  • Sound Blaster Audigy SE Driver Prob

I have a problem with Sound Blaster Audigy SE,
Im using newest from creative download site SBA_PCDRV_LB__04_006.exe drivers.
After I turn on a game like ut2004, fear combat, even dxdiag (sound test) or pause sound in music/movie player system stops reacting or process "System" uses 95-00% of my CPU.
After few tests I discovered with help of KrView (kernel view soft) that p7filt.sys uses such big ammount of cpu If in Speaker Settings, Bass Redirection and Subwoofer Gain (+5) is turned on. (5. speakers)
I installed a bit diffrent version of drivers (from cd and even later I tested SBSE7_XP_Jul2005 additional driver). But then Subwoofer Gain option isnt working at all
its written Subwoofer Gain (+0) and with sub gain +0 sound quality very poor like in AC97 audio.
Ive also checked friends sound card on my pc and also i've tested exactly same thing on other computer.
I have xp sp2 with updates, newest bios, directX, etc etc...

OK..first of all the Audigy SE lacks any form of hardware acceleration, so turning on features like bass boosting/sound post-processing etc. will take away a lot of CPU time. The file you mentioned just acts as a software real-time filter, although it should not go up to the point of bringing a 2.4 Ghz Pentium 4 to its knees.
The sound quality will be altered even with every "DSP" effect (quoted because there's no actual hardware DSP, it's just emulated in software) set to 0, as long as the "DSP is considered acti've.
That's because the sound output is first converted from the time domain to the frequency domain (in poor words, the continuous sound wave you hear is broken down in many different frequencies like in those 80s ghettoblasters spectrum analyzers) because it's easier to amplify bass/treble that way, and then converted back to time domain (in even poorer words, a continuous sound wave you can hear/record/playback).
It's obvious that doing that thing in real time has a CPU cost, and even more obvious that the procedure is lossy and the input will not be the same as the output even with no effect applied, as long as the this double conversion takes place.
If you really need bass boost, turn any sound processing on the card OFF, and use speakers which have it. Also, if the CPU usage is abnormally high, try updated or a specific older version of the drivers that has more reasonable CPU usage/doesn't have that bug.

  • Can't install sound blaster wow headset driver for tap chat use

?I get an error I-00 when installing. I google it, this is the install.log file:?
<div class="message-format"><div class="rplol">Sound Blaster World of Warcraft Headset]
    GUID={0429B343-D023-4524-89BC-0478E0D9E3C3}?
    Error=I-00 Bitmaps not found.
So wtf do I do now? I can't figure out how to install it, and the keys bound to tapchat right now are left ctrl + delete (which basically does ctrl + alt + del for windows 7)?

CIf you have winrar, winace, or 7-zip, or winzip on your system, right click the WOW driver executable you downloaded and extract it to a folder where you can easily find it. Once the file and its contents are unpacked, open that folder and run setup.exe.

  • Sound Blaster 5.1 Driv

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help with the drivers for my Sound Blaster 5.. Creative no longer offer any support and I was not given a cd when my card was installed. I have since had to reformat my computer and cannot find a copy anywhere.Rick

I am a little dissapointed in the lack of suport also. I am in the military and moving around quite often has me "misplacing" items of which has been my soundblaster li've! value cd. I am currently trying to get my computer back up and running due to massi've amounts of adware and such and low and behold I can't get my sound back due to lack of a driver database on the vendors website. And all I need is the ability to move the sound from digital to analog. (digital wires are another thing that seem to have been eaten by the moving monster). Main point is if a product is sold to the general public then the soft support should be there in the way of documentation and drivers.
I know this is a little off this subject bud moderator, could you please suggest to the IT folks not to include the members password in the verification email. This is a security matter, what if someon accidently added an extra letter or missed out on a letter in the email and the information goes to another email account. I know the individual is suppose to ensure that his/her email is correct but we are humans, and some of us stay up way too late running on will power and caffein, main point is we make mistakes. Well I wouldn't want my mistake going to another individual with my password attached... Don't think anyone else would either. So please make a heavy hint to remove the password in the verification email....

  • Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme audio lag prob

    Hi,
    System sepcs:
    XP SP3
    AMD 2.5GB Dual Core
    2GB 800MHz RAM
    500GB HDD 32MB cache SATAII
I have a sound blaster X-Fi Xtreme audio card and have the latest drivers. when i play any type of sound, music, movies etc the sound seems to 'lag' or play very slow and i tried re-formatting my computer but still no help.
    Any help/ideas is greatly appreciated.

