Sound Delay In Multiple Outputs

I am trying to run my Built-In Output (with headphone jack speakers attached) and Bose SoundLink (USB output) at the same time. Ive gone through the Audio MIDI setup and made the Multi-Output Device and got them both to play at the same time but I get a delay in the sound coming out of the Bose. Im wondering how to get them to sync well or if it is even possible to do.
Thanks so mcuh for the help, guys!

I have this question too,
but in Single Output too:
MacBook Pro Mid 2009, OS X 10.6.8
Connection to Bose Soundlink II is ok,
but for example at YouTube the sound at the Bose
is nearly half a second later than the picture.
With iTunes this is not a big problem,
but with Movies or Midi Devices it is nearly
impossible to use the Bose with Bluetooth connection.
This problem does not exist with an iPhone 4S !
To play organ with the MacBook (USB keyboard and
Native Instruments Vintage Organs) is completely impossible:
half a second later after the key press the sound appears
at the Bose Soundlink II.....
My first solution is to connect the Bose with a cable,
but is this the solution....?
Looks like the problem lies in the Bluetooth driver of the Bose.

  • Multiple outputs from LE9 ( to soundcard cuemix/ outs? )

I know it is possible in Logic PRO 9 but I got confused by the comparison charts saying express cannot do 7.1 mixing..
Differences between the Logic Pro 9 and Logic Express 9 applications
The 3 Logic Pro 9 features that are not found in Logic Express 9 are:
Surround sound mixing (up to 7.1).
afterall Surround 7.1 is just 4 pairs of Stereo outs:)
    thanks

This is my point - the currently active channel does not produce sound through its multiple outputs unless Logic is playing.
So, for example, if I am auditioning different drum grooves from RMX through the multiple outputs (for the purpose of putting effects/processors on the outputs in Logic) this only works when Logic is playing.
Or if, in BFD, I have the direct Snare coming out of one output into an aux, and then a direct Kick coming out and output into another aux, I cannot hear them unless Logic is playing - I can only hear the ambient mic's as these are mapped to Outputs 1-2 which are the initial track you set the multiple output AU up on.
If none of this is something you tend to do, I guess it's hard to understand!
    Thanks,
    Alex.

  • External display sound delay

Hello all - Surprisingly I couldn't find this in searches on the forum, so looking for input. I've got an external monitor hooked up via firewire through an HDV deck. There's the expected sound delay (about 5 frames), but how do I get rid of it? Can I buy a video card to put in the G5 with analog outputs to take care of the transcoding delay? Or is there a setting to delay the audio like in Avid? Thanks!
    J

That's a better way to ask my question: How can I get video and audio to follow each other in sync to an external display and have both my computer and external monitor all play in sync?
Right now I'm monitoring audio strictly from computer line out speakers, and I'm monitoring video out through firewire via an HDV deck, so I understand why there is a delay. However, it's unrealistic for me to turn down my computer line out speakers and turn up my external monitor speakers every time I need to play back for clients.
I've tried fuddling with the Playback Controls Frame Offset, but it only delays my video playback on the computer, not the external monitor.
Surely there is a hardware solution for professional editors? A board I can purchase to install in the G5? I could throw a mixer into the mix for quick mute access, but not sure what hardware even to purchase to output from the computer for that. I'm accustomed to Avid hardware handling this, but I don't know where to find FCP hardware recommendations. Is this the right route?

  • Handling Multiple Output Parameters

    Howdy.
What is the concensus approach for handling multiple output parameters in Java?
We have a legacy C API that we are porting to Java. All API routines already return an error value as an int. i.e.:
    int foo(...);
What if we wanted to return additional info, such as a length and binary (not text) data?
    int foo(...,int* len,char** data);
We use a char** for data cause we don't know in advance how long the data will be and we don't want callers to have to allocate arbitrary-sized arrays. In other words, we allocate the output data buffer internally.
How do you do this in Java? Obviously, we can use an Integer object to return the length, but passing in a byte[] for data will not return the internally allocated array to the caller:
public int foo(...,Integer len, byte[] data); // can't allocate data internally
We also thought about using ByteArrayOutputStream, but since the class does not provide direct access to the internal array, it requires an inefficient copy through the toByteArray() method in order to retrieve our data.
    Any ideas?
    Ricardo

