Sounblaster Live! 5.1 Digital SB0

Hi people !
My soundcard is a SB0220 and i see on the internet, people dosen't seem to like it. I have some sound problem in 2 games, Rayman 3 and Toca Race 2, but all other game works fine. I would to know how to see if some new drivers or update comes for this card, i had buy this card in a computer store, and we can see, a lot of computer retailers sell this card, same thing of audigy or others ! :smileyindifferent:
Tanks !

Check the model number from a sticker on Li've! card board so you get the card properly identified (SB022x) --> BadBoy has some Li've! 5. CD's downloadable @ http://badboy.filefront.com/

• Sounblaster live value 5.1 digital freezes sys

Hey, I am having trouble with my sounblaster li've value 5. digital (model # ct4780), everytime that I try to install it, my system will boot ok, windows will recognize the hardware and then everything will freeze completely. I am sure that it is not a conflict (at least on one of the machines) because it used to work on the one machine (and I have not done any hardware changes). But, I tried switching it to another system and it would just freeze. I tried switching it back and the same thing happens.... Any suggestions other than chucking the thing?

I guess you got what you paid for... reffering to the motherboard
I cannot give you direct links but you can Google for AuzenTech X-Mystique, X-Plosion or for Turtle Beach Montego DDL... You will need a PCI slot thou, and those are not hardware accelerated soundcards (like the most of Creative ones) so they will eat some of CPU usage. How much - depends of your CPU power, of course. Your present card anyway, has no hardware acceleration so is ok I guess...
Another solution would be to add the Creative DTS li've encoder (I don't think is worth the investement for your crappy Li've24bit): http://us.creative.com/products/prod...y=6&product=49
I don't know of any USB solutions for this.

OK Status update:
I posted this question on the Dutch forum as well. I am happy to tell you all that in the Dutch forum Dragonfly is one of the moderators. He knows his MSI stuff
He gave me the solution to my problem. So just in case anyone else has a similar problem and can't read Dutch, here it is
He advised me to start the Media Live up with no monitor or TV attached to it at all. Then start up with either a monitor or a TV attached to it. Lo and behold.... the problem is solved.
All credits for this solution go to Dragonfly

• My Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Digital won't work with Vista

First off, I wasn't sure whether to put this in the vista or Sound Blaster form so sorry if this is the wrong place.
Anyways. I got a new computer two days ago and just installed my old Sound Blaster li've 5. Digital (model SB0220) card into the new desktop. Vista, the operating system I'm using now tried to find the drivers but failed. Then I tried looking them up on the creative site with the drop down lists but it didn't pull up anything either.
I plan on buying an m-audio 2496 sound card soon but for now I would like to get back to recording and the Sound Blaster card is much better than the stock motherboard audio setup.
If anyone knows of any drivers for this card it would be extremely helpful.
ThanksMessage Edited by 85Dave on 07-0-200707:22 AM

hmm...thanks.
Well its not that bad really. sound blaster cards are not made for recording audio and so I was going to get the m-audio 2496 card anyways.
I'm just waiting for drivers on that which are supposed to come some time in the 2nd half of 2007.
Thanks for the info.

• Sounblaster live driver prob

Hi,
I installed my soundblaster li've on windows xp, but it doesn't work properly:
Actually it works when it wants...
this morning i was listening music, the sound was perfect for 0 minutes but after i could hear unpleasant scratch sounds periodically...
i went in the device manager, their was an error on the audio controller: "the device couldn't start..."
I checked before listening my music, everything was ok ..
so i re-installed the drivers (Sound Blaster Li've! - Li'veDrvUni-Pack English)
It worked fine, but again after a few minutes the same scratch sounds occured....with the same error in device manager...
Does anyone has a solution ?

• PS2 - Live! DE + Digital I/O 2 + Computer = decode Dolby Pro Logic II?

Greetings,
I am a joiner of this forum but a long time user of Creative Sound Cards
since Creative Sound Blaser 2.0
I have a CT4760 + CT4770 and... a PS2.
I wonder if I can use a computer to decode Dolby Pro Logic II
from the signal of PS2 game via optical out to
Digital I/O 2 Optical In to computer to decode Pro Logic II
and output to some Creative 5.1 Speaker for example, DTT2500
or even Inspire 5700 (which doesn't decode Pro Logic II but DTS )
Any clue or solution from any experience user except buying DDTS-100
or some home theater solution with Optical In and Optical Input?

