Sound Blaster Connect pops whit inter

After reading through most of the "pop/crackle"-threads I didn't find anything usefull, so I'm gonna throw my problem on here. I bought a SB Connect, which pops and crackles whenever my pc connects with the internet, only then. I think it's probably because my network-card is also connected with USB, like the soundcard. Could this be right ? And if so, can I do something about it ? I've tried moving the soundcard further away from my internet-adapter, but that didn't help at all. Only thing I can think of now is maybe getting a long extention-cable for my adapter, to move it further away from my pc. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Everything seems to be OK so it's propably the drivers for your modem that is causing the issue. Just try if updating them helps anything.
Also, you can turn the MPU-40 (onboard MIDI/Game port) if you dont need it.

  • Connecting Sound Blaster Connect to an old hi-fi to record ta

    Hi,
Does anyone know how to connect the sound blaster connect to an old hi-fi. there seems to be only cable included that will go to the back (video?) feed of my hi-fi (the double ended white/red cable) and when i plug that in to the hi-fi and sound blaster it doesn't record anything so i assume it's not right. is there a cable i can get which i can just plug into the headphone plug on my hi-fi and then into the sound blaster? i don't understand all the technical phrases used on other messages or the website so sorry if someone has asked this question before.
Can anyone help me? i really want to record all my old tapes onto computer.
    thanks

I always used a stereo guitar/keyboard cable and used an adaptor to make it smaller on the computer end (my headphone socket on my hi-fi is big). But yeh, I always just used the headphone socket on the hi-fi and the line-in input on the soundcard. This has worked for every sound card I've ever had...
You could just use something like...

  • Sound Blaster Connect: Why no Smart Record

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I've just bought a Sound Blaster Connect to convert my audio tapes to MP3. The box and the instructions both say it should include Smart Recorder software to accomplish this task, but I can't find it on the CD. Am?I missing something? Do I need to download something extra? All help appreciated. Scandalxk

I don't think it's wrong forum. I have the same problem. Installing and desinstalling programs from CD, once the smart recorder was installed, another time wasn't. No one knows why. Now the main problem for me is that if I klick on the smart recorder knob, the message "no audio equipment on this computer" appears and the program is aborted.
So I cannot use my Sound Blaster Connect for the only purpose I bought it - for the recording.
If you know how to fix it, please tell me.

  • Cannot record with sound blaster conn

I have purchased a Sound Blaster Connect to convert stuff to mp3. Using line in I can hear sound through headphones on the Connect, Creative MediaSource seems to realise there is sound (monitor moves), but as soon as i try to record, I get a - 'the recording process was aborted' message. I can record to mp3 via WaveStudio but results 'stutter'. Any advice?Message Edited by Brianjay on 05-30-20070: AM

That's not the issue, the problem is that some games are firing 32-bit float audio (0x0e type as indicated in the error) into ALSA through whatever means, and the standard GLC only supports 16, 24 and 32bit signed int audio. My fork above adds very rudimentary support for float.

  • Sound Blaster Recon - Why no treble control?

Why isn't there treble control on this card? This is a real handicap as it denies me the capability to fine tune sound to my satisfaction. Fiddling with the equalizer isn't quite the same as having a dedicated treble control.
I've owned AWE64, SB Live Digital & X-FI Xtreme Music and all these cards had treble control.
What's the problem with giving the user treble control on an expensive card such as this?
    Pls share your thoughts.

  • Connecting PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook to Onkyo HT-S580 Recei

    Hi
I have PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook audio card with my Thinkpad laptop.
I have bought Onkyo HT- S580 Hometheater system. I was hoping to connect the Line out, Line out2, Line out3 jacks to the receiver's Front, Surround(rear) and Center in jacks.
The color on the Onkyo Recei'ver end are Center - Green , Surround(rear) - Blue , Front - White
The color on the Creative Card end are Center- Orange , rear - Black , Front - Green
There is color difference between these two ends . Is it advisable to connect these two jacks ?
Please recommend the suitable cable type and name for this connection
    Thanks

    Hi
Colours may vary --> just connect by the instructions from both manuals.
    There are good explanations for
    - Stereo and 4-Pole Jack Diagrams
    - Connecting a multichannel home theater receiver
    - cabletypes needed on connections
    on User's Guide.
NOTE: This User's Guide can be found on your driver CD too.
Also, here is the Onkyo HT-S580 manual.

  • Cracking and popping noise Sound Blaster x-Fi Platinum Running on Windows 7 32 Bit

Hi everyone, I am using a x-fi platinum card and it simply wont work with Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit. I have been using both windows 7 public beta and release candidate for last 8 months. Let me give you my PC configuration.
    Intel Pentium D 3.4GHz
2GB DDR2 Memory running in Dual Channel Mode
ATI Radeon HD 4670 Video Card With 52MB DDR3
It has a built in sound on mother board (Disabled at the moment)
With the above configuration I tried using my x-fi platinum on both Windows XP and Windows Vista, and it worked perfectly without any problem. When I upgraded to windows 7 beta for the first time with the creative beta driver for windows 7, I noticed that whenever there is any on screen activity, such as minimizing and maximizing windows, switching windows, scrolling, photo or webpage transition, etc. there are cracking and popping noises. And if there are continuous or too much activity on the screen at some times the sound card completely fails and unable to provide any sound. When I took the sound card out and enabled the on board audio chip (Realtek HD Audio), the sound was fine without any cracking or popping issue. I eventually upgraded to Windows 7 RC and also currently using the latest driver for windows 7 and I am still having the same problem. As a reasult I am being forced to use the on board realtek audio solution which provides really crappy sound compared to x-fi platinum.
It appears that the problem exists only when I try to run x-fi platinum on windows 7. I really hope there is a solution for this otherwise I will have to sell my beloved sound card which I have been using for at least 3 years on ebay and stick with low quality Realtek HD sound system.

Not all of them, I have none of those problems with my Xtreme Music. This won't help the guy asking about the Xtreme Audio (search the Sound Blaster section for the one for your card), but using this,
    http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/SB-X-Fi-Series-Support-Pack-2-0-05-5-2009/td-p/527485
with this installed over the top,

  • Connecting a mixer to sound blaster: live 24bit externa

Iv got some dj decks, and wanted to record my mixes to my laptop, so i saw the external sound blaster li've and thought that would do the trick. But it turns out that it is alot more complicated than?i thought. First of all, it took me ato install everythnig without something going wrong, but all the driver (for vista) seem to be ok now. Once installed, i connected a 3.5mm jack into the line in, on the soundblaster, and conncected the other end to my mixer. That all done, i went onto the recording programme that you get with the sb, but here is where it goes wrong the message 'there is no audio device on the system, the application will now close' comes up. Of course this stops me getting onto any of the programmes, and stops me from recording. After this i checked on control panel/device manager, and it said that everything was working correctly, but on another page it says 'cannot find hardware connected' although the blue power light is on. I have now run out of ideas of what to do, so any help would be great.
