SOS When a clip is imported it is automatically sped up!

Ok, so whenever I import a clip into after effects cc the clip is always speed up, and this is on a clean comp too. Please help!

As Rick says, it may be that the footage interpretation isn't correct for your video, specifically regarding frame rate. See this section of After Effects Help for detail about that:
After Effects Help | Importing and interpreting footage items
Also, what is the frame rate set to in the Preview panel? Is it Auto, or is it a frame rate higher than that for your footage and composition?

Whenever I open Premiere Pro CC it works fine all up until I import a video/picture(or several) the problem appears when I try to click the video/image and alter it. Even just right-clicking the video/image causes it to close. I'm pretty stumped as I'm not too good at these kinds of things.

Apparently the import problem was resolved in update 9.0.1 (the latest version of iMovie '11 is 9.0.2) - see the article link in my first post above.

Thanks for that info! Even in my time answering questions on iMovie Discussion Group, I never had a good understanding of when and how Optimize Movie came into play. I always would import as Optimized and Large Size and figured that was good enough. But knowing you got much, much more flexibility doing it the way you describe gives me a much better understanding of the different routes you can take into the Event Library.

  • How do i see video clips already imported in to an event?

How do i see video clips already imported in to an event?
I have already created and shared one movie project from the clips and from photos but now want to make another. However, when i go to the library it only shows me the content of the first project, including the photos, not all of the video clips i originally imported. I can't believe that I need to import them all again.

It seems to me that you must have imported your clips using iMovie 9, (that's why they are all in the Events folder which belongs to iMovie 9).  Then you must have upgraded your current project to iMovie 10 which will have put the clips used in that project (but not all the others) into your iMovie 10 library.  iMovie 10 has a totally different storage arrangement for media.  You should be able to update your other iMovie 9 projects by choosing File > Update Projects  and Events in iMovie 10.  See: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.0.8/#/mov902ad0c31
This does not stop you from continuing to use the projects in iMovie 9 though any further editing you do will not be transferred to the other version of iMovie.
    Geoff.

  • PP-CC is hanging when I attempt to import/OSX10.9, 8 core, 16G RAM

First, I've been running system 10.9 for 2 months.  I did that upgrade and then went to Adobe CC for the latest version of Premiere which I love.  Today, APP-CC starts without issue but when I go to import clips, the browse screen dissappears and it hangs.  I've started and re-stared the machine, I downloaded a "bug fix" from CC for PP-CC, I even gave up and reinstalled CS6 PP so I could just work but now that won't even work.  There is also no software update available for my Mac at this time.  I'm running a MacPro 8 core machine with 16G RAM, plenty of hard drive space, and I keep scratching my head.  Why would all this work without issue for two months and then just stop working????  At the hang instant, all of the options across the top of the toolbar turn grey except for the "start dictation..." option, and you have to force quit to do anything after that.  I've restarted maybe 9-10 times, before and after the download of the "bug fix."  I want to make sure you understand, I had the problem prior to the "big fix."
5:00pm EST- now I have discovered that Photoshop is also hanging...    now I'm wondering if I have a hardware issue or if it might be an issue with CC?

This statement usually accompanies changes to other things on the system and not necessarily any changes to the program in question.  The best advice I have for you to get help is to answer *all* of the questions in the FAQ link below as completely as you can.  You've already provided some answers, but hopefully a clue will emerge when you add the rest of the information:

Why does 'User not registered for online use' show up when I try to import a cd into itunes? None of the cd info shows up either.

Well, the format I upload from the camera is "video clip" or "video for Windows"...sometimes I've converted them to avi format, too. But as I said, it never even lets me get that far...I never get to even select a clip. As soon as I tell the program to "import/clip" it freezes up before I can even go to the folder that the clips are in. It has only begun to do this recently, and I'd never had any problems like this before. Last night I tried it again, and I clicked "open composition", and it froze when I did that too.
I'm not sure how much more specific I can be about the details of the clips, since I'm positive it has nothing to do with the clips themselves...I'm running Windows XP, though...Home Edition Service Pack 2, Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz, with 504 MB of RAM. I have had the automatic updates turned on since I did my last reformat a couple of weeks ago. Could it have something to do with some kind of an update it may have done?

  • How do I select part of a clip to import in Final Cut Pro 10.0.7?

Greetings. I'm a newby in FCPX.  I've been watching Michael Wohl's tutorial and it looks like I should be able to mark parts of clips stored on my HD to import into the event browser.  But I don't seem to be able to mark the clips with either the "i o " keys or dragging.  Only the full length clip can be selected. Is this feature diabled in 10.0.7  or am I missing something?  I also don't seem to have the film strip/list icons at the bottom of the Media Import window.  thanks!

This capability only exists when importing from a camera card or camera archive.
You can't select part of a clip to import from a hard drive movie file.

Recently purchased a Sony A99 and when i try to import video to I movie 08 it keeps crashing, anyway to fix?
    Regrds

I'm not familiar with either your camera or iMovie 8 but you have a very recent camera and a very old version of iMovie so i'm not too surprinsed that there are incompatiibility problems.
What format are the video files from your camera?  (If its AVCHD I'm not sure this wasn't even invented when iMovie 8 came out.)
Are you are trying to import directly from the camera into iMovie?
You may have to copy the directory from your camera to your hard disk with the finder and then convert the clips into a format accepted by iMovie 8.
    What Mac do you have?
If you can I would advise updating to iMovie 9 - this requires iLife '11 and Snow Leopard or later (and for AVCHD a Core2Duo processor or later)
    Geoff.

Hi Appleman - thanks for your guidance.
OK RealTime Inspector: Dimensions of my clips - as I don't know which bit this is I will list everything under Inspector, including Format:
    00117
    00117
    33.30
    Format:MPEG-4 Video, 1280 x 720 millions
    AAC, 2channels, 44100Hz
    FPS29.97
    Data Size2.57GB
    Data Rate 10.20 Mbits/s
    Current size 1280 x 720 pixels (Actual)
And re the types of tracks you mention that iMovie '08 can't import, I don't much about film clips so haven't yet made sense of this, tho I do see that the clips are organised into chapters, so presumably this is 'chapter tracks'?
Thanks - I'll await your further instructions :-)

  • Using multiple clips / error importing

I have transferred my footage from tape to imovie. I created a new project for each tape (I have about 20 tapes stored up, that I can't import from my old PC platform, so re-importing).
Now I want to create a movie, using clips from multiple projects. When I try to import from one of the other projects, I get a message that iMovie couldn't parse it, error -43.
Surely if I recorded it from iMovie in the first place, and can play the clips fine from each of the individual projects, I should be able to import it?
In essence - How can I use clips from different projects in one new projects?
Appreciate any help please. I did previously purchase the mpeg2 converter.

Sorry to see the bush fire reports - sure is affecting our sunsets! And one volunteer Kiwi fighter killed yesterday.
One point to keep in mind when transferring clips - try to transfer all the clips based on a particular source clip all at one go. Otherwise (due to the non-destructive editing used by iMovie), you will duplicate the source clips , thus greatly adding to the size of the project in GB.
    Cheers
