Sorting Order Not Held

For some reason, when I choose to Sort Descending in a Library Folder of a Smart Album, iPhoto will re-order in the current session, but not "remember" the change when I quit iPhoto and re-open? Is that the way it works or should it remember?

Sort Order Not working in LR 3

I cannot get sort order to function correctly in Library Mode. When I make it "User Order" it still put them in some seemingly random order and won't let me drag and drop images into a new order. I drag them to a location and it places them in a completely different random location.
Is this a bug, is this normal, what am I missing? Seems like incredibly basic functionality.
FYI, this particular set is all virtual copies not original images. it is a set of "treated" virtual copies and has 526 images in it.
Driving me crazy and need solution. Help!

Yeah, it is a collection within a collection set. I just upgraded from 3.0 to 3.3 and it seems to have fixed it. Was weird that a bug like that could make it to version 3.2 before being fixed but as long as it's fixed now.
Wouldn't happen in collections with much less images, was only happening in the one with 500+ and they were all virtual copies. Not sure if that had anything to do with it but figured I'd add the info here in case anyone else has problems.

Specified Sort Order not working correctly in InfoView

We are running Crystal 2008 version 12.2.0.290 with Infoview 12.1.0 and are having a problem with specified sort orders working correctly. In Crystal we are using the 'Chart Expert' to set the specified order of the percent bar chart. It works just fine in Crystal 2008 and shows the stacked bar in the order we would expect. We then save the report to InfoView and run the report on a schedule and it comes back in a completely different order. Not the order we specified in designing the report. Any ideas on what is going on?

We are experiencing a similar issue with the sort order in Infoview. We are using Crystal XI.5.8.26 and Infoview.
The specified sort order works correctly in Crystal but in Infoview it comes back with a different order. Are there any suggestions on resolving this disparity?

Sort order notes iOS 6.0

Since it is finally possible to sort my Notes with MacOS 10.8.2 I am desperately seeking for the same possibility on my iPhone and iPad (iOS 6.0). It does neither use the sort-order (alphabetically!!!) from my desktop Mac nor am I able to change the sort-order on my iPhone. This is really a pain! Any solution out there???
Please Apple, if you dont want to allow the users to make their own choice of sort order, at least let them use and transfer the sort order they have on their Mac!!!
By the way: same problem with photos! With iOS 6.0 the devices do NOT use (anymore) the sort order of my iPhoto-folders. WHY? Help!

You must set the Cellular Data according (Settings>>General>>Cellular>>Cellular Data). Contact your carrier for further information.
Turn on Cellular Data, Roaming and 3G as well, even your carrier doesn't have 3G available.
Did you turn on Restrictions before?

Playlist sort order not carried to iTouch

After upgrade to IOS 5, playlist (podcasts) sort order in iTunes on MBP is not maintained when syncing w/ iTouch. No options on iTouch to sort.
Thoughts or bug?
Related...one podcast would not purge from iTouch via sync, so had to restore iTouch. Did not fix sort order transfer problem.

I am also having the same problem. Running the newest iTunes and iPhone software my smart playlists are not working correctly. My "Recently Added" is correct in iTunes, and if I look at the playlist on my iPhone info in iTunes it is correct there, but the actual playlist on my iPhone is populated entirely with audiobook files. I have tried deleting and recreating the playlist which gives the same results. I have also specified that items within the playlist should be music files only and still get the same results.
I have a playlist that's Top 50 Most Played that's also not behaving properly (ie correct in iTunes but not on my iPhone).
Any suggestions?

