Sound disappearing on vi

I have an X-Fi ExtremeMusic and in vista after doing anything for 0-30mins the sound just disappears. Cant find anything to do other than reboot. Any suggestions?Also Audiodg.exe runs anywhere from % - 90% cpu just to listen to anything. Any advice on this one also?I realise that the drivers are useless atm but still I see others can use the cards with basic functions. If you haven't done so already, can you submit your feedback through the beta feedback program? Include as much detail as you can so they team can investigate and hopefully resolve it if there is an issue there.

HP Envy 4 1080-ex Sound disappear

I have a HP Envy 4 1080-ex Ultrabook, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, it is not under warranty.
Unfortunately the audio does not always work on my HP.
After starting my computer, I hear the check-in sound normally, after 1-2 minutes (sometimes 30-40 min.) all of the sound disappears. When I look at the volume mixer, I can not see the green bar rising and falling so I think there are not generated sound.
I checked everything in Control Panel, there are nothing disabled and there are everything all right (according to Troubleshooter).
But there are one thing what I noticed: Sound/Playback/ my IDT HighDef. Audio speakers properties/ Advanced -> TEST.
When I click at the test button, I can see a Windows message "The device is being used by another application"
I think that my system is up to date, because HP Support Assistant checked all of my drivers and these are up do date..
Today I checked my operation system, it is up do date as well.

Hello and welcome to the HP support forum and thank you for posting. First thing you would want to do is try a system restore back to when you know the sound was working. This will remove any updates and software changes that may have happened.
Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7)
If that fails you can run the system back to the original settings by doing a system recovery.

Sound disappeared in Safari and BBC Radio Widget

Two days ago, without warning, the sound disappeared from both Safari and my BBC Radio Widget. All other sound on the computer is fine and if I play an MP3 through Safari it will play but otherwise there is silence. (Problem was discovered by our 5 year-old who was disappointed that there was no sound coming from the CBeebies websites!).
Have checked all other sound options and everything is in order.
Went to local Mac re-seller and they shrugged their shoulders and said try here.
Any suggestions?

If there is a preference file associate with the widget, move it to the trash before you reinstall a new copy. The preference file will be name widget-com.(name assigned to widget).plist. You can try a search in spotlight on look in your User Library>Preferences folder.

Sound disappears!

Hi everyone!
I got a huge problem, the thing is that my sound can just disappear and because it take soo much of the system I have to reboot to make it work again, and this is very annoying since this happens at least one time a day.
I am using Vista 32 bits, I got Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Music, the version of the driver is the latest,2.8.003
is there any solution or way around this problem?

Why is the sound disappearing when I send a video?

I have an iPhone 5C. When I record a video and send it, the sound disappears! I can hear it just fine when I play the video back on my phone, but if I send the video to someone, they can't hear it. Why is this happening? I tested it by sending it to my email, and sure enough, the sound is gone! Am I doing something wrong when I send it, or is there a setting that is off somewhere that I need to adjust?

I can't even see where that setting is.. for my information all the footage is from a GoPro so what I've had to do is convert them to .mov and Apple ProRes 422 now. Now when I have them in final cut the samples in 'All Clips' and in the time line look ok in till I hover over them and then they have the red hint again, they do how ever export the right colour now but this is going to make colour correction difficult

Sounds disappears from project

After importing a project from iDVD to DVD Studio Pro, the sound disappears after around 30 seconds of playback.
Any tips or advice would be welcome, thank you

Sound also disappears at the exact same point when imported from quicktime.
The audio is fine in quicktime and on iDVD4

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

Why does the sound disappear halfway through every song???

I went jogging yesterday and about halfway through every song the sound would disappear without the song pauseing. When I skipped a few seconds forwards or backwards in the song the sound came back. Then it played for about 1 minute before the sound disappeared again. I am the only one using the account. I have tried to log out and deleteing the app and downloading it again, but nothing works :( This only happens when I am using my headphones from my Iphone. Spotify on my computer works fine and so does spotify on my phone if I dont use the headphones. My headphones are new and I have tried using others, but it is still the same problem!PLEASE HELP ME

Start "New Message".
Click "View" in the menu bar and then "Customize Tool Bar".
Customize Toolbar sheet should drop down.
At bottom left there is "Show" pop up box, click it and select "Icon and Text".
Click "Done".

Nokia N95 8GB Sound disappears!

I have problems with my Nokia N95 8GB. It works 2 days and then the sound disappears. When somebody calls me the phone only vibrates. To fix this, I have to restart my phone and after 1-2 days I have the same problem until I restart it. Anybody know what the problem is. I tried to reinstall the firmware, but this didn't help me at all.

Then you have to take it to a Nokia care point. There might also be a chance of a faulty connections, heatissues or whatever. If you cannot fix it by reinstall and hard reset - there is not much you can do yourself.

Ok 3 days ago the sound disappeared on my ipad,there was no slider on the music app or when I double click the home button,nothing happened when I used the volume buttons. However, when I slide the ringer in sounds in setting there is sound so that proofs there is nothing wrong with my speaker,and when I use headphones there is sound. I have tried everything, restarting,rebooting,checking if its mute,but then I read something and it told me to clean my dock connecter with alcohol and a toothbrush. So when I did it IT WORKED,but then sometimes it happens again and its really annoying and frustrating,also when I leave it and sleep in the morning it's working. MacBook Air - a sound disappeared

After an exit from the state of sleep my notebook gave out a system error, I overloaded him, whereupon a sound disappeared fully. That to do?

Closing up the book is a bad idea when she is hot.
The fan tends to move air via the keyboard as well as the vents on the bottom.
Prove it your self; hold your hand over the right side of keyboard and it is relatively cool. However on the left half of keyboard heat is rising; also from left most side of case.
Closing the screen down traps in the heat.
I understand if you can not shut down the programs you are using and sleeping the Air is only choice. But other wise, at all costs, just quit your running aps until you just have the desk top and keep the screen up and the fan running. The fan running fast is a good thing until the temp is brought down.
Sorry if I am coming across as too "know it all". I don't know much about the Air but I am learning.

Why sounds disappear sometimes when i plug or unplug external speakers ?

Sometimes when i plug or unplug my external speakers, sound disappear compelety.
Rebooting fix problem, but i didn't have this problem before i updatet my system software to Lion.
Is there anyway to fix this problem.

Alsa sound disappeared between kernel 2.6.30 and 2.6.33

My last working alsa was running on kernel 2.6.30.6. Some months ago, I upgraded and the sound disappeared. Due to other programs, I now want a fully updated kernel and get 2.6.33-2-1. The alsa sound still does'nt work. I get the sound back by downgrading to 2.6.30, but other things then fails.
I'm using an LG A1 Express. As far as I can see, everything looks ok, but I don't hear any sound.
I have used alsaconf, and got expected output. Alsamixer is used to unmute and set up audio-sources.
Grateful to any suggestions!

Sound disappears after plugging headphones in/out

My sound disappears right after i plug my headphones(for iphone), so there is no sound in the headphones. After some minutes, 3-5 maybe, it appears again. The same happens when I plug the headphones out...again, after 3-5 minutes it appears...

Safari sound disappears

Safari sound disappears intermittently when looking at yahoo news. On my IMAC, but not my mini.

1. Remove the headphone.
    If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
    in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
    Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.

    Choose the method for:
    "Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
