hi i purchased the xfi soundcard and the Sound Blaster X-Fi™ I/O Console came with it as a bundle package a while back. i have yeet to figure out how to install the Sound Blaster X-Fi™ I/O Console. it seems like either im missing a cord or not installing it properly it doesnt get any power is there anyone that knows of a instructions manual so i can hook this up or someone give me the steps to instslal it thanks the sound card works fine btw

I have Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 Pro Usb connected analog with Creative Inspire 5200 (5.1). Operating system Win8.1 with full updated. When I watching DVD etc 5.1 sound-everything is ok. But if i listen stereo music, there are 3 channels work that Front right,left and Center. This is not enough satisfy me.
On the other hand, when i watching something on youtube, there are 4 channels work (Front Right/Left&Rear Right/Left) which is better.
Which settings fix my problem for 4 channels listening stereo?

Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 problems with surround

Hello,
I've problems connecting Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5. to my home theater Panasonic PT860 through?optic cable. All that I'm receiving is 2. sound.. BTW, OS is Windows 7. I've tried reinstalling OS, tried to change drivers and so on. Now I think that's is not possible to have 5. sound with my current configuration but maybe You can help me. Someone?

Hi.
You can only play stereo audio through optical output for uncompressed audio format. To be able to play more than stereo through optical, you need to be playing compressed audio (dolby/dts). Creative sound blaster 5.1 vx model SB1071 problem

i bought sb07 and i installed it correctly . my problem is that the maximum sound of this product is low and its sound is almost half of my onboard sound card. i tested it in 2 computer and i still have this problem.

Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Drive Bay Problem/Remote Control Probl

Yesterday I have received my X-Fi Platinum sound card.
The sound card works fine.
I see a red light in my dri've bay so I am assuming there is power.
The problem is that when I plug in headphones it does not work.
The remote control does not work either. Is there supposed to be a light when i press something on it's?
Also people tell me to enable it in Entertainment Center Settings but it wont let me.
When I open the program it pops up " Unable to find working IR device".
Also when i get in the program it wont let me check the box that says " enable remote control". It is just grayed out and wont let me click.
Can someone please help me.

Okay, I've got it running (almost):
I did uninstall all Creative apps and drivers.
After a reboot, I did run the Registry Cleaner of Tuneup (http://www.tune-up.com/)for several times.
In addition, I did manually delete ALL creative entries in the registry with "regedit".
I did also found some running tasks for my onboard RealTek soundcard, I thought they have been uninstalled already, did kill the tasks and deleted the related programms in the Windows folder (soundman.exe).
After another reboot, I did run the installation from the CD again - the Entertainment Center is running.
ONLY PROBLEM LEFT: All options are working, except in "Music". All options except the last one (Workplace) to browse folders, are crashing the Entertainment Center.
When I select Artist, Album, Genre, the EC seems to look for files on my HD and shuts down after a while.
Maybe my database/music folder is to large (+ 5000 titles, my complete CD collection as WMA files).
I'm running a German OS, so I'm not 00% sure if the mentioned folders/options are correct translated.

Ad-link cable for Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic and Sound Blaster X-Fi I/O Consol

I have both, new pc came with sound card and bought console over ebay which came without cable to connect the two. Can anyone help to locate the missing ad link cable? Have spoken to Creative tech support and they say they don't stock any. Maybe someone has one lying around?!?! Have an audigy zs platinum pro fully funtional with hub to swap or sell.

On the control pod for the speakers, just press the input button until it reads "Direct" on the display. then the same goes for the effect button, press it until the effect is "Direct" from there you can run the Creative diagnostics and do the speaker test so you can make sure you have them pluged in correctly. then mess with the effects however you like

Windows don't see my Sound Blaster card after moving it to a different PCI sl

My sound blaster card was working properly during year, but... [color="#ff0000"]when I changed it to a different PCI slot inside my PC (the card was removed from one PCI slot to a different one)... then Windows Vista is unable to find the card, and is not listed in the device manager... so I cannot play sound, because the card is not recognized by Windows Vista
In Windows Vista, in the device manager, all devices seems to work fine. I dont find yellow triangles neither question marks. The problem is the Sound Blaster XF-I Extreme Music card dont appear in the sound, video and game controllers list.
If I try to run the Creative Console... says it don't detect my card.
All this happened when I moved it to a different PCI slot, before this, the sound card was working fine
Consequently, I don't have sound and cannot play music.
A friend told me that perhaps it could be a very good idea uninstall the drivers and installing them again... but also I DON'T KNOW HOW TO UNINSTALL THE DRIVERS, because when I was searching in the control panel, programs... I don't see any reference to "creative drivers" or "sound blaster drivers"
The only I see are three entries...
Creative Sound Blaster properties...
The console (Creative Sound Blaster console)
And the initiator (Creative Console Initiator)
But I dont find any reference to the drivers... :smileysurprised:

Remember that Creative Recommend to uninstall the drivers the following:
To uninstall the driver, do the following:
Click Start -> All Programs -> Control Panel.<
Double-click the Device Manager icon.<

But also remember that I don't have that entry in the device manager, because Windows is not recognizing the card... so the situation is I have the drivers loaded in my Windows Vista... but I don't have that entry in the device manager list... so consequently I don't know where are the drivers to uninstall them, and again, install them... so I cannot uninstall and doing a clean installation afterwards.

