Sound cutting in and out on Macbook Pro 15 (original) when waking display
When I wake the display from sleep, any audio that was playing when the system went to sleep - or rather, the display went to sleep (ie: pandora, QT movie, etc), immediately starts to cut in and out and gets glitchy. This happens as soon as I move my mouse and get the dialogue box to enter my un/pw to wake from sleep. The only way to resolve it is to quit the application putting out the audio, and then open it up again. Once I do that, the problem goes away.
Currently running 10.6.2, but have had this problem since upgrading to Snow Leopard. I've searched the forums and can't seem to find any answers. There are a lot of vague sound issues with MBP and this is a hard one to "sum up" in the subject line. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not even quitting out the audio application prior to letting your computer sleep?
Not sure what you have already tried from searching the forums. If you have Applecare, give them a call or take your computer to an Apple store. Let the Geniuses there check it out.

I highly doubt your modem has anything to do with this because it doesn't have MoCA.However it sounds like you an original green power light Pace DVRs and they are well known to have audio dropout issues. I would replace that DVR with a different version.
Is this problem happening on a specific channel? CBS seems to be having issues lately. I am watching the CMA awards right now and I have heard the volume change a couple times but this is the only channel it is happening on which would suggest it is not Comcast's fault.

MacBook sound cuts in and out & getting a beach ball a lot.
When I try to play a video the sound either cuts in and out or just stays off. You can barely hear a small popping noise through the speakers. The chisel also lags very band making it impossible to watch, it does not matter if the video is online or on the computer itself. I also get the beach all allot even sometimes just using Word. Is there any way to fix this without wiping the hard drive?

At first I thought the quality of mp3 was the cause (as in different encoding quality) but it seemed to happen when playing DVD as well. I don't think a reboot will solve the problem for good, as it happens quite randomly. I have a sneaking suspicion that the internal speakers may be at fault. doesn't hurt to get apple to check it out while under warranty.

I am running Mainstage 3.0.3 on my MacBook Pro - 13" (early 2011), OS X 10.9.1, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and running on a Samsung 500GB SSD drive. I am plugging in a bass through an M-Audio USB Fast Track.
Using this right now simply to play along with tracks on iTunes (for practice). Used to use Garageband for this, but then I got Mainstage. Mainstage 3 was running fine when I first bought and downloaded it. Not sure what the problem is now, but when I open it and create a new concert (bass-rig) then turn the master volume up, the slider movement is choppy and the sound/signal cuts in and out (more out than in). The only time I can get sound to consistantly come out is if I click on a menu option, like File or Edit or Action, etc... if I click off the menu, the sound cuts back out and I get nothing.
Sound works perfectly fine through Garageband with the same setup.That's the model of your processor in your HP P6350z. Do you have a discrete (separate) audio card in your PC? When you purchased your PC did you add a separate audio card? If not, then go to www.realtek.com and download and install the latest audio drive for the Realtek ALC888S.

Audio streaming sound cuts in and out
While trying to listen to streaming audio, the sound cuts about every second and a half. I've played with different streaming speeds and none have corrected the problem.

MacBook Pro Freezes when waking up..
My MacBook Pro has started to freeze up, everytime I try to wake it. When ever I'm done using my Mac I simply Log Off and close the lid. When I return I open the Lid. And thats when I get the Log In screen, and the spinning beach ball. It never seems to time out. I have to do a hard reset by holding the power button. I searched the support page. And Apple's recomendation was to DL EFI update1.9 . (My Mac Book is a Mid 2010) But when I try to run it I get an error message: Software not supported by your system. Does anyone have any suggestions...

So here is how to change power management (Hybernation) to see if this fixes your problem:
You can change the way your computer hybernates from hybernatemode 3 to 0.
3 = RAM is powered on while sleeping, but RAM contents are also written to disk before sleeping. In the event of total power loss, the system enters hibernation mode automatically. The downside to this mode is that it is very slow. The upside is that it is very unlikely that you will lose any unsaved work should your mbp lose power.
0 = RAM powered on while sleeping, safe sleep disabled, and super-fast wake. The downside to this mode is that it does not save any of your work, should your mbp lose power, and you would have to remember to manually save before putting to sleep. The upside is that your computer would sleep & wake up in around 2 seconds.
Go to Terminal & type:
pmset -g | grep hibernatemode
That should give you a result of 3.
To change it to 0 type:
sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
It might ask you to enter your password.
Then delete the old sleepimage file:
cd /var/vm
sudo rm sleepimage
Just remember, saving will have to be done manually by you, -
Macbook Pro beeping when waking from sleep
I have just upgraded from Lion to Moutain Lion. Before upgrading I did all the usual disk check and stuff. But currently when my computer wakes up from sleep there is a loud beeping and black screen, I have to force shut down to use the notebook. This have happen twice. Once yesterday morning and today evening. I installed Moutain Lion on 2 Aug.