Yes, that is the approach that we are currently
using. We have defined an Out class that incorporates
all possible output types as data members:Huh? One class that is used for all possible output types? I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. Classes should be meaningful in and of themselves, not just to encapsulate a bunch of unrelated fields. Sounds non-OO.
    public class Out
    byte[] out_bytes;
    int      out_int;
}I guess we feel this is somewhat inelegant...
The only real problem is with the byte[] arguments.
    Any thoughts on that?
    Thanks,
RicardoThere's nothing inherently wrong with a byte array - else there may not be such an animal in the language. Other than the comments above about maybe it being non-OO, the only other comment I could make on this without really seeing the whole context (how this class is really used, etc) would be that yes it looks like it is just encapsulating all possible output types. Not good. If a method is going to return a byte array, it should do so - not return a meaningless "Out" object which happens to contain that array. And another method returning an int should return the int, not this "Out" object containing the int. These don't appear to be related fields belonging to an object in an OO sense.

  • Multiple outputs

    Hi,
I have a Motu Ultralite mk3 soundboard, and I want to send the output from Mainstage to two different stereo outputs on the soundboard. Same sounds on both outputs, but I want to be able to control the levels independently from my midikeyboard.
The reason for this is to use one stereo output for the mixing desk and one stereo output for my personal monitoring system.
In Logic is quite straightforward since the busses have sends, but since busses in Mainstager doesnt, I don't know how to accomplish this.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Andreas

One technique would be to create your patches so that everything routes to busses, then at the concert level create multiple outputs that each are sourced from the same bus, only with different output controls to map to your controller.

  • Vocal comp I have recorded sounds delayed

    Hello everyone,
I need some help with delayed playback...
the audio sounds delayed and I am worried about the overall groove so I would like to have this thing clear before I can start mixing
I am sure that there must be a proper solution than just moving the track randomly on the timeline by ear....
    these are my current settings:
    Thanks a lot

Check the output settings in GarageBand's preferences > Audio/Midi pane.
And in the System Preferences > Sound  panel.
Also check the settings in Audio Midi Setup Utility.

  • How do multiple outputs work in Logic?

    Hi guys:
Can anyone exaplin how multiple outputs in things such as Battery and BFD work?
BFD manula syas that indivdual kit peices have there own output bus'. For example hi hats have output 11. I am trying to send individual outputs from both Battery and BFD drummer so i can put filters and things on individual hits such as snares and hats.
However, i only have three stereo pairs of outputs in Logic: 1/2, 3/4, 5/6. My maudio interface 18/14 has two physical stereo pair outputs on it 1/2,- connected to my moniters and a sperate 3/4.
In the BDF manual it says that Logic has 16 outputs: where!?
And that different kit peices can be outputede thjrough them. How is this possible.
Can someone exaplin how multiple outputs work on things especially like Battery and BFD drummer.
    cheers

I can help you. These are called Aux Channels. First, assign how ever many of these you will need into your Audio Mixer. Do this by making or copying whatever adjacent channel in your mixer, then copy the copy (hold ALT and click-drag)
Select the first new channel you have just made (click its name down at the bottom and it will highlight). Go to the Parameter box to the left of the screen. You will seen the name of the channel which you have copied with a little trialgle next to it. If there are no parameters visible in this same box, click the triangle which will now reveal them below.
Go to where it says "Channel" and click-hold the channel name right beside the word "channel" (for example maybe it says "Track 32" or whatever you named that channel. Click hold on the name, and a dialog box opens, where you can select which kind of channel this is (Audio track, Audio Inst. etc.) One option will say Aux. Click hold on aux and then it reveals the sequential number of how ever many Aux channels are available in your system, usually dirctly pertaining to your number of outputs on your audio interface. Select Aux 1. Then move to the next new channel and repeat the process, selecting Aux 2 and soforth.
Now, in your Audio Instrument channel where you have Battery, be sure to select Multiple Channel-Battery, not Stereo (maybe obvious, but.. Anyway, do this step now if you havent inserted the Multi Channel version already.
Now, go to your first Aux Channel and click-hold the I/O button right above the Output button. A dialog window opens revealing an Aux output option for each Multi channel Instrument you have inserted. In this case it should say Battery 1 for a mono channel or Battery 1-2 for a stereo channel. Then Battery 2, Battery 3, and so on.
Simply select the numbers sequentially for each Aux Channel.
    Aux 1-Battary 1, Aux 2-Battery 2, etc.
Note that in the output box, you can still send the output of these channels to either your main mix (1-2) or physically to the remaining outputs of your Audio interface for external processing. In which case, to return this externally processed sound back to your main mix, you will need to make, by the came process, a channel called "Input" which the selected "input" numbers should correspond with the respective output channels in use. Then the Output of these "input channels" should be sent to 1-2. This is also the way to get external tone generaters to be injected into the main mix. It should be known that this method requires the MIDI track of any external sound source to be nudged by a few ticks to the left to compensate for the inherent latency. This latency is ONLY an issue if the signal is sent out externally then back into the Audio interface.
The only remaining step would be to then assign your individual "cells" or sounds to the Aux Channel you desire. I gave up Battery when moving to OSX because the upgrade required a new purchase. But in my case of the ESX24II, this is done by clicking the EDIT button on the ESX24, then selecting whichever sample manually, which opens a parameter box among which, gives output (and pan in the event of a stereo channel)options.
This has dramatically changed the sound of my virtual drums by being able to separately compress and eq and reverberate each channel separately, just like drum tracks on a real mixer. Big BIG difference! Still, in the end all these go bye-bye replaced with a real drummer, which ALWAYS sounds even better to me. Still, to each his-her own! have fun!
    Good luck!
    Now, go bac

