I have just noticed whilst playing music on my iphone4 that the sound doesn't  play on the left side, as if it has broken..not sure whats going on. I have tried different songs ..changed EQ but i think think is internal. This has happened recently as i noticed the change in sound straight away.

So why is it that my friend who is directly in front of me with iphone 4 and both speaker holes sound... Yet another friend next to me has same problem as me? We are covering one finger over one side and comparing. Left no sound.

  • Right speaker doesn't work at all

When i get a call, type a text/email, or listen to music only my left speaker has any output.
i know this because when i cover my left speaker the sound gets low and when i cover my right speaker nothing happens. i also tried covering just the left and then the right to se if there was any noise difference but there was not. so that means there is NO sound coming out of the right speaker.

    Ansuz82,
I didn't because I was trained on the iPhone before I ever held one.
However, my son made the same mistake.

  • High treble left vs. bassy right speaker ?

i just noticed that the let speaker plays out higher treble sounds and the right speaker carries more bass. is this suposed to be a design of the speakers so they balance out when the output balance of both is equal (ie at the centre of the left-right bar) ?
i ve pulled it to the far left and obviously the let speaker has higher frequency - treble sounds and when only the right speaker is on, i can hear the bass thumping which is missing on the left. anyone has the same experience ?

    maybe it's both

  • Crackling sound from right speaker - Envy 14 Beats edition

The right speaker on my Envy 14 Beats edition has a crackling/static sound when playing any sort of sound from it.  I assumed it was a faulty speaker since its just the right speaker..  I've talked to HP support and they had me send it in.
After two weeks I got it back only to find that they simply changed some audio configurations in an attempt to fix it.  Nothing has changed and the problem still exists.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is some sort of fix for this without me having to send it back to them to replace the speaker.

Hello tedebare73.  I understand your notebook is making a weird sound from the left speaker.
Are there any other electronic devices (guitar amplifiers, cell phones, speakers) around the notebook?  These can all cause very strange noises.
Try hard resetting the notebook as well.  Here are the steps.
    Shut down the notebook.
Remove the battery and AC power.
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds three times.
Replace the battery and AC power.
    Verify whether the problem persists.
Finally, if neither of the above have an effect try removing and reinstalling the driver.  Here are instructions.
    Go to your Device Manager.
Expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section.
Right click on your audio device and select "Uninstall."
Reboot the notebook.  Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.
    Verify whether the problem persists.
Let me know the results.  Have a wonderful day!

  • No sound in right speaker/headphon

I bought the sound blaster Audigy 2 ZS and for while everything was working well. Than day i lost sound in my right speaker than i tried my headphones but my left speaker was fine i was still getting sound from only my left speaker/headphones. Thinking i had a damaged sound card i went out and got the sound blaster li've 24 bit. After i installed it the same problem was happend. I still dont have sound in my right speaker/headphone. I tried everything i updated my drivers and even changed my sound card pci bus slot and nothing worked. Right now i have the Sound blaster li've 24 bit installed.

Hey, I've just had this same problem happen to me within the past two weeks except that it's with all my freakin' sound equipment (speakers/headphones/canalphones) and the last item happened within the past hour or so. I'm also using the Elite Pro ($375).
It first happened with my 5. Klipsch speakers ($200) and I figured it was the speakers that went bad because all I get now is a loud shrilling sound when I power up without even having to play anything. However, about a week later, my Sennheiser headphones ($80) lost sound in the left side and I figured it was a huge string of bad luck since the audio problems were slightly different. This time though, like two days later, since I gotta have my gaming and also music, I hooked up my Shure earcanals ($75) and now the left side of those has almost disappeared like my other headphones. The right is real loud like normal with both, but almost nothing in the left side and/or completely gone and sometimes I hear a crackling shrill sound similar to the speakers.
With all three of those going bad, it has to be the sound card. I swapped slots, reloaded drivers and all that, but I still have the problem. I even tested my headphones at least (not the speakers since they're bulkier) on my MP3 player, Nintendo DS, and other computer with an xtrememusic in it, and the left side of those headphones are still shot. Did the soundcard somehow disable the left sides and they can be reactivated somehow or are they now completely shot? What's up and can something be done about my sound card damaging those items? Cause now I'm PO'd as that's a lotta freakin' money. They outta be able to be replaced under the other companies warranties, but I don't want this problem to happen again if I receive them back.
    Thanks,

  • Static crackling noise, Right speaker when audio is being played

I recently purchased this Satellite C50D-A Windows 8 Laptop. I have had it for less than 3 months. Recently the right speaker has started acting up with some sort of high pitched static crackling noise whenever audio is played regardless of it being in a web browser or any other media. Even computer sounds are distorted from this. I typically use this computer for school and play music to study. How the hell can I fix this so I can actually listen to audio without this rather irritating issue?

