Sound Blaster X7 High Power Adapter

I'm enjoying my new X7 but I have 4 ohm speakers. I'd like to purchase the high power adapter to get the full power available, but I can't find it on the website. Does anyone know where to get it or a substitute?

Ok ... I noticed. Thanks for your patience.
The high-powered adapter is expected to be released early next year (month). You might want to hold onto the X7 for a while longer to do the upgrade. You may also find this article useful and relevant to what you plan to do.

  • Stop the sleep blinking light in lenovo g-470, whining sound from the power adapter , HEEEEEELP !!!

Hi, hope anyone can help me.
I own a lenovo b560 and a g470, the sleep light will blink when I go to sleeping mode, anyway the problem is not the light, the problem is the whining sound it produces the power adapter when the light start blinking, in both machines I hear that whining noise, but in the g470 is much louder, I don´t know if this is because I have a faulty adapter or something, the strange thing is that both adapters make the noise when I sleep the laptop, when I turn off or hibernate the whining sound disappear.
Also, I notice that the whining sound alternate in 2 types of sounds, one is high in pitch and the other lower, the high pitch is when the blinking light turn on when go to sleep and the lower pitch of the sound is when the light go off, and that is repeating until I resume the laptop, it´s very annoying, especially when I´m in a quiet room.
So my theory is that maybe somehow I can turn off the blinking light when the laptop goes to sleep and then maybe the whining sound will go away, but I don´t know, it´s only an a idea.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Verizon Westel 327W abroad - Buzzing sound from the Power Adapter ?

So I moved to Caribbean Islands for schooling and the DSL Modem from local company here was plain 1 port one. The voltage here is 220V, so I have put a transformer and then plugged my Westel 327W into 110V and it works great.
However, I am noticing a buzzing sound from within the power adapter. The adapter is running somewhat hot since I plugged it in a few days ago. Should I be concerned about this buzzing sound or is it just that its sitting on my desktop and I am noticing it now ? Its loud enough to be heard in a completely quite small room....
    Thanks

  • Sound Blaster card 'digital out' into my high-end stereo receiver?

BSound Blaster card 'digital out' into my high-end stereo receiver?A I want?to interface my iTunes music library?(all tunes in Apple Lossless file format) to my high-end sound system, using an optical (TOSLink)?cable and a "mini TOSLink adapter" that will plug into the 'digital out' jack on the Sound Blaster card in my Windows XP PC. This configuration will take advantage of the high-end DAC's in my Denon receiver.
I don't care about getting surround sound out of my PC, and I'm not a gamer. I just want hi-fi stereo music from my iTunes library.
    Will this work?Can I expect CD-quality sound?
Also, would it be worthwhile to upgrade my model SB394 sound card to a hi-fi SB card like X-Fi Xtreme Audio, or is any sound card as good as any other for simply deli'vering the digital data stream to my Denon receiver?

Firstly, is the Aux In on my board analog or digital? I'm assuming if it doesn't say "digital", it's analog; correct?......
secondly, and more importantly; the CD/Tape/Tuner/Amp thing is supposed to be used with 8 ohm speakers and do I have to worry about sending too much current to the soundcard?

any help will be appreciated, thanks.
    Aux-In is an analog port (4-pin connector/stereo).
Don't connect powered output (= speaker outputs) into soundcard but, if possible, use some low-power connection like Headphones-Out (or if possible then some line-out port).

  • Power adapter making a high pitched noise

    Hi,
I was wondering if it is normal for my power adapter to be making a high pitched noise constantly. The noise stops or lessens very briefly when the computer is doing something (i.e. switching web pages) but, otherwise, it is constant. It is a really annoying high pitched whine. If this is not normal, what can I do about it. Do I need another one? Will Applecare cover it? Thanks!

Whereas I am not sure if this is normal, I figured I'd add that I see a similar problem happening on my power adapter.
I noticed on mine that it only makes the sound when the magsafe LED is green, if it's charging the battery it does not happen.
This started only about 2 weeks ago.

  • Will it work with R500? Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-300N 600mW USB Adapter.

