Sound blaster not installing correc

I just installed a new X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro. It seemed to install smoothly, no error, windows lists it as functioning, and?I even have sound (though it only comes out of my front speakers, Not sure if thats related)? However Creative's software keeps saying "no supported device found". I have tried using the drivers on the CD, the auto updater, and the old and new drivers listed on creative's site. Nothing has fixed it. The odd thing is that without me touching the connections the sound sometimes only comes out of the back speakers and sometimes only comes out of the front (never both at the same time).
My old PC had a Creative card and it ran fine in both XP and Vista (except for that DirectX sound issue). This card appears to use the same drivers, the only difference is that I am using a 64 bit OS now.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium x64 SP.

  • Can't install drivers for sound blaster live Telling me there isn't a sound blaster card install

I am doing a fresh install of xp on a machine. This machine had no hardware issues before I formated the dri've and re-installed windows xp.
Everytime I go to install the drivers for the sound card I get an error message telling me that setup cannot find a sound blaster card installed on the system?
I even pulled a known working li've card from the machine I have downstairs. Put the card in and started up the machine. The driver pack is still telling me there is no card installed. I've tried three different pci slots as well.
I even went as far as re-installing windows xp without service pack 2 integrated and even that didn't help!!!
Is there some kind of fix that I am missing?

the unipack download from creative will not work. first, try asking around if somebody else has the same 5. creative card as yours. the only solution for your problem is to use the installation cd that came with your creative card. I lost mine so i went to a pc repair shop and inquired if they have a copy of such cd - they normally do.
. you need to remove all the programs concerning creative from add remove programs. 2. shut down, and remove the sound card. 3. turn the pc on and let windows boot normally. install the the softwares and drivers using the cd that came with the box. 4. shut down and install the sound card 5. turn on the pc. windows will find a new hardware and will find the right drivers bec you have previously installed them. There is absolutely no need to reformat your hard dri've.

  • Sound blaster not working correctly?

Sound blaster not working correctly #I have a 64 bit, windows vista system.
A Logitech Z-5500 Digital speaker system (one woofer, center speaker, left, right, rear right, left rear speakers, and a seperate control head).
I have an X-fi gamer sound card.
I recently formatted my hard dri've and reinstalled everything. Trying to make everything happy again. Here is my problem:
When I use the Creative Console Launcher (CCL), my front right speaker tests fine. My front left speaker comes out of the woofer. And no other speakers will test at all. It does this in all modes (2., 4., 5. and 7.).
When I play some music, it is coming out of all of the speakers. But it won't test properly in the CCL. So, do I have an issue, does what the CCL is doing not matter, or something else In some games, hearing what direction stuff is coming from matters, so if it is sending sounds to the wrong speakers, then I need to figure out a fix.....hence my post.
Thanks for any help you can give, Robert

Well, as the official documatation states, the Archlinux is for more or less advanced users, and if you're not one, we will make you one
First of all, if you compiled your sound as modules, try putting this in your rc.local:
    stat_busy "Activating Sound"
    /sbin/modprobe your_sound_module
    /sbin/modprobe other_sound_module
    /sbin/modprobe yet_other_sound_module
    stat_done
Change your_sound_module stuff to your module names as you configured in the kernel, of course.
Second: in order to have two or more sound apps working at the same time, you need some kind of sound server. For default one (esd), uncomment esd in /etc/rc.local (remove ! before it) . After that, you'll have to configure your sound apps to use esd. I know that this is extremely easy with xmms and xine, dunno about others. I do not use esd, because my favorite games (quake3 and half-life) require direct access to /dev/dsp.
And remember: nobody blames for asking 8)

    Hi,
Try to install everest software. You can find it at download.com .  Once downloading it will give you a report of what kind of sound device you have and a link to download the latest driver( probably it will  be from toshiba web site).

