Sound Blaster Omni 5.1 Surround randomly loses audio in or out.

When I'm playing games or voice chatting in skype - sometimes sound just go off or mic stops working. And I see that in Windows Playback devices sound bar is green as if sound is there, but nothing heard on headphones.
I re-plug usb cable and it works again. What could be the problem?

    Hey xnathanmeyerx,
Please select Line-In of Sound Blaster Omni Surround 5.1 as the default Input for the Mac computer. It can be configured at Sound under the Mac System Preferences. I hope this helps.

  • Sound Blaster OMNI Surround 5.1 - input issue

    Hi there all,
Purchased one of the above units today after sales person confirmed I could input three channels. I have three radios and wanted to take there mono output and put 2 into 1 for Line-In (Stereo) and 1 into Mic-in (Mono).
Have tried everything and can't have both Mic-In and Line-In active at the same time in Win7, reviewing manual and sales images its show you can attached to line-in and to Mic-in but does not say anywhere you can only use one at a time.
Can someone please confirm if its possible to use both Line-in and Mic-in at the same time or not.
    Many thanks
    Dave

  • Sound Blaster omni 5.1 doesn't work with Yosemite 10.10.1

Hi all! My SoundBlaster omni 5.1 doesn't work with Yosemite 10.10.1 (installed driver for Yosemite 10.10). Equipment in system is displayed properly, like "Sound Blaster Omni Surround 5.1". And SB is set as active. Volume controller is active (system shows volume adjustment). But there is no sound on output (either) and mic doesn't catch the signal. With MS Windows 8.1 it works good. Therefore I suppose problem not in hardwear, most likely in drivers.Does anybody have the same problem?

  • Problem install driver sound blaster Omni surround 5.1

Hi, I have just bought this sound card. My computer is using win 7. But when I insert CD and install driver. Then I can't install it and the message below is showed:
"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system"
Please help me resolve it .
    Thank you so much

Maybe you are connecting your Omni Surround 5.1 to a USB hub. How about trying to connect the device to another empty USB port?
Maybe you can try to disable your on board sound card in the bios to see if it works.

  • Hooking my sound blaster to my Denon surround amplifier

Is there anyone on line that could advise me on how to do it's
    Lormer

;? ?If your amp has the multichannel analog inputs on it, that is far-and-away the best method to connect your card to it. That way, you get multichannel sound from ALL sources that produce it. It's just not worth it to struggle trying to get multichannel sound using the digital hookup. So many posters report problems with the Dolby Digital encoding software that can be added for that purpose. Although you will need at least three stereo pair cables for the analog hookup, you will get the best possible fidelity from the card that it was designed for. the digital system is highly compressed only to be "reassembled" a few feet away in the receiver and to me it's just not the way to go. Using the free download for Power DVD you can even watch DVD movies in full surround, or if you have Nero or any other type of DVD player software you will get multichannel sound. I use an Xtreme Gamer card and have awesome and wonderful 7. channel sound, even from my MP3 collection.

  • Sound Blaster Omni 5.1 - mute speaker and mic with single button push

Does anyone know if its possible configure the Omni to mute both speakers and the Omni's internal mic with a single button push using the hardware volume/mute button on the Omni. I have a scenario where i need to mute both quickly when a call comes in and its a nuisance having to mute the speakers and mic separately.

    Hi Tony,
Unfortunately there is no physical button to achieve that. Neither is there a software button to disable both speakers and mic at the same time.

    Wow,
Talk about picking the hardest solution to an easy problem.  You guys were right, it wasn't driver related at all.  It simply wasn't enabled in the system BIOS.  I never imagined that it would be disabled as a default.  I conceptualized this is Plug and Play (Which was wrong).
Thanks for the hand.  BTW, MSI help desk was clueless about this (which was surprising).

