jay23,
First extract the RAR file you downloaded using WinRar. During the extraction, WinRar will create an ISO file which is an image of the installation CD. If you don't want to burn that ISO file to a CD, then download and install MagicDisc from the link I gave above. MagicDisc lets you mount an ISO file as a virtual hard dri've. You should be able to install from that virtual CD just as if it were a real hard copy CD, but I've never tried that so can't say for certain.

What's the model number of your soundcard? Certain series of Sound Blaster doesn't support adjusting bass and treble so you have to use the Graphic Equalizer software instead to adjust it.

Yes it is called trying to install the wrong driver for your card. Will work much better if you try installing the correct one,
    SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe
Also helps if you click on the "Show Details" link on the download page, then you would see that the one you tried to install doesn't support your card,
    Requirements:
Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 or Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004
Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS, or Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit audio devices
whereas the correct driver shows the following,

Re: Sound Blaster Xtreme Audio missing Stereo MixK I think I'm having a similar problem with my Windows 7 Professional system.
I'm am getting sound out of my card.
When I right click on the "speaker" icon in the task bar I see the following list of 5 options
    Volume Mixer
    Playback Devices
    Recording Devices
    Sounds
    Volume Control Options
However when I click on "playback devices", "Recording Devices" and "sounds" nothing comes up.
What I did do is completely uninstall all traces of any installed Creative software and in the device manager did an uninstall for the SB Xtreme Audio Card.
My recording device is the integrated microphone in the Logitech Quickcam/IM that I have installed. If I go to accessories and click on "sound recorder" it doesn't start up either.
The other issue that I see is that when I go into Control Panel and click on Sounds, nothing happens.
Something is definitely going on but I can't seem to track down the cause.

  • Creative Sound Blaster Audigy LS and soundfo

Hi! i got an Audigy LS, is it possible to use soundfonts with Cubase For example?
i didn't notice any instrument lik synt A or B like Sbli've did.

I'm not completely sure of the answer, but the Audigy LS specs have both wavetable synthesis and soundfont support listed. That indicates to me that it should be possible.

    Hi karloch,
Pardon me for saying that I did not detect the noise you mentioned in your attached MP3 file. I can't be sure it's the noise or is it part of the music; especially towards the end of the playback. I'm using VLC player btw.

  • Sound blaster Audigy LS install probl

HI, I just bought a sound blaster Audigy LS, and after installing the card Windows finds the new hardware, but when I put in INSTALLATION CD I get "setup could not detect any sound blaster audio card on your system" I`ve disabled all onboard sound and old drivers, and tried ALL pci slots now as well. Im very sure the card is fitted correctly, the model no is: SB030. any advice would be very helpful. Thanks alot ` WILLEEEE `

    All,
In order to give any helpful suggestions to these kinds of problems we will need a couple of extra bits of information:
) Steps already taken to resolve problem
    2) System Specs including processor and chipset
    3) Model Number of the sound card
    4) Operating system and service pack
Willeeee provided most of this, however he has also done all of the steps I would suggest without knowing #2 and #4. In all of these cases it is worth trying to install the latest drivers from our website. I know that the original Audigy can be installed using only the drivers found on the webpage and I would suggest trying that first. Also make sure that you have tried different PCI slots in your system.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy software CD probl

For a few years now, I have been running the old Sound Blaster audigy card, and have never needed to upgrade as it's such a good card and it does everything it's required. The problem comes in the form of the original software CD distributed with the card. (I've already read the faq and have already found a solution) The software CD is very terrible, in the great many years I have had to reinstall my system for various reasons, the part where I install my audigy card software is by far the most tedious, and completely unpredictable.
When I say tedious, the installation takes forever, even if you set the most minimum of installation requirements. On top of that, if the program in itself loses focus, it halts the installation, so no playing Freecell in the background to pass the time. Otherwise, the installation generally halts at around the 97% mark and says "updating drivers..." I've left this one night and gone to bed and it's still been at 97% over 0 hours. This one really gets me, there's no error message. So the only way around this is to ctrl-alt-del, and uninstall, and then restart.
On the other hand, as I recently found out, installing of the playcenter that comes with the CD, often stalls the installation completely. During the install playcenter wants to know which media formats to assosiate. The problem is, it brings that screen up behind all the windows, and the only way you know it's done that is by clicking "show desktop". It's not possible to bring it to the foreground, so basically the installation has to be killed.
But then I get to the unpredictable part, half the time the installation isn't complete, and if you open up the surround mixer, most of the information is missing, no speaker settings or EAX.
So for a long time I looked for a remedy to this problem, often downloading the Webupdates didn't seem to always work, they too had their similar problems. And only now have I finally come up with the answer, the new OpenAL beta drivers. Completely different installation program, and works perfectly. To think an installation of the size of around 20mb has fixed such a long problem, thankyou Creative I can now chuck out this completely useless CD and replace it with the quick and very easy OpenAL beta. I thought it was supposed to be the beta products that were more buggy.
Anyone else noticed these style problems?