Music sort order not the same as iTunes after syncing

iTunes 10.5.2.1 and iPhone 4S 5.0.1
Firstly, this is NOT in relation to smart playists, or the smart playlist bug already identified. I'm having the issue with the fundamental level playlists (ie non-created: Artist etc) within iPhone.
Can sort in iTunes however I want. However when synced to iPhone some (not all - seemingly random) artists are out of order compared to iTunes, and some even appear in 2 places. An example would be Alice Cooper where I have changed "Sort Artist" to Cooper Alice and thus appears in "C" in iTunes. However appears in "A" in iPhone. But in other cases Alanis Morissette, where I have also changed "Sort Artist" to Morissette Alanis & appears correctly in "M" in iTunes, appears under both "A" and "M" in iPhone - ie this artist & all songs by this artist appear twice: under both "A" and "M".
So the problem does not manifest the same way every time. Near I can guess it seems to occur on songs which I imported with additional information under "Album Artist" - my iTunes is all sorted by "Album by Artist/Year" & this seems to override the information in "Artist" & sort by this first. So for instance you would have Artist=Alice Cooper, Album Artist=Alice Cooper, and Sort Artist=Cooper Alice. Even though you have specified that you want to sort by "Cooper Alice", the sorting is based on Album Artist "Alice Cooper" first and it appears in "A". Deleting the Album Artist info causes iTunes to correctly re-sort into "C". However iPhone still retains under "A" (or both "A" and "C") after syncing.
So perhaps this is a sync glitch rather than a sort glitch with iPhone?

Why is the Outlook Favorites sort order not saved?

I have added the inbox for my main email account as well as inboxes for hotmail and gmail to favorites as well as some folders and search folders. I put the inboxes at the top and exit Outlook. When starting again they are at the bottom instead. Any solution?

For some reason it works as expected now. Maybe /resetnavpane did the trick anyway even though it at first
after the reset did not work. Not sure but for now the inboxes shows up at the top as I want to. If this changes again I'll post an update.
As Deva's said, this is depend on Outlook.xml. If Outlook load the XML failure, we would not receive the correct view. Creating a new Outlook profile would refresh all of files in a new profile, this is a way for troubleshooting and we don't
need to import all of PSTs.

What's the sort order for podcasts on the shuffle?

Hi all... Can someone tell me how the iPod Shuffle orders podcasts? I've seen MANY posts saying there's no way to manually sort podcasts on the shuffle (which is crazy IMO), but at least if I know how it's ordering the podcasts that'll help me identify which one is next.
I added 15 podcasts to the shuffle, and sorting by every category I can find none that matches the order the shuffle places the podcasts in.
So first question -- what order are the podcasts stored in?
And second question -- Why the heck did Apple do this? Why can't podcasts just be treated like standard MP3 songs?
And finally if there's no answer to either of these, is there anyway to get ipodderx to sync to the ipod shuffle? I love itunes, but if it's going to hender my hardware I'll switch to something else.

I'm wondering if something's wrong with my podcast, because that's not what happens on mine. For example I have my podcasts in this order:
NPR Technology
Haunted New Jersey
Autumn in New England
Hometown Tales Podcast
And even after selecting File then Update iPod and even right-clicking on ipod and selecting Copy to Play Order the order of the podcasts are :
Haunted New Jersey
Hometown Tales Podcast
NPR Technology
Hometown Tale Podcast
Nothing I've done sorts the podcasts as they should be sort. Also i set it to not show the ipod unless it's connected, and when I sort the podcasts as I want, Update ipod, and plug ipod, plugging it back in shows the wacky sort order they're stored on the ipod. I can rearrange again, update again, eject and plug back in, and the crazy sort order (not mine) is back.
Is there something I'm missing????

Document library items are not displaying in sorted order in sharepoint 2013

Hi,
I have a document library , I am storing document sets on it.
28326 items are there in the library.
I have configured sort on Name columns. Initially items are displaying in sorted order like (A,B,C,D,E...)
Now Items are not displaying in a sorted order it is displaying like (A, B,C,D,E,A,C...) like this.
Please help me on this sorting issue.

Are the documents displaying in your image inside the document sets? If so then your sets (folders) are displaying in alphabetical order and the documents inside the sets are displaying in alphabetical order. This is what i would expect.