Went out left the computer on to download stuff, my notebook is always set to sleep after 1hr after I came back turn on the computer there is loud beeping had to force shut down.
Search the internet found it could be a corrupt sleep image file or ram problem. I did a memory test no problems. Therefore I accepted that it could be a once off corrupted sleep image file as I was not at home when the computer went to sleep.
After I rebooted there is this message that the computer recovered from a system problem.

Went out decided to use Deep Sleep a dashboard widget for hibernation after I came back home the computer was running and there is the lound beeping. The computer was hot so it have turn on for sometime.
There is no message that the computer recovered from a system problem this time.
But there is this existing issue even with Lion. The computer will sometimes wakeup from its sleep. I have tried clicking sleep from the menu bar and the dashboard widget both have the same problem. I tried tweaking the sleep setting after searching for this issue online. But after sometime the problem returns.
But there is no loud beeping. Just a hot computer running since the lid was close. So the problem was not an issue at first.
I have also notice before upgrading to moutain lion when I was next to the notebook and while it is still sleeping it will sometimes make the usual noise when starting up or booting from sleep. But when I open the lid it is still asleep. I think the noise is from the dvd drive not too sure.
So the issue occured before upgrading and got worst after upgrading. What should I do? I have tried looking at console but don't seem to find a clue what log file shoud I be checking?Ok I have send a request for a call back request. Hopefully I can speak to someone with a technical background and not ask me to go through a series of standard steps.
The notebook is running great no problems or issues. No kernal panic or problems booting. No traces in the log file of what went wrong. Previously in lion when the computer wakes up from sleep I could check the cause in console but as the computer now goes into beeping when waking up in moutain lion there is no traces at all. -
Can the latest and greatest 15" Macbook Pro handle 2 external displays running 2560x1440?
if so how and with what adapters?
i cannot find any concrete evidence that it can. anything i find remotely close uses an HDMI cable which is not acceptable. my 27" dell displays running 2560x1440 only have a dual link DVI and a displayport port (not mini). can this be done and with what?LarsOw36 wrote:

I would agree that you want 16GB of RAM for the work you'll be doing on the system.
As far as the processor, in my opinion, you're not going to see or feel any difference spending the bucks on a 2.6GHz processor.
Again, in my opinion, an external drive (USB 3.0) would be best to store large files. No need to spend the bucks on a larger SSD. I would buy a 1TB external USB 3.0 drive and get the base 256GB SSD in the Retina. -
Macbook Pro crashing when waking.
So from my research, I have found quite a few people with similar problems as mine, yet nothing mentioned has solved what is happening.
Now to the issue at hand:
I have a Mid 2010 Mackbook Pro 6,2. Upgraded to SSD and 8gb RAM (waited until out of warrenty, running Mavericks (fresh or loaded up with my stuff it doesnt matter. I notice that it mainly crashes pretty much every time when i bring it back from a sleep state. It also gets random crashes when I am just sitting here trying to type w/e.
What I have done:
I have done a fresh install multiple times, seemed to solve it for a little bit, I thought I narrowed it down to a pref pane I was using, but the next day it crashed.
Recently on Sun (march 2nd), I took it into the Apple Store and spoke with the Genius Bar. He ran every single test he could without me having to leave it for a Stress Test.
I specified a few tests that i have seen across Google, esp the ones for my model, seeing how my model has a know defective graphics chip (they won't replace for free anymore as I am just passed the 3 year window). Regardless, everything passed. With the exception of my battery (needs replacing, not an issue), and my RAM (was unable to test it as it's a third party).
What are some suggestions? Some may say it's my RAM, when I can assure you it's not, as I have had no issues until upgrading to Mavericks, as a lot of other people for that matter.

