Sound blaster live platinum 5.1 installation help ple

Hi,I have a SB li've P 5. sound card. I had to replace hard dri've and OS to XP My install disk isn't supported by XP and closes out. I downloaded the install from Creative for XP but when I ran it, it also closed out because it couldn't find a previous install. So how do I get the software back on to run my sound card? I'm trying to connect my cassette player back up to it so I can record cassettes into my computer to make CD's out of them. I used to be able to when I had the software on my old machine.Regards,Chuck

You may have to use the connection on the rear of the sound card...there should have had a "Y" shaped cable included with the speaker/sound card..it has a small 1/8" plug on the single end and opens to a din plug and rca type pluge on the other...try the single end in the orange input at the sound card and the other two plug in to the speaker system..sorry bout being so vaugue, i'm kinda tired..but if you need the original speaker system/ sound card owner's manuals with the installation diagrams I can get them to you.

Well when i play a DVD if i select audio in dolby digital i listen OK but i dont listen in dts. I fix dts input in my amplifier, but nothing sound. May depend by my sound blaster type? Sound Blaster Live Platinum 5.1 and MCE2

I have recently built myself a WindowsXP Media Center Edition PC for my entertainement box. I also own a Sound Blaster Li've! Platinum 5. that I bought when it just came out. I have installed the drivers from a new CD that I found on the Net, these work fine. Everything works except for the following. I had a look @ the remote and it has everything that MCE would need to control it.
Now, my problem is this. Does anyone know how I can let that remote operate MCE? I have looked all over the net, and I havn't found anything that allows me to configure it. Any Idea?

Sound Blaster Liv! 24-bit Need Help Fast

Hi?I have Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit and the card was working fine until I format my?hard dri've?and reinstall windows. The card doesnt work anymore i install every software from CD, Creative Web and?I even did auto-update nothing my card still doesnt work. I disabled on motherboard soundcard and i check everything in settings and everything was fine but I still dont get sound out of my speakers. My speakers work i checked them at my friend house to be sure. Please help me ASAP thank you...

Could you please explain your problem in more detail?From the info you posted, it seems your soundcard appears to be installed properly. By that i mean, Windows detects it, the drivers are installed etc. But you are not getting any sound?If that is the case make sure you check yout Mixer settings and make sure the Wave and Master outputs are not muted.

Download both part and 2 to the same folder, unrar, burn the ISO of the installation CD and then run installation from this new CD.

Sound Blaster Live! Platinum 5.1 and DTT2500 5.1

Hello!
I have a Sound Blaster Live! Platinum 5.1 and a Cambridge Soundworks DTT2500 5.1 Digital Sound System.
I linked them with with the SPDIF-Out on the Live! Drive.
First i thought it works but then i realized that there is only sound from the 2 front and the center speakers. There is no Signal on the Sorround Speakers.
When i do the sound test in the sorround mixer, only the left and the right front speakers work.
Do i have to link it with this 9 pin digital din cable? But i don't have such and don't know where to get.
Can you help me?

I have this card instalelc currently my pit bull ate my CD. so when I formatted now I have a "BLUE" mixxer But I originaly had the "Cold Platnuim" look one with the Soundblaster center that droped down from the top of my screen?So now my sound card dont work to well cant do any affects on the mic anymore and my Mixxer dont load my Mixxer sounds. Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum EX

Hello, I have a Sound Blaster audigy platinum EX-, me and bought a new PC and have put my targeta SB, but in the installation as soon as this one quite made, when I want to calibrate my 5. puncturing in Mediasource's icon there goes out a mistake that he says: his targeta is not compatible with this controller. I have put him Win XP with SPack 3, as I have seen it is not drivers for this targeta with SPack 3, only it is with SPack 2, which I must do , do I put a SPack 2 Or is it drivers for SPack 3

Don't worry, it's better to ask questions and get the answers you need, than to be confused or unsure
The first question is a bit subjecti've, some people may notice the difference, but the quality/SNR on those cards is very high so it shouldn't make much of a difference really. It will sound better aswell as you'll be hearing the full effects, in the proper speakers, instead of just stereo.
As far as the second query goes, I can't really recommend any particular application to you personally, but others can add their input there. The full versions of the various applications should all pretty much have the same options, at least the ones I've tested generally allow you to change the audio option which is what you'll need if you want to connect digitally (most DVD applications now have a built-in decoder, but if you want the audio to be sent over the digital connection you need to turn off the decoding option, so it outputs the signal untouched, to your receiver). Trial versions don't have as many options though, so on some you might not be able to adjust the option you need, but that shouldn't be a problem on full versions.

Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum creating hard re

Greetings. Looking for insight on what I might do to alleviate a problem I am having with a Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum sound card and dri've.
This is the original Audigy Platinum. I am running windows XP pro with all sevice packs installed.
Installation of this new unit went well. No hardware or software conflicts and the card and audio "dri've" worked on the first attempt. All software also installed properly.
Unfortunately, when playing any audio through the system continuously for over a minute or so, the system begins to have trouble. This trouble is exerienced independent of what software or media type is playing the audio.
First, the sytem will have momentary "hangs" where the audio will be interrupted by a monotone electronic beep lasting from a fraction of a second to a couple of seconds long. The audio will then resume from the point it had left off when the tone began. If I continue to play audio after these tones begin, the system will shortly thereafter go through a hard reset. (By hard reset I mean an immediate return to memory count, bios screen and then startup as if I had pressed the reset button or the power had been interrupted)
The ONLY time this takes place is when I have been playing some sort of continuous audio.
As I said, if anyone has experienced this and has any insight as to the cause or more importantly the remedy to to the problem, I would appreciate the input.

Sound Blaster Live 5.1 - SF1 damaged.

Yesterday I've found on my SBLi've5. that subassembly signed as SF (near MID/Gameport) is corrupted (looks like burned out).. Is this little one correspond with using an eventual midi keyboard od game controller? What kind of component is that? Resistor? Or something else? If this thing is important for communication through MIDI/Gameport, and if yes - could it be repaired by changing invalid component?

BA7500G + Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit + Windows 2k = no sound

Similar to the thread for Win XP, I have inherited a BA7500g speaker system, and purchased a new Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit card for my Win2k system. Cannot get the speakers to work, although the speaker test works from the BA control unit. Noticed the digital audio input cable is color coded, and I don't have the original card that matches this scheme. Could this be the problem?

I have installed a new (not used) Soundblaster Audigy SE and BA7500G speakers and I'm running XP Pro. I'm getting no sound even when I change to Digital Out only? Not sure what to do? Is this sound card not compatible with my speakers? Do I need to purchase the Digital I/O Module that Creative is currently not in stock? I can find the Digital I/O module on Ebay if need be but not sure that's the solution. Please help!

Sound blaster audigy platinum ex constant static sound, PLEASE HE

hey, i just got my sound blaster audigy platinum ex sound card today and the second i installed it and plugged in my speakers i got this static noise that would come out at all times, when i would play music you could hear the music softly, but still the static dominates. I disables my onboard sound and tried reinstalling in a different pci slot but still same problem. This is my first time buying a creative card and it has not been a pleasant experience so far. Can anyone please help me?

go to the mixer settings and one of the sliders. the one
beside the wave slider to the right and slide it down to about 40% and try it, while playing if static still present
slide it down more while the track is playing, i had the same prob wwith li've 24bit 7. and this cured it for me.

Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum BIG Proble

I have sound blaster audigy platinum and in few weeks I have got this strange problem that I?ve hadn't before. If I use old drivers for it, windows gives me blue screen with "bad pool caller" very often when I play or just listen music. With new drivers it gives me "driver irql not less or equal". At the same time in linux it works fine. In windows I've checked viruses etc. reinstalled windows many times, used memtest and so on. Finally 2 days ago I took my Sound blaster off my computer and ever since I haven't got any problems. So it obviously is the problem. But I just don't know what to do anymore to get it work? Now I use the sound card that comes integrated with my motherboard but it's not as good. Btw I don't use integrated sound card same time with sound blaster. Please Help!

Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum

Hi there I just had a quick simple question. I am interested in buy one of the Sound Blast Audigy Platinum eX sound cards with the external portion as well. I am wondering if the external can double as a receiver so I can just hook up a set of speakers to the PCI card for my TV and my Personal Computer. Is this possible, even if I do need to purchase extra adapters? I have an RCA cable I can run from the L/R of my TV to the External Card, but can the External card provide an output to the speakers? Basically all I am asking is if the TV sound can go out of the PC speakers...lol Sorry if I made it sound more complicated than it really is.
