Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS: Listen and play separate trac

Hi,
I recently purchased the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS card for my laptop, however I was wondering if it is possible to play one track and listen to a separate track while the first is playing. The reason being i am using the laptop for mobile dj'ing, so really want to queue up the next track before playing it blindly. If someone could let me know if it's possible and if so how to do it, that'd be much appreciated. Thanks,?Jason

As you mentioned laptop, I assume you are speaking?of Audigy 2 Zs Video Edition (USB) or Notebook (PCMCIA)?None?of?Audigys?is?good for this type of use?but, you could try with some DJ software as like the Nati've Instruments Traktor in ASIO mode.- http://www.nati've-instruments.com/index.php?id=djline?(demo available)?jutapa

  • Sound blaster audigy 2 value doesn't play cd's

.sound blaster audigy 2 value doesn't play cd'sY I'm running win 2000 sp4 -- have 2 cd/dvd players/burners--using soundblaster audigy2 value sound card with software from original installation cd. When I try to play cd's using the mediasource player/orginizer it apperars to play but no sound is heard. It plays mp3 cd's fine but when i try to play a regular cda cd no sound is heard. Everything plays fine if I use windows media player.
It appears that the creative mediasource software is corrupted. I have tried removing and reinstalling it multiple times with the same result. It is mediasource version 2.02.59 and the drivers are version 2.9.6.
The sad thing is that is worked fine at one time but now it doesn't.
I have also run the auto update and tried the newer versin of mediaplayer(3.30.2) but that creates even more problems.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy installed - How do I play Auxillary inp

I connected my li've dri've with my Sound Blaster Audigy (). After doing this, I installed the drivers from the website below. However, I only installed the program "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 series and Audigy 4 series Driver 02.08.0004."
That program doesn't come with anything (as far as I can tell) that will let me listen to the audio coming in through the auxillary plug on the Li've Dri've. Does anyone know what I need to install so I can listen to stuff through my li've dri've?

Thank you very much and sorry for the dumb question.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver according to this (http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=ww_english_add,U={B8F6030-DA4F-D3-94F4-00500463020E},Company={CEAE26D-879-4C00-AC9F-03BC258F7B70},d=3025443648,VARSET=ws:http://us.creative.com,case=72). However, I did not have the installation CD so I used the driver I downloaded, but everything seemed to work fine and sound played fine. Problem is, when I open windows "Play Control" I do have an auxilliary option, but sound still does not play out of the auxillary option.
I tried again to use "Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe", but it again gave me the message "Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio card on your system. Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this Setup program. Setup will now exit."
Please someone help me I'm trying to get my new Sirius to play through my auxillary and I just can't seem to get this to work. I have the IDE cable connected from the Li've Dri've to the card and the black cord connected from the card to the driver and, with this same setup, the card worked fine on a different computer. Is there some software I need to download for the card? The only thing that came with the driver package was the driver and "Creative Audio Console" and I have no other Creative programs whatsoever.
Thank you for all your help. I'm sorry to be such a newbie, but I really want to make this work.
Why are you trying to install the Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG), if you got an Audigy series card?
I think the Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG) is intented for SB Li've! cards and not for Audigy.
If you have an "OEM"/"Var pack" version of the card then you perhaps need to patch the installation using ctcomp.exe
(you'll find the link and instructions by searching the file from this forum).

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, SPDIF, and Z-5

    Hi guys,
I'm new to the board and will appreciate any help you can give me. Is there any way that I can get the SPDIF out of my Audigy 2 ZS soundcard to connect to my Z-5500 speakers and pump digital audio to them. Only after purchasing the Digital I/O Module from Creative directly (thinking it would provide the needed outputs) I e-mailed Creative support and was told that the module was not compatible with my soundcard. What do I do, purchase, or fabricate to get this connection to work? Or can it be done at all? And if so, what the heck is the point of the SPDIF out to begin with...
Help needed and appreciated in advance.

I Use Vista 64Bit Ultimate and when I try to install this package I have an error message after my language selection. Is there a known issue for this
    Thanks!