With your Evolution e49 keys (USB), did you install the drivers to add the USB Midi In via the Properties MIDI music Playback. Once you install the drivers for that USB device, you will have the option to select and change to the USB midi device in Properties MIDI music Playback. This can be easy to do in windows xp, not in vista. In vista you have to have some DAW software installed, such as "Cakewalk SONAR Home Studio 6" to change the midi devices around within the DAW software. In audio console, you have :?MIDI Device:
SB X-Fi Synth A [EC00]?This is normal and will not see a change or can not be changed within the audio console.
I have the E-MU Xmidi x (In/Out) USB midi cable. I had to install the USB midi drivers for this device, both in Windows XP and Vista. In Windows XP>Properties MIDI music Playback, I can change to the E-MU Xmidi x USB device and use.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy with 5.1 Speakers prob

I have 5. speakers with a sound blaster audigy sound card. I've installed all the drivers and additional programs but it looks like my 2 rear speakers are not working. I thought maybe it was some kind of speaker problem but when i switched the 2 rear with the 2 front then the rear worked but front didn't. In the surround mixer i tested the 5. and here are the results:
    - Front Left (Sound: OK, Speaker: OK)
    - Center (Sound: NO SOUND)
    - Front Right (Sound: OK, Speaker: OK)
    - Rear Left (Sound: OK, Speaker: NO - The sound comes from the center speaker)
    - Rear Right (Sound NO - It sounds very strange... bearly you can understand the words, Speaker: NO - The sound comes from the center speaker)
The wired are set correctly i checked it and I dont know what it might be wrong. Drivers are ok and everything are installed. Help please.

"I thought maybe it was some kind of speaker problem but when i switched the 2 rear with the 2 front then the rear worked but front didn't."
Does this not indicate two of the speakers are not physically working? Or have a mis-interpreted?

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro Prob

Recently I've purchased the Creative Power Pack Pro 7., it included the <SPAN class=textbluebold>Creative GigaWorks 7. S750
<SPAN class=textbluebold>speakers, and <SPAN class=textbluebold>Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro soundcard. I've installed my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro card and setup my Sound Blaster GigaWorks S750 speakers but so far after many attempts haven't gotten them to work. I've tried all updates off the Creative site and gone through the cards settings. For some reason in the speaker settings it only lists Headphones, 2., 4. and 5. speaker settings, leaving out 7.. I've checked all plugins and hookups, and am stuck for now. I have a brand new Sony Vaio computer, so i know that my computer is not the problem. I read through all the forms and I was only able to find one other question like mine, one person answered saying that the <SPAN class=textbluebold>Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro is not compatible with 7. speakers. I have no clue why Creative would sell the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and GigaWorks S750 7. speakers if they are not compatible with each other. Someone please help me. Thanks.

  • Sound Blaster Card Kills Driv

Howdy do folk! I have a Sound Blaster PCI 28 CT: 4700 Sound card In my computer. I also have an Matrox MGA G200 Video Card in my computer. For some odd reason, the sound card kills the drivers for the video card. Everything was working great till I put the sound card in.. Then the screen came up fuzzy with whacky colors everywhere and I had to restart in safe mode and go to System to uninstal the video card, restart, and reinstall the video card. Everything works when I do this, but everytime I shut down my computer I have to do it. If I remove the sound card everything works fine. I've tried reinstalling the drivers for the video card and the sound card... No changes.. Anybody have a clue as to what could be wrong?
    Thanks
    Darryl

    Darryl,
Could be due to IRQ conflict. Have you try moving to another PCI slot.