Sort order of text is not as expected

I need to sort a characteristic by its medium text in BEX (3.5.). However, the sort order is not as expected: uppercase letters are sorted first when selecting ascending order:
AAA
AXZ
Abc
BBB
Baa
Bbb
But this only applies when I use language=EN. For other languages defined in our system (fx. DE), the sort order is ignoring the cases:
AAA
Abc
AXZ
Baa
BBB
Bbb
The user wants that texts is sorted like this.
I have read note 952625 on sort collation sequences. And now I wonder if
a) The standard sort collation sequence for English is different from fx. German og Danish.
b) We have a different setting somewhere (locale setup) that generates these differences.
Our BW system is technical 7.0, but most of our cubes are still 3.5 and also our BEX is still running 3.5.
OS = AIX, Unicode systems=no. Database = DB6.

Oracle 10G gives in sorted order without order by ,in 11g it is not.

we are facing a strange problem.
we have M Views on which we perform select operation ,we put joins of M Views and get the results by select operation , the results was in sorted order (asc) and we were not using any order by clause in the select query , this was in oracle 10G.
The compelte schema where these M views are and also the underneath tables are now migrated to oracle 11g using import/export option.
Now the queries which was giving the result set in sorted order (asc), are not given the result set in sorted order anymore. it is in different order but I think at always return the same order not asc or desc but an specific random order .
we can not change the query as of now as there are 1000+ and each query would require a order by statement .
Do we have any parameters which can be change , so that we can force oracle to use a different plan so that it gives result in order ?
the select queries are very simple ones not complicated no extra function or group by is used in most of the queries.
Please suggest possible solutions . Thanks much.

Go to http://support.oracle.com, log in to My Oracle Support, and search for 345048.1 If you don't have a My Oracle Support account, you'll need to contact whoever manages your company's Oracle support and ask them to create an account for you.
Basically, no version of Oracle has ever guaranteed the order of results if you don't specify an ORDER BY clause. In 10g, the only algorithm that was available to implement a GROUP BY happened to sort the results as a side effect. 11g introduced a new algorithm for grouping results that is more efficient and does not have the side effect of ordering the results. Most likely, your query plans have changed to use the more efficient grouping algorithm.
If you want the results to be sorted, you should add an appropriate ORDER BY clause. If you go through the MOS document, there will also be suggestions for ways that you can disable the new grouping algorithm though I would not recommend that.

Sort Order Column not Working

I have set a sort order column on one of A VARCHAR field, but the functionality is not working. The sorting is enabled in the table view and when I sort by the said column it still sorts based on the VARCHAR values of the column instead of the other INT column I want to sort by. The logical SQL and physical query never even includes the column to sort. Are there any exceptions for the 'Sort Order Column' setting? Is there a config setting or data connections setting that I need to check to make this work?

Like Ex: varchar month column it sould display based on month id
month : Fev-2011,Dec-2011,jan-2011 and month id 1 to 12
set your month id as sort order column of month name.
double click month name ->In general tab set the sort order column as month id

Use a regular slideshow created by "File > New Slideshow". These will play manually sorted. The instant slideshows cannot be played in a manual sort order.

How to change sort order in Notes?

I just installed the new Mac OS X Mountain Lion and found the self-contained Desktop-App for Notes.
But how do I sort my notes alphabetically???
Using Mac OS X Lion I could change sort order within the mail-application. Btw I would love to sort my notes on my iPad and iPhone as well! It is possible via browser on the iCloud-Website - but the sort order is not transfered to iOS or the new Desktop-App!!

How to change sort order for Notes in iOS?

When using Notes in OS 10.10, I can change the sort order. However, I cannot see how to change the sort order for Notes in iOS8 on my iPhone. I sync using iCloud, but the iPhone does not pick up the sort order (alpha) that I have chosen on my MBP.
Is it possible to change the sort order on phones?
