By "sos mode" do you mean recovery mode?  If so, you have to connect it to iTunes and restore it.

  • SOS mode on PAP2T

    Hi Guys,
I wonder if anyone might help me. I have a client that uses hundreds of PAP2T voip adaptors each year. They have handed me 40 or 50 boxes that are in SOS mode due to corrupt firmware to see if I can do anything to salvage them. Just to go through the basics:
They will not upgrade the firmware via the normal update software
They will not update via the tftp or http update string from a .bin file
The web menu is not accessible
    The voice menu is dead
However the box knows when it is connected to the internet as the web indicator works fine. My hunch is that the boxes have got this way due to irregular power fluctuation as the Spanish infrastructure is not great.
I know there is a SOS recovery tool but I cannot find a copy of the exe file. Can anyone help please and supply me with a copy I would be in your debt. I would be interested to hear if there is any other recovery procedure also.

    Hi nolimit5
Thanks for your reply, I have actually got in contact with linksys business support and I have provided them some output that I managed to retrieve from an old Sipura firmware recovery tool that I had. Although this does not overwrite the firmware I was able to grab the Hardware and software versions on one of the dead boxes.
When I get a resolution I will write up a procedure and make any tools available (If Linksys allow public access to them) and post it back on this forum for you.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • DFU mode Recovery

    Hi, Guys
Guys i have a question for you. suppose if i have lost my iPhone 5s and someone use iTune for recovery but it will first ask to disable "Find My iPhone". But suppose if some recover it with DFU mode then what will be happen, it will again ask for to disable "Find My iPhone" or not. or if someone use a third party software for DFU mode recovery then what will happen? i hope you will understand what i am trying to find out.........

    Hello Saqib,
It sounds like you have questions on what would happen if someone were to put the phone in recovery mode and then restore the device. They would run into the Activation Lock that will prevent the phone from activating unless you sign in with your Apple ID information. Here is some additional information on Activatoin Lock for you:
    iCloud: Activation Lock
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13695
With iOS 7 or later, Find My iPhone includes a new feature called Activation Lock, which is turned on automatically when you set up Find My iPhone. Activation Lock makes it harder for anyone to use or sell your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch if it’s ever lost or stolen.
With Activation Lock, your Apple ID and password are required before anyone can:
Turn off Find My iPhone on your device
Sign out of iCloud on your device
    Erase and reactivate your device
    And:
iCloud: Find My iPhone Activation Lock in iOS 7

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Rescue Mode/Recovery Mode

    Hello,
I have just read the "How do I access Rescue Mode/Recovery Mode on my player?" thread and was wondering what recovering the player actaully does.
Will this help with refreshing the tracks or does it remove them?
    Thanks,
    Rob

It depends on which device you have.
On the Zen/NX/Xtra, there is a little pinhole on the left edge of the device, well below the volume control. Power up the device, hold down the Play button and press a paper clip or pin inside the hole for several seconds.
You have 3 options in Recovery Mode:
. Disk Cleanup is a Disk Check. I've never had any errors come up during the Cleanup so I could not tell you what happens if it finds something bad.
    2. Reload OS deletes the OS on the player. Make sure you have the correct firmware downloaded from Creative before you take this step, you will need to run the file when prompted from your system while the player is connected. Firmware that uses the new PlaysForSure will not recognize the old firmware or drivers for the player.
    3. Format All deletes everything off of the dri've except the OS.
Hope this is of some help.
    Cheers,
    ShinjiT

    orshikhfromsc,
boot from the Mac OS X Install DVD that originally came in the box with your MacBook Pro (by holding down the C key as it starts up). When the desktop appears, select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu and erase your internal disk. After it’s been erased, reformat it. After it’s been reformatted, exit Disk Utility and reïnstall the version of Mac OS X from that DVD onto your internal disk. After that version of Mac OS X has been reïnstalled, boot from your internal disk and run Software Update to get it up-to-date within that version; that should allow you to redownload and reïnstall Mavericks, if  desired. If Mavericks is reïnstalled, run Software Update again to get it up to date.
If you no longer have the two grey installation DVDs, you can purchase a replacement set from either Apple or iFixit.

So I was updating  iPAD and while updating it stopped and gave me a typical error message but with error 4013. It worked fine before and is now stuck in the "connect to itunes mode" recovery mode. I have tried updating and no luck. I have even tried updating in DFU mode and no luck. Anyone git any solutions

    Are you following these instructions?
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

  • Problem with start up - won't boot. Tried safe mode, recovery mode etc.