Hi all, new to this site and also to owning a laptop. Bought what I believe to be 2009 Thinkpad R500. It works well with windows 7 installed. I bought it  so that I could stream music in my shop connected to my stereo. I sometimes think I should have maybe save up a little more and bought a new laptop. Paid $200 for it. Anyway I was wondering if anyone could tell if the item below will work with my laptop? My thoughts are to some time in the near future to also install an outdoor wifi antenna on my house. One thing I did notice in my shop which confused me a little was when I had my laptop and my wife's laptop down in my shop, her signal strength was around 20 mbps and mine only showed 13 mbps. Any ideas to why?
Add Long Range Wi-Fi to your Computer: Whether you're using a Mac or Windows laptop or desktop PC, the UA600 attaches to an available USB port (2 USB ports for maximum performance) on your computer and provides long range Wi-Fi connectivity for connecting to your home Wi-Fi network or a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Maximum Wi-Fi Range: The internal High Power 600mW Amplifier (12x the power of standard adapters) is optimally paired with a High Power 5dBi Wi-Fi antenna to provide maximum wireless range and performance.
Simple Setup: Setup is quick and simple: Insert the installation CD, install the software and plug in the High Power USB Adapter.
Great for Power Users: The High Power USB Adapter is designed for Wi-Fi users that demand the most from their Wi-Fi networks. The UA600 features wireless data reception speeds of up to 300Mbps for streaming video, transferring large data files and other high traffic Wi-Fi activities.
Upgradable Antenna for More Wi-Fi Range: The High Power USB Adapter features a detachable antenna that can be replaced with an indoor or outdoor high gain antenna for even more Wi-Fi range or for special installation applications.
Universal Compatibility: The High Power USB Adapter works great with all 2.4GHz 802.11b/g or n wireless routers, Wi-Fi networks and manufacturers.

Your machine as it left the factory:
    P8600(2.4GHz), 2GB RAM, 160GB 5400rpm HD, 15.4in 1280x800 LCD, Intel 4500MHD, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, Fingerprint Reader, 6c Li-Ion, WinXP Pro
I'm going to take a stab in the dak that the card is Intel 5100AGN, which *should* support both bands. That's what my own R500 came with.
Depending on the amount of $$ that you want to spend on a router, there are many possible options. I'd suggest checking out the recommendations from various broadband forums.
    Good luck.

    Hi Kelvin,
I understand that you want to control pins on your serial port using LabVIEW. Since you are using Windows XP, only LabVIEW version 7.0 will be able to control the pins. The pins can be controlled by modifying the values of the access registers that windows associates with each pin. If you are using LabVIEW 7.0, then the VI's located on the Funtions >> Advanced >> Port I/O palette should help you assign values to the proper pins.

  • Hissing sound with wi-fi and power adapter connected

This is quite annoying - when the power adapter is connected and I have a w-fi connection to the internet I get intermittent 'hissing' sounds - however when I remove the lead and run off the battery this no longer happens. Does this happen to anyone else?!

What problem are you having ?
If you have the 'this iPad hasn't been backed up' message on screen and you can't remove it try a soft-resetave you tried a reset ? : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
When the iPad has restarted you can then force a backup via Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > Back Up Now

My white McBook (2008 or 2009) recently stopped turning on.  When I hook up the Magsafe power adapter, the light shows green, but the computer will not turn on, or make a sound.  I've tried the re-boot option, but nothing works.  I first thought I needed a new battery because the lights at the back are all off, but shouldn't the computer turn on once the power adapter is hooked up and the light on the Magsafe adapter shows green?  I'm a computer doofus, so please be kind.  Please advise!  Thanks in advance.

hey guys, query for you all
i have a sound blaster audigy 2 ZS (no front panel,, not platinum)
now i want to hook this up to an Amplifier - heres a link to the back of it.
    http://www.yamaha.com/YECDealerMedia/adgraphs/products/RXV400_back.jpg
what type of cable do i need to buy ? the amplifier (at this stage) is solely for the PC, so im assuming i can connect it to the 3rd input down ? (Digital input CD).. would it be some kind of 3.5mm to optical ? or 3.5mm to RCA ? is there much difference ?
if someone can hunt on www.dse.co.nz for the type of cable i require it would be REALLY appreciated, i dont expect anyone to do this however, the name of the cable required would be fine
please tell me if im totally wrong about my approach, and if i require an alternati've soundcard ?
    Thanks !

