Sound drops

My iPod 3 is dropping sound, especially in the mid ranges. Highs and lows seem to be ok (though lows drop out some too), but mids are nearly non-existent. Anyone know what this is and how to correct it?

Is this from the headphones? The internal speaker? or Both?
If only from one I would expect either a headphone or speaker problem.
If from both, then try the standard fixes:
- Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.

  • Sound drops off when using hdmi outport to connect computer to an AV reciever

If I touch the trackpad the computer reconnects for another three minutes and  then disconnects. If I touch the the trackpad about every two minutes the computer stays connected indefinetly. This problem does not occur if I use the computer to play an audio CD. Any fix suggestions.

  • Sound drops off after 15 minutes after upgrading from windows 7 to Windows 8.1.

I upgraded my PC from Windows 7 to Windows 8.  Then, from Windows 8 to Wimdows 8.1.   When playing a Movie I've downloaded from iTunes it plays normally for a good while.  Then, after 15 minuites or so the sound drops off. If I close and reopen iTunes it plays again for about the same time.  I had to do that five or six times to get through a movie.   I've tried installing the latest sound drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling the latests iTunes with no luck fixing the issue.  I have my PC connected to my TV via HDMI cable.  Any suggestions?

    Hi,
You could download and install the trial version of Photoshop Elements 12.
For your serial number, try this:-
Go to Adobe.com and there should be a button to Manage account - click on that and sign in with your Adobe Id.
Click on View All under Plans & Products
    Click on View other products
After a short while, you should see your Photoshop Elements appear and you can expand it to see your serial number.
The serial number can be entered into the trial version to activate it.
Do you have your catalog and images?

  • Sound drops only when using one Airtunes speaker

    Hello,
When i connect to one Airport Express with Itunes, the sound drops every 3 seconds. But when i connect to multiple Airtunes speakers or one Airtunes speaker plus the pc speaker everything works fine.
-Both Airport Express stations are connected via a wireless router trough the ethernet port and have the wireless disabled. (pc --[wireless]-> Router --[ethernet]-> Airport1 & Airport2)
-i've used different settings buffer sizes.
I've searched the discussion but found nothing about the same problem. Can someone help me with this issue?
    Thanks

  • 46 minutes in movie all sound drops out

I am extremely frustrated, I have one on one and they could not help me. Please Help, for the last 4 weeks I have been trying to burn a 53 min video from FCS using I-movie 08 and 46 min into it the sound drops out. I have tried all the advise posted in the last Month.

Just a thought...how are you importing the movie into iDVD? If you are sending it from within iMovie, try importing it directly from within iDVD. Select 'Media' and then 'Movies' locate your movie and drag/drop it onto iDVD's main screen, being careful not to put it into a drop zone.
I also suggest that you recreate your iDVD project. I don't think the problem movie clips are corrupt because they worked in another iDVD project.

  • Intermittent Sound Dropping When Streaming Audio

I've just step up my new Apple TV and streaming from my shared iTunes library over wireless network is great.. However when I stream using airplay on my iPad 3 or iPhone 5 the sound drops intermittently, as if the signal wasn't getting through, if you know what I mean! sometimes drops altogether and airplay on the device seems to switch off.
I can't see any settings that I could change even if I wanted to (or knew what to!) and it seems strange that it works fine from the pc but not from the other Apple products.
The wireless signal is obviously ok, or could it be the wireless bits n the iPhone/Pad are not as good as in the pc? Clutching at straws a bit here, hope someone out there can help.
    Thanks.

Thanks for posting this because I too have the Pioneer VSX-1019AH and have just noticed this problem. I rarely listen to my iphone (ipod) through my receiver and this problem never occured before until yesterday.
I am experiencing a sound loss at random times, and it takes restarting the receiver, or disconnecting then reconnecting the iphone cable to get the sound back again, only for it to go off again in a few moments time.
Whilst the sound is off, both the iphone and receiver are continuing to play music because you can see the title of the tracks change on both devices. So where the fault lies is hard to tell but I'd say it's with the ios4.
I don't know whether Apple will provide any support regarding this problem but I do notice the receiver has been endorsed "made for ipod" which means it meets Apple performance standards.

  • Sound dropping when iPod connected to stereo - iOS 4.1

Why is the sound dropping when watching videos from the iPod when connected to a TV?
I have a Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K AV receiver with this nice setup (cable and functionality) that lets me watch videos on my TV with the iPod connected to the AVR (USB + composite video cable). The result is not bad, with better video than audio.
HOWEVER after upgrading to iOS 4.1 the sound (not picture) is dropping after various intervals of time (1 - 20 minutes) while plugged into the AVR. When I unplug the connection the video stops and the iPod goes back to the menu. The audio plays normally when restarting the video without the cable and continues to play normally when I plug the AVR cable back into the iPod. On occassions when plugging the AVR's cable into the iPod the sound does not come back, though unpluggin and plugging in again usually does it.
Anyone else have similar issues? I see some issues with apps and battery life under iOS4.1 and a few issues with audio / picture playback:

Have people had similar problems when iPods are connected to AVRs or TVs through composite or component cables? I realize the quality of sound / pictures from the iPod is not superb though it is as good as my sattelite dish. I could just have a computer connected to the AVR via HDMI or similar but well that would mean having a computer just for iTunes.

  • I can hear people on call but sometimes they can't hear me, it maybe fine for afew mins but then sound drops again? Anyone have this problem and find a solution? Thanks.