Have also Tried Single user which just shows "error loading kernelcache" and before this reads "loading kernel cache file '\com.apple.recovery.boot\kernelcache'... And then read error ok? goes to grey screen with apple logo and no entry symbol? Any advice?
Tried all the online resources and have fond little help. Have not downloaded or Changed any settings...
    Happy 2014!

iCloud does not back up a Mac. "MacKeeper" is a scam. Apparently you have no backups at all, which means that you're in immediate danger of losing your data, if it hasn't already happened.
If you want to preserve the data on the startup drive, and it's not already backed up, you must try to back up now, before you do anything else. It may or may not be possible. If you don't care about the data, you can skip this step.
There are several ways to back up a Mac that is not fully functional. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
    1. Boot from the Recovery partition or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) Launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in this support article, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
    2. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode. Use the working Mac to copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
    3. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.

  • Noarchivelog mode Recovery scenario

    Hi,
We have a development server which has local unix file systems /u01-/u24 mount points. As many mount points are near to 100% our unix admin said they can't provide more space on the local file systems but we will be moving to EMC storage which has /u01-/u08 mount points. The databases on this server are in Noarchivelog mode. When they move to EMC storage i will copy (re-map) /u09-/u24 mount points data in the local file system to EMC storage /u01-/u08 mount points. After doing that i have to re-create the control file. When i am trying to open the database it will ask for media recovery. Since the database is in Noarchivelog mode i have no archive logs to apply. Please let me know in this scenario how to recover the database so that it opens without any errors. Appreciate your response.

    1) First put in mount status,
    2) Copy datafiles by RMAN.
    copy datafile 1 to ' new location';
    3) rename all the datafiles from local to Storage.
    alter database renaem file 'old location' to 'new location';
    4) If you want to change the controflile to SAN
    take a backup of controlfile,
    alter database backup controlfile as 'location';
    5) shutdown
Edit the PFILE to change controlfile location(new) if ASM follow below one.
    startup in nomount.
    rman> restore controlfile from 'backup location';
    5) Now startup will do , no need to recreate the controlfile.
If your datafiles are huge, then after copying all the files to new location, take the trace of the controlfile and recreate.

  • Password Recovery Cisco WLAN Controllers

    Hi,
I would like to know the procedure for recoering passwords on Cisco 2000/ 4000 series contorllers.
    Please Help!
    Thanks and Regards,
    Mohan

Sorry, you have to reset to factory defaults. Then reconfigure. Here's the TAC Case
    Solution # K52826052
Title How to recover a password on the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller
    Core Issue
    Resolution
There is no password recovery option on the Wireless LAN Controller (WLC). You need to set the WLC to factory defaults and reconfigure it.
In order to set the WLC to factory defaults, power cycle the WLC, press ESC Key during the boot up process from the console and select last option(5) to clear the configuration and reboot the Wireless Lan Controller.
Note:The new default username and password is "admin".

  • Endless Recovery mode (Recovery loop) IOS 8.0.2

Hey, guys! Do you know how to exit from recovery loop without erasing all my data? I tried to update ios 8.0 to ios 8.0.2 and it failed. I don't have any backups on iCloud or on my PC. I've read many forums, a lot of people have that problem with 8.0.2 and they can solve that problem too.
    Do you have any suggestions?

If your phone is in recovery mode, then there are no data on the phone.
If you don't have an icloud or iTunes backup, then your data is gone.  There is no place for you to restore your data back without a backup.

  • REP MSTP Compatibility mode on Cisco 4500 ????

    Hi all.
I having issue when deploy REP bethween Cisco 4500 Sup 7E/6LE with ASR 9000.
Follow the guide http://www.2mul.com/en/US/docs/routers/asr9000/software/asr9k_r4.0/lxvpn/configuration/guide/lesc40book.pdf , page 319 then ASR 9000 work at REP Access Gateway is supported when the access device (cisco 4500) interfaces that connect to the gateway devices are configured with REP MSTP Compatibility mode.
How to config REP MSTP Compatibility mode on interface of Cisco 4500 ??????????
How to config REP Access Gateway on ASR 9000 ???????????
    Please help!
    Thanks.

    Tran,
you can configure REP-AG on the A9k as follows:
    spanning-tree repag
    int g0/0/0/0.1
    int g0/0/0/0.1 l2trans
    encap untagged
Note that REP-AG is not full rep, we only trigger on the TCN from the rep ring and invoke a mac flush then.
Because the 9k needs to be at the head of the ring you need to configure the following on your peer:
    rep edge no-neighbor
and the compatibility mode is done via:
    rep stcn stp
Finally, if the 2 endpoints of the rep ring are on the same device, you may want to put the encap untagged EFP's into an XCON or BD, if the 9k's are remote a PW to make sure that you can transport the TCN's from one ring point to the other if need be in specific design scenarios.