What I've done:
I followed the advice above and took it back in along with my panic report. They ran all the tests and I even asked to run the VST specific for my model twice. Both times, including the first time it returned with a passed status.
So I decided to bite the bullet and have it sent out to have the logic board replaced.
1 week later I got it back and brought it home. Unknowingly to me they didn't replace the logic board. I looked at the enclosed statement and seen they replaced my 3rd party RAM with stock RAM, still with 8GB along with a note stating that the RAM caused the kernel panics, (tried replacing the stock RAM before I took it in).
Needless to say is I'm getting a refund for the service that they didn't do, and as per Apple's Repair Terms and Conditions, they have to let the customer know if they deviate from the original work order.
I want to say now I just had a random panic, granted less frequent now, but still. Probably software related at this point as I have pumped my system with all of my normal stuff. Will troubleshoot and report back if it happens more. -
MacBook Pro freezes when waking from deep sleep
When I plug in my Mac to charge overnight and go to unplug it in the morning, it will make the sound it does with the CD drive and then it acts like it's coming on. the first time I use it after I've unplugged it, the screen will come on like normal and show the login screen, when it does I can't move the mouse or type my password in for a minute or two. after about 20 seconds, the screen turns off...however I can turn it back on by clicking the power button but most of the time it still won't let me enter my password or move the mouse around. I'm not sure what the problem is. but it's only been doing this since I've updated to Yosemite.
Try turning off "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" under the advanced section of the Bluetooth System Preferences. Hope this helps.

Audio cuts in and out on iPhone 4S
I have an iPhone 4S (16 GB) that is on version 6.0.1. My problem has to do with sound cutting in and out when listening to music, using apps or watching videos (audio never cuts out on actual phone calls). The issue happens both when I'm streaming online and using local programs (like apps or iTunes). The music plays anywhere from 15 to 45 seconds, then the audio cuts. The volume bar disappears and the iPhone pauses the muted music 3 to 5 seconds after. If you hit Play again, it works for about 3 to 5 seconds before cutting again and automatically pausing.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue or have heard of it reported? I noticed this issue on my device four days ago.Hey Fitz,
I was just in to the Apple Store to have the same issue looked at for my iPhone 4. Audio cutting in and out across programs, headphones or not, with the volume bar dissapearing when the problem occurred. Turns out its damage to the audio processor (evidently located near the speakers). Can be from water damage, wear and tear or as simple as dust. I had to replace mine outright, but the employee was saying sometimes they just need a cleaning. Worthwhile having it looked at.

Logic Pro X Audio cutting in and out
When I am trying to record in Logic Pro X the audio seems to cut in and out at random points.
I have a MP3 track that I am recording to and it just randomly cuts out. Even when just playing that track by itself the same thing happens though never at the same spots. If I open the MP3 in Itunes or Quicktime there is no problem with the track.
As this seriously messes with the time of the piece and makes the recording long and painful I need help.
Is there some type of connection I am missing? I am using an old Presonus Firebox as an Interface, it unfortunately has adaptors to take it from firewire to thunderbolt. Recording into a 27" Imac that is very souped up and shouldn't have any problems until I hit a hundred tracks or so and I am only trying two.It's most likely the Fusion drive, one of the symptoms is audio cutting out.

TS3367 FaceTime sound is cutting in and out
Since updating to os7 the sound on FaceTime calls is cutting in and out. I'm on iPhone 5 and the other person is on iPhone 4 , the other persons sound is fine. This only began when I updated to the new operating system.
reset all settings
settings-general-reset-reset all settings
now reconnect to wifi
settings- wifi- click network name- enter password - join
if issue persists back up and restore as new via iTunes

Surround sound receiver is causing Apple TV to cut in and out.
My Apple TV is cutting in and out and I think my Marantz surround sound receiver is causing it because when I hook Apple TV directly to the TV it works fine. I looked at my receivers owner's manual but did not find anything helpful. Any idea how to resolve it?

Check that the wifi channel is set to the same channel as on your previous router, also check the multicast rate is identical.
If the problem persists, you might also want to see if netgear have a forum or a help number and ask there. -
i just update my iphone 4s to ios 7.0.4 and update my macbook pro to ios maveric. Now, my iphone 4s does not sound form the speaker and the volume button up and down also does not work.I could hear the sound through the earphone. Also the airplay disapear. Please advice how to downgrade to the previous OS
Please try going to your settings area of your display. Click on General and go to 'reset all settings'
