Sound Blaster ZXR Creative Audio Control panel

Hi. I bought a soundblaster ZXR. I uninstalled the driver for the old sound blaster X-Fi card, then shut off my computer and installed the ZXR card (which fits into a different slot than the X-Fi did), then restarted the computer and installed the software for the ZXR.
My situation is as follows: when I click on the Creative Audio Control panel, I get a message saying "The audio device supported by this application is not detected". I looked thru the internet and the general advice seems to be that the software for the older X-Fi card is not easily removed, and to remove it, I should uninstall the ZXR software, remove the ZXR card, re-install the old X-Fi card, then use some rather advanced techniques to make sure all of the software for the X-Fi card is uninstalled, then turn off the computer and take out the X-Fi card, then install the ZXR card, and re-install the software for the ZXR card. With some reluctance, I was about to do that, but then I noticed a folder called Sound Blaster Z Series was installed, so I opened it and clicked on Sound Blaster Z Series Control Panel, and a program opened up which allows me to make some changes to my sound set up.
My question is - When I click on the Creative Audio Control panel, am I supposed to get a message saying "The audio device supported by this application is not detected", because the Sound Blaster Z Series Control Panel is taking it's place? ...or does that error message tell me that there's something that I should address to avoid any future problems. I want to learn how to work with various sound programs, like sound forge, cakewalk, acid pro, kontakt, etc. and I want to start with a proper setup to help me avoid any unneeded frustrations. I have a fairly new computer with an ASUS P8H77 motherboard. Under Device Manager - Sound, Video and game controllers, I have the following entries:
High Definition Audio Device
Sound Blaster Audio Controller
Sound Blaster ZxR
Sound Blaster ZxR DBpro
I right clicked the High Definition Audio Device, then disabled it, but that didn't help so I enabled it again.
Thanks.

The Creative Audio Control Panel is a single entry leftover from your old X-FI. Uninstall just that. Then you can make a shortcut to the other you were speaking off and put that shortcut wherever you wish. I uninstalled an X-FI before and I had that control panel left over even after uninstalling what I thought was everything.

  • Need help removing Creative Audio Control Panel

So I've been trying to get the Creative Consol Launcher to work with my soundcard again and found that in my "Programs and Features" list in windows 7 there is one item of Creative labs software that I can not remove. It is called "Creative Audio Control Panel" and when I attempt to uninstall it it tells me "C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallSheild Installation Information\{7E96A7F-AFE3-47-87B-583E37639E8}\SUPPORT.Cab not found."
Whenever I try to use the Creative Console Launcher it tells me "There are no supported audio device[sic] available. You need to close the application. Click OK to close the application now."? I assume it's trying to launch Creative Audio Control Panel which for some reason or other is no longer present on my system but was never properly uninstalled. Also, great work on that error message - seems like Creative needs more proof readers.
In other words it seems the file I need in order to uninstall this broken program is missing - any idea what I should do? I've tried seeing if I can reinstall the program but I can't find any setup file for it online - all I can find is "Creative Console Launcher" which seems to intigrate a launcher feature into volpannel, but since it doesn't have the Creative Audio Control Panel to actualy launch it just gives me error messages if I want to get into my EAX settings or mixer or anything like that. If anyone knows how I can uninstall/reinstlal this program (in windows 7) I'ld be very greatful.

