Sound doesn't play with video

i just recently put a few music videos on my ipod and they play fine, but the music doesn't play along with them. also if i try to play the music then start the video, my ipod freezes up. can anyone help me resolve my dilemma here? thanks (:

Quicktime, Quicktime Pro and iTunes don't convert "muxed" ( muxed means multiplexed where the audio and video are stored on the same track) video files properly. It only plays the video and not the audio.

You need a 3rd party converter to convert the file with both audio and video.

I bought a Creative Zen and when I watch a video on it the sound does?nt sync with the video that I?m playing.
It gets worse the longer the video is on. In the end it often is like a 3 second difference.
When I watch the file on my computer it works fine.
Can someone help me with this problem?

Have you tried the free program BADAK for converting your videos
In response to my request, the creator of the free program BADAK has included a preset for the ZEN in the presets. This program can be downloaded free of charge from

The preset for the ZEN is included in the latest version badak20080822.exe setup file.
You would also have to download the codec package mencoder-codecpack-2006022.exe.
The converted file then has the prefix [Z].

When i start Firefox ( 5.0.1 ) it loads the home page fine but along with it, it starts playing a video i watched earlier on youtube and it is invisible ( no where in tabs ) and i can just hear the sound. After playing the video one time it stops.

Sorry you are having problems. First of all try Fifrefox's safemode.

If that works post back for further advice.
Next step, if safe mode did not work.
First: Try a clean install, (you have had a none standard version installed previously) that involves deleting the program files. Then if necessary try troubleshooting by creating and using a clean empty Firefox profile.

Itunes doesn't play the video anymore

Help! ITunes doesn't play the video clips anymore just the sound works.
I've restarted, quit the other applications but no result.

If you are playing through remote speakers, iTunes 8.1 will not play the video. Previous versions would play fine using only the computer's speakers, but 8.1 requires the remote airtunes speakers be deselected.

Not so much a bug, but a difference in behavior from the iPods.
In the iPod, you can make a playlist under Music->Playlist and it can contain both audio and video files. It will play the audio files fine, then the audio-only of the video files in the list. Having videos in a music playlist seems like a bug, but this "feature" allows you to just hear audio of video files if you desire (like listening to a movie without running the video screen).
If you go in to Video->Playlists instead, you play audio, then switch to video when it hits a video item in the list.
On the iPhone, the concept of Video Playlist is unavailable, only a playlist via TV Shows. So, I can't do it like I've been doing it for the past year or so on my iPod with Video.
I'm working on workarounds right now. I tried toggling all the vidcasts to "TV Show" video type, so they can be added to a TV Show playlist, and that sorta-works but isn't graceful (if I can make it work, I'll provide an iTunes script to do this for us).
I also found out by downloading the podcasts (check them off specifically) they can be made to show up in the video section, but just having them in an Audio Playlist isn't enough.

I have Elements 9 and I just imported my photos and videos from my new camera - Panasonic Lumix DMC FH27 10 Zoom 16 megapix and when I played them in Elements 9 all I could hear is the sound, all conversation, but the video won't play, just a black screen. I can import the videos into itunes (mpeg), and then converting the selection for an ipod. I then put the video onto the ipod, but when I go to play it from the nano, the sound doesn't work. please help.

It's an encoding problem: iTunes doesn't like multiplexed mpeg video. Doesn't matter if you convert them or not, the audio will still be messed up. I recommend using a 3rd party video converter (like Nero Recode) that can handle all types of video (mpeg/wmv/mov).

In AE CS6, the sound does not match with video

I would like to ask a question. I have AE CS6, and I recorded a gameplay video with Avermedia Live Gamer HD. The format of this video is .mp4. When I import the .mp4 into the program, the sound does not match. On the original video, when i play with VLC or WMP, all things are good, and when i import, the sound does not good. What causes this problem, and can I do something to solve this?

Check your footage interpretation, split the audio in an external program, convert the sample rate and import it separately or whatever. Most likely you simply have used unsuitable recording settings with odd sample and data rates.
