problem without changing the scope of the backing bean to "session"?
    Your response will be very helpful for us.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    if you implicitly say that this works if the managed bean is in session scope then the problems seems to me that one of your evaluation criterias is reset in the request scope, which I think most likely is the needReload() method. Did you add debug statements to the methods to see where exactly it gets stuck?
