Sound different from video in capture

Hey,
i shoot with my vx2000 and then capture with a cheap samsung camcorder and sometimes when i capture the sound is about 3 seconds off. i always plug the firewire in before i turn on the camera and such. usually when this happens i do the whole process again it works fine. its really annoying though when you capture a full 60min tape and the audios off. i record in 16bit by the way.

LR 5.5 - Cannot export/publish to HDD or Flickr from video frame capture - "An internal error has occurred: assertion failed"

Basically as the title states, I cannot publish a set of photos that originated as video frame captures, whether to my hard drive or using a service plugin for Flickr. I have tried multiple publish service plugins for Flickr and everything fails precisely the same way. This only happens when I add photos to the collection that are JPG's derived from video, and it only started doing this recently. I have other frame captures that I uploaded just fine, but it appears that nothing from the set I worked on the other day wants to upload. Other NEF-derived photos from the same set work just fine.
All I get is a Warning dialog stating that an error has occurred while the main dialog stops on "Preparing to export...", then it kicks me back with no action taken when I click OK. The status in the upper left says "Updating Published Collections". If I remove the new frame capture photo, it works fine, but as soon as I add one to the collection, it fails to publish.
I updated from 5.4 to 5.5, tried new publish plugins, completely removed and recreated my local profile, reimported my catalog, all to no avail. Everything worked fine two days ago, then when I went to upload my latest edits yesterday, I started receiving the error and have had no luck fixing it.
I used debugView to capture a log as the error occurred, so I can provide that for a developer or support contact if required.
EDIT: I just tried choosing some different photos in the set, and most appear to work, so it is just some particular images that it does not like. I will try to narrow it down.

I narrowed it down to one photo in particular that it does not like. It's not a deal-breaker, but I am still curious what is going on that is causing that one photo being in a set to break the publish process

Audio sounds different from DVDSP to Build File

I have a background audio track that sounds different when I view my VIDEO_TS folder using Apple DVD Player. In my FCP file, my exported AIF, my exported AC3, and within the DVDSP simulator, the audio sounds perfectly fine.
But when I make a build and view it in Apple DVD Player, it sounds very different. I'd describe the resulting sound as having more 'contrast': the 'loud' parts are the same, but the quiet parts are moderately quieter. Any idea what's going on?

What dialogue normalisation setting did you use (in A. Pack, or Compressor) for your Dolby Digital coding to create the .AC3s? If you use the default setting of -27dB, a (correctly set-up) player will change the audio levels on playback. If you change the setting to -31dB before coding, the levels are left alone on playback.
(There is a lot of material about Dolby Digital on their web-site, if you require "further reading".)

ITunes and Quicktime sound differs from other apps sound?

I have never noticed that before I upgraded my sound system — the sound in iTunes (with EQ and 'Enhancer', as well as other features regarding sound, turned off), Audacity and QuickTime feels more close to my CD player sound, than sound in apps such as SoundCloud, VK Box (from Appstore) etc. Is that because of some way the QuickTime framework works or I have misconfigured something? I don't have any DSP apps, such as, for example, 'Hear', installed.

Perian overwrites nothing. It does not do anyting with MPEG 1 (which is already supported) or MPEG-2, or WMV (which needs Flip4mac). The Perian website lists all the codecs it handles and advises you to remove the ones it does , DivX, 3ivX XVid being common ones that this affects. There is a quite long list of them.
The $30 for QT Pro (not player which is free and always installed in OSX) is needed to use QT Pro to edit and export so Perian or not you need that or you can stick with Streamclip (which adds no codecs at all).

Audio offset from video after capturing

another issue i am having is at random when i capture, the audio is off by about .23 secs. i can fix it by cutting the audio and shifting it over, but is there a way to prevent this?

Do you have "abort capture on dropped frames" and "create new clip on timecode break" preferences enabled? If not, you may have synch problems and you will probably not be able to recapture accurately.

Can I suggest using something that will allow audio capture from the external mic. to start with. Then you will have a video with audio in sync, in a format that you can re encode into whatever format you wish.
But, if you must do that. Dump the video from the handycam file, then put the mics audio file with it. ffmpeg -i video ffmpeg -i audio into whatever container and codecs that you want. You may have to adjust audio-video sync
ffmpeg -i audio -itsoffset 0.1 -i video

ffmpeg will do just about anything, but is a little daunting. Ask specific questions and you'll get specific answers. Or find a front end for it. I never use them.

