Sound Blaster X-fi Titanium PCI Express Probelm

I've tried support like the forum suggests but nothing ever happened, so I misewell post here and hope for the best.
I have had nothing but problems ever since I installed the card. My main problem is that for some reason whenever I am on say teamspeak, ventrilo, or searching the web my sound goes out randomly. Now, If i open up windows media player i can still listen to music and all that. The only thing that seems to get affected from the sound going out is the three things I just listed. Now, to fix the problem I have to open up my volume panel and switch the mode from gaming to entertainment and than back to gaming. Also, randomly after a restart it won't recognize the soundcard, ill have to pull it out and put it back in the slot for it to actually pick it up. But that only happens maybe once a week. The sound going out happens multiple times a day.
Ohh by the way, all the drivers are up to date.

this happened to me when I put the card in a slot that shares with my network card. I have a network card that is integrated with my motherboard but it does share resources with my first PCIX slot. you can put your card in another slot and it will work, whether that slot be a X, X4, X8 or X6 slot. Try removing the drivers only for the card first, shutdown, and switch slots, let the card be redetected, and then reinstall your drivers. The card showed up for me fine where it was, but it did drop out, per se, several times, until I shuffled slots.

Thanks for the update although this I had personally worked this out myself. Surely this card is to be released globally soon as it has started to pop up in stores available for pre-order. Any ideas on the release date and what will be the differences?
I have tried to compare it to the <span class="text">Fatalty version to find no difference other than cosmetic. I even went into the FAQ page only to get this:
[url="http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=54538">X-Fi Titanium Professional Audio vs. X-Fi Titanium Fataty series[/url]X-Fi Titanium Professional series is targeted for audiophiles while X-Fi Titanium Fatalty series are targeted for gamers.
I am sorry but I seriously do not find that helpful in the least bit.

  • X-Fi Titanium PCI-Express: Are there Cracking & Popping issues with Battlefield 2 & 214

Ok, now Creative came out with X-Fi Titanium PCI-Express, which supposedly should fix the cracking and popping issues with Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 232 since Creative technical support said the probelm with X-Fi and Battlefield series lied in PCI bus. Now the new audio card is using PCI-E bus. So does anyone with X-Fi Titanium still hearing the cracking and popping sounds when artillery fires?

RB30, Do you also have the problem with your onboard audio?
I can only give you my experience and that is that the new titanium works in my set up and I do not have any popping issues in BF242. There are lots of hassles installing the drivers as detailed in other posts. Plus they treat the drivers like they are the crown jewels and do not have them for download on the web site.
The sound seems to be better than my onboard audio. Objects closer seem close and objects far away seem far away. I had an XtremeMusic card but I took it out since a problem always seemed to develop.
I did not see any noticable increase in performance but that may be due to the fact that the performance in my system seems to be video card limited and not cpu limited.
The EAX simulated 3D sound is excellent in BF242.
Here are my system specs. I could not tell if you have Vista 64 or 32. My system is 64 and it works.

  • X-Fi Titanium PCI Express front pannel connection not working

<font face="verdana, geneva" size="3">I can not get any signal to or from the front pannel connector of my X-Fi Titanium PCI Express. (The rear jacks are working fine.)
<font face="verdana, geneva" size="3">The front header cable from my Antec P-80B worked perfectly with my onboard motherboard sound. Now that I have it connected to my X-Fi I get nothing from the jacks on the front of my case. (The onboard sound is disabled in my BIOS.)? I've double and tripple checked the connection and it is properly keyed and fitted. Is there a step or a setting that I'm missing somewhere to get this working? Can anyone confirm that the front pannel connection is acti've on the X-Fi Titanium PCI Express?

Re: X-Fi Titanium PCI Express front pannel connection not working? I was truly hoping that would help and I wanted to give you some additional hope. I have a coolermaster case, and it has the AC97 jack on the inside with all my other other front panel connectors for hard dri've activity light, reset, and power on. Three inches down from the AC97 jack, the INTEL HD *which works beautifully with the X-FI, only differs by three wires in different locations and the two pinouts configurations match those of the INTEL site identically.
Please tell me what happens as I would like to post a step by step guide for the others here in the forum. You will know when you have successfully adapted the connector because in VISTA and Windows 7, your sound applet in control panel will have a display of the connectors "lit up" when they are successfully connected. Mine shows FP microphone in the applet when its plugged in, and grayed out when its not. Its great for telling if I am connected on the rear of the soundcard of the front.
    Best of luck and .......