  • Multiple output types issue

    Hello,
I configured two output types (Bill of lading & Packing list) for the application V7-transaportation. I am able to get both the outputs. Now, I am able to get a print for BOL and also a print preview. For Packing list I am able to see the screen view(print preview), but when I try to print it directly it gives me an error " output could not be issued" . When I go to Output-> screen it is showing me the output.
I have maintained all the required print parameters and assigned the print profiles to the output types. Is there a problem with my configuration? can't I print two output types simultaneously?

    Hi,
Is there a printer defaulted to your output types?  You can issue multiple outputs at the same time.
If the output types have been determined in your document, then nothing wrong with the determination process.
If the output can be previewed, nothing wrong with the SAPScript or Smartform.
So maybe something to do with compatibility with the printer chosen.
    Phyllis.

  • Multiple output modules cause render to fail?

Is anybody else having trouble with using multiple output modules in after effects?  Let me elaborate:  so I'm working on a 3d film, and my worflow is to simply work with the footage side by side in a single comp (we're at HD, so the comp size is 3840x1080).  Very often, I need to fire off a quick render to show to the director.  Most of the time, I just do the left eye by cropping to that 1920x1080 area in the output module.  Other times I need to deliver both eyes, so instead of cropping to 1920x1080, I resize the frame in the output module to 1920x1080.  Yea, we lose half of our horizontal resolution, but that's not such a big deal for us when just working on approvals.
Here's the thing: sometimes I like to export multiple variations of this at once (ie one output module for the left eye, one for the right eye, and another for the squished side-by-side left-right video).  Whenever I try to output multiple modules with quicktime, it fails.  Every time.
When it fails, I get two messages: the first (a warning) says "After Effects warning: last frame was written to one or more output modules, but not all! ( 26 :: 153 )"
The second message (an error) shows up once for each output module: "After Effects error: Rendering error while writing to file "C:\blahh blah blah\whereIputmyfiles\the_render.mov". An output module failed.  The file may be damaged or corrupted. (-1610153464)."  Once it fails, I cannot output to quicktime AT ALL (multiple output modules, or not) without restarting After Effects.
I tried outputting multiple modules as a PNG sequence... and that worked just fine (if "slow as hell" can ever be called "fine" .... but it worked! )
I tried outputting to the multiple formats I wanted with one output module per render item (rather than having one render item with multiple modules) as quicktime, and that worked just fine (of course... it takes N times as long though... for N number of outputs).
I am on Windows 7 64-bit... running After Effects CC 2014... I never had this trouble back when I was working on the CC version (the not 2014 cc version... that is too confusing...).  However, I just went back and tried it with the older version, and it no longer works there either!  What gives?
When outputting quicktime, I'm using the h.264 codec.
And before anybody suggests it, no I can't just use AME because that can't resize video (it forces you to keep the aspect ratio through letterboxing) or crop video.