Here are the steps for AirPlay:
Before starting Azul from your (running iOS 5.x/6.x) home screen where have have all your apps we need to turn on mirroring
On your iPhone 4S/5 or iPad 2 or 3, double-click the Home Button to view your recently-used apps.
Swipe all the way to the right to until you see the icon.
Note: If the icon does not appear, go to the "If AirPlay Mirroring is not visible or available on your mobile iOS device" section.
Tap the icon to see the list of available AirPlay devices.
Enable AirPlay Mirroring in this menu by tapping on an available Apple TV, then sliding the Mirroring slider to ON.
Now you should be seeing your iPad/iPhone on your TV.
Start up Azul now and using the settings icon on the top right corner go to the option that say "TV out" ON.
When you do that you will see an Orange screen
Now click "Done" and play the video you want to watch and it will AirPlay

Published Videos from IPhoto to Gallery have sound but no video in browser

I've published some iphoto pictures and videos to a gallery on MobileMe. The videos in the gallery will play in the browser but there is no video, just sound.
The videos in IPhoto work fine, but through the browser they have no image. Do I need a special plugin to play these videos off the site? I simply let IPhoto upload them to the gallery, so I assumed it would do whatever it needed to ensure they will play...
Any help would be appreciated...I've tried viewing the videos with Firefox and Safari, but I get the same behavior. I tried downloading the file and it is the same bahavior, however the originals in the IPhoto albums work just fine...I assume this means a conversion is happening, but to what format?? They have an AVI extension, were originally downloaded from a Canon 770is camera.
I confirmed I can play the video on a Windows computer. I also downloaded the file from the gallery and opened in Quicktime and used the inspector to see:
Format is 'MJPG' 640x480..it also downloaded with a .MOV extension rather than the AVI listed in gallery....

Is the video within iTunes or just in your movies folder?
If it is not iTunes then ignore the "itunes" portion below.
Remove the following files to the trash (do not empty until you test for function):
~/library/caches
~/library/preferences/com.apple.itunes.plist
~/library/preferences/com.apple.frontrow.plist

- Restart your computer again
- Test and see how its working

It will be right next to the movie in your library and the jpg file will end up on your hard disk right next to the movie file. You can see the actual file by right (or control) clicking on the image in the library view and selecting "show in Finder/Explorer"

Capture Pictures/Images from Video

I am just getting warmed up in these forums here. I wanted to know if you could capture still images from video clips and if they are Kodak clear. I have a couple of family videos that I would like to have pictures taken from and framed. Does anybody know much about this?

History of images "captured" from video

Usually when you import an image, in the History panel you find the first entry states when it was imported eg. "Import (date time)"
Could we have something the same in the History panel for images captured from video? At present there is nothing there when you first check it out and you can't truely go back to the start (unless you managed to remember to take a snapshot before you touch a slider.)
I'm using the Windows 32 bit version. The above issue is consistent with both the DSLR (Canon 5D II) and normal video I borrowed from my Dad.

I'm using Photoshop Elements 8. When I try to capture still photos from video clips, the results are not very satisfactory. Usually the stills are very unclear, not sharp like I want them to be. I have to make many attempts to capture a still before I can get one that's halfway clear.   Does it have to be this way?   What can I do to get consistently clear stills from video? Thank you!

Frame from Video is more or less a legacy feature in PSE 8. It was meant to capture a frame or two from a short homemade video at a low resolution. It doesn't do HD video at all, and isn't meant for a clip that's more than a minute or so in length. It's been dropped from the latest version because nobody has those kinds of movies anymore.
So the bottom line is you're better off doing this with some other program than with PSE.

No sound from Video Recording on iPad Mini

Hi All Apple users,
Just need to check how do i troubleshoot this problem.
I can hear the sound from videos from all other websites and other playback apps.
but when i tried recording a video, the sound just did not project out from my recordings.
it is a mic problem? because i had no problems before. it just so happened one fine day...

why can't you record your video ?
is the option gone?
does it give you an error?
does it show as if it's recording but don't produce a recording in the end?
basicly more info is needed

How to extract sound from video

Is there a way to extract the sound track from a video file (avi, etc) using java ?
I've searched everywhere for this and it seems that it can't be done with java, only with c# and others.... This would be annoying, since i really like java and wouldn't want to write C# code...
The only 'solution' I've found is running an external application (with Runtime.exec())...
If I'm wrong please point me in the right direction.

"Use the right tool for the job." If you know it can be done easily with C#, go with it. It's widely accepted that Java is not very good for multimedia applications.
But if you really have to do it in Java, perhaps JMF can help.