I have an Iphone 4 13.5 GB, iOS 7.1.2. Currently when I make a call or someone calls me, I can hear people on call perfectly but sometimes they can't hear me. It maybe fine for afew mins but then sound drops again? Anyone have this problem and find a solution? Thanks.

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

  • Sound Drop Out When Attempting to Use Multiple Speakers

Disclaimer: I've spent 3-4 hours searching for the answer, so - I'm posting another "Sound Drop Out" thread.. sorry!
I have 1 new AirPort Extreme, and 3 Expresses. I can stream music to one at a time without much problem. As soon as I try to go to more than 1 the sound gets very, very choppy (this includes 1 airport express and the computer speakers).
My iTunes library is on a USB airport disk shared from the Extreme.
I see many posts about not being able to connect to multiple speakers with Leopard 10.5.1 (which I am using) - but I am not getting the error messages those people are seeing. Also, my firewall is configured correctly.
My network is well within 150ft. The extreme is creating a network, and all the expresses are configured to join the network. I thought of setting up a WDS network, but would this be worth the trouble (I am having problems getting it configured correctly)?
I doubt signal strength is a problem. If I can stream to the express alone, why cant I play to the express and the computer speakers simultaneously? That wouldn't have anything to do with the wireless network signal strength?
Looking forward to your suggestions. I'm spending way too much time getting this to work. Apple is supposed to "just work" -right? LOL.

I think this has to do with the airport scanning for different networks. I have 2 airport express stations hooked up in different rooms, and the speakers drop out all the time. It *****.
But when I watch the airport on my laptop (streaming the music), the time counter next to the airport icon goes away momentarily. I think it's somehow disconnected from the network, or is scanning networks.
There are a number of posts regarding the airport constantly scanning networks, but I haven't found anything yet that helps keep the airport connected. It definitely seems to be worse in the evenings when a lot of people are using their computers.
When your speakers drop out, do the numbers next to the airport icon (on the serving computer) freeze or disappear?

  • VOD Sound drop at commercials and does not return when TV show resumes

i've noticed that there are other customers experiencing this problem and I have not seen any response from COmast support. When playing a TV-Show from On-Demand, the sound drops when a commerical starts and does not return when the TV Show resumes.A reenct example: Walking Dead 515.Yes, I have called comcast support to report it.Of course they wanted me to go through the standard drill - Power Off/On; Refresh Signal; etc. with no result...The  problem occurs on series, e.g. - Walking Dead 515; Grey's Anatomy;  It happens after the episode has been in the On Demand listing for about a week.It seems that the sponsors are no longer paying for the commercial, so the sound drops when the commercial comes on.However, the sound does not come back when the commercials end and the show comes back on.Stopping playback and starting at that point returns the sound, but, - oftentimes, the counter doesn't advance correctly in the Recently Viewed listing, so you end up starting back to the last time you stopped it. This is clearly a bug on the back-end, and I don't expect it to be fixed until enough people complain and Comcast Support replicates the problem observes it for themselves.

I have this EXACT problem on Anthony Bourdain's show Parts Unknown and the Last Ship.  As soon as it hits the advertizement sound drops and continues as dropped.  Pausing and restarting the program completely after exit regains sound but as soon as it hits another commercial it goes out again.  The counter problem makes this option only good for a few times.  Then it resets back.

  • Pixelation and sound drop on On Demand menu only

I am a new customer. When I select On Demand from the remote, the menu loads, however, upper-right quarter of the screen (that displays video previews, etc) is completely pixelated/blocky and the sound drops. This does not occur on my bedroom STB. I've ordered a few 30 minute On Demand items from the affected box and the pixelation does not seem to occur, though I fear something is clearly wrong if the menu video is messed up.
I've reseated and changed the coax from the wall to the STB in question with no results. I've also reseated all the connections at the splitter coming off the OTB. Anyone else ever experience this?

Having the same problem myself.  Have reset everything, checked the connections and only have the problem with VOD.

  • Adding "sound drops" while recording my podcast

Hello! I am recording a podcast using Audition CS6, and I want to basically play sound drops during the show.  How do I do this?  Is there something within Audition that will add sound during a recording, or do I use another program to accomplish that?
    Thanks for any help.

By "sound drops" do you mean things like sound effects and musical stings?  If so, Audition is primarily a post production tool so it'd be dead easy to do this while editing and mixing but not really possible live within Audition.  I know there are specific podcasting tools that allow this but it's not something I do so I can't recommend any.
....or, a trick I've used quite often, there are various programmes that allow you to instant random playback from either another computer or from a smart phone.  If your audio interface can handle this, do it like this works very well and makes you feel almost like a broadcast studio.

  • FCP5 and Sound drops/pops

    Hello,
We captured footage from mini-DV tapes using FCP5. The footage on those tapes was recorded in 24p normal during production.
We captured the said footage with the NTSC Easy Set-Up in FCP5, before doing a pulldown with Cinema Tools.
The footage we got was at 23.98fps.
    Good.
... until we started to notice sound drops and pops in some of the captured footage -- drops and pops which do not exist on tape.
Why are we getting the bad sound quality?
    Did we miss something?
    Thank you.

    - The media is stored in a special folder called "23.98fps files" on our drive, a 400G Glyph.
That folder is the folder from which we imported the files we're editing in FCP5.
    - The project file itself is located in its own folder, the one that contains the scratch disk.

Hi hierge, is this happening on both of your boxes or just the RNG150N (the bigger box of the two)?
    Thank you