Yes it is called trying to install the wrong driver for your card. Will work much better if you try installing the correct one,
    SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe
Also helps if you click on the "Show Details" link on the download page, then you would see that the one you tried to install doesn't support your card,
    Requirements:
Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 or Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004
Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS, or Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit audio devices
whereas the correct driver shows the following,
This download supports the following audio devices only:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy including Platinum and Platinum eX series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 including Platinum, Platinum eX, and Value series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS including Platinum and Platinum Pro series

When will a 64-bit version be available?

Has anyone tried the "AMD64" Driver for the Audigy Value (I assume this is the SE?) that is on the bundled CD?
I tried different driversets from the download/support site to no avail.
I didn't think about the CD driver until I got to work this morning.
Really wishing I picked up the Li've! (yesterday) instead of the Audigy Value now
...expected this card to have a better chance, especially with "x64 drivers" on the box.
Oh well, I'll give it one more shot tonight with those CD drivers... hopefully something will work.Message Edited by abz on 2-07-200604:08 PM

  • Creative sound blaster audigy 2 zs h

I have creative sound blaster audigy 2 zs card and a set of AV labs, amped 7. sound system speakers. i have 4 input wires to plug into the card and it only seems to have 3 output jacks. When i go and calibrate the speakers i am missing out on my two surround speakers. how should i be hooking these up. There is probaly a simple ansew to this but it has me stumped. help please

    Please read Creative's speaker connectivity guide: <A href="]http://ask.americas.creative.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=787,E=0000000000070303557,K=54,Sxi=0,Question3 895=obj(3895): obj(3899))[/url] (Remove the space between ": obj", I wrote so cause I get a smiley otherwise:angry: )
As you will see in the article, the Audigy is fitted with two 4-pole connectors, which can carry 3-channels each. So you only need 3 wires for a 7. system, as you have 2 normal stereo plugs (3-pole) and 2 3-channel plugs (2*2+2*3=8). You will most probably need different wiring for your speaker system as it appears you have 4 stereo plugs.

    Hi Specter,
Don't worry, it's better to ask questions and get the answers you need, than to be confused or unsure
The first question is a bit subjecti've, some people may notice the difference, but the quality/SNR on those cards is very high so it shouldn't make much of a difference really. It will sound better aswell as you'll be hearing the full effects, in the proper speakers, instead of just stereo.
As far as the second query goes, I can't really recommend any particular application to you personally, but others can add their input there. The full versions of the various applications should all pretty much have the same options, at least the ones I've tested generally allow you to change the audio option which is what you'll need if you want to connect digitally (most DVD applications now have a built-in decoder, but if you want the audio to be sent over the digital connection you need to turn off the decoding option, so it outputs the signal untouched, to your receiver). Trial versions don't have as many options though, so on some you might not be able to adjust the option you need, but that shouldn't be a problem on full versions.
    Hope that helps,
    Cat

    jay23,
First extract the RAR file you downloaded using WinRar. During the extraction, WinRar will create an ISO file which is an image of the installation CD. If you don't want to burn that ISO file to a CD, then download and install MagicDisc from the link I gave above. MagicDisc lets you mount an ISO file as a virtual hard dri've. You should be able to install from that virtual CD just as if it were a real hard copy CD, but I've never tried that so can't say for certain.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy and STAL

I've got the following problem. In game called "S. T.A.L.K.E.R" i can hear very lound sounds of shooting and very silence people conversations.
I've got "Sound Blaster Audigy" and Creative Speakers.

    Hi,
    There are several choices if it comes to Audigy (emu0kx) drivers;
    First you can use the last official Creative Labs' driver for the Audigy series which you can download on the official driver download site here at Creative Labs' site, but you will loose a lot of apps/softwares, but it should work;
The second one would be the mentioned Daniel_K's driverpack 3.8 for the Audigy series which works pretty good, although I dislike the individual installers/uninstallers for each applications which makes uninstallation of the driver very annoying.
The third one would be the Project KX driver which is very light in size but very powerful, especially for recording and other music related purposes. There's a learning curve since it really looks different (interfaces for example), but once you have found out how the KX driver works you will be happy you own an genuine Audigy emu0kx soundcard.