I tried that and it didnt seem to do much of anything.
I played part of a song on spotify and recorded it to perhaps give you an example of what it sounds like?
I covered the left speaker so most of what you hear is the right speaker alone. The distortion is pretty clear when audio comes out of that speaker.

  • Does the right speaker of Ipad Air sound louder?

    Hey Guys/Girls,
    Here is my problem:
I just got my ipad Air 32gb yesterday and everything works fine, well...till I noticed that the right speaker sounded a little bit louder than the left one (it's noticeble). So now I'm confused, because now I don't know whether the problem is comming from the unbalanced speakers, or is it just the new stereo effect, which in my opinion still isn't balanced.
I'm not saying that the left speaker is not working, that one works, at least i hear sound comming from it ( I actually did a stereo-test on youtube, to make sure both of them will work, and so they did ). But whenever I do a test on it, using the sounds of the settings (Settings --> Sounds ---> Ringtones), it immediately feels like that the right speakers works much better or louder. Even during videoclips I have that unbalanced feeling.
So is there someone, anyone, experiencing this?
Or does someone know why this occurs? Defect? Should it be the way it is?
Perhaps one of you readers could test this and would share hes/her experience?
    I would be gratefull.
PS: I'm from the Netherlands so pleas don't throw me in **** if you see a grammatical mistake...Thanks

i just fixed my ipad air's muffling sound and vibration issues. this may help your balance issue as well. hope below will help you all!
go to settings > general > accessibility > go to HEARING - move the bar all the way to R
hold Power and Home buttons to restart
go back to the HEARING settings - move the bar back to the middle
Now, the speaker should sound much clearer and balance. if you want to reduce vibration, turn the bar to L or R.
    All the best. CC
P.S. Apple, please keep up the good work. too many issues lately!!!

  • EXS, Crackle in right speaker..

Getting a crackle in the right speaker when using the vibraphone sample that came with logic 8. It happens when the track is soloed, with all plug ins bypassed. It is not clipping. I've tried upping the buffers, closing and reopening, restarting, creating a new track from scratch... The noise happens when I'm sustaining a chord, and its intermittent... Driving me batty.
Any suggestions on what to do? I think its an exs thing.

Just loaded a new vibe sample using the same exs settings from the vibes that came with logic... Its no longer making the sound, so perhaps my issue is with the actual sample...
I figured that any sample that came with logic would be noise free.. could it have become corrupted somehow??

  • My Right Speaker crackles... please help!!

Ok about a week ago my right speak started making a horrible crackling noise and i was unable to play any sound out of that speaker!!! it still happens, although some sounds comes through the speaker stil randomly crackles at any time, even if volume is muted!! if i take the power cord out however it does stop! has anyone experienced this problem? my ibook is still under repair warrantly, will they fix it? is it a fault or something iv done?

It should be repaired under warranty. Apple warranty covers all hardware faults apart from those caused by accidental damage or abuse. I would suggest you need a new top case (as speakers are part of this).

  • Brand new P7800 rear right speaker not making any sound.

Things I have found from testing:
Speaker is functional in other slots.
The rear right speaker slot will work if I switch from direct sound to something else but this causes other speakers to go out.
I use the on board sound on a dfi nf4 ultra-d w/ latest drivers.
It is 8 channel audio just in case someone was going to ask.
I used an extra cable I had lying around to work around the 4 to 3 adapter to get the side speakers working.
I saw another topic about this but, no one replied to it.
My speaker setup in windows is 7.1 wide.
I tried to used the nvidia mixer utility to diagnose the problem but, no luck. However it did send noise that was suppose to go to the rear right into the rear left for some reason.
Even in 7.1 games like CS you cannot hear anything from that speaker. I held it up to my ear trust me.
I am a bit fustrated by this please help.

Yeah I was coming to that too.
    Since all the speakers worked.
There is a signal sound in the rear back one.
I really wish my friends had better computers :P
Earlier I was looking for onboard problems on google but, no avail.
    Thanks for your comment though.
I will get to the bottom of this.