Yes, moving folder trees by dragging them in folder view to 'shortcut' unwanted subfolder stages is ok. I don't like it very much because I don't know what would happen if you had a power shortage during the process... But if you have still the backup, that would be good. For a big catalog, be patient, but there would be no need to reconnect.

What's the model number of your soundcard? Certain series of Sound Blaster doesn't support adjusting bass and treble so you have to use the Graphic Equalizer software instead to adjust it.

Sound Blaster Extreme Music do not detect changes on the console

I'm using the sound blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic with Logitech Z-5500 and the Flexi Jack, connected on Digital mode (Using Coaxial and Optical). The OS? Is Windows Vista Ultimate 32 Bits.
The problem at this moment is that I can not make any change on the console configuration, I mean, if I change the speaker connection or change any parameter of the configuration has no reaction,I even change the EAX effects, the CMSS-3D ad nothing happen, all that I can control with the console launcher is the volume.
I reinstall the drivers and download from the website the latest drivers I found and same problem.
?Any help?

Choose Soundblaster in the dropdown box and you will see XFi listed , you will find the latest drivers there....Seems rather strange to me since this is a XFi card, but hey I did not design the Website......

Problem: Sound Blaster Arena Surround USB Gaming Headset

I have one of these Sound Blaster Arena Surround USB Gaming Headset, which are 7..
I have Windows 7 as OS on my computer and it gives me a few problems.
W7 recognises the headset as a "Stereo" headset. The headset has a Sound Card of it's own and uses the drivers that come with the Installation CD for Surround settings that are mad in Audio Control Panel or Creative Entertainment Console.
This is a problem.
For example. Playing Call of Duty 5: World at War.
The audio settings on this game, always (and is unchangeable) goes after the default Audio Device. And then it recognises my Headset. And puts in STEREO config. Since it was W7 recognises, and I cant change that on the game and neither on the Audio Settings on the computer. Which make the subwoffer and Surround effects useless which is a hard bummer, since it's such an awesome headset and is totally awesome when i play Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
I really want to know how I can fix this! Please help me. Any settings or special config in the cfg files you can do on Call of Duty 5 or and settings or stuff I can do to change so W7 recognises my headset with the 7.!

Creative sound blaster Z Khz and Format problems giving no more sound

Hi there.
First off let me say that i know little to none about audio, so i'm not a audiofile.
Second i have some qeustions/problems with mij Creative z soundblaster and hoped someone else has tackeld these problems and is willing to teach how to setup this sound blaster.
I'm using a Creative soudblaster z that is hooked up thourgh a toshlink cable to mij Logitech speaker set (z550) and till today al was working just fine!
But i recently read something about the (i hope i say this right) Sample rates or KHZ that can improve mij Sound quality, so i read thath the blaser z can handle up to 128 Khz or something... so i thought let's give that a try!
So in windows when right click on the speaker icon i got to playback devices and there i find 2 icons a SPDIF- Out and the Speakers icon of the creative z sound blaster.
So i went to Speakers and changed the Default format( default is 24bit, 48000) to 24 Bit, 96000 (Hz studio quality).
After this change i rebooted the computer and after the reboot al sounds where working!
So after that i decided to got The Spdif-out and go to the Supported formats page, here i unchecked the 48.0 Khz box and checked the 96.0 Khz box.
Also under Advance i changed the default format to 2 channel, 24 Bit, 96000 HZ.
Now when i pres the test button EVERYTHING WORKS, when i run the windows speaker setup thiny al 5.1 speakers react the way they supposed to react.
But when playing music or video there is no sound!
Everytime i reboot windows and start up Aimp to listen to some music, the music wil play but there is no sound! When aimp is playing and i w8 for like 5 to 10 minuts the Decoder light on mij speaker console will light up and then i will hear sound!
Normaly when i reboot windows the decoder light starts glowing imediatly now i either must w8 (this might tak hours somethime) or i go the sounds configuration and after pressing let's say 20x time the test souns button the sound start working for no reason!
So is there anyon who has these problems (oh yeah deinstalled and reinstalled driver 4 time by now so it aint the driver or mij speaker because mij ps3 aswel as mij ps4 work properly and do give me sound) or better yet know how to resolve this isseu!
Or did i not configurate the sound settings well ? please inform how i need to set them.
And oh yeah Like i said i'm no audiofile, but as far as i understand the BOX the creative z comes in, it tells me i can go up to 128 KHZ so... the 98khz Should not be the problem, the sound card should be able to do this ? right !?