  • My Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Digital won't work with Vista

First off, I wasn't sure whether to put this in the vista or Sound Blaster form so sorry if this is the wrong place.
Anyways. I got a new computer two days ago and just installed my old Sound Blaster li've 5. Digital (model SB0220) card into the new desktop. Vista, the operating system I'm using now tried to find the drivers but failed. Then I tried looking them up on the creative site with the drop down lists but it didn't pull up anything either.
I plan on buying an m-audio 2496 sound card soon but for now I would like to get back to recording and the Sound Blaster card is much better than the stock motherboard audio setup.
If anyone knows of any drivers for this card it would be extremely helpful.
ThanksMessage Edited by 85Dave on 07-0-200707:22 AM

    hmm...thanks.
Well its not that bad really. sound blaster cards are not made for recording audio and so I was going to get the m-audio 2496 card anyways.
I'm just waiting for drivers on that which are supposed to come some time in the 2nd half of 2007.
    Thanks for the info.

  • K230 and Sound Blaster X-Fi

    I purchased the following:
    Lenovo IdeaCentre K230 - MTM# 53592BU - build 57093706
    Machine Type 10016
It came running Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
I had it downgraded to Windows XP PRO SP3, took it back to VHP-64,
and now I am running Win7 Ultimate 32bit.
I can get the ADI SoundMAX 1988 audio to run in all three instances without any trouble.
I upgraded to PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series audio card.
It worked fine in Windows XP for about 6 weeks.  Then it started giving me problems.
It would give me static and background noises. Then I would not get any audio at all.
All the time, the Device Manager said it is installed ok and working fine.
I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and getting no where.
I then restored the Lenovo VHP-64 on a new hard drive and reinstalled the X-Fi.
No matter what I do, I can't get any audio from this card.
Now I am trying Windows 7 32-bit to see if this will work.
I have had much better luck with Win7's hardware support in other PCs I have built.
What could be causing this problem ?????
    Pete...

Does anyone have any comments regarding my posting?
    Thanks.

  • Creative Sound Blaster ZxR Optical s/pDIF Surround Recording

I just downloaded and installed Audacity for Windows version 2.x.x (the latest Audacity version).
I'm recording my xbox 360 game play sound and possibly some OTA Antenna receiver Dolby 5.1 Surround through a Toslink optical cable input on the daughter card of the SB ZxR sound card.
I'm using an Intel Core i7 2600 in an Asus p8p67 deluxe running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 using the Creative Labs Sound Blaster ZxR.
It works fine for Xbox 360 dashboard System Settings, Console, Digital Audio, set to Stereo (2 channel sound), but does not when xb360 is set for Dolby Digital 5.1 output since the Audacity drop down list box for the recording device has only the options for Stereo or Mono--even when 5.1 Surround is being output by the xb360.
When the incoming audio stream of 5.1 surround is recorded by audacity, the sampled sound is a huge amount of loud almost white noise of random digital static sound.
What audio device capabilities enumeration is being used to determine if incoming AC3 multichannel digital optical signals are more than stereo since this stream could, in theory, change on the fly depending on the program material being sent by the source device?
Is this the fault of the sound card driver from Creative Labs and is being reported improperly to MS Windows intermediate level device driver layers, that are in turn reported to audacity in its enumeration of the device's input stream contents?
To see the physical appearance of the Creative Labs Sound Blaster ZxR DBpro daughter card with its gray output Toslink female socket and its black input Toslink socket, do a Google image search as follows:
"sound blaster zxr" optical in dbpro "daughter card"
    http://goo.gl/ewO6ha
Is there any way to circumvent this sad state of affairs as a temporary work around for this problem with an interim software source code revision?
Could a software layer or function be added in audacity to parse the incoming data stream to determine the streams' characteristics (possibly on the fly -- in real time)?
When in the Creative Labs SB ZxR software control for mixer, etc, I have the settings for the card sometimes set to "listen to this device" for the Optical Toslink input port, and the sound coming out of the Speaker Outputs does not get sent to the Optical Output Toslink port to go to my Dolby digital audio receiver--my default Windows sound device--so that I cannot hear any of the supposed input audio stream at all.
Why is this effective pass through functionality not working?
I have two or more Hauppauge ComputerWorks High Definition Video capture devices with Toslink optical inputs, and they work fine to capture higher level multichannel AC3 optical streams.
What is wrong with the Creative Labs Soundblaster ZxR recording capability for such streams?
Can the driver be updated to fix these problems?
I have posted a few hours ago on the Audacity software's web forums to see if anyone there has any answers as to what can be done and what is happening and what is at fault in this process...
    http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewto...p?f=46&t=84846