Well I believe I have found a solution to my problem and it is manyfold so here goes.
First off, Creative Customer Support Americas corresponded with me via e-mail and notified me that there are known issues with all PCI cards and Creative Audio Consol in Windows 7 (which is to say they don't work together at all).
After getting this info I removed my SB 0790 card and plugged in another one I had handy - it's still a SB X-FI Xtreme Audio but this one is has a PCIe interface and a digital audio in/out jack on the back to boot - this card is manufactured not by Creative but by MSI (licenced I assume) and came with my motherboard (good thing I had it laying around).
Initialy I had the same issue - even uninstalling everything related to creative and re-installing the hotest newest drivers from the site simply wouldn't resolve the issue. Finaly I downloaded a 3rd party program called CCleaner - a freeware utility that can clean up registry errors and delete items off the program list by force if need be (and it was in this case). I used that to completely eradicate Creative Audio Console and Creative Console Launcher, re-installed the latest drivers and audio pack for the PCIe card, and then even had windows update the driver again after that (the result of which was not a new driver version but it did seem to download and install something - no clue what). After all of that I once again had a functioning version of Creative Audio Consol back on my computer - and now it recognizes that I have a valid card installed and I've got access to all the features I was missing. The interface for Creative Audio Console looks a bit different than it used to (no longer a fake looking stero but instead a fairly plane interface) but whatever it's working and that's what I care about.
Oddly enough with all those installs it never put Volume Panel or Creative Consol Launcher back on my computer, I wound up having to install those off of the MSI card's driver disk to get easy access to the Creative Audio Panel again (otherwise I'd have to either make a shortcut or go straight into the install directory any time I want to launch it - now though I can launch it right through the Volum Panel).
One persistant issue still remains: In my recording audio device list I am still missing: "What U Hear" but it has been this way since I installed Windows 7 for the first time in October when it releaed, and I have given up hope on ever seeing What U hear again - If I want to record from my soundcard I have a 3rd party freeware utility called "Virtual Audio Cables" that are a bit clunky but get the job done.
    Conclusion:
Though it may claim on Creative's support page for the SB0790 (Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio) soundcard that the latest drivers support Windows 7 it is abundantly clear that this is NOT the case. You will manage to get audio out of it, but almost no other creative aplication is going to work with your card or even detect that a valid working SB card is installed. It seems the only aplication I could get working relyably was the auto updator (which was able to see I had the card installed) and Volume Panel. By the admission of Creative Customer Support America, however Creative Audio Panel will not work, and I have observed that Creative Consol Launcher does not function properly either. Indeed even plowing through the file system you'll find support only for XP and Vista versions of the drivers - there is no Win7 specific driver for either this card or it's PCIe counterpart.
Also don't expect to have access to the "What U Hear" utility - this goes for the PCIe version of the card as well. As ever, it seems the marketing guys are making claims about the card that can't actualy be backed up, sure it's techincaly illegal, but only if your customers are willing to start a class action lawsuit over a 50 dollar soundcard that sort-of works anyway.
Issue resolved for now - and I am no longer pulling my hair out in frustration.

  • Problem with Creative Audio Control Panel

) Heya, I just bought a SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio and I've encountered a problem with Creative Audio Control Panel. My OS is Win7 x64; I have installed the newest drivers for SB. The problem is that I can't set my setup for headphones. I mean I can do that and it's working untill I turn off the PC or restart the system. After that it always sets for 2/2. Speakers. Any ideas how to make this thing to remember my settings the way I want it's Thanks!

  • Audio device not detected by Creative Audio Control Panel

I cannot get creative audio control panel to work, I keep getting an error message saying the audio device supported by this application is not detected. I have had this problem using xp, vista and now windows 7. It seems to work after a reformat and clean install but will eventuslly stop working again for some reason.
I have read a few posts with people having the same problem but cannot find a solution.
It is getting quite annoying having to reformat all the time just to temporarily?fix this so if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks.

I also looked at the details of the driver and it shows a whole buch of driver, even two unsigned. Are all these neccesary? Maybe I have to many old drivers conflicting?
    Creative.jpg
Also the volume mixer seems empty, although it shows the playback device when pointing over the square, I can't select it.

  • WoW SB Tap Chat not working, not visible in Creative Audio Control Panel

I just received one of the new Sound Blaster World of Warcraft Tap Chat foot pedals and so far... it's not been a joy to use
The problem is that the device does not show up in the Audio Control panel (the creative panel) as a configurable device. I have the WoW wireless headset and it is on and active (otherwise the panel will not display). The Tap Chat is supposed to display on the list of options under Illumination, THX, Game Audio, Key Bindings and then the Tap Chat should be listed.
I'm running the latest drivers for the WoW headset (1.01.0001). Windows 7 64-bit. The audio control panel lists as version 1.00.05 (in the panel about screen).
During installation (reinstallation actually trying to fix the problem) the Tap Chat pedal is listed in the registration application, so I know it's installed correctly and IS visible to SOME creative apps (ie the registration app, not very helpful) but not the audio control panel.
I think it's either 1) the panel is an older version and does not know about the pedal (even though I've updated to the latest) or something else is fishy.
    Help welcome!
    Thanks,

I've already called your support group. They didn't even know that the product EXISTED. Nor did they have any idea what the problem is.
It's pretty obvious the problem is due to the device not being detected on 64bit systems (yes, I can see the device on a 32 bit machine).
So if anyone has Windows 7 64bit they are probably going to be sadly dissapointed with this device.
Also configuration only works if you have the WoW headset plugged in... which is really odd considering you don't need the headset to use the device once configured (you can use it anywhere without drivers since it is essentially a keyboard with only one key).