I've been fiddling around in the Device Manager and it has Other Devices and under it is Multimedia Audio Controller, I can choose to either reinstall the driver udate the driver, disable it, or uninstall it. Here's what comes up on properties
This device is not configured correctly. (Code )
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.
Help would be appreciated here. I'm a big gamer and would like to have this up and running before our first CAL Match.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum BIG Proble

I have sound blaster audigy platinum and in few weeks I have got this strange problem that I?ve hadn't before. If I use old drivers for it, windows gives me blue screen with "bad pool caller" very often when I play or just listen music. With new drivers it gives me "driver irql not less or equal". At the same time in linux it works fine. In windows I've checked viruses etc. reinstalled windows many times, used memtest and so on. Finally 2 days ago I took my Sound blaster off my computer and ever since I haven't got any problems. So it obviously is the problem. But I just don't know what to do anymore to get it work? Now I use the sound card that comes integrated with my motherboard but it's not as good. Btw I don't use integrated sound card same time with sound blaster. Please Help!

  • Sound Blaster Audigy and STAL

I've got the following problem. In game called "S. T.A.L.K.E.R" i can hear very lound sounds of shooting and very silence people conversations.
I've got "Sound Blaster Audigy" and Creative Speakers.

    Hi,
    There are several choices if it comes to Audigy (emu0kx) drivers;
    First you can use the last official Creative Labs' driver for the Audigy series which you can download on the official driver download site here at Creative Labs' site, but you will loose a lot of apps/softwares, but it should work;
The second one would be the mentioned Daniel_K's driverpack 3.8 for the Audigy series which works pretty good, although I dislike the individual installers/uninstallers for each applications which makes uninstallation of the driver very annoying.
The third one would be the Project KX driver which is very light in size but very powerful, especially for recording and other music related purposes. There's a learning curve since it really looks different (interfaces for example), but once you have found out how the KX driver works you will be happy you own an genuine Audigy emu0kx soundcard.

  • Vista drivers problems Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Noteb

First thing to do: haveyour systemchecked out, if windows says the hardware is failing there may really be something wrong with it.
If the SB card works in an XP machine there may be a problem in the the PCI slot or controller on the motherboard, either way have a tech shop look at it. If thehardware allchecks out: before putting the card back in completely delete the old driver and software, download the new one without installing it, then put the card in and windows should try to auto-install with the new driver.P.S. the platinum version is the one with thecontrol panel that slots into a dri've bay, if you have one of those, it's a platinum, if not, it's a regulHi all, how are you
I have a Sony VAIO VGN-SZ430N/B notebook, and I'm trying to install Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook on it (Unfortunately, the notebook came with windows vista business from factory).
This notebook has a Texas Instruments PCMCIA controller.
Under "Device Manager" the PCMCIA controller is described as "Texas
Instruments PCI-8x2/7x2/6x2 CardBus Controller", but on Sony's
webpage the driver that seems to be related to it is "Texas
Instruments PCI74 Integrated FlashMedia Controller Driver".
It is kind of all in one solution from Texas Instruments (PCMCIA
controller, Memory Card reader, and Firewire controller).
Please, may someone help me to answer the questions bellow
1)Are there any kind of compatibility problem between this notebook PCMCIA controller (described above), and Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook
2)I've already brought this notebook to Sony's support service, so they could verify if there is any kind of hardware problem with the notebook. Sony's technician wasn't able to find any hardware problems on it, but I'm experiencing the problem described below:
2.)Every time that I plug this sound card on my notebook, and I try to install Creative's latest windows Vista drivers(Creative Sound Blaster Audigy series Vista Driver 2.2.0002), thus It leads me to a Blue Screen during the driver installation process. Please, Does somebody know what could be this problem root causeIt is very weird, even if i try to install this sound card on clean windows vista install, then it leads me to blue screen. Besides, I have another PCMCIA card from another manufacturer, and I was able to install its windows vista drivers with no problem.(It sounds that Creative labs' vista drivers is the problem root cause as I've tested this sound card on a different notebook with windows xp and It worked fine).
3)Does anyone know if creative is planning to release a windows vista driver that allows the users to use all of this sound card featuresSo far the latest driver available doesn't support even DVD-Audio. Have creative labs discontinued this product
I appreciate any help you can give me,
    thanks in advance,
    Rogerr ZS.

The best advice I can give is to fully remove ALL Creative software. We've compiled a list of entries that will cause problems here. It's very important before installing newer files.http://nomoregoatsoup.wordpress.com/...tall-problems/Then install some better drivers and see if that cures your issues. The 2.2.0002 drivers are really, really awful, 99% of people I've spoken to had problems with them. I personally like 2.5.0002 Hope this helps.

  • Trying to install the latest Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS drivers do not inst

I have tried the autoupdate feature here it says I have installed (Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, DR release .84.0). I downloaed the 3 latest drivers for my SOund Card (SBA2_EAX4DRV_0303.exe, sba2_pcwdrv_lb__84_55-r.exe and SBA2_BETADRV_US_2_05_0000.exe) when I try to install these it tells me I do not have a Audigy 2 Sound Card and goes no further, can anyone please explain why?
    Thank you.

If you're using a dynamic microphone, the Audigy 2 ZS dri've bay has a jumper which you can change for it to support dynamic microphones instead of electret microphones. However once this is done you won't be able to use electret mics until you've changed the jumper setting back.
