Sound does not play with most of my clips

How do I get the sound to work on video clips? Some do and some do not. I unclicked Draft mode.

Not much we at Adobe can do to get the AC3 codec installed on your computer, we don't produce it. But someone else on the forum here may have some tips to help you out. All I would suggest is following the same basic troubleshooting steps used to help installed Adobe products. But if you are getting an error message, I'd start by searching the internet for it.

  • Why when I play a video on my HP G2-34OUs Notebook the sound does not go with the video?

When I play a video from a CD, the sound does not go with the pictures/film.  Sometimes the video just stops and will not move forward.  This happens on a number of players that I have enstalled.

    Hi henryjd,
Sorry to hear about the videos issues, I know that can be frustrating. I will be happy to help. It sounds like you are having an issue with either your video and/or audio drivers. What version of operating system are you running?

I am getting no sound on my macbook pro. The sound does not play when I plug in headphones either.  I have tried making it louder quieter, restarting my computer, HELP!

There are many possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
    1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article. Don't skip any of the steps. It's the starting point for further efforts to solve the problem.
    2. If your model has an audio-out (headphone) port, and anything is plugged in, unplug it before putting the system to sleep.
    3. If you've installed something called "Memory Clean" or any other third-party software that is supposed to "clean" or "purge" memory automatically, remove it according to the developer's instructions and reboot. You should do that even if the software is not causing the problem, because it's useless.
    4. If you've installed an equalizer called "Boom" or anything similar, update or delete it and reboot.
    5. If an AirPlay device is selected for sound output from iTunes (or from other applications via third-party software such as "Airfoil"), deselect it.
    6. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select the Output tab. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them. Move the Volume sliders all the way to the right.
    7. If a red light is coming from the audio-out port, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
    8. Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If more than one display is connected, disconnect all extra ones. Reboot and test.
    9. Boot in safe mode. Don't log in; just reboot as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
    10. Reset the NVRAM.
    11. Reset the SMC.
    12. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data. For a possible shortcut, see this thread.
    13. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.

  • In AE CS6, the sound does not match with video

    Hi,
I would like to ask a question. I have AE CS6, and I recorded a gameplay video with Avermedia Live Gamer HD. The format of this video is .mp4. When I import the .mp4 into the program, the sound does not match. On the original video, when i play with VLC or WMP, all things are good, and when i import, the sound does not good. What causes this problem, and can I do something to solve this?
    Thanks the answers, R3dLinE

Check your footage interpretation, split the audio in an external program, convert the sample rate and import it separately or whatever. Most likely you simply have used unsuitable recording settings with odd sample and data rates.

  • HT5409 AVCHD audio does not play with the video clip

iPhoto does not import, or even see the clips, and when QuickTime played the clip off the card itself, no audio is present even though the inspector shows stereo.

    Morning Remigijus Biciunas,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Some devices don't appear in the regular import view of iPhoto. You can still use AVCHD video from these cameras by dragging and dropping or menu-driven imports.
For more information on this, take a look at this article:

  • Radio Playlist does not play with Photos

I have created a "Radio" playlist and synced to my Apple TV (Playlist containing internet radio). It works perfectly as long as I hear it as "music", but as soon as I choose that playlist to be played in combination with Photos, it does not play (while photos are being shown). Any idea?
    Alex

    Can't say I'm surprised really.
We didn't really have internet radio playlists until a few months ago.
It should be straightforward to add, but I doubt it would be a high priority addition.

  • In Flash the sound does not play only started from the beginning. Can anyone please help?

In Flash, the sound only plays if the file is started from the beginning. The sound doesn't play if starting from anywhere other than the beginning.
This is very frustrating when trying to sync the animation with the sound as it's not possible to scroll back and forward with the sound playing. The only way the sound works is if it is started from the beginning.
If anyone can help that would be fantastic.
    Thanks

    Hi Jeromie,
Many thanks for your help. Here is some additional information, which may shed light on the problem.
I am using Flash Professional CC  2014.0 release,  Build 14.0.0.110
The computer I'm using is then iMac running OSX version 10.9.3 Build 13D65 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
I am using Flash, not a web-based editor that leverages Flash Player.
"a direct link to the project or tool would be useful in allowing us to attempt to reproduce the problem" -  Not sure how to do this, how can I add the project to the forum?
Many thanks once again for your help, let me know if you need more information.
    Cheers
    Michael

  • I can import video into iMovie but the sound does not come with it.

I tried using a digitizer with my Macbook Pro that worked very well with my G5 tower for the past 6 years.....I can see the video but get no sound. Any issues anybody can think of? I have tried switching cables, etc. I am using a firewire connection running from a VCR. It also does the same thing with a PowerPC Macbook Pro.

I had a feeling that was it and found the website....it said would not work with Snow Leopard or even Panther. Thanks though for taking the time to help.