  • Creative Audio Control Panel

I have just installed Windows 7. With an update to my bios, and newest drivers from both Micorosft and my motherboards website. I installed the newest drivers from Creative for my Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio, and installed the Audio Conrol Panel. Every time i try and open the control panel I get this error below. Is anyone else having this issue. Any help would be great. Thanks in advice.
"The audio device supported by this application is not detected.
    The applicaiton will exit."
    Thanks!!

    ?Thanks for the link.
The beta Console Launcher has installed without a problem but the Audio Control Panel still isn't appearing in Window 7's Control Panel. The Console Launcher didn't install an Audio Control Panel in the Start Menu though and I thought that the Audio Control Panel was installed with the drivers rather than the Console Launcher (I could be wrong though).

    Wow,
Talk about picking the hardest solution to an easy problem.  You guys were right, it wasn't driver related at all.  It simply wasn't enabled in the system BIOS.  I never imagined that it would be disabled as a default.  I conceptualized this is Plug and Play (Which was wrong).
Thanks for the hand.  BTW, MSI help desk was clueless about this (which was surprising).
Now where was I (Starting Warcraft III),

  • Creative Sound Blaster ZxR Optical s/pDIF Surround Recording

I just downloaded and installed Audacity for Windows version 2.x.x (the latest Audacity version).
I'm recording my xbox 360 game play sound and possibly some OTA Antenna receiver Dolby 5.1 Surround through a Toslink optical cable input on the daughter card of the SB ZxR sound card.
I'm using an Intel Core i7 2600 in an Asus p8p67 deluxe running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 using the Creative Labs Sound Blaster ZxR.
It works fine for Xbox 360 dashboard System Settings, Console, Digital Audio, set to Stereo (2 channel sound), but does not when xb360 is set for Dolby Digital 5.1 output since the Audacity drop down list box for the recording device has only the options for Stereo or Mono--even when 5.1 Surround is being output by the xb360.
When the incoming audio stream of 5.1 surround is recorded by audacity, the sampled sound is a huge amount of loud almost white noise of random digital static sound.
What audio device capabilities enumeration is being used to determine if incoming AC3 multichannel digital optical signals are more than stereo since this stream could, in theory, change on the fly depending on the program material being sent by the source device?
Is this the fault of the sound card driver from Creative Labs and is being reported improperly to MS Windows intermediate level device driver layers, that are in turn reported to audacity in its enumeration of the device's input stream contents?
To see the physical appearance of the Creative Labs Sound Blaster ZxR DBpro daughter card with its gray output Toslink female socket and its black input Toslink socket, do a Google image search as follows:
"sound blaster zxr" optical in dbpro "daughter card"
    http://goo.gl/ewO6ha
Is there any way to circumvent this sad state of affairs as a temporary work around for this problem with an interim software source code revision?
Could a software layer or function be added in audacity to parse the incoming data stream to determine the streams' characteristics (possibly on the fly -- in real time)?
When in the Creative Labs SB ZxR software control for mixer, etc, I have the settings for the card sometimes set to "listen to this device" for the Optical Toslink input port, and the sound coming out of the Speaker Outputs does not get sent to the Optical Output Toslink port to go to my Dolby digital audio receiver--my default Windows sound device--so that I cannot hear any of the supposed input audio stream at all.
Why is this effective pass through functionality not working?
I have two or more Hauppauge ComputerWorks High Definition Video capture devices with Toslink optical inputs, and they work fine to capture higher level multichannel AC3 optical streams.
What is wrong with the Creative Labs Soundblaster ZxR recording capability for such streams?
Can the driver be updated to fix these problems?
I have posted a few hours ago on the Audacity software's web forums to see if anyone there has any answers as to what can be done and what is happening and what is at fault in this process...
    http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewto...p?f=46&t=84846

I noticed the following when I more closely examined the SB ZxR Mixer settings...
The Toslink / optical s/pDIF input levels, even when an AC3 surround 5.1 channel stream is being input displays level control sliders for only Left and Right channels, when there should be 6 channels.
Creative Labs Dolby is improperly being handled within both their driver and application software for the sound card, or the card itself is designed NOT to handle properly multichannel AC3 in a dynamic fashion as provided by the source optical device.
    Why?

  • Mac OS X, WoW Wireless headset Audio Control Panel

Any updates on the Audio Control panel? As far as I know no mac user has gotten it to work with the headset. The error I found and posted (emailed as well) i hope would have been a lead to fixing it. Any news would be great.