I noticed the following when I more closely examined the SB ZxR Mixer settings...
The Toslink / optical s/pDIF input levels, even when an AC3 surround 5.1 channel stream is being input displays level control sliders for only Left and Right channels, when there should be 6 channels.
Creative Labs Dolby is improperly being handled within both their driver and application software for the sound card, or the card itself is designed NOT to handle properly multichannel AC3 in a dynamic fashion as provided by the source optical device.
    Why?

  • Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Loses LFE Chan

Hi. I have a Sound Blaster Li've! 5. card hooked up Analog (3 RCA cables) to a Sony Home Theater System (SA-HT05). The 5. works perfectly for Center, Front, and Rear channels. However, I cannot get any ouput from the LFE channel. My reciever can simulate 5. through stereo source, and doing this I am able to get output so I know that my sub is not the problem.
I have tried increasing the bass vs treble in the Creative Surround Mixer (00 Bass vs 2 Treble) and there is still no LFE output.
I have tried using Bass Redirection in the Creative Surround Mixer (All Frequencies) and this also resulted in no LFE output.
After playing around with an audio decoder (FFDShow) and increasing the bass (double to triple output) and then listening to only that channel, I was able to hear some output. This makes me think that most likely something is making my LFE channel extremely soft, to the point where I cannot hear it unless it is the only channel playing.
Has anyone experienced this problem before, know a fix, or perhaps even a workaround ? (FFDShow only seems to do video files, can I configure it to be my default decoder for ALL audio [video games, etc]?
PS. Unless I am mistaken, there have been no new drivers for this device either (I used the update within windows as well as searching this site)

You will get better results using bass redirection in yer surround mixer or speaker settings. Once you do this however, you'll find that the bass levels are somewhat low ( but better than without bass redirection ).
Perhaps you should have a look a this thread:
    http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=soundblaster&message.id=8533&view =by_date_ascending&page=
Basically currently only the X-Fi family with its +5dB subwoofer boost in bass redirection mode will generate a decent subwoofer channel.
Once you enable surround mixer, you could add a +0dB subwoofer volume level boost on yer receiver ( assuming yer receiver has this option )

  • Sound blaster Upmixed surround sound Vs Home Theatre syste

Is there anyone has used Sound Blaster (any kind) to Upmix the stereo sound to surround (5.,6. or 7.) by hooking up to the home theatre system? Please help tell me the surround sound of which one (by using Sound Blaster upmixing or Home theatre system's) is better?

Not quite sure what your asking but here goes anyway, 7. is obviously the better due to having 7speakers and a sub which equals more channels, more speakers, greter effects.
If you have a creative home theatre that is 7. such as 'Creative GigaWorks S750' and your sound card doesnt support 7. then the theatre system does allow you to upmix 5. or 6. to 7., but this is not as good as having true 7. because for example if you watch a movie that has 7. surround sound support the sound will only be played in 5. or 6. but the theatre system will upmix it to play on all 7 speakers, to explain in more detail if the film you are watching is trying to play sound on just the middle speakers if the sound card only supports 5. then the sound will get sent to the rear speakers insted and the theater system will upmix it and send it to the middle speakers as well, which would reduce what ever sound effects it is that the movie is trying to put across. So for the best performance and entertainment value a 7. theatre system with 7. capable sound card is the best option.
    Hope this helps