  • Windows 7 64bit and Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium - No rear sound

As the title says I have a sound blaster x-fi titanium running on a windows 7 64bit box. I have downloaded all the latest drivers and tools from creative. The issue is no matter what I do I cannot get the 5. surround working. I have the front 3 speakers working and I can even get it to double the two front side speakers to the rear, but not true 5.. I have tried both DD li've and DTS. I have an Onkyo HT-R550 receiver that supports both DD and DTS and I'm connected over a digital optical cable. Trying to figure this one out!
I've gone through all the modes in the creative audio software and tried all the surround modes on the receiver.
    Please help

Ok. I have actually formatted my hard dri've to fix another windows and I'm back where I was. I'm testing using the speaker page in the console. I get great sound from all 3 front speakers and my sub. What I've found when clicking the back two I will get a very quiet but clear test voice through both rear speakers, no matter which side I picked. Also the bass portion of the test comes through the sub as normal. I can't seem to get the rear speakers to test any louder.
I did the surround sound speaker test and it all sounds good (without the PC involved). Also my PS3 plays great surround sound through it using the same optical cable.
I also tried your suggestion with no improvement.
    What's next?

  • X-Fi Titanium PCI Express and DVD-A Player

*X-Fi Titanium PCI Express and DVD-A Playerg Hi Guys
Can anyone tell me if the Creative Mediasource DVD-A player works with the X-Fi Titanium PCI-E card under Windows 7, or indeed, at all. I've just bought a Titanium card and when I try to install the DVD-A player (latest version....) I get a message, 'Set up can't find any supported product...' That wouild be a bummer as I have a fair number of DVD-A discs and I would like to play them on my PC. I know that Power DVD 8 Ultra will play them but does it downmix the audio streams or something like that. I have a Pioneer DVD-A player but it is more convenient to play them this way if it is possible. I laso have Windows Vista so if it's only a problem with the OS that would be a start.
Anyway, any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you in anticipation
    Best Regards

    Hi Guys
Many, many thanks for all your help with this.....NOT!!!!
I really hate it when you come to forum to ask for help and everybody fecking ignores you....was the question too hard for you. I thought it was really simple, does the DVD-A player work with this card under this OS or not. I at least thought some of the Creative mods might help, I've just spent my hard earned cash on this card after all. As it is an X-Fi card I thought the DVD-A player would work okay but it doesn't so maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't know because I didn't get an answer.
    Thanks a whole bunch guys

  • Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium

What kind of idiots run creative, I thought I would give Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium a try what a mistake. The help on this web site is crap. Try to get a manual u cant. Then the stupig how to when you hit disagree it has a problem. Nothing works including the card. I would whip a creative mother**bleep**ers ass. And I will register over and over just to post this.
JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK JUNK

Did u try the manual? It does not work the chm file. I am not an idiot I have at least 9 computers in the house at this time. I delivered 3 boxes of parts to the local high school. Thos is the biggest POS computer hardware that I have ever purchased. My last three cards that I had workrd flawlessly. Turtle Beach DDL and the generic VIA chipset that comes with the MB. It is working but is creating way to much lag in Quake 3 the only game I play.
Its a shame some guy hacked the creative drivers and made them better. Shows you what kind of talent creative has or the lack of. I would not buy another creative product as long as I live and I buy a lot of pc parts. I am fixing to uninstall this card and would love to shove it up Fatilitys ass. The guy made it on quake and his name is on a POS that causes the system to lag. Not to say what kind of crap creative wants you to install. Why not just a clean drive with a console? To simple I guess.
Let me know if you get the manual to load. I would like to have it downloaded to refrence but thats to simple for the creative idiots. I can no longer keep paper copies of manuals I keep them on the pc for refrence. Seriously try the manual. It opens and the directory is there but know data in the main area. What a joke.

  • Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium & Audigy 2 Platium

I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium that I replaced a Audigy 2 Platium with and was wondering if I could us the Audigy 2 5.25" dri've with the X-Fi card?? They have both have the 40pin ribbon connector but I wanted to make sure before I did it.
    Thanks!

Yes you can. I actually used the very first li've dri've or I/O bay with my Audigy 2 and my Fatality Pro. In some cases not all features will work, such as the older style midi in and out ports found on some bays, but everything else will work.

  • Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium stopped working

If anyone can please help me fix this that would be great
Specs: Windows 7 64bit, Steel Series 5Hv2, Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium, need more info let me know
It worked perfect when I got the pc built 4 months ago then just the other day when I tried to run skype it didn't work with skype so I messed with settings now the mic just doesn't work at all, I've done a ssytem restore, I've reformated, updated the drivers, put settings to default, I even let Dell look and they couldn't figure it out, I check the plugs and it's in the mic in part, how could this happen it worked perfectly before. If anyone has any clue how to get windows 7 to read the mic from the sound card?

