Sound Coming Through Earpiece and No Speaker

Has anyone else had this issue? Sometimes the sound switches from the speaker to the earpiece and the only way to get the sound to come out of the speaker again is to reset the phone. I've tried plugging in headphones and removing them but the sound goes from earpiece to headphones and then back to earpiece after I remove the headphones. The only solution? Reset/reboot the phone.

I have the same issue! The speaker of the new iPhone4S, out of the blue stopped working! No sound comes out of it unless you use a headphone.
I read a thousand posts and online forums and its not the problem of the audio jack.
I tried to reset and restore, and not success. I tried all the crazy ideas as turning off wifi and bluetooth and no success.
The phone never fell on the floor, I use it very little, and I take super care of the phone....
Sometimes I hear a strange noise like a interferrence noise comming out of the "not working speaker", but nothing other than that and its random when it occurs.
My last option is to send it for repair.... but WHAT IS GOING ON with the APPLE products ???
I'm starting to hate my iphone.... all my friends have Samsungs and I never heard of any issue like that with those phones!

I spoke to the reseller today and they aggred to exchanged it. They didn't elaborate on the actual cause but thought that it had to be a hardware issue.
It could either be the issue that Euvix suggested or it could be as simple as the outer speaker is simply not working.
Anesi, did you use the phone before the upgrade? Looking at what you've written I take you didn't so I would go back and get it exchanged.

Sound coming through headphones not T7700 speakers

I recently bought the T7700 speakers for my Audigy 2 ZS platinum pro and have been experiencing alot of problems trying to get them to work. All connections are correct, however there is no sound coming out of my left speaker, but all others are fine. I discovered when i plugged my headphones into the jack on the external hub that i could hear the sound coming out of there. I've tried uninstall all drivers and reinstalling but to no effect. Any suggestions?

For the other person being able to hear you echo, during a Skype call. I have included the link 'Solutions to Your Skype Echo Problem'. This link will take you through different steps of try to cancel the echo. You can also try the steps in the video 'How to fix Skype echo problems and improve call quality'. Most of the steps here a duplicates of the previous link.
The last step that I would suggest is looking into the Call Echo at Skype.com/support. This site has a lot of troubleshooting information that you can try.

In ring mode, iPhone plays all sounds. In silent mode, iPhone doesn’t ring or play alerts and other sound effects.
Important: Clock alarms, audio apps such as Music, and many games play sounds through the built-in speaker, even when iPhone is in silent mode. In some areas, the sound effects for Camera and Voice Memos are played, even if the Ring/Silent switch is set to silent.

Use Do Not Disturb. You can also silence calls, alerts, and notifications using Do Not Disturb. Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to open Control Center, then tap the Do Not Disturb button . See Do Not Disturb.

To rule out a software problem try the following:
- A reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have the problem then it is likely that the headphone jack is defective.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for:

For sound, try the audio output port and connecting to the RCA audio input ports on your Pioneer receiver. Use something like this:

Morese Code sound coming through my external speakers

Recently I've been getting Morse Code sounds coming through my external speakers. It's not all the time but at least 2-3 time a day. Any idea?

If I have my cel phone near my iMac, every now and then I get a sound that could be described as Morse code like. It has no lasting effects, so I don't worry much about it.

Any way at all to STOP sounds coming through bluetooth?

Is there any way to STOP sounds coming through my bluetooth headset? It is so incredibly distracting when I'm on a call and the stupid calendar goes off, I hear an email come in, a text message, etc.

I'm assuming you have an A2DP compatible headset. If so, see if you can disable A2DP on the headset. You can do so on the Jawbone Icon, not sure about others.
To my knowledge, there is no way to disable A2DP on the iphone itself.

Can you have sound coming out from both internal speaker and speakers connected to the iMac?

I have a pair of KRK Rokit 5 speakers connected to the headphones jack at the back of the iMac.
I use these for playing good quality sound when I need to record on Garageband.
However they are mains powered and have a switch at the back which is difficult to always turn due to the position of the speakers. At the same time I don't want to have the speakers turned on all the time.
Is there a way to enable the Mac to play sound through its onboard speaker without disconnecting the speakers' cable?
Thsi should be possible, becasue whenever I restart the Mac I can hear it s start up jingle clearly coming out from its onboard speaker, even when the external speakers are plugged in.

Unfortunately the iMac is not designed to offer that setup capability. If you go into your Applications folder>System Preferences>"Sound">here you will find that you can select the device that the iMac's sound output is sent thru (see below)>you will find that you can only select "one" device at a time to receive the audio signal, not multiple devices at once. The "startup chimes" are separate from the normal audio output and Always come from the internal speakers.

Sound is in mono and 1 speaker

hello everyone, I did an interview today and used a wireless mic with my sony pd170 video camera, when I logged in my footage it only played out of 1 speaker, is there a way to duplicate just the sound and put it on a new track so it will play out of both speakers? I'm using fcp 4.5 hd, thanks for your help

You probably captured the audio as stereo instead of mono. Since the PD170 records two mono channels, if you capture in stereo the audio source that was connected to channel 1 on the camera will be heard from the left speaker and any audio source connected to channel 2 of the camera will be heard from the right speaker (which is why you should capture in mono).
If you do have a Stereo Pair in the Timeline, highlight it and hit Option L to make them non-stereo then as Randy suggested, pan the clip to 0 to get mono (sound coming from both speakers equally).

Unwanted sound coming through after export

After completing two projects in imovie '09 I exported the projects via the export option. Upon playing the exported projects sound from the actual video comes through even though it was muted in the original iMovie project. When I play the project in iMovie it plays fine and there is no original audio coming through but as soon as I export it, the audio comes through. I have tried to export it and save it as .mov, mpeg, you name it but no matter what I do the original audio always comes through after export. Is anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions? HELP!

Thanks for the reply. The point at which the audio comes through is a clip that I have sped up; however, once the audio comes through during that clip it continues to come through on the following clips that are regular (not sped up or slowed down.) Do you think that because the clip is altered in that manner that it is corrupting the clip through export? Thanks

I just got a PC with Windows 7, home 64bit and have added CIT200 to it. All works well with one exception, the sound comes through the speakers instead of through the phone. The phone seems to work but what can I do to make the sound come through the earpiece?

Are you sure you have installed the software and drivers.
USB devices such as what you describe often need drivers or software for Windows to recognize it, and the features they have - i.e sending sound to headset at the push of a button.
It's common in the OS installs to forget such things, so I'd like you to rule this out first.
I guess the driver for the CIT200 is not compatible with Windows7..So try to run the setup in a WindowsXP compatibility mode.

Skype sound coming through speakers not headphones

Recently i got my hard drive changed, and since then skype sounds have not been coming through my headphones. people can hear me i just cant hear them as well. Its annoying since everything was working before. And the sound of youtube videos comes through fine.
so im not sure what it is.

This is really a horrible bug, because it inappropriately routes sound through the speakers that isn't even related to Skype. For example, I am listening to a radio stream and, when I receive a Skype message, that audio blasts through the speakers.
I can't imagine why Skype would design its software this way on purpose, nor why I would be required to change ANY setting in Skype to fix something that Skype broke.