You have almost answered your own question. You will need three cables, with RCA pin plugs on one end, to connect to the multi channel inputs on the amp. The other end of the cables will need to be stereo miniplugs, for the sound card. On the card, one jack will be front left and right, the next one down will be rear left and right. I'm not familiar with your particular card, but there will be yet another jack that will use one stereo "side" for the center channel and the other side for the subwoofer. Check your sound card instructions for which jacks to use. That is the exact hookup I used when I had an Audigy card and it worked great. (I have a 7. system now, with Xfi Extreme Gamer card.) The analog inputs have always been the superior, lossless way to connect a sound card to a Home Theater type amp, such as yours and others. So many people want that seemingly nice, easy, and convinient single cable hookup to the digital input on their am
    ps.
What they don't realize is that the DD 5. encoded signal needed for that is a highly compressed, lossy signal, and thus it is not the best for most uses. Until very recently, Creative has always only out put lossless, 2 channel, digital PCM from the card's digital output. Only if the card was set to "Passthrough" could you get DD 5. over the digital output and that was only for movies using software DVD players. All other sources would be mixed-down stereo. I have always "bitten the bullet" and ran the bundle of analog cables to my system (Now eight cables) but the payback is in the best possible sound, such as what Creative wants us to hear. (Not to brag, but my system sounds totally awesome!). In any case, if you can't find cables with miniplugs on one end and RCA on the other, you should be able to find adapter cables or connectors so as to make up cables that you need. You will be rewarded for your trouble with great sound, in multichannel splendor, from all sources. The extremely low impedence output from the card will assure that you get no audiblr losses, even from long cable runs. Any movies you might want to run on your machine need to use any of the good DVD playing software such as Power DVD, etc. These "players" can be configured to have your soundcard do the decoding so you will get DD sound from movies also.
Sorry for the long-winded reply but I hope others will see this too and re-consider hooking up their systems this way instead of the digital hookup and the disappointment of only getting 2 channel sound.
    Hope this helps,
    Phil

  • HP Pavillion DV4 1123us power adapter problem

    Hi,
After using the HP Pavillion DV4 1123us for two years suddenly I noticed that the power adapter is not supplying power to the computer and it is making some not too loud repeatitive sound. I replaced the power adapter with HP 90W Smart Power Adapter which worked fine for a few weeks and then I noticed whenever I connect this to the wall outlet it makes some repeatitive chirping sound and this is also not suppying power to the computer anymore. It behaves like this even when it is not connected to the laptop which indicates that there is some problem with the adapter and not with the internal powers supply of the laptop. It is so surprising that the replacement power adapter stopped working so early.
In my home all the other laptops are working just fine and and found all of them are two pin  - only these two are three pin. Not sure if this has gota anything to do with this fault.
Any help on this matter will be highly appreciated.

  • Sound Blaster Instability - Are you affected? (Stability Test for "Squealing", et

I've created a test that works on my Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS with my particular hardware configuration as a proof of concept of the instability ( "high-pitched squealing" ) issues I have. (I have an ASUS P5N-E SLI motherboard.) I am seeking to find out if it "works" for other people with squealing issues (i.e. triggers them).
Do our problems really have common symptoms, or a common source? I hope we can find that out, and ideally this would be a step toward that.
I believe it would be helpful for people who have problems with their cards to post some system information, along with descriptions of what the problems are.
Some useful system information to post would be . Motherboard, 2. CPU, 3. Video Card, 4. Sound Card, 5. Operating System, 6. Sound Driver and version, 7. Power Supply.
.. and then whether you have problems with Snap-Crackle-Pop (SCP), High-Pitched Squealing (HPS), BSODs, or other errors.
    For example, here's my information:
    . ASUS P5N-E SLI
    2. Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
    3. ATI X800XT
    4. Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
    5. Windows XP Pro SP2
    6. Creative drivers, 5.2.4.96 (SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006)
    7. Cooler Master iGreen Power 600W
I experience HPS and BSODs. Typical times for the sound test to fail for me are between 5 seconds and 2 minutes.
Some information is better than none. It's not necessary to give complete system information if you don't know it all. But the most important information would be what motherboard you have, what sound card you have, what problems you experience (if any) and whether or not the test results in instability for you.
IMPORTANT: It's important to note that you are running this test AT YOUR OWN RISK, and while the files included don't inherently cause harm, it is possible for data corruption to occur if your system is affected by this issue.
These key files are needed in order to perform the test: a MIDI and a high-definition audio file (in this case, a high-definition (24-bit/48kHz) WAVE of near-silence). These are included in the zip file I have linked to below. According to CreativeSkeptic, MIDI playback makes high utilization of the PCI bus, so this may be why the problem is caused so easily this way.
I would be interested in hearing your results if you have experienced the high-pitched squealing in games or even if you haven't.
You can hear an example of what may happen if you experience instability [url="http://www.supload.com/listen?s=Sxfea3MfL">here[/url].
    Sound Blaster Test.zip at Wikiupload.com
    Or.. Sound_blaster_test.Zip by Bigupload.Com
(Note: The zip file is around 50KB in size, but it expands to over 42MB. This is due to the high-definition nature of the 5-minute wave file necessary to induce this problem in affected systems.)
This test will measure the stability of your Sound Blaster in your
particular system configuration. It is tested with Windows XP and
Windows Media Player , though these *may* not be essential for the
    functioning of the test.
    WARNING:
CLOSE ALL RUNNING PROGRAMS TO AVOID DATA LOSS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
    Instructions:
. Open silence.wav in Windows Media Player. To do so, you can drag it
onto the Windows Media Player shortcut in this folder.
    2. Then, open the Play Midi shortcut.
    Note:
This test will ONLY work if your system is using standard or full
hardware sound acceleration. In addition, your system must be using
your Sound Blaster as its MIDI interface directly. Software synthesizers
    will not trigger the problem.
You can tell if your system has become unstable based on the
corrupted nature of the instruments played by the MIDI. It will
begin to sound odd and unnatural, with random notes inserted
here and there. It will be clear to you that this has happened.
For me, it doesn't take more than a few minutes before the instability
    appears.
If this is the case, it is recommended that you do one of two things:
    - Press the RESET button on your computer.
    - Pull the power plug, if you have no reset button.
This is to avoid data loss associated with a blue screen of death
that would normally occur if you did not take these measures to
    prevent it.
If you do experience these stability issues, you are at risk of BSOD's
when gaming or other playback problems. Please report this in the forum.
To hear a sample case of instability, visit the following URL:

My X-Fi XtremeGamer passes this "test". No BSODs, etc. But I've discovered my computer has problems beyond sound card issues (I didn't even notice them until recently).
In other words, I've seen firsthand (whether this is true for the majority or not) that my issues with the Audigy 2 ZS don't translate exactly over to the X-Fi XtremeGamer, so if you have an X-Fi don't expect problems with this test, but by all means try if you want to see for sure.
(One problem remains from the Audigy 2 ZS, however: randomly skipping ahead in videos or certain audio streams. It doesn't happen with onboard audio, but my tendency is still to call this a system problem unrelated to the sound card because it doesn't happen on my old PC.)
(Oh, and I know I'm replying to my own post, so don't think I'm nuts. I just thought it would be appropriate to report my experience with my new card in another post.)Message Edited by sireebob on 03-27-20072:24 PM

  • Power adapter buzz?

Well, my power adapter has always buzzed....one of those high frequency sounds, or a low drone sound. However, I could only hear it if I had my ear close to the adapter. Today, for some reason, it was so loud, I heard it while playing music with earphones in my ears! well, I in between songs atleast
Anyways, as I'm typing this, it is buzzing away very loudly. Its not any hotter then it usually is, but it still sounds bad. Also, if I unplug the magsafe but leave the adapter plugged in, the buzzing stops. So its only buzzing when it is pulling power to charge. In 10:08....no wait, now its only 1:23 mins when its done charging i'll have to take notice if it stops buzzing when it is fully charged but I'm getting scared and might not leave it plugged in that long.
I am using the 3 prong grounded cord, so I know its grounded. Its plugged into a surge protector too. The same outlet I've used in the past without problem.
    Any ideas?
Should I have AppleCare replace it or is it ok?

You don't have the adapter brick sitting on some different surface from the usual, do you? Something that might resonate and amplify its normal inaudible or barely-audible sound?
If not, then it may be worth taking it into an Apple Store for evaluation.
Same spot. I did notice that moving it seems to change the sound. But then it will start buzzing loudly again all by it self. I guess i'll just have to stay alert when using it and keep an eye (or ear) on it!
I don't have any apple stores nearby (closest is 2-3hrs), but I am traveling later this month to a place that does have on in a mall. I might be able to stop by, and if so I will bring them the power adapter if it is still behaving this way.

It needs 48 VOLTS Phantom power(phantom power supplied by whatever? equipment it is plugged into..........)...........You cannot expect a soundcard to supply 48v phantom power if there is no 48volts to start with.Mixers and the like usually have "phantom power"supplies built in to power condenser mics.Soundcards also supply the power for regular headset mics and desktop pc mics via the mic socket(jack).A soundcard cannot and will not supply 48 Volts. IF I tried to connect a condenser mic(not headset or desktop)to a soundcard via a XLR connector into a stereo jack plug(adapter), where do you think the 48 Volts would come from?If a condenser mic does not have a battery inside or is not a low voltage one that takes it's power across the mic jack on a soundcard then it aint gonna work. How do you think a headset or desktop mic works?on fresh air?It takes enough power(volts)from across the power rail that supplies the soundcard.