So out of the 22 people who looked at my post none of you know how to help me get my mic working, that's pretty cool

  • Can breakaway box from Audigy Platinum eX connect to Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD?

I have been happily using the Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum eX for a decade or so but it is now time to build a new box. The Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD seems to be the card for me and it does have a multi-pin connection that seems to match the one on the legacy card. The legacy card has the best external box I have yet seen, the perfect combination of inputs, outputs, and controls and I would dearly love to keep using it. Does anyone know if the two items are compatible?

Thanks, I was afraid that might be the case. Would the legacy card work with Windows 7 perhaps or has the audio stack changed too drastically from Windows XP to Windows 7? I am loathe to give up this breakaway box, I have never seen another with this many i/o ports and features.

  • Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series and Win 7 64Bit

Now that Win 7 SP is out, i am planning on moving over to the Win 7 64Bit OS.
Whats the best way to setup Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Champion Series card software setup.
Is there a DVD i could download or be sent for Win 7.
Whats the best way to proceed...
    Thanks
    red

    OK I got it!!
I put in a Price Alert at the egg and got it for 09.00/with FREE shipping so I'm stoked!! it DOES have a yellow sticker on the box that says "works with Windows 7" so I guess this is all I need.
Are there ANY suggestions on how to go about installing this in Windows 7 64bit, I want the front panel to work and will use it for movies music and mostly gaming.
what about Windows 7 installing the card as a standard sound device at boot, is there a way to prevent this if not how is this fixed?
Should I use the newest beta drivers? or wait till I see if I have any problems with the sound not working?
what about the user made drivers I have seen around these forums, I know they are most likely not supported but how about functionality? would they be better?
    thanks for any suggestions.

  • X-FI Titanium pci-express MIDI connec

Hi to everyone. I want to buy a great pci-express sound card and this Creative X-FI Titanium Fatalty Pci-Express is interesting. But i need Midi connector for my musical works; i have the old db5-to-midi cable and the internal db5 bracket. Is this board compatible with this connectors or have other connections? I don't want to buy a usb-midi or i/o module; other pci-e boards have midi or have compatibility to db5 bracket, so i only want to know if x-fi titanium is the same or is a bad board for this. Thanks.

  • Sound Blaster Live 24-bit PCI Sound Card and Creative Sound Blaster PCI Card not detect

Ok here is my problem. I bought a Creative Sound Blaster PCI sound card a while back and it was working fine but recently when I would boot up my computer and try to play music say off of Winamp it says Bad DirectSound Driver. When I check device manager it shows no sound card there and in sounds and audio devices it says no audio device. Now my brother believed this to be a card fault so we went to Frys and bought a Sound Blaster Li've 24-bit PCI card. I uninstalled the old drivers and installed this new one but yet it's the same problem. My assumption was that Windows XP had something conflicting so I reinstalled the OS. It found the card and I installed the latest drivers?off of this site but now it does the same thing yet again with a fresh install of Windows XP. The card has been in all 3 of my PCI slots and it will detect it for a moment but then acts like as if the card was never installed. Like I never installed a sound card into the computer. The onboard audio has been disabled for a while now but I do not know what the problem could be. I did Scan for hardware changes but it doesn't show up. Sometimes when the card is detected if I do scan for hardware changes and the card is there it will just magically disappear from the device manager as if it was never there. Even when I try to load music and I see the card is detected it will not play the music and ends up locking up Winamp to the point that sometimes will go BSOD. Now I would really like to find out what the issue is because I am planning this weekend to swap out my motherboard with a duplicate board to see if that will end up fixing the problem but I want to find out if there is any other way to fix this issue. Thank you.Message Edited by AuXoIs on 02-25-200808:28 PM

Hmm what other options is there for the bios on PCI slots? Also anything you connect to the motherboard can have oxidization (I think its that) build up on the connection. Check the connector on the card and get a eraser (Pen eraser is better) and give it a good cleaning. The connector might have alot of build-up on it and you can see it by a dark yellowy colour. I cleaned my graphics card and ram connectors after they got alot of the build-up on them. On a older computer my graphics stopped working and this fixed it. Also I went away for a while (like a month) and came back to see that my puter didn't display anything. Opened it up and saw that the graphic card had alot of corrosion? on the card connector and in the slot. Does that if you computer is turned of for a long time. Had a heck of time trying to clean the slot out. One other thing that it could be is the sound card is faulty. I had an audigy 2 and it died a while back . It picks it up and then try and use it computer freezes and the after restart it's not there anymore. Hope it's not that problem. Hope this gives you something to go by.