    Before Posting:
Is your sound card not working? Do you need advice on what to try to fix it? Then you are at the right place. Before posting your question, there are a few things you will want to check first.
Perhaps your question has already been asked and answered. Thousands of questions have been asked and are all stored here on the forums. Right above that orange navigation bar is the search bar, try searching for what you are experiencing. If there is a thread but it doesn't answer your question, check the date, if it is several weeks since the last reply it would be better to name a new thread then resurrect the dead thread.
Also before posting collect as much information about your card as possible. Get the model number off of the card/device itself and also the inkstamp number (found on an inkstamp or silkscreen on the non-chip side of the card) if you have a sound card. Please note that if you have a card that was preinstalled in your computer by the manufacturer or you bought the card in a brown box or static bag that it is most likely an OEM card. In cases like these it may be best to contact the retailer or the manufacturer (don't forget to check their forums if they have them) for support as the cards can be very different from the retail versions.
    Lost CD, Need Drivers:
Standalone drivers are available for many of our sound cards and devices on our website. The best way to check is to go to Support/Downloads and select your product from the list and click next. Then you select your Operating System from the drop box (keep the other options on their defaults) and click go. The very first section should be the driver listings. Just because a driver says that it is an update, doesn't mean that it isn't a standalone driver. The best way to check is to click on the details button and read the requirements section. If it doesn't say that it requires previous drivers then it is most likely stand alone and is worth installing. These standalone drivers usually include a configuration utility called "CTpanel.exe" that a quick search of your drive after install will locate. You can use this to set the card up.
If your card does not list standalone drivers then you will want to contact support to obtain an install CD.
If your card is OEM, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your system or the retailer you purchased it from for the install CD. There can be major differences between retail and OEM models and the retailer or manufacturer are provided with drivers specific to the card they are distributing.
    Standard Troubleshooting:
If you are going to ask a question, there are a few standard troubleshooting steps that are suggested for almost any problem. You should really check them out before posting a question as it can save you a lot of time waiting on replies.
First off, try a cleansweep and reinstall of your card. Often all that the card needs is a fresh start. The steps for this are found in these Knowledgebase articles:
Uninstalling Sound Blaster Drivers and Applications(Windows Vista)
    Uninstalling Creative Disc Detector
    Uninstalling Sound Blaster PCI Cards
Uninstalling PCMCIA Sound Blaster Devices in Windows XP
Uninstalling ExpressCard Sound Blaster Devices in Windows XP
If that doesn't work, not all is lost. There are many standard troubleshooting steps that are used for almost all problems. Fortunately we have a separate Kbase article that covers these steps. It even has suggestions for specific problems. Here is that link:

Popping Clicking, Hissing, and Other Sound anomalies:
Perhaps your question is about a popping, clicking, or hissing sound that your card seems to be generating. If so, then this article is for you. The sound optimization article:

    If Nothing Above Works:
One last thing to try would be to clean boot your version of Windows. Perhaps an application is getting in the way of the card working correctly. Try it and see if the card works when clean booting into Windows. If so then something that is starting up is interfering with the card.

Boston Acoustic Digital Speakers or Prebuilt System With a Digital Live! Card
Some name brand systems shipped with a special Live! Value card that was made to work with digital speakers. If you system shipped with a Live! Value and you have digital speakers you will need to use drivers provided by your system manufacturer. If you use the drivers on the Creative website your card will no longer work with your digital speakers.
If you have a set of Boston Acoustic digital speakers that came with your system and they are not working with your sound card, make sure you have it connected to the digital out on the card. Also make sure that the digital out is enabled.
    If None of this helps:
If none of this helps, then it is probably time to go ahead and post your question. Make sure to let everyone know what you have already tried from this article, otherwise you may get responses suggesting you try them again.

"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies - 'God [darn] it, you've got to be kind."

There's a small discussion on the Asus forums about this issue here:
    http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20052602425373&board_id=&model=A8V&pa ge=&SLanguage=en-us
I'm extremely certain this has nothing to do with Creative. I recently tried a Turtle Beach Riviera 5. sound card in my Asus A8V board with the same poor result. Onboard sound works fine as long as you remove the PCI card. Oddly, the four sound cards I've tried (three by Creative) work fine on the same MB using Windows 98. Only Windows XP has this issue, but since it works fine if you restart/wake up from standby/or hit F0 after entering the BIOS, it's obviously directly related to the BIOS.
Since this problem has gone on for so long with no acknowledgment from Asus, I'm not very hopeful this will ever get fixed. I've considered trying an M-Audio Revolution 5. and see if that works, but I know it's a long shot. I'm also not sure if I want to risk close to $00 on a sound card that I figure has a 0% chance of working.
(If ANYONE out there in the world has a sound card that works with games on an Asus A8V - please, please, pretty please post in this forum so we can all go out and get it!)
It absolutely amazes me that a problem this significant slipped by Asus during their supposed "4,000 dedicated man hours" of testing!

  • Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE = dimensi

Hello,?Can any tell me the height of?a Sound Blaster Audigy SE card?I am building a HTPC and the case has a limmited height so I need to make sure the card fits the case. I've searched the creative site (also product manual) and internet but I haven't found an answer.
    Thx in advance,MeanMachine

I have a Sound Blaster Audigy SE on Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit operating system. So far this Gateway GT5404 duo core pc is having better audio capabilities with high end games like world of warcraft, with some noticable sound issues (Sigmatel audio). I bought this card to better the audio performance of World of Warcraft and get rid of these issues. I'm not sure if this card is any better than the on-board intergrated sound card on this gateway. Is this just a driver issue with the Audigy SE card? or is my on-board better? After putting it in world of warcraft's sound on the logon screen and throughout the game sound "stretched" from lag from the video card's high end performance (NVidia GeForce 7600 w/latest drivers). Any help or info would really do me good right now. Thanks,?PurePower