When the pro logic option is selected in the audio options, you should hear sound from the centre and rear speakers when playing just stereo sounds like music. I think Pro Logic is usually a hardware thing, but perhaps it can be implemented in software too. I think Creative should replace the CMSS button with a Pro Logic II button, as they do a similar thing. Although this would probably make the soundcards more expensi've due to the extra cost of including the Pro Logic II chips.
Actually, I have just read the post "<SPAN class=navbartext><SPAN><SPAN class=navbartext><SPAN>How to enable sound for my center, rear and sides speakers?", it says CMSS works well with pro logic material, so you could try that with your games. Also, the Audigy 4 is compatible with DTS Neo: 6, which is DTS's answer to Dolby Pro Logic II. Having never used Neo: 6, I don't know how it would sound with Dolby PL2 games, or whether it would work at all, but it might be worth having a go .<SPAN>

• Help on SB Live 5.1 & Digital I/O Mod

Hi
I've recently reinstalled my WinXP Pro Svc Pack 2 and is facing this problem with my SB Li've 5. and the Internal Digital I/O Module.
The Volume Control is detecting the Digital I/O module and have eg. Volume Control for the SPDIF In, when I'm using the WinXP Built-In SB Li've Series (WDM) Driver. But using this driver Creative Software like AudioHQ and Creative Mixer will not work. Creative Diagnostics fail and requie me to reinstall the drivers.
Installing the latest SB Li've Driver (Li'veDrvUni-Pack downloaded from Creative), AudioHQ and Creative Mixer does works, but the softwares are not detecting the Internal Digital I/O Module. The Volume Control column in does not reflects the SPDIF In (not hidden as well). AudioHQ also no longer reflects the Icon for the SPDIF Input.
Will be very greatful if someone can advise for a possible solution.
Regards,
Knite00

Your card is perhaps some of those OEM models (SB022-SB0229).
Maybe trick helps you to install the update.
By following instructions from http://www.tech-pc.co.uk/audigy-2.php you (perhaps) be able to use the latest Audigy n drivers w/ your card (and install Audigy software too, link for CD can be found from ). In generally, patching is quite painless to do, if you just use "Automatic method" and follow the instructions carefully.

• Help with sb0200 soundblaster live 5.1 digital.. only playing 2.1

At the risk of being redundant, I can not download a ligitamate driver for my SB0200 sound blaster li've 5. digital card... nowhere on this site.. I can not find my orginal disc, so I can not get the correct drivers... I also can not test my 5. speakers because I don't have the application that would come with thte driver disc... I am currently only playing out of 2.... no rear no center... is there any help for me ?

Did you remove your original soundcard and disable the drivers? If you don't do these things you can (and probably will) get conflict problems when you install the new soundcard, as most motherboards do not like more than one sound device attached to them.
In my case (a Compaq Presario PC) the advice from Compaq is to to delete the drivers, not just disable them. If you?delete,?make sure you can get hold of a fresh set of drivers for the original soundcard should you ever need to re-install it.Message Edited by monitor on 04-29-200705:0 PM

The front panel connections you want to use are adapted to be connected to a motherboard with audio included, NOT to a PCI audio card. You'll have to connect the front panel wires to your motherboard's audio connnector.

• SB live 5.1 digital (De

Currently, I have a pair of speakers at the PC and a splitter to send the same signal to another room to a receiver. All is well. Now, I just upgraded the receiver to digital. Is it possible to continue driving the PC speakers with analog output AND send digital output to the receiver?

I have the same soundcard and was pulling my hair out trying to get this to work >.< Turns out it's automatically set to "what u hear". Just go into play center, select the song you want to record, then when you have the EAX effect on, hit the record button. It plays through the song and saves it to a new file that has the effect on it.

• SB Live 5.1 - Digital out does not wo

With the Sound Blaster Li've 5. that I have, I have never been able to get a digital signal to play. My first theory is that my A/V Recei'ver (Onkyo TXDS 747) from 998 can only handle a digital coax signal of 48kHz. Is it possible this receiver is too old to handle digital in? If that is the case, can I de-tune the sound card with some setting to an output that my receiver would accept?
Secondly, what is the proper adapter to use to go from the mini-jack to the full sized digital coax table? (The proper term may be SPDIF).
Thanks!

That's right, I have no sound at all out of the digital jack. Analog works fine. I did more digging and found the manual on this site and it says to you a mono mini-jack to RCA adapter. So I think I'm good with my connection. So there must be a software adjustment of some kind.
Any other long shots you can think of?
Thanks!

• Live 5.1 Digital no installation

I have reinstalled win xp on my home pc. I cannot install my 5. digital without the original CD rom which I have lost. I keep getting a message stating there has to be a creative sound blaster sound card present. There is. I have looked on the forums for people with similar problems. The only solution seems to be install only with an original CD. Can anyone help. Where will i get a cd from?