    >The most likely culprit is the h.264 Quicktime. It should have never been included as an option. It doesn't even work well in Quicktime Pro or in Final Cut...
I'll come to Apple's (partial) defense here:
Their H.264 codec was written and released at a time when it was difficult to imagine that mainstream computers would have as many CPUs as they do now, so it's somewhat understandable that the severe failures that this codec has with large numbers of threads occurs. Of course, we may all wish that Apple hadn't decided to end development on the QuickTime platform, since this has meant that bugs like this are likely to persist.
That said, this is why we increasingly recommend that people use other H.264 codecs and not use QuickTime for such things. See the H.264 options currently in Adobe Media Encoder.

  • Multiple output-parameters in a custom component

Is it possible to develop a custom component that returns multiple outputs?
I know that I can define multiple tag <output-parameter> in component.xml, but I don't know how the method of my class can return multiple Objects...

You can have multiple getters and setters function that will set or return multiple parameters. Each output parameter can be set to a specific function.

  • How to map idoc segments to multiple output structures

    Dear experts,
On Pi I need to map segments from an Idoc to 2 different outputstructures. My scenario is as follows:
incoming Idoc on PI -> if segment eq 'X' then map to outputstructure '1'; if segment eq 'Y' then map to outputstructure '2'
    Idoc structure is as follows:
    - 1 header segment
    - 1..n detail segments (which I need to map to outputstructure 1)
    - 1 summarisation segment (which I need to map to outputstructure 2)
Output needs to be a .txt file.
I would like to use the graphical message mapping on PI, how can I map the Idoc to multiple output structures?
    Thanks in advance,
    William

    Hi
    You can do 1:n multimapping
in message mapping in messages tab ..add both the structures in target tab and do the mapping
and in operation mapping add both the message interface on the target side

  • How to view multiple output parameters from web services

I have used the Labview tool to create a .NET assembly from a WSDL file.
In the WSDL file the service has been defined to return 2 output parameters.
In Labview, when I invoke the method for this service the first output parameter ends up as the return value of the method.  I can create an indicator for this and it gets updated properly when I run the VIS to use the web service..  The indicator is an integer value but recognizes the type defined within the WSDL file.
The second output parameter shows up as an output value.  When I right click on it and create an indicator for it I get a .NET icon on the front panel rather than an integer value.
How can I view the value for this second output parameter after running the web service?
Is there a difference in how multiple output parameters handled in newer versions of Labview (I am using verison 7.1)?

  • Multiple Output formats from Single Source File? (Like Squeeze)

I'd really love to be able to batch process encodes in the following manner:
Drop my source video file into AME CS5, select an MP4 preset, and then have it encode multiple bitrate versions while adding filename extensions [e.g. _High (700 kb/s), _Mid (550 kb/s), _Low (400 kb/s)].
The simple answere is to drop, or duplicate, my input clip 3 times and just select 3 presets I could set up under the Hi, Mid, Lo parameters. But that's exactly what I'm trying to work around. I encode video ads for major web-video sites, and the volume is just manageable to batch process these (drag and drop large quantities, select multiple presets at once, hit Start.) To handle each ad we service would be far too time consuming, even for as simple as AME makes it to duplicate/choose new preset. (In the end, our ads jump onto our FTP via AME's FTP upload option, one of it's smartest features!)
We have quite a bit of encoding resources here at work, but AME has been giving us the most favorable results. Other options, such as Sorenson Squeeze, let you import your source clips, then apply 2 or more presets to them, before encoding the whole batch. Is there any similar functionality in Media Encoder? (Really don't want to move our workflow into Squeeze, with it's inferior MP4 encoding.)
Does anybody have any experience with this sort of high-volume multiple-outputs from individual source files? Any tips with scripts or Apple's "Automator" that could streamline this type of batch processing?

Any update on this ability?  We create many in house videos that need to be encoded to 14 different
bitrates for use with Flash Media Server as dynamic http streams.
Currently when I am ready to export a finished sequence, I will pick my first preset and queue it in AME.  Then I duplicate that thirteen times, setting each of the new thirteen queued items to their appropriate bitrates.  Then I have to change each of the output names to be "filename_bitrate.flv".
This process is much slower when queued in AME than if I exported each individually from PP.  I just don't have the time to manually export each version.
I have also started noticing that some of the last few projects won't render beyond the quality of the first queued item.  Do I need to render the largest bitrate file first?
Any indication from Adobe on the correct workflow to create multiple bitrate files to be consumed by FMS as dynamic http streams would be appreciated.
The link above is dead.  Does anyone have an updated link to the document above?