  • Sound Blaster Audigy installed - How do I play Auxillary inp

I connected my li've dri've with my Sound Blaster Audigy (). After doing this, I installed the drivers from the website below. However, I only installed the program "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy, Audigy 2 series and Audigy 4 series Driver 02.08.0004."
That program doesn't come with anything (as far as I can tell) that will let me listen to the audio coming in through the auxillary plug on the Li've Dri've. Does anyone know what I need to install so I can listen to stuff through my li've dri've?
    http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?sOSName=Windows+XP&region=&Product_Na me=Audigy&Product_ID=4847&modelnumber=&driverlang= 033&OS=0&drivertype=0&Image4.x=33&Image4.y=3
Thank you very much and sorry for the dumb question.

However, I did not have the installation CD so I used the driver I downloaded, but everything seemed to work fine and sound played fine. Problem is, when I open windows "Play Control" I do have an auxilliary option, but sound still does not play out of the auxillary option.
I tried again to use "Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe", but it again gave me the message "Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio card on your system. Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this Setup program. Setup will now exit."
Please someone help me I'm trying to get my new Sirius to play through my auxillary and I just can't seem to get this to work. I have the IDE cable connected from the Li've Dri've to the card and the black cord connected from the card to the driver and, with this same setup, the card worked fine on a different computer. Is there some software I need to download for the card? The only thing that came with the driver package was the driver and "Creative Audio Console" and I have no other Creative programs whatsoever.
Thank you for all your help. I'm sorry to be such a newbie, but I really want to make this work.
Why are you trying to install the Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG), if you got an Audigy series card?
I think the Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG) is intented for SB Li've! cards and not for Audigy.
If you have an "OEM"/"Var pack" version of the card then you perhaps need to patch the installation using ctcomp.exe

  • Creative Sound Blaster Not Recording Microph

    Hi guys,
I am totally frustrated. Just recently I had to do a system restore. I have the good ol reliable Sound Blaster 2NX model SB0300. I use this mainly to record my elvis impersonation (lol).
But as is the case with System restore; The creti've application was effecti'vely rendered useless. I have lost the isntallation CD so I tried manual download here; that did not work so then I did the auto.
sound blaster is working, playing music, in fact it sounds better than before. After system restore I also updated all the computer drivers...so they're up to date.
Now then, I can hear my voice and music an all but, its not recording. When I press the record button an error message appears to effect "The recording format is not supported". I am unable to even use the other appliactions I use to record music eg REAPER etc and now I am not able to recod vocals. At fist I thought it was the sound card mixing but now I am suspecting the Blaster.
I have read most of the threads here and have played arround (ie sound mixing?& selecting "what U hear", in fact i've tried all the selections exhausting all possibilities; so now I'm seeking help from the experts.
    Help.
    What to do!?

    Wow,
Talk about picking the hardest solution to an easy problem.  You guys were right, it wasn't driver related at all.  It simply wasn't enabled in the system BIOS.  I never imagined that it would be disabled as a default.  I conceptualized this is Plug and Play (Which was wrong).
Thanks for the hand.  BTW, MSI help desk was clueless about this (which was surprising).

  • Qosmio F10 display and sound drivers not installing

Hi, my hard drive went and on replacement we used the toshiba recovery disk.
We have installed the Intel Chip Software and then NVIDIA driver. It says its installed but makes no difference after restarting computer. The sound driver starts to install and then says driver not found. We have downloaded new drivers and keep getting the same results.
The operating system is XP home. Any advice is apperciated.

    Hi Fresh,
    > It says its installed but makes no difference after restarting computer.
Which difference should it make? After driver installation your computer will boot in the same way as before so I dont know which difference you expect after driver installation.
As Akuma wrote normally after using the recovery disk, all drivers and tools are preinstalled. Do you have yellow exclamation marks in device manager?

  • Sound Blaster Not Compatible With Windows 7

I recently installed w7 over my xp system. All was fine except it didn'y support my sb li've 5.1 digital card. Any ideas apart from trying updates (i have the lates already), what product my work with an older system

Which Dell cables? To the speakers? If so, time to change the speakers then.
Also try online such as eBay. Google for "Dell 38FRH". Ignore the Windows 7 drivers links. First few I found were fakes/scams. Scroll down. On the first page there were a couple of sites that carried it.
I would rather change the sound card [get something "modern"] and speakers than continue to use proprietary stuff.
Using Win 7 on an 8 year old system? Yeeesh.