The headset works for me... but the control panel does not.
    I get this error:
None of the features work. Not EQ, not voice FX, not THX - NOTHING.
And there is no way to clean uninstall to reinstall the drivers - I am having to manually sniff around the system folder... Try and resintstall - same issue.
Is there not a Beta Driver we can try and help with?
Cause this is an expensive failure right now.

  • Beats Audio Control Panel software not working after Windows 10 upgrade.

Beats Audio Control Panel software not working after Windows 10 upgrade.  the Beats sound enhancement is useless in WIndows 10. When opening the Windows 10 sound properties  I'm getting this box message: Auido enhancement problem Windows has detected the audio enhancement for the following device are causing problems: Speakers / Headphones (IDT High Definition Audio Codec) Woud you like to disable driver enhancement for this device?  IDT High Definition Audio CodecBeats Audio Control Panel version6.10.6491.02013.11.2009:43:18 Please provide some kind of fix for this?

Well, it has been a long road on the Win 10 upgrade. At first I got the same error message as above, but after deleting the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 in Win 10 using Control Panel Programs and Features and rebooting, I got into the continual BSOD upon reboot. Here are the steps I took to at least get stable on Windows 10. First, I rolled back to Windows 8.1 using the advanced feature in the BSOD recovery options. Once back in Win 8.1, I deleted the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Then I downloaded the Win 10 update and re-installed it. Once that completed, I updated the Intel Graphics driver under the display adapters (on my G780 it is an Intel HD Graphics 4000, and the driver can be found at  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/). Currently I am running version 10.18.10.4252 for my machine. Then, under the Device Manager, I updated the Conexant SmartAudio HD driver under the Sound, video, and game controllers. That driver is currently at 8.66.4.50 and was automatically downloaded from the web when I requested to update driver.  I also changed several others settings such as Notify to schedule restart after updates are installed instead of automatic (under Settings --> Update & Security --> Advanced Options) and Do you want Windows to download driver software and realistic icons for your devices? --> No, let me choose what to do, never install driver software from Windows Update.  After that, I shut down the machine, waited a moment and booted back up. I have no idea why this helped or if it is overkill, but I am stable and running without a fear of rebooting now. Hope this helps if someone else is having this same issue.

  • Lost Beats Audio Control Panel, Windows Experience Index and HP Power Manager on fresh install...

    HP Pavilion m6-1035dx, product B5S06UA#ABA
Please help! I installed a 240gb SanDisk Extreme SSD and a fresh install of Win 7 home premium 64-bit OEM. I did not reinstall the factory OS and all that goes along with it. I have managed to reinstall all drivers (it seems) but am having the following problems: 1) I have installed IDT HD Audio Driver sp56953 but it does not provide the Beats Audio control panel, any idea how to get it? 2) The Windows Experience Index will not provide a performance evaluation, something in the system is providing it with an error message when it attempts to rate the system and it stops. 3) I have installed HP Power Manager sp57398 and can bring up the control panel but the changes I indicate will not stay applied, when I bring up Power Manager again it show that no selections are made. I knew this fresh install was going to provide headaches, please help if you can. Thanks.

I suspect this may all be related to a common cause.
When updating the windows experience index, what is the error message you receive?
Has the video card driver been installed? It is necessary for the windows experience index to complete.
Also, ensure the HP Software Framework is installed.  It is under the Software Solutions category.
You did a clean install of Windows 7. Has all the software and drivers for Windows 7 from HP been installed? Here is a link should you need it.

Yes, this is what I thought also. But I don't think it does. It has the s-bracket JSP2 connector but it (s-bracket) doesnt work.
It really doesnt matter now though as you can see I listed it on ebay with my old cpu. I will likely buy me an EPoX 8RDA+. It outperforms the 6570 in performance and has all the bells and whistles.
MSI has some horrible customer service. However, I must admit you have been very responsive and helpful but, you are not live tech suport.
I do appreciate it nonetheless.  :D
I called their support long distance number and was on hold for about 45 minutes, off and on, and the last time I was on hold I put my phone on speakerphone and went in the other room. The guy came back on said, "hello sir? Hel..Click!" I didn't have time to say anything!  I was so pissed I wanted to take my motherboard back right then. He kept having to ask other people questions about my problem. It was just plain rediculous. That is just one of the reasons this motherbaord is on ebay. I about to put my MSI Geforce4 4600 vtd on ebay also because I dont want to have to deal with MSI CS.
Thank you again, for all your help