Set your SPDIF to default settings. The Logitech speakers will be doing all of the work DECODING what you are outputting to it with your sound card. The SPDIF is strictly digital. The setting in your "speaker" option sets up the Analog to digital conversion bit depth and sample rates. With dolby digital and DTS connect though those will output at 16 bit, 48 khz. If you were connecting to your logitech speakers with the three analog cables (green-front left and right, Black-rear left and right, and yellow-center and surround) then your setting choices in the 'speakers" applet of control panel, sounds would have an effect on downsampling, upsampling, and output quality.
Lastly, make sure to right click on the Speakers icon in the sound control panel applet and choose "set as default."

Vista drivers problems Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Noteb

First thing to do: haveyour systemchecked out, if windows says the hardware is failing there may really be something wrong with it.
If the SB card works in an XP machine there may be a problem in the the PCI slot or controller on the motherboard, either way have a tech shop look at it. I have a Sony VAIO VGN-SZ430N/B notebook, and I'm trying to install Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook on it (Unfortunately, the notebook came with windows vista business from factory).
This notebook has a Texas Instruments PCMCIA controller.
Under "Device Manager" the PCMCIA controller is described as "Texas
Instruments PCI-8x2/7x2/6x2 CardBus Controller", but on Sony's
webpage the driver that seems to be related to it is "Texas
Instruments PCI74 Integrated FlashMedia Controller Driver".
It is kind of all in one solution from Texas Instruments (PCMCIA

2)I've already brought this notebook to Sony's support service, so they could verify if there is any kind of hardware problem with the notebook. Sony's technician wasn't able to find any hardware problems on it, but I'm experiencing the problem described below:
2.)Every time that I plug this sound card on my notebook, and I try to install Creative's latest windows Vista drivers(Creative Sound Blaster Audigy series Vista Driver 2.2.0002), thus It leads me to a Blue Screen during the driver installation process. Please, Does somebody know what could be this problem root causeIt is very weird, even if i try to install this sound card on clean windows vista install, then it leads me to blue screen. Besides, I have another PCMCIA card from another manufacturer, and I was able to install its windows vista drivers with no problem.(It sounds that Creative labs' vista drivers is the problem root cause as I've tested this sound card on a different notebook with windows xp and It worked fine).
3)Does anyone know if creative is planning to release a windows vista driver that allows the users to use all of this sound card featuresSo far the latest driver available doesn't support even DVD-Audio. Have creative labs discontinued this product

The best advice I can give is to fully remove ALL Creative software.We've compiled a list of entries that will cause problems here. The 2.2.0002 drivers are really, really awful, 99% of people I've spoken to had problems with them. I personally like 2.5.0002 Hope this helps.

If you have 2 Speakers or headphones do this: run the KX mixer (tray) and click Speaker setting (the icon with "?") set it to 2. and in Surround set COPY. Gee, I think it's catching on. I was VERY dissapointed when I wasted my money on the SB Li've! 24bit PCI. That card apparently isn't a Li've! card, it's got a different chipset. It performs horribly with games and there are no other drivers to use for it. Not even the Audigy 2 hack and the kX audo project will work with it. This is like the **bleep** child of all Sound Blasters. No support, no reasonable performance, and horrible drivers. I just joined this forum today and this is the 5th topic related to SB Li've! 24 bit issues that I've seen yet. And what does creative take into initiati've about it's Nothing. In order to keep the good behavior here (I`m really pissed off !) I just?want to tell you something (this is ESPECIALLY for all the guys from the stuff)?Before 2 days I`ve decided to buy a new sound system for my room. I bought myself Creative Inspire t600 5. surround system. Cool. I was very happy. I?needed only to buy a sound card?working with 5. because I have a notebook DELL INSPIRON 50 who has only 2 canals. So in order to be everything beautiful I gave $70 for Usb sound blaster 24-Bit external. And from that time the problems began. In short :? I was using Vista but I found out that it wont work with this soundcard. The first problem : Didn`t identify the device. I tried with several drivers... Nope. No sound card with Vista.(This problem seems to appearance with many owners like me)?I pluged the usb soundcard in my old pc running XP and it worked . PERFECTLY. So I removed Vista from my notebook and intalled XP. This took me whole day to rebuild all my software. Finally it left to set up the sound drivers. The cherry of the icecream. Aaaaand ..... **bleep**. When I play?any track it CRACKLES. Again problem appearanced with many here.