  • Sound Does not Play Back

I am playing recorded video from a Sony HDR-HC1 through the DV out and capturing in on location. All goes well(except for some red frame video) during capture, good video and audio. I captured three times. On one occasion the audio played back. The other two it did not. Audio will not play back in PP CS3. The file is an AVI T2. The same clips play back fine in Edius 3.6 with good sound.
Any tips on what is wrong?
    Kent

Hey There and Welcome to the mac forum!!!!
Could it be possible that you moved or even trashed the audio files you were using? If so then they get trashed in imovie to.
Next time, transform the movie into a Quicktime movie (once you are completely done the project). Once you have done this, you can move or even trash any of the elements of your movie (even the footage) but this will make your actual imovie project useless (The Quicktime one will be fine).
    I hope this helps,

  • Sometimes Sound does not play when playing multiple Sounds simultaneously

This is also a best practices question, too.
I built a game that uses a lot of different sounds (about 48 I think). Many are short, less than a second, and a few are longer, music cues, etc.
Example problem: Sometimes when there are a lot of sounds playing and a music cue is suppose to fire, the music sound doesn't play. I made a trace on the function that plays the music sound, and that function does execute. Are there limits on how many sounds can be playing simultaneously? (This doesn't only happen to a particular sound , could be any sound)
Also, as far as best practices, If there is a sound that could be played multiple times simultaneously, should  a new instance of that sound be created each time its played? If there is only one instance of that sound, will the previous playing of that sound be cancelled when called to play again?
    Thanks,
    Adam

    Thanks.
I guess I could add  channels to an array as they start and remove them from the array when they are done playing to keep track. That way when an important sound, like a music cue, is suppossed to play I can check the array stop enough sounds to allow the music cue to play. Hopefully it wont be too much overhead with all those listeners.

  • Creating H.264 FLV file as per Spec, does not play with Adobe Flash Player 10

1] We have developed an application to encapsulate H.264 video inside FLV container, following the "Adobe Video File Format Specifications 9". According to the specification the H.264 video data is embedded in FLV tags, as follows
FLV Headers: Meta Tag: Sequence of Video Tag.
But in spite of following the specifications, Adobe Flash Player (version 10) could not play this FLV file. However, some players were able to play this FLV file. The fact that Adobe did not play it was very surprising.
2] We searched and finally found one FLV file, which contained H.264 video (unlike others which usually contained Sorenson's H.263). This file was played fine by Adobe Flash Player. So it led us to investigate further and we found that
[A] the video tag was preceded with 2 byte length of the every "contained" H.264 NALU. This applied to all the NALUs / I-slices/P-slices and so on.        This is not documented.
[B] Only the first video tag (containing video sequence params), is preceded by the sequence "01 4D 00 15 FD E1" followed by 2 byte length and then      the video data (sequence parameters in this case). What are these additional bytes ? where are they documented ?
Could you pls share your views about the above and point us to the documents, if any, which are in agreement with the above observations. We think there is a discrepency in the document related with authoring FLV file with H.264 content.

You could push it out to one or two users and test.  Moving up to the latest version of Flash Player is USUALLY a good idea, however, if you happen to be on Captivate 4, be aware that there was an issue reported some time ago that once you upgraded your development machine to Flash Player 11 it interfered with publishing out courses.  I cannot remember seeing a bugfix issued to Cp4 users for this (someone correct me if I'm wrong).  If you're on Cp5 or 5.5 this shouldn't be an issue.

  • I have authorized my computer, but it does not play my most recent downloads, why?

I have purchased some music on iTunes.  I have gone to my library to play the tracks, but then it asks me to authorize my computer.  I have authorized it, but did so again.  It recognized this computer, but refuses to play the song.  It goes back to the authorization part.  What gives?  I have already paid for the music?
    Cindy

If that's the only song purchased using that particular iTunes account that is giving you that error message, that suggests that the song file is damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • Why is it that an amplitude-scaled sound does not play louder than the original sound using Play Waveform?

I don't know if I have posted this on a correct location (kinda new here).
I am trying to demonstrate the effect of multiplying a constant to a waveform. I have a sound file read by Sound File Read Simple.vi. Then I am trying to scale the amplitude of the signal by a constant number. I've tried three methods for this: the Numeric Multiplication, the express VI Scaling and Mapping, and the scaling and conversion VI of Signal Express. The waveform shows that the amplitude of the scaled signal is indeed scaled, but when played thru the play waveform VI, the sound level is still the same, no matter how much I am scaling the input. Does anyone why is this so? Also, I really wanted to show that scaling an audio waveform results in a louder waveform. How do I do this? As much as possible, I've wanted to use simple VIs as the class is an introduction to signal processing and the students (and so am I) are still finding our way into LabVIEW (we used to use MATLAB in the course).

    Hi kirkbardini,
According to this article about Low Volume From Sound VI, you can use a scalar multiple to increase the volume of a sound saved to a .wav file, so you should be able to do this before playing it.  Does that not work for you?
That information is for Labview 7.x and hence outdated. As mentioned before. Labview do a normalization before sending data to the sound card. As you know sound cards are most often 16 or 24 bits. And in most cases data input to a sound card is in DBL type. After normalization the data is converted so the floating point value 1 represent full scale output on data sent to the the sound card DA. To get any further I suggest kirkbardini take the time needed to send us his/hers current code. Then we may solve things from there
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
