Sound check (volume leveling) not working newest ipod

Dear Apple community,
Thank you for your help with this problem.
I am extremely disappointed with my new iPod. I have been using iPods for 15 years. Many years ago I solved the problem with volume leveling by using a fantastic program called iVolume. I have over 25,000 songs (collected over 20 years) in my music library and I have never had a problem with the different sound levels when I play them back through my various Ipods and Iphones over the years.
Unfortunately when I recently purchased the latest generation of iPod I quickly found out that volume leveling no longer works.   The discrepancy in the sound playback is most apparent when I use the bluetooth connection but is also present even when I play through the audio jack.  I have tried turning sound check on and off, and have done a complete reboot of my ipod, and have not seen any difference.
Any help with this problem would be most appreciated.
Sincerely,
David Rojer

Nevermind I worked it out. Just had to restart iTunes. Classic IT Crowd: "Have you tried turning off and on again?". Lol.

  • Volume slider not working in ipod app

Here's an odd one - since the last update, occassionally with headphones plugged in the slider in the ipod app won't work. I can slide it, but then it goes back to max. The physical vol buttons still work, but the change isn't reflected in the slider. Anybody else see this?

Yes, I have seen this quite a bit. There are times when I am listening to music on the iPod app, when I try to move the volume slider one way, it doesn't want to move. It will move a little but not freely as to where I want it to go. To correct this, I just do a reset with both buttons. Not sure on the cause of the problem, but the reset makes the problem go away.

My IPhone's volume is not working. I have checked and tried everything. When I use my headset I can hear when phone rings or receive text msg when I pull the jack out I have no sound on anything

I had this problem with my 4s a couple of times when I'd taken the headphones out and it hasn't registered it. My solution was easy, all I had to do was turn the phone off and then on again.
Although I'm sure you've already tried this its a sometimes forgotten and very easy solution to a lot of problems. I hope you find out what's wrong.

  • Ipod 4th gen volume buttons not working. Volume bar not showing in music or video apps, not a speaker problem as this works fine when testing built in alarm tones???

Ipod 4th gen volume buttons not working. Volume bar not showing in music or video apps, not a speaker problem as this works fine when testing built in alarm tones???

Have you tried the standard fixes:
    - Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
    - Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Try:

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • My nephew's iPad volume will not work? Any clue why?

My nephew was messing with the "find my ipad" service, ended up erasing everything. i backed it up and now the volume will not work, not with the side button or even give it as an option on the music. I've checked the volume setting, the speaker work fine. I checked if he muted it some how but i can't figure out why sound won't play.

You backup but do you backup with iTunes? If you do and you have an older backup... One that existed before you erased the device.... You can try restoring from that backup. Restoring from a backup restores the previous app preferences and settings to the iPad. If you decide to try this, turn off auto sync first so that you don't inadvertently overwrite the backup.
Launch iTunes on your computer and go to Edit>Preferences>Devices, check the box at the bottom that says "Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically. You can also check in that window to see if you have any backups that predate the problem - the wiping of the iPad. if you do have a backup - Click OK. Quit iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer with the cable and launch iTunes, right click on the iPad name under devices and select Restore From Backup. Select that backup from the menu (in case you have additional or multiple backups) and restore from it. Sync with iTunes after you restore from the backup.

  • Sound on iPad is not working and I've tried all

sound on iPad is not working and I've tried all.. Someone HELP me

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

  • Volume button not working

    Hi,
i have recently purchased a nokia lumia 620 and since yesterday suddenly the volume button to increase the volume is not working
what can be done here ?
please let me know in case of any clarifications.
    thanking you,
    regards
    Arpita

Is it the same if you try without the Back cover ? If it works fine without it then put the cover back properly and check again..
Else, you may try a soft reset : Press Power + Volume(down) keys until the phone vibrates (about 8-10 seconds).

  • Is there a way I can get imessage on my iPod even though it's not the newest iPod touch, Is there a way I can get imessage on my iPod even though it's not the newest iPod touch

Is there a way I can get imessage on my iPod even though it's not the newest iPod touch, Is there a way I can get imessage on my iPod even though it's not the newest iPod touch

Hook it up to itunes and check the version. If it lists in the info that it is 5.0 or 5.0.1, then your ipod has imessage.
If it turns out that an update is available, apply the update. Check your ipod version from Settings > General > About. Anything lower than iOS 5 won't have iMessage.

  • My sound on FaceTime is not working after downloading iOS 6 ??

same issue here... And a restore didn't do any good either.
Try backing up your information to iTunes, and Restore your devices as new with no content on it what-so-ever. If the issue persists after that, this may be a hardware issue. Check your Mic's for debris, and remove the case you have on the device as well to see if you have the same results. Then contact Apple Support if all else fails.

  • My volume key not working volume increase automatically, how to mute all audio

my volume key not working, volume increase automatically if i go to audio settings i can adjust, but  again volume increase automatically , how to mute all audio

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comeback again?
If this does not boring back a working volume control, and to rule out a software issue, set it up as new device, explained here:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
If still no luck, you'll have to get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store next to your place.