  • Win XP will not install on K9N4 Ultra based system, please help!

Hello, i was hoping some1 could help me with a problem ive been trying to sort out for the past week or so.  After buying and building a new system i havent been able to get Windows XP to install, the setup formats and copies the initial files correctly then restarts the computer for the first time, the Windows logo then displays on the screen but after that the screen goes blank and nothing happens, the HD led flashes regularly but nothing else happens.  Ive tried installing with both XP home and pro, neither worked, installing Vista works without any problems. I have tried using the Sata drivers from the motherboard CD and from MSI website but that doesnt make any difference, ive also checked the CPU temp which at idle is 25C.  Ive tried pretty much everything i can think of without buying extra components to try which i am reluctant to do. On one occasion XP did install but at the time i was trying to install to the second hard drive with a failed install still on the first hard drive, thinking that whatever was causing the problem had been solved i then formatted both drives to do reinstall so that i wouldnt have to screw around with the boot record manually, ive since tried recreating this situation but it hasnt worked when i tried it a second time.  Ive tried installing with only one hard drive installed with a freshly made partition and full format and it still did not work.
    My specs are:
    MSI K9N4 Ultra-F
    AMD AM2 X2 3800+
    Corsair DDR2 667Mhz 2 DIMMS 1Gb each
    MSI Geforce 7300GT 256Mb
    Seagate Barracude 7200.9 Sata2 hard disks (2) 250Gb each
    450W Win Power PSU
There is also a Creative Sound blaster audigy sound card and a samsung DVD RW, nothing else is connected.
The only thing that i could think might be a problem is the PSU which is a pretty cheap one, also only has 20 pin and 4 pin connecters (both are connected) but i was under the impression that this would be ok.
If anyone has any ideas or knows something i dont about why this isnt working with XP please let me know.
    Thanks

Have you checked the memory timings in BIOS Setup?  At one time MSI used to just get them wrong and I recall having to set DDR CL to 3 (correct for the DIMMs I had), instead of the 2.5 it chose - no idea on DDR2 though but check that your Corsair specs cross-check with what's used.  Is the Sound Blaster Audigy installed?  If so try taking it out and go into BIOS Setup and Load Optimized Defaults, then disable all the "fluff" which is not absolutely necessary for a basic install, like on-board audio, ethernet, unused IDE/SATA channels, FireWire(?) etc.  You want to get down to a minimum required Windows driver set and if that helps, start adding things back one by one.  Also check your mbrd seating for shorts and the CPU heatsink seating... does the CPU temp look right in BIOS Setup.

Any help with this issue would be great. I?m about to just spend that 3 dollars on the
Creative session on a new non-creative sound blaster card that doesn?t have these issues.
Some additional information that might or might not be helpful is that I don?t have windows
XP on my C dri've but on my a separate partition I created on my C:\ the G:\.
I have disabled my onboard sound card.
I have even deleted creative from my registry to see if that would help and still nadda.

Ok, so I installed windows XP sp and all the hardware drivers video card, network card etc... I installed the Sb 0220 drivers from the cd and everything works perfectly now. So I guess if anyone is having the same problem as me the fix is installing windows XP w/o Sp2. I will be updating this partition to sp2 and will keep everyone updated if the audio card craps out on me. Do note that I installed the drivers with CTZAPXX by going to X:\Audio\Drivers\CTZAPXXX (x being where your CD/DVD dri've is) Clicking driver installation/WDM Drivers and ok. So far it looks like the problem with the sound blaster not working was either A: Windows being installed on a different partition than C:\ or B: Service pack 2 is screwing the drivers up with my current computers configuration. As I said before I will update this thread when I find out if SP2 makes the thing crap out again.

I have tried the autoupdate feature here it says I have installed (Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, DR release .84.0). If you're using a dynamic microphone, the Audigy 2 ZS dri've bay has a jumper which you can change for it to support dynamic microphones instead of electret microphones. However once this is done you won't be able to use electret mics until you've changed the jumper setting back.
